Does the job. I think all cars should carry a pair, so if you need a small pair for occasional use these are fine. They are not going to carry a huge current and will get a bit warm, but if you leave them hooked up for 5 minutes to get some charge in the dead battery, i bet you'll start anything. Certainly, bigger is better in jumper cables, but unless your a professional or have to jump large vehicles, little cables work in a pinch which is when you tend to need them. Oh, i also live in so-cal so I don't know if this might not be the case in more northern climates where you might need more power...
