TuneCast® II Mobile FM Transmitter For 3.5mm Audio Devices

TuneCast® II Mobile FM Transmitter For 3.5mm Audio Devices
  • Transmits on FM channels 88.1MHz-107.9MHz
  • Memorizes up to 4 FM frequencies. Powers on and off automatically
  • Features low-battery LED indicator

  • AC Wall ChargerUSB): Power and charge your MP3 player from any wall outlet(US only)*

Belkin offers a version of this that costs less because it programs only to four preset frequencies. In our area all four are too close to an actual radio station to offer a clear channel. So, I paid more and chose the infinitely variable tuning version. Still, if you drive into an area covered by a station on the same frequency that you have chosen to use, the signal from this unit is strong enough to overpower the radio station's signal, unless it is a very strong station.

The unit will not turn on until it receives an audio signal from your player at a sufficient sound volume. It is easy to think wrongly your unit is defective because it will not turn on. The "auto on" feature is useful. Just turn the player on or off and the transmitter follows suit almost instantaneously.

The unit is easy to program and to use. The included power adapter fed by the cigarette lighter is a nice extra feature.

The unit plays clean sound when your car is parked in an open area. When driving or parking near certain types of structures or electrical interference, you will hear hisses and rumbles through your car speakers. Sometimes improvement can be found by using this device in a different vehicle or at a different frequency. Still, there are areas where some unexplained interference drowns the signal with a loud buzz. Then all you can do is to shut off the player until you are past the source of interference.

This unit works well for listening to Podcasts or an audio book; but would be disconcerting to anyone who wanted to listen to music, especially if he did not grow up in the era of top 40 hits on old AM tube radios with all of their pops, hisses, wows, and flutters.

I had one of these when they first came out I even bought it at Home Depot... it was the best transmitter for the price. This one I got off Amazon (for a friend) is really terrible. You have to hold it in a certain position in the car or it's all fuzzy. I am really disappointed that the quality of this product has gone down so much.

Didn't work very well. I was able to pick-up my MP3 player on one of my car stereo stations, but it wasn't as clear as the music on CD's. I'll be sticking with CD's.

Do not buy from this seller, the items are NOT NEW, they are filthy dirty used scratched items, seller never answered my e-mail requesting a new product or refund, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER.
