Simran 1875 Watts International Travel Voltage Converter For 110V USA Products In 220V/240V Countri

If you want to use your electronic devices operated with a rechargeable battery (such as your iPhone, cell phone, ipod, ipad, laptop, digital camera) in another country where the household power supply is at 220/240V, you don't need to bother, because nearly all these electronic products are designed today to be completed with a battery charger suitable for a voltage range from 100V to 240V; in other words, people travel around with these electronic items, so these items should work properly at any level of voltage anywhere in the world. Whatever you have and wish to use in a foreign country, just carefully check the marking on the battery charger about the voltage rating ... if the voltage rating is printed or embossed as "100-240V", then don't worry, simply connect the power plug to a socket to charge the battery after you get to the destination.
I also brought with me two laptop's, a cell phone and an SRL digital camera from China (at 220/240V) and have been using them here in the U.S. (at 110V) for almost half a year ... everything is okay as perfectly as they worked in China, because the battery chargers can work at any voltage from 100V to 240V.
However, if you want to use an ELECTRICAL item operated under alternating current (like a hair dryer, steam iron), you will need such a converter, so that your electrical item for 110V can be used at foreign voltage 220/240V. If you don't, your electrical item will get burned from voltage break-down. Some products sold in the U.S. are completed with a rechargeable battery (electrical toothbrushes, for example), but the voltage rating of the battery charger is subject to 110V, meaning that the battery can be charged at 110V only. So if you need to use such an electrical item outside the U.S. at 220/240V, such a converter will be necessary.
Apart from a voltage converter, you should also check if a plug adapter will be required before you travel to a foreign country, because there are quite many types of power plugs in the world. For example, if your laptop's battery charger has a U.S. type power plug, you cannot plug it directly into a wall socket in Australia or in the U.K., since the pins and the slots do not match.
I ordered this converter for my parents who are going to travel in China, as they'd like to bring a water flosser with them and that is absolutely an electrical item. I received this in a good condition, but couldn't find a better manual than the brief instruction on the box. The quality should be okay as it has adequate weight. Hope my parents would say yes to its quality after they use it.
Update on 04-28-11:
According to my parents, this converter does not work with a water flosser in China. It is too weak, and there is no water flush generated from the water flosser even at the 'HIGH' position of the converter.
It was a waste of money. I would not recommend this product, and hence reduced the rating to 1 star.I've been using this model of travel converter for over 5 years, traveling all over the world. I have only a few 110V US items that I carry with me, the most important to me is an RCR123a battery charger. It has yet to fail me. I use just an adapter (not a converter) for my laptops and other items that have power supplies capable of handling 100-240 Volts at 50 or 60 Hz.
I paid $25 for mine, so the shipping charge doesn't seem terribly out of line. I would like to get it for less, of course.I cannot deal with a bad hair day. Even while travelling I must carry my own hair dryer & hair straightner. This converter worked great for me while holidaying in Europe & Asia. As per instructions I used it on the High setting for both the Items. It also worked great with my husband's shaver & iPhone on the Low setting. We were impressed that such a lightweight converter, worked so well for all our gadgets. We highly recommend this converter for travellers.Great product. We took this converter to Shanghai, China (May 2010) and it worked great. We stayed in a Chinese hotel, Motel 168, for 9 days and my wife used this converter constantly with her hairdryer. We also used it to charge up our Nintendo DS and an eBook reader. For the hairdryer we turned the switch to "Hi" and for the other electronics we turned it to "lo." Remember to do that or you might destroy some of your electronics if you have it set to "Hi."
We were able to plug this converter right into the Chinese outlets. No adapter needed.
Our laptop did not need this converter. We plugged our laptop into the outlets using an adapter, no converter needed.

