SecurityMan PalmCam Weatherproof Portable Wireless Rearview Camera System

This SecurityMan "PalmCam Wireless Rearview Camera System" works well and is very easy to use. Taking the advice of a friend, who calls these devices "marriage savers" ("turn to the right... no, your other right"), we (I) decided to get a back-up camera since we have little experience with the "dance" required to maneuver the tow vehicle to the trailer hitch.

This is a full featured set that has the following features:

+ Wireless; requires no cabling between the camera and monitor

+ Rechargeable Batteries; camera and monitor both can run off battery or connected to the included AC and car chargers

+ Good Range; works flawlessly for my needs, tested out to about 30' but claims to work up to 300'

+ Clear Image; easy to distinguish details on the screen

+ Night Vision; unit automatically switches to night vision mode in low light (Black and White display)

+ Magnetic Camera Mount; camera has a padded magnetic mount for easy positioning on the tow vehicle

+ Window and Vent Monitor Mount; includes both mount types, useful in states where window mount is not allowed

I am very happy with this extremely helpful device and there are no issues at all to report (at this time).

Got this camera to keep an eye on mares and foals being transported in my horse trailer. It works well for short trips. However, the battery life (w/out infared)is 3 hours or less. Not very helpful for a long haul, and recharge time is fairly long. I've rigged a 12 v battery in the tack room of the trailer to try to plug the camera into for longer trips. Haven't had the opportunity to use it "plugged in" yet, but may give a new review once I do.

Bottom line........... I'm not sorry I purchased this camera, only wish it did a little more than advertized. If wishes were horses...............

I bought this camera thinking I could mount it on the back of my 35 ft. fifth wheel camper to keep an eye on my golf cart being towed on 5x8 trailer. I didn't have any reception on the monitor. This camera works great if you install camera on the back of your tail gate to hook up to a bumper pull trailer.

Monitor will not come on , Tried it pluged in and unpluged to power supply this did not work .

I bought this unit to put on the rear bumper of my RV trailer to aid in backing up. I have a full size pickup and a 30 foot trailer (hitch not fifth wheel). When I put the camera on my trailer rear bumper I only get static on the monitor. For my purpose the camera is useless.
