For some reason when I plug my GPS into this charger the computer connected icon appears and I cannot use the GPS. Luckily it does charge but there is no other benefit. I could take it inside and charge it with a usb for the same result.

The cord on the car charger is too short which means that the gps is perched on the edge of the dash and will fall off if the car brakes suddenly. The cord has to be much longer to be serviceable.

I have used eForCity before and they continue to exceed expectations. I will continue to use them again. good job

I thought I was buying a product that would allow me to use my Garmin in the car and charge as well. This product does neither.

When used to power a Garmin, the Garmin thinks it is being connected to a PC and tries to connect. Does NOT charge the Garmin or allow you to use the Garmin in the car. Unfortunately the unit is only good for the landfill.

Looks like your only option is to buy a Garmin brand name charger. However they do not last very long. I am on my third charger.