Waterproof PWM LS2024RP Solar Panel Charge Controller Regulator 12/24V 20A

Here are a few problems I have with it. It starts the charge cycle every day trying to "equalize" my RV batteries (2=6V series Trojan T105RE @12V) the voltage it tries to maintain for about 2 hours regardless of the charge state of my batteries is 14.8V. Then it drops to 14.4-6V for 30min or so. Then it "floats" at 13.8V. The main problem is that the "boost" and/or "equalize" is often too short, or too long. This cycle is "dumb" and only on a timer, but it doesn't seem to care if your batteries need more charge or not, and won't provide more if they do, nor less if they don't. The indicator light on this controller might show a "full charge" but the controller continues to charge too much sometimes, but most often not enough, leaving the batteries under charged and requiring me to use another charger to actually bring them up to full charge, using a hydrometer as a charge indicator to actually determine the charge state.
The float voltage would be too high from this controller for my batteries which should be 13.2V, and the equalize voltage would be too low from this controller, I need 15.2+V and using this controller I noticed 1 cell in my batteries was already developing a drop in voltage after using this controller 2 months or less. (not equalized, but my other charger seemed to remedy this)
I did not use the light timer feature for load control (I was interested mostly in the "waterproof" part), so I can't comment on this feature.
So for intermittent emergency use it might be okay, and it might work okay if you have better math than I do and can perfectly match your panels/batteries/load to only require 2-3 hours of full charge, such as a driveway light system or something... but its not very good for variable loads and uses such as an RV.
I didn't get enough rain to really test the waterproof part, but I did use it outside hooked to the back of my panels which I moved around the yard chasing the sun. The wires on this unit appear close to 10 gauge but may be 12, it is China built, but comes with instructions easy enough to understand in super tiny print I need a magnifying glass to read.
I will be replacing this unit with something else that is "smarter" so I don't have to be. :)It holds my 29 series size deep cycle battery nicely. The gauge in the lid if just a guess on the batteries status but works ok. I love the strap to hold down the lid. Easy off easy on and easy to cinch it on tight :-)

Uniden BC-95XLT NASCAR Bearcat 200-Channel Portable Scanner

- Handheld scanner for monitoring police and fire signals, weather transmissions, ham radio bands, and more
- PC-programmable memory with 200 channels over 10 banks; Close Call RF technology identifies nearby signals
- Easily locate specific calls with 6 preprogrammed service searches, including public safety, and marine
- Compact design fits comfortably in hand; easy-to-read backlit display, lockable keypad for saving settings
- Runs on 2 AA alkaline or rechargeable batteries (these can be be recharged while in the scanner)
I am also into aircraft band listening and this is still designated within the 6 pre-programmed service band search sequence. Also, the weather bands which don't search automatically (since there are only 7 USA channels) are extremely clear with no static at all. I am extremely pleased with this unit and I am very glad that I was able to get it at this very low price (compared to the bc72xlt which is still just like the old version of the bc95xlt as can readily be confirmed on Uniden's own website).
The unit also has a nice built-in speaker that is surprisingly adequate for everyday listening, but also comes with a mini-plug jack for a monaural earphone (but not supplied surprisingly!). It also has a separate BNC antenna jack (and it does come with the antenna!) as well as analog controls for both squelch and separately for the speaker volume. The LCD display is very nice and easy to read and indicates a multitude of the numerous possible options such as: 1) Low battery indicator (for either regular Alkaline AA cells or Ni-Metal hydride rechargeable batteries with a switch internal to the battery compartment for setting which type is being used), 2) Searching the specific service band search typesWeather (WX), Police (POL), Fire, Aircraft (AIR), Marine (MRN by channel), HAM, etc., 3) Bank Scanning (for user or computer-stored frequencies), 4) Close Call-Capture listening for very nearby sources of unknown origin, 5) DELAY allowances for time departures between outgoing and incoming radio signals, etc.
CON: The unit's belt clip can only be removed by unscrewing the two screws directly from the back of the unit, but on the plus side, it will certainly stay on very snugly and securely when it is needed. Also the serial or USB cable as well as the software needed for using a PC to store frequencies automatically must be purchased separately directly from Uniden.
The unit also comes with an AC adaptor which is probably because the batteries don't last a super long time. Another reviewer estimated a battery lifetime of 5 days for heavy usage.
This is also not the unit to buy if you live in a BIG city where far more expensive trunk-tracking technology is needed to adequately track Police conversations on multiple frequencies for example.

