I miss some of my previous cars that had three or four cigarette plugs in them. My current new car only has the one. I only need that cigarette plug for my radar detector, but I wanted a few USB ports as well for my iPhone, iPad, whatever I needed to charge. My iPod that's permanently in the car charges off the car's built in USB port that the stereo uses, but I don't keep music on my phone, and hated having to kill the music when I needed to give my phone a little juice.

I had tried a couple other ones similar to this with poor results. most were large and clunky. This one, however, surprised me when I opened the box and saw just how small it really is. Compared to the others I've attempted to use, it's amazingly small.

This one inserted well, fit in there and stayed in there doesn't work its way out. And the radar detector plug also stays put. I've been charging my iPhone 5 with it and things appear to be working well. The fact that you can angle it around helps, depending on your layout of the dash and the space around the plug. In my case I leave it fully extended since there's nothing in the way for me.

For the price, I couldn't beat it.

Works exactly as advertised. This device is pretty straightforward. I plug it into my car's cigarette lighter, and it's ready to start charging when you turn your car on (unless your car's DC outlet draws power from your battery even when your engine's off, in which case the 3P will draw power as long as it's plugged in.) Regardless, it's very easy to use. The best part is, I can charge multiple things at once. I was afraid that I would only be able to use one or two ports at a time, but I can actually use both USB plugs AND the extra DC outlet all at the same time, which is pretty cool. Case in point, I took a little trip not too long ago with some friends and managed to charge my phone, my iPod touch, and used my friend's ancient DC charger to charge HIS phone as well. It was very handy for the car ride.

I've also used the 3P to charge my wife's iPad, and that worked pretty well too. I'm not sure if it can charge every kind of tablet though. The ad didn't say anything about other kinds of tabs, which is a bummer. I'll have to find that out later. However, if indeed it can't charge other tabs, that's not really a big deal to me. I bought it to charge phones and iPods, and it can do that very well. Also cool that it folds up so small (makes it easy to move around). I give it a thumbs-up. Definitely worth it if you're in the market for a small, multi-outlet car charger.

Very handy in cars that don't have the USB port already built in. Only drawback is that the adapter only sits well in deep cigarette lighter plugs.

I love the functionality of this adapter. I can power my satellite radio and charge by phone and Ipod/ipad. The blue LED light is very bright.
