I have bought alot of bad boxes in my days of road service, but this one gets my highest grade. I can crank an old 70's clunker until i give up, not the box(excellent cold cranking amps). This power pack will finish the day out with jumping 6 to 8 cars(completly dead batteries or some with no battery) without needing to be recharged for the next days activities. I only charge this unit maybe once a week.Read Best Reviews of Clore ES2500 'Booster PAC' 900 Peak Amp 12V Jump Starter Here
Do not hesitate ... if you're looking for a portable jump starter that will start a dead battery -Look no further. Single mom certified! One Monday car dead as doornail. I thought I'd left a light on or something, but research revealed this vehicle to have a history of draining batteries rather unexpectedly. After reading that, I knew I would need a portable jump starter that would not rely on a second vehicle (I drive rural roads). I'm the OCD type that researches every purchase to the hilt. I looked at a LOT of jumpers. I finally took the plunge with the ES2500 and it's a winner! I charged it up at work (upon delivery there) and continued charging overnight at home. In the morning one attempt was all I needed to start my vehicle right up. It's small enough that it sits right in the shallow "storage" area in the "way back." So many of the jumpers on the market are so bulky! That was one of the important features of the ES2500 that convinced me to buy it. That storage area is only about 4.5 5 inches deep. I had no problem fitting the petite (but heavy) ES2500 back there. I didn't want it out in the viewable cargo area, sliding around with every turn. While the +100 dollar price made me hesitate, I am convinced it is worth every penny. I can drive fully confident that a dead battery is not ever going to strand me and my daughter in the middle of nowhere. That peace of mind is a priceless blessing. Oh one last thing... It hadn't even been 24 whole hours from the time I ordered the ES2500 before Amazon had it in my hands. I did not pay for overnight. You Rock Amazon!Want Clore ES2500 'Booster PAC' 900 Peak Amp 12V Jump Starter Discount?
I've had a very busy year and around June my battery in my car died. It sounds silly to say it, but I just haven't had time to go get a new one put in so what do I do? I grab my trusty Jump Box and jump it off every morning, four times a day. Since JUNE!This Clore has kept me running strong during that time with not one hiccup, missed day of work, or problem whatsoever. I couldn't be happier.
This is a little more expensive than the crap-tastic old yellow jump boxes but let me tell you it's worth it not to worry about whether your car will start one morning.
I charge it about once a week when it falls below 3 LED's on the tester. Then it's good go go again FOUR TIMES A DAY, for the rest of the week.
Don't let the others put you off about short wires. They're the same or comparable to any other charger. Enough wire to wrap around the jump pack and clamp onto the side storage covers. What alot of people are missing is that these are big no-nonsense clamps, whereas other packs have tiny little sissy clamps made out of alligator clamps and used paper clips. The clamps being so large (and easy to handle with freezing hands) means less cable is required. You're taking up the section of wire with clamp-space. End result is the same and you won't have these clamps falling off all the time.
All in all I'd say it's money well spent. I've never been this impressed with what amounts to a plastic battery with expandable jiggly posts.
UPDATE 02/08/2012: It has been exactly 4 years to the day (tomorrow) since I bought this booster pack and I have really worked it hard. I used it to run my car for a very long time, then I used it to run my truck exclusively due to it being parked on a car lot and I had worries about theft. No messing with a big bulky battery, just popped this little puppy in it and took of. Took it with me when I was done.
It easily handled everything I threw at it (including the overworking mentioned in my original review) and kept going strong until this past weekend. All of my misuse, abuse, and thoughtless handling of this booster couldn't kill it but my wife could. She left it outside clamped to her dead car overnight for two nights in the rain with temps around 24 degrees for a full weekend. "It was too cold to go outside and I thought it was OK." Well, it probably was for the first 12 hours honey, but now it's dead beyond repair.
I said a little prayer for my little sherman tank of a booster pack and tossed her today. Now I'm ordering another and thought some of you might appreciate an update.
Skip the rest, buy this one and don't let a dead battery slow you down. Just keep it hidden from those battery killin wives!
-Max
