Calling this a car kit is a bit ambitious as it's really just a car mount with a charger. It does fit the Evo nicely, and seems to be made of quality stuff. However, I found that anchoring it to the windshield resulted in so much vibration that the screen wasn't readable; the only way I could figure out to damp it was to mount it such that the bottom of the mount sits against the dashboard. Having done that, the only remaining problem is that sometimes when I pull the phone out, the whole cradle slides off (as another reviewer has mentioned). That's really annoying but there doesn't appear to be any easy way of fixing it other than perhaps glue. Other than these annoyances, it works well and does what I need. Oh, and there's one other issue what were they thinking in using a mini rather than micro USB cable for power? If you ever want to just plug the phone in but hold it in your hand rather than using the cradle you are out of luck! I haven't seen anything better for the Evo, and you can work around these issues but for this much money I really would have expected something a bit more polished.

This is a well designed product except for a few things. When using the speaker phone, people say that they can't understand what I'm saying so the Car Kit must cover up the microphone of the phone. The hands free phone was one of the main reasons I purchased this device. It is a two handed removal process because the whole "docking holster" comes loose when you lift the phone out. A dab of glue would fix that but then it could only be used for the EVO (assuming there are other inserts for other phones). Substantially built, strong, very adjustable. I'd give it 5 stars if it weren't for the problems I mentioned above.

Several options for length, width and positioning.

I'm a smoker, and I noticed when you smoke like I do and never clean the inside part of the windshield the mount falls of.

Simple solution is to lick the suction cup before sticking it on the windshield.

I like the heft and stability of the device. Solid, easy mount. You can orient it in profile or landscape mode easily, just be cognizant that the power cord plugs in on the right-hand side of the unit and the contact is not the same as in the bottom of your EVO, so you're not able to utilize your existing EVO car cord.

Seidio warrants their power products for 180 days. About one month ago, my mount began overheating the battery while charging, causing the unit to shut down. In the last week, the unit has stopped charging altogether. Total life span = 225 days. Upon contacting the company, Seidio has responded, stating that they only warrant the product for 180 days and that I was welcome to "Please visit our online store for more selections". I will be searching for alternate products from other manufacturers.
