Sony CR1616 Lithium Coin Battery

Sony CR1616 Lithium Coin BatteryWhen replacing the battery in the Honda key fob, it appears that the battery used originally was a Panasonic CR1818. Upon further research, there is no such CR model. The CR1616 is the correct battery and works very well.

Previously I bought a batch of no-name batteries for our two key fobs based totally on price. I got what I paid for, they lasted for about 6 months. So I decided to go with a brand name and so far they are working great.

A month before I bought this Sony CR1616, I went to a local jeweler's store and bought a brand of battery that was *supposedly* made in Switzerland. "How much?", I asked. The helper yelled back in a foreign language to someone in back. After getting a reply (also not in English, but it must have translated to "If he's stupid looking, corn-hole him!"), the clerk responded it was $5.

My watch ran for only three or four days before its LCD said I needed a new battery. I suspect either defective Renata-brand battery or a Chinese forgery.

So I spent less time shopping from my easy chair, went with a good ol' reliable Sony, paid less, and bought from a five-star vendor on Amazon. The ONLY way to go.
