Adventure Action Gear Neoprene Heat Back Wrap

Venture Heated Clothing SH-55 Heated Back WrapWrap is very warm. I keep it on low 99% of the time, especially when moving and doing physical activity. I use it outdoors in the winter time to keep my back loose and warm. Even when the wrap is turned off, the neoprene insulates and keeps my back muscles warm. It is very lightweight also.

Two downsides one, I wish the battery lasted longer than 5 hours, not because I need it for more than that per day, but because the battery is advertised to only last for 300 charges. Since it only lasts 5 hours, you can go through a full charge in one day pretty easily, meaning you will run out of charges quicker since you need to charge it more often. The second downside is the bulkiness of the battery on your waste. Neither of these would deter me from buying another one or recommending it to someone else.

I have suffered from an injury to my back for many years now, and at times, the pain it causes can become quite bad. Due to the frequency that I suffer from back pain, I prefer not to rely exclusively on painkillers because I worry about short and long-term side effects.

Previously, I have used heated back wraps (which activate when exposed to air and last for up to eight hours) and have had extremely positive results from their usage, but, these products are expensive to keep buying all the time. I have also tried re-usuable microwave wraps, but they just don't stay warm for very long at all. I wanted a solution that would save me money, and also work for longer than an hour at most. When I saw the Venture Heated Back Wrap, I thought the product looked perfect. The price was a bit steep, but I felt it would be a worthy long-term investment (since I spend over $30 each month currently buying heated back wraps).

Unfortunately, I have been left less than impressed with my new purchase. Not only does the product barely fit, (I should have brought the next size up) but also, the battery life does not last as long as the description had led me to believe.

In order to get some measure of pain relief from this product, I have to have it on the "hot" setting. I got about 2 3 hours of relief from this product when using it on this setting, which was a disappointment when I had been hoping for 4 or even 5 hours. The lowest setting did not provide any pain relief at all, and whilst the "hot" setting did provide some relief, it was not as effective as the heated back wraps I usually wear are. In order to get a higher level of pain relief from this product, I would need to use it on the "very hot" setting. At "very hot" the product manual says you can get about 1.5 hours of use from it, which makes it about as annoying as the microwaveable heated back-wraps.

I like to wear my heated back wraps towards the end of the evening, then I keep them on whilst I sleep through the night so that the heat can soothe my sore back and help the healing process. When used this way, I actually have benefited from two or three days post-usage of relative little pain or discomfort. Obviously, I cannot do this with a product that only works for 1.5 hours --my painful back requires long-lasting heat therapy in order for there to be any effective results.

Maybe I could plug it in and use the product that way, but I don't think it was designed to be used by that and it would probably be dangerous.

In addition to my issues with the battery's longevity, the battery itself is a bit awkward to fix inside the back wrap after its been recharged. The settings were also difficult for me to read and access (due to my disability) and so I have to have someone help me put it on.

Overall then, this product was not the money saving solution I had hoped it will be. Despite having my heated back wrap charged and ready to use, I find myself resorting to the tried and tested air-activated heated back wraps. I wish I could return this product and get a refund, but the Amazon marketplace seller I brought it from has a strict return policy and I don't think they will accept it now that it has been used.

It has starting trouble even if the battery is fully charged. You never know that it will be started or not, when you want heat. Heating is very weak. Battery take long time to charge and charge does not last long enough.

I purchased this item as a Christmas gift for my husband who has back problems. When we took it out of the package and read the instructions, it said to charge the battery pack until the light on the charger turned from red to green. As soon as we plugged it in, it was green. We were suspicious that this might be an issue, but left in overnight to charge. In the morning, we disconnected the battery pack from the charger and plugged it into the wrap. We tried numerous times to turn it on we tried all the buttons but nothing lit up and the wrap did not get warm. Very disappointing. I have returned the item for a refund. Don't want to risk getting another lemon. I would not recommend this product because of poor quality.