I was scared to buy this item after reading how hard it was to program it from the reviews. It could not be easier! I read the directions through twice which is important and had 5 banks loaded up with all the local agencies in less than an hour. It's a fun toy. I purchased it for emegencies since we live near a oil coker plant. Twice it lit up the sky when they had to release gases. It looked like a bomb had been dropped. When this kind of thing happens all phone lines are busy. No reaching police or fire. Nice to have a scanner!!!!Read Best Reviews of Uniden BC-95XLT NASCAR Bearcat 200-Channel Portable Scanner Here
BEST FEATURES? That it gets the 800 frequencies and its compact size.WORST FEATURES? Too many steps to do stuff, too few buttons (replaced with "Function" button), on/off switch is NOT in the volume control as other scanners usally are.
RECOMMEND TO FIRST-TIME SCANNER BUYER? Most definately!
RECOMMEND TO PREVIOUS SCANNER OWNERS? No way! (You'll understand if you buy one.)
I've owned tons of hand-held scanners since the 60's, and this one has to be the most complicated one I've had when it comes to a few simple features. Searching can be a nightmare to get started. Most scanners only take the simple push of one button to instantly lock out a channel. Not this one: you have to first push the Function button, then Lockout. Anytime you have to push TWO buttons to operate a feature only makes it more complicated to use, especially in the dark. Even with a few other functions there are far too many buttons to press and steps to take. I think Uniden should have just put more buttons on it rather than make a "function" button. Heck, 1 more row of 4 buttons would have solve so many issues! The USB plug is a cool feature if I buy the program, but it seems like adding more complications to an already complicated item. I don't like having an On/Off button in front. I'm used to every scanner I've ever owned only taking a simple turn of the volume knob to turn on or off and this one is far from this easy. It does what it was designed to do: it scans. Not the finest sound quality I've heard. I think the best feature is the compact size. I ride a motorcycle and love having a scanner stuffed into my inside pocket with an earplug in my ear, and this one is perfect for this! I've always dreamed of the day when Uniden or Radio Shack would invent stubby antennaes for scanners (like 3-4 inches would be ideal). Don't get me wrong, I like this scanner and it was an excellent price for a scanner with so many channels. I would possibly recommend this scanner to a friend, but would certainly not buy another one in the future. I'll stick with my old Bearcat 100-channel or my Radio Shack 200-channel, both hand-helds. I only bought this one because of its compact size, which is about the only thing about it that I like so far. As for the reason it eats batteries so fast is because there is only 2. Every scanner I've owned that used only 2 batteries went through them fast! I usually try to find one that uses 4, then pack extra batteries along with me in my car or storage bag.
Many of you will no doubt disagree with my review. That's to be expected. But as I said, I've owned almost every brand of hand-held scanner ever made in the last 40+ years and THIS one has to be the most complicated to operate. Too many buttons to press/steps to take just to do 1 thing.
BUT: I will no doubt purchase Uniden again in the future because, in my opinion, they DO make the BEST scanners out there! Of the probably 15-20 Uniden scanners I've owned, mostly hand-held, THIS ONE is the most complicated to use and has the worst features and power button.
GREAT SCANNER for the first-time scanner buyer! Yes, it scans and searches. Yes, it's compact in size. But for us old scanner enthusiasts from back over the years I believe it's one to avoid.
Want Uniden BC-95XLT NASCAR Bearcat 200-Channel Portable Scanner Discount?
We bought this scanner after much research so we could stay in touch with what's goin' on out there. We live in a rural area so I didn't know what to expect for reception, but we were surprised at the distances for some of the conversations. Fortunately the area we wanted to cover uses only conventional frequencies ( no trunking) so this radio works fine. After reading many reviews and the owner's manual, it really wasn't hard to program. A couple of hints: in the manual you will find some recomended web sites all of which are very good. I don't think I can use site names here, but go to the one with "Reference" in the name and you will find every frequency you could want all cross referenced and searchable. I found the easiest was to bring up the state I was interested in and go from there.
Also, after you find the frequencies you want, organize them on paper however you want, number them 1 to 200 and you are ready. Don't be put off by banks, etc. As you are numbering them, every twenty (#1,21,41,61,etc) starts a new bank. So if there are some you won't use all the time, put them in a separate bank so you can turn them off when you don't need them.
Anyway, the scanner works great, easy to use, sound is fine for a small portable. I'd kinda like to see them come out with a similar unit that could hold 300-500 frequencies, but we are very happy with this one!I received this for christmas, and I really like it a lot, yeah programming is a little hard, but not impossible, there is a lot of frequencies listed on the internet for free, it just takes a little searching and then you can enter known frequencies into it, the user manual sort of stinks, nothing seems too be in generic terms for novices like myself, so there is a learning curve on instructions, so here's a little free help, when your searching for content in your local area like police frequencies, turn on the unit, Press function and 3/Svc button, Police will appear on the display, by pressing it again FIRE and other services will appear, so scan POLICE first, when you hear activity on the radio, Push HOLD button, and FUNC and then E/Pgm button twice. it should enter that frequency into an available bank, and follow same procedures everytime, please read instructions anyways, because it will educate you, and you will find where they forgot to mention something important, outside of that, I like this scanner, for the price, you can't beat it, its better than my base unit, I would recommend this radio for emergencies around the home.

