Yuasa YUAM620BH YTX20HL-BS Battery

Firstly this is THE brand to get if you have a Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki et al. We're not just talking motorcycles as it's the same battery you use in your jet ski, skidoo, quad bike etc.
Secondly this is the same size as every other generic motorcycle battery; it's not car battery size. It slotted into my Yamaha Road Star Silverado without problem.
Finally it's not a gel battery this is important as it comes with acid you have to pour into the battery and thus it's not going to be pre-charged. If you've never added acid into a battery it's supremely easy, just use the supplied charger and turn it upside down and ram it into the top of the battery. Let it drain for 20 minutes then cap it off using the same plastic strip you took off the charger. Finally trickle charge your battery for at least two hours. Done.
If all this is scary trust me it's not all instructions are included and all it's a perfectly normal procedure. Once it's done your battery is maintenance-free.
If you need a YTX20HL-BS battery then you need look no further there's no other version of the YTX20HL-BS that's a different size or spec. This is what you need. After 4+ years of service I felt like my OEM Yuasa battery should be replaced. The original battery still cranked the unit, but because my 700 Grizzly does not have a pull start I decided to replace it anyway fearing it might let me down miles from my hunting camp. I replaced it with one of the new high performance Yuasa Batteries and you can really tell the difference in starting amps. My engine turns over much faster and starts right up. This will save wear and tear on my starter and gives piece of mind that I won't be let down hunting alone miles from camp. The Yuasa batteries are shipped dry and you put the acid in them. Don't be afraid of this. Yuasa has a bullet proof system to keep from spilling acid and an easy way to seal the battery afterward. My previous ATV had an OEM Yuasa battery and it went 5+ years and when I sold it it was still fine. I never use a trickle charger it just cranks when you push the button. Some of the other guys in my hunting club buy the cheaper batteries from big box stores and they only last 2 years. I highly recommend the Yuasa batteries for trouble free long service. Amazon had the best price I could find on Yuasa batteries.

I'm a firm believer Yuasa batteries, especially their maintenance free is one of the best on the market. The one I replaced in my ATV only lasted 10 years (6 years in m/c) and best of all they are made here in the U.S.of A. and you can't find a better place to order from than amazon.comRead Best Reviews of Yuasa YUAM620BH YTX20HL-BS Battery Here

I love the sleekness of this charger, it's so small, it doesn't take up a lot of space in my rapidly packed up glove compartment. It does get hot while in use however, I'm not sure if that's safe. It makes me feel as if it's about to catch on fire. But I still use it :)My husband bought one for his car. After we received it and found out how handy it is to have the retractable chord and low price, we purchased another for my car to use with my blackberry. It's so affordable and convenient to use!My daughter loves using this because her phone is always low on battery. It is easy to use and gets my daughter's seal of approval.Sunday, April 6, 2014

Incipio offGRID Universal Backup Battery 1 Port 3000mAh for iPod, iPhone and iPad - Black (PW-110)

The Bad: It could be a little high quality:
1. The AC prongs are hard to flip out without help (e.g. a pen or key or anything else to grab/pry). Smaller fingers may have a better time, but my fat fingers can't get in the spot they prongs sit to pull them out. (Really not a big deal, as anything narrow-ish can get them out easily).
2. The USB ports could be deeper, firmer, and better constructed. They work, usually without effort. However, there are certain orientations where the connection fails (usually if there's a little tension on the cord, like if you have a self coiling cable and the plastic thing in the middle of the cable is pulling on the cord a little).
The OK and not their fault:
You should understand that this will charge a modern smart-phone battery about 75%. It's not even a full second battery, but this is what's advertised, and for many people (like me) it's fine.
Other thoughts:
I prefer it to an extended battery because 90% of the time I only really need the standard battery, and don't want to walk around with the extra large version.
I forget what I paid for it, but it seems like it was fairly inexpensive, and at that, it's a nice little tool. The Incipio Technologies 2-port Universal Backup Battery Charger arrived on time from the vendor. The product worked as described. I had expected that it would hold greater than one charge. However, I must admit that I did not read anything in the specification or literature as to how many charges would be provided by this device. I had also purchased a spare battery for my Samsung Captivate. So far, I have found it to be more convenient to install a freshly charged battery rather than to recharge my battery with the Universal Backup Battery Charger. Consequently, I use this product as my backup battery if and when I have used the spare battery. It takes about the same amount of time to charge a discharged battery as my wall charger and I am able to use my phone while it is charging.

Forney 54705 Battery Charger Clamps, 500-Amp, Heavy Duty

Even at 400A that is very optimistic. The copper material is very flimsy at only 0.040" (1mm) thick.
At this thickness the material is easily bend if you were to draw the full 400A for any amount of time
the copper part will melt. The jaw spring is also weak and the claw can be easily compressed so there
is not much holding power when you need it against the battery posts. These were listed as rated for 500 amps, I got the package today and it is plainly listed rated for 400 amps.

