The recepticle on the TomTom XXL is receded, and the housing around this connection is too bulky to fit up into that area and make a connection, so this is useless, even though it states that it will work for my 5" TomTom model.

UpdateI used a grinder (you could use a razor blade knife) and I shaved the excess rubber surrounding the connector, and this allowed it to fit securely up into the receptacle. I then plugged it into my car to verify that it was charging the unit, and it was. But still, you shouldn't have to do this when you're told that it is made to fit your particular GPS.
