This is a very solid product. It charges spare battery just as well as the other my external chargers that my daughter has had in the past. It does in fact hold and charge the phone as well but only with a UBS plug. The extra battery only charges with AC adapter. She loves it because, it is compact. I love it because it was in expensive.
