Go Power! GP-3000HD 3000-Watt Heavy Duty Modified Sine Wave Inverter

I bought the GP3000HD because I have a Go Power solar kit and it is great so I know that they generally have high quality products. This is a low cost 3000 watt inverter but it works, and it works quite well. It has 4 outlets on the front of the inverter to plug into, and it has a hardwire option as well. I saw a complaint on one of the reviews that someone could not get wiring for this inverter. I don't know if they thought that the inverter comes with cables but it does not. Go Power makes an install kit for this inverter and it is called the GPDC-Kit5 and it is on amazon.com and it is $250. This cable kit has a set of the largest cables I have ever seen. on the spec sheet it says they are 10 foot 4/0 welding cables with a special slow blow inverter fuse. I don't truly know if the cables need to be this large but I know 3000 watts is a lot of power. I have 4 batteries on my RV and I was able to start the Air conditioner and then my microwave so both were running at the same time. Obviously this drained my batteries quite but that is alot of power for a $350 inverter! Most of the time I am using the inverter for my cofee maker and the microwave but it is cool to know that I can throw on the AC if I felt like it. I would definitely recommend this inverter and I definitely recommend GO Power. I have called them before to get help on my solar kit install and they were very helpful.

3000HD unit malfunctioned after 3 weeks. Tech support was helpful but couldn't determine malfunction over phone. I was impressed they would just REPLACE the the unit before I even sent the problem one back! No questions asked! Now Thats customer service!!

My wife purchased the GP-3000 HD as a gift for me. At that time the information/fact sheet was misleading, it has since been changed. I have tried for about 6 weeks to purchase the wiring kit for this but just kept getting the run around, even from Carmanah Co. In the end they would not return calls or e mails regarding this matter.

I did find a company that would make me the "KIT", this took about ten days and another 400.00 plus dollars. Then I still had to make adjustments to hook it up and spend another $25.00 for parts. At this time I have not even turn the inverter on and have spent more for the wiring and parts then for the inverter and still the CARMANAH Co. is not returning calls !

So if SUPPORT is something that may concern you, I would look for a different product !

It good for the price, but don't buy the remote. very sensitive on the incoming voltage side ( battery), enjoy it as you can hard wire it
