Rapid Retractable Car Charger (CLA) for HTC Evo 4G

I love this car charger for its low price and functionality. The charger is a normal micro USB so it is not just for the HTC Evo. I am now using it with my Samsung Galaxy S III. The cord on mine does not measure 4 feet (this has not been an issue) but rather 3'4 ½" or 40 ½". After 2 years of use everything works as it should the button to retract the cord, the retracting ability of the cord, the charging ability, the red indicator light to show receiving power and charging, the fit of the 12V socket side, the fit of the USB side (not loose or anything).

Worked great for about a week... now it goes on and off constantly. Bought it for my evo. If I plug it in half way SOMETIMES it works.
