I bought this charger as an inexpensive alternative to the Motorola brand dock. I was disappointed as soon as I plugged my Droid 3 into it, the phone became erratic and unresponsive when plugged into this dock. I took the charger itself (not the dock) apart and was shocked to find not only a very poorly designed charger, but that one of the capacitors had only one leg soldered in, and the other was floating freely in the case! Worse yet this free floating leg was touching the metal casing of the USB port. Needless to say I am no longer using this charger. However the good news is that you can simply plug in the OEM Motorola charger cord into the dock and it works as it's supposed to. Just don't rely on the cheap charging electronics that come with the dock.
The Cradle and charger do everything they are suppose to do. The problem is the phone software... when the phone is in the crade is does not rotate the screen so you can use it easily and there is no docking station app on the phone like there was on my original Droid A855.

I was excited to order this, and at such a huge discount. The use and performance, however, are seriously lacking. There is absolutely no flexibilty to this device, and ANY protective case (no matter how thin and insignificant) must be removed or the phone won't fit in the charger. It is painfully slow to charge. The only advantage is having the spare battery charger, as long as you don't need it charged in less than 12 hours.

Purchased this charging and media dock only to find that the screen stays in a vertical orientation and does not rotate. It charges my phone but thats all I can say for it.
