This unit is cleverly designed, and functions adequately...some of the time. Interference from power lines and radio signal relays regularly disrupt "broadcasts" from one's iPod to the FM station selected. As one travels, other stations can routinely be heard, replacing the programming on one's iPod. It's pretty annoying, and frequently renders the listening experience genuinely unpleasant.

I got the Tune Stick over other FM transmitters for the iPod as it is the only one that I could find with a pass through port. This allows for charging the iPod while it is being used definitely a cool thing to have. It has definitely changed (for the better) my office environment and my commute. The remote and the cradle for the steering wheel are all good as others have probably said, however, we ALL know that the iPod battery lasts NOT nearly as long as advertising would have us believe. So, the pass through connection for the docking port is a must for a day in the office or the long weekend or vacation drive up the coast. The transmission quality has been great although in the big cities (I like to avoid them anyway), it can take a little time to find a clear channel.

This is a pretty good little toy. It's probably a little on the expensive side for an actual accessory for an iPod, especially considering that it only works "pretty well." It's also not quite right for the Nano in that the part that attaches to the iPod is longer than the Nano is wide, and covers the audio out jack (so you can't use the remote other than with the device broadcasting). This is too bad, because the FM braodcast gets shaky in way more environments than one would like overhead electric tram (streetcar, trolley bus) wires mess up transmission, as do corridors of tall buildings.

It's also not always clear how you re-start it after you have stopped the player for some length of time.

It's certainly better than having your car stereo converted at huge expense especially as the remote frees you from having to lunge for the player all the time, but it ain't perfect.

I purchased this remote to have steering wheel control of my iPod in my car. While I found the included mount to be too large, I was easily able to attach the remote with Velcro tape to the spokes of my steering wheel. The remote is small enough to fit easily onto the steering wheel without getting in the way while I'm driving. There is a very slight delay in sending the signal (~0.5 sec), but it not long enough to bother me.

The remote is also quite durable. The day I got the remote, it accidentally fell out of my pocket while I was digging my car out of the snow. I came home 10 hours later to find it still frozen in the ice on the street next to where I had parked. I pried it out of the ice with my car key, and was surprised to find that it still worked perfectly. I opened up the battery compartment, dried up the two drops of water that had worked their way in, and the remote has worked well since (about 1 month).

I connect my iPod directly to the car input, so I can't comment on the quality of the radio transmitter, but I can say that it doesn't seem to interfere with my radio reception.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have steering wheel control of their iPod. My only criticism would be the large size of the included steering wheel mount, and the lack of any ability to change playlists or control other iPod functions. For me the price, charger pass through, durability, and very small size of the remote by far make up for these shortcomings.

Could not get my iPod to recognize it. Spent hours and hours trying to rest my iPod, reset the Tune Stick, then reset it all again. The DLO instructions are very weak. The DLO customer service is a joke... couldn't get a hold of anyone there. Got so frustrated almost returned the stupid thing.... but then, just before I was about to give up, I gave it one last try and.... IT WORKED!!!! And I've been a happy camper since! The steering wheel remote holder is genius! I really like this product because it has the pin out for the car power charger on the bottom, so I just plug in my charger to the outlet and it recharges my iPod, while maintaining power to the Tune Stick (not necessary, but convenient because the set up eats battery life) at the same time while I'm wheeling down the road groovin to my tunes! Final comment: It is definately worth the money... and the initial frustration. Have patience and you'll be very please!!