Heated Fleece Travel Electric Blanket - 12 Volt - Red Plaid

The blanket is a lovely, soft, snuggly fleece material. It is a cute black and red plaid. It is a larger size than some of the other electric travel blankets. The plug has a green light that shows you when it is plugged in and on. It is nice because it has an automatic shut off timer on the on/off switch. It does not instantly heat up, but most full sized electric blankets do not do this anyhow either. When the blanket gets going, it provides a wonderful noticeable heat.
The only downside is that it is not machine washable only spot clean. I did not find any of the travel electric blankets that were machine washable though, so this is pretty much par for the course. I think that you may be able to hand wash the blanket as long as the 12 volt plug is covered and kept out of the water (my opinion only of course). The only reason I think this is from my prior experience with traditional electric blankets. You can machine wash those blankets, but it is because the electric plug disconnects. These travel blankets don't have a plug that disconnects... therefore the direction to spot clean only.Love this product. Purchased as a christmas gift for two individuals in wheelchairs. It was the perfect gift. Keeps them warm while traveling without being to big and bulky. Heats up quickly to a comfortable temperature.

We live in the snow and drive 15 minutes to my kids bus stop. They LOVE these blankets. The only disappointment was that I ordered one in solid blue so the kids could tell theirs apart and it came in the red plaid like the other one I ordered. But it all turned out, my son was very happy to have a plaid one and when it is their turn to ride "shotgun" we don't have to switch blankets!!! Gee, they are learning to share!!!Read Best Reviews of Heated Fleece Travel Electric Blanket - 12 Volt - Red Plaid Here
So I bought this to use while I sleep in my camper when it is cold. Works great, but can only be ran for 30-45 mins! After that the timer shuts it off. Went back and read the product description says nothing about shutting off after 30-45 mins. Great for a car ride, bad for a sleeping blanket. Using a thermostat instead of a timer would have been better, I'll probably return.Want Heated Fleece Travel Electric Blanket - 12 Volt - Red Plaid Discount?
This takes 10 minutes to heat up, so don't think it's going to get warm quickly. If you have a need for this, like an older parent who gets very cold in the winter even on short drives, heat it up before you pick them up. It would be nice on a long trip, or if your driving partner likes it really cold in the car.Friday, July 11, 2014

Hardwire Micro USB In Car Power Supply Lead For Raspberry Pi, By DURAGADGET

Pros:
Easy two wire, power and ground. Took all of 5 minutes to splice together wires. Allows me also to charge my cellphone, very convenient. Steady supply, no glitches from this power supply.
Cons:
None really aimed at the product. Shipping took a few weeks but that is not the products fault.
If you are looking to hardwire your Pi into your car this power supply works flawlessly. No random issues with dropping power or hectic pi actions due to unstable supply.

