I purchased the 48 volt to charge my NEV GEM car. The car is used at a campground during the day with plenty of battery reserve and available all night for charging. I was first skeptical a less than $100.00 charger could replace my $500.00 Zivan charger but was amazed that it did just that. The batteries were completely DOA so it took 48 hours to charge them fully. After 3 weeks of use, the car holds a higher capacity of charge for a longer period of time. I now make it a habit to keep the car plugged in to maintain the battery bank when not being driven. If you are looking for a 5 minute charger, this won't work for you but in my situation it saved me over $400.00 in charger replacement costs AND it uses far less electricity than the factory Zivan charger with its continuously running cooling fan. A five star electric bill saver. BONUS: I did have to contact the factory to ask for help downloading and printing the manual. I was delighted an ENGLISH speaking HUMAN answered the phone on the SECOND ring and was extremely helpful. That's worth the 5 stars itself.

I have purchased 2 of these chargers a 48v and a 12v the 48v I charged up my e bike 1 time when I went to charge it only the second time the power lite and the self check happened but then it just had the blue power lite on and did not charge! So just as a test I hooked up the 12v charger with the same cables to make sure it was not just a bad connection and it functioned as expected.

So $80.00 in the crapper! I hope the 12v one I bought works the second time I use it!!!!!!!!!
