I originally had the unit with the breakers built in and it ran to a sub panel that Freightliner (stoops specialty trucks) had installed already in the sleeper. I noticed at first this unit was substantially louder when inverting than the older unit(the hum all inverters produce) but now that it has been installed and running it has quieted down and is barely noticeable anymore. Have not put it to its 2000watt limit but it works for everything we have in our truck... 1000w convection microwave, 21" TV, PS3, Computer with a 650w power supply. all on at the same time and it doesn't even bother it at all. the only thing is to make sure your system can handle pulling enough power to feed the unit without sucking your batteries dry. a 100amp alt and a bank of 4 1000w cca batteries easily get pulled down quickly. (Charger) this portion works flawlessly and when you have power coming into the unit it quickly transfers over to charging and keeps the batteries charged without overcharging them. Would highly recomend the me-rc50 so you can fine tune the settings to fit your unique setup.