i got a blackberry 9900 two month ago, and i found out that about the poor battery life it has, so bought this car charger for my blackberry 9900. it works perfectly; however, they must mixed my order because it does not fit my blackberry 9900's charger input. it is not worth to send it back so i just threw it away(sad) :(I bought this charger for the price however you get what you pay for unfortunately in most cases. The charger worked fine for about a month and just died on me. I tried it in other car outlets just to verify that the outlet was not the problem and sure enough it does not work no more. The green light is on when it is plugged in but it does not charge the phone. I guess I have to purchase a higher priced charger for it to last.Sunday, June 1, 2014

Power Bright VC300W Voltage Transformer 300 Watt Step Up/Down converter 110/120 Volt - 220/240 Volt

It's not ultra well made, but what do you want at this price? I verified it's properly grounded and fused. And it claims to be CE rated (the European rating agency).
It's also worth noting it gives you the ability to fine tune the voltage a bit with the selector on the back (each mode has 2 different voltages--i.e. 220v or 240v). That could be useful if you have unusually high or low line voltage.
One note: It does NOT have a detachable power cord like shown in the picture. It comes with a regular 120 USA AC cord hard wired in for the input power for step up use. And an adapter to plug is supplied to convert that into a euro plug for step down use.I bought this product three times higher power than what I comsume. Open the box, no installation. plug in the power! Work for me. I user that everyday for two weeks. So far so good. Work fine to me.This converter does the job well. Since it's a single outlet, I chose to attach a multiple-outlet extension cord, to accommodate all of my electrical needs, including a netbook. I didn't have any issues with it blowing fuses. The main reason I bought this was I've lost too many appliances to using just an electrical adapter while traveling overseas and on cruise ships, but when I bought this, I neglected to take into account the weight limits for baggage that is allowed on overseas flights. It added 7 lbs to my luggage and took up too much precious cargo space. I'm now looking for a lighter and leaner one. Anyone interested in buying mine knowing all the limitations?Everything stated by the seller corrispondes to the truth. However you have to be very careful with the three pin plug outputs of the device. One output is for 220V devices (i wonder what is the possible use of a 220V output on a 220-110 converter) If by mistake you plug your 110V device into this output,it wil burn! Just to be sure,i sealed permanently this output with plastic tape...Although it arrived after the date stated, the item itself is great and we have now ordered the 500w version for another product.

Okay, you can pay Apple 59$ to replace your battery and have it last another year and last only 7 hours a charge or you can get this item, which will last a full work week and can be recharged 400 times (that's seven years of battery life IF you use it forty hours a week). The math is simple. It is a bit heavy but I don't wear my ipod on my belt. Excellent alternative to Apple's bad battery engineering.I got this from Amazon, thinking it would be so great to have it. Well; first of all they shipped it to L.A. by ground all the way from Chicago, and you can just imagine how long that took. I waited patiently, and when it arrived I thought; finally, I'll be able to use my ipod for more than an hour at a time. Straight out of the sealed packaging, the battery did not work; it wouldn't charge no matter what I did with it.When I called BTI, they told me that it was likely defective because Amazon sent me an item from 'old stock', which is ridiculous because this is a new model battery that has only been available since May 05'.
I had no choice but to send it to the manufacturer, and had to pay for the shipping myself. That was a week ago, and I'm still waiting for the replacement from BTI, which at this rate could very well also be defective. If so I'll have to try to return it to Amazon this time, and that will be at least three weeks of my life wasted.
If you really need this product, and like me have a dying ipod and can't waste weeks upon weeks waiting to receive a battery that actually works, do yourself a favor and go to the nearest Radio Shack where they sell it for half the price, you can have it in your hands immediately, and if it doesn't work you can go to the actual store and return it on the same day. I only wish I was aware of this when I made the purchase from Amazon...
