Windmax HY400 500 Watt Max 12-Volt 5-Blade Residential Wind Generator Kit

Well I have given this some time before I wrote this review. I bought 2 of these charging a 10 12v battery bank which feeds my grid tie inverters. I live in North Texas so in my area I don't have a lot of wind. As soon as I released the brake the blades started turning and only stopped for 2 days out of the month. I'm also running 1000w of solar so on a nice cloudy day the turbines pick up the slack for charging my batteries. I am very pleased with my turbines and plan on buying 2 more which will give me a total of 4 along with my solar. Sorry electric company. I'm just tired of paying your high rates.

This turbine is well built. All around one of the best I have tried for low wind's. There is a video on you tube with what this turbine look's like out of the box. Just search wind max turbine HY-400 on you tube. Power output is excellent for low wind. All around 5 star's. I am a electrician these can be a bit tricky to install and I suggest that you have a electrician wire them for you. The rest of the install can be fairly easy.

if you want to install this unit yourself DO NOT BUY! it comes with incomplete(intentionally) instructions-they say"these are not installation instructions, hire a electrical engineer"-there are no wiring diagrams, no output voltages,NO PHONE# to call. If you manage to find the # for their company, and try to ask about something stupid like output voltage they say"we don't support self installs", and WILL NOT answer ANY of your questions. they are just a re-pack and ship outfit(this is what THEY say) that makes a profit, while looking for ways NOT to warranty or support their product. if you are a good enough liar they might talk to you. they say if your turban fails due to the charge controller THEY sell with the unit no warranty, if you install yourself-no warranty, this unit has NO WARRANTY or instructions except that they do NOT warranty or support their china made productthe charge controller does not indicate the same as my other quality controller from arizona wind and suni have 4x 140watt poly panels, a aims 8000watt inverter(which failed,and aims replaced within 2weeks) I got good service from everyone else,.If you want to get treated like dirt, do business with these people.

went up easy,and is working as it is supposed to.i have it hooked up to two 160 amp deep cycle batteries,and it is keeping them fully charged. would recomend this product...came with everything but pole-batteries-and wire..

I received this turbine in very good condition and fast. I will be setting it up as a hybrid system with my solar array of 350 watts. So my max output will now be 850 watts. I can not speak for the charge controller that comes with this turbine, because I will be using my xantrex c-60 controller instead, with a dump load hot water heater which is already in service. And yes, I did have to purchase a stop switch separately. But all in all, I think this will be a very nice addition to my system. It will cut my generator use considerably. I will also be mounting wind speed/weather station system on my turbine tower.