This restored a battery that would not take a charge from a standard charger after being run completely flat. The indicators are a bit mysterious and the user has no control over what it's doing. But it paid for itself on first use.Read Best Reviews of OptiMate 6 Ampmatic battery saving charger-tester-maintainer Here
The OptiMate 6 is fantastic. I have had it for a week and used it on 6 AGM batteries ranging from 5 AH to 79 AH in capacity and 6 months to 3 years in age. Two of the batteries were completely dead (wouldn't even light a little light bulb). One of those wouldn't even take a charge from the charger that came with it. The others were in various states of discharge. 5 of the 6 batteries now hold a charge and work as well as new. The 6th had been dead for several months. It now holds a sufficient charge, but is not "like new." I did have to run that one through several cycles of charging to get it to hold the charge. The lights are a little confusing at first, but if you watch what it is doing and read the book, you can understand it. I keep the book next to the charger and review it as necessary. I am very comfortable with it, now, and rarely refer to the manual. As someone else stated, this is not a speed charger with maximum output of 5 amps,
I have seen different places state that this charger is good for different size batteries. The manual states that it is good for batteries ranging in capacity of 3AH to 240AH.
This charger never says it is finished because it goes into a "voltage retention test" mode once it is "finished" charging the first time and then into a maintenance mode where it sends current to the battery occasionally as it detects the need. You could consider the battery charge "finished" at either of these points.
The easiest directions I can give for this thing is to just plug it in and leave it alone until all of the lights stop flashing.

The desulfation mode alone is wonderful! Already, I restored 2 batteries that I could not get to take a charge with a normal charger. This is an amazing product with a series of modes and sequences that is light years above other chargers. Definitely a 5/5, super wise investment on my part!Thursday, December 26, 2013

Needed to replace a prior unit for use in my airplane. Also works fine in a car. This one acquires very quickly, the battery really lasts, and it connects to the laptop painlessly.
The best feature to me is that it auto shuts off 10 minutes after no communication with the host laptop over Bluetooth. That helps me a lot because I was always forgetting to turn off the old one, thus draining the battery.
Great unit!

Three-Way Car Cigarette Lighter Socket Splitter w/ USB Port

First, one of the first things I tried to plug into one of the outlets went in too far, to the point where it wouldn't come out (the springy metal parts that compress when you insert something apparently went in so far that they released on the other side of the sleeve, making it impossible to retract), I ended up needing to break the thing to get it out. Subsequently, using the outlets that still worked, I've been afraid to push things in too far, and maybe that's why things often pop out a bit and I need to re-insert them.
Also, I intended to use the USB port to power some speakers, but it was useless for that because it put a horrible noise into the speakers.
So... it basically works... but you need to be sure not to over-insert things, be prepared for things to pop out on their own, and don't use the USB for an audio device.
UPDATE: Even if you push things good and solidly, they often pop out. The final straw... last night, when I pulled the connecting piece out of the car's lighter socket, that whole part of the assembly fell apart, it's various pieces scattered over the floor of the car, and I never got it back together. This is a cheap product that only worked for about a week. I had difficulty removing it from the socket and I was afraid the cheap plastic would break. Don't waste your time with this splitter.

The product is what I wanted, except it isn't a tight fitting for some things like my cell phone chargers. They wiggle around in the socket and sometimes pop out and/or don't get a good connection. The USB port is the main thing I wanted so that works good I guess, but the 3-way wasn't so good.Read Best Reviews of Three-Way Car Cigarette Lighter Socket Splitter w/ USB Port Here
This appears to be the same as the VR3 item of same appearance which I bought about 6 months ago. It was great while it lasted because my Dodge pickup has a little "cubby" slot that it slipped into so I didn't have the problem of projecting adapters to bang my knee on or interfere with reaching the ignition key. I could also stuff the excess wire from outlet to device out of the way.The USB slot was particularly beneficial because it took a small computer light which was helpful for map or other reading without a lot of ambient light in the cab impacting driver night vision.
Having three DC outlets was great: cell phone, GPS, and radar. I suggest these are the minimum power accesses any vehicle should come from but a few more would be helpful for laptop and cooler. But it needs to be engineered to handle the load or draw.
Mine worked very well for about six months and then quit. Don't know if it (1) just failed or (2) somehow a "short" was inadvertently created by contact across two outlets or (3) perhaps it is just marginally able to carry the load when all outlets are in use. Hence, my middle of the road rating.
Note: The VR3 product does not seem to be available at this time????

I did read a lot of negative reviews about this product. I have a few things to say here:1. It is a cheap product. What else do you get at this price? To think you will get a great thing at this price makes you cheap!
2. It is to be handled a bit delicately. If you try to push or pull device plugs too hard, it can break.
3. I would say, the best way is to plug the devices and leave it. If you are too scared about your GPS or iPod and above all car break in, then just unplug the device. don't unplug the plugs! I do that and I leave all the plugs there itself.
Conclusion: It works absolutely fine. I have now used it for a month. The splitter is in my car and powers my GPS, iPod and charge my blackberry also without any problem. Yes, I always leave the plugs of GPS/ipod and the usb of bb plugged in and hence it is not disturbed at all. Maybe if I plug it a 100 times it can malfunction. If you want to do that there are some 20 dollar splitters that can work for you!

iSimple IS77 Universal iPod and iPhone Audio Input Cable for FM Radios

- The IS77 is designed to provide the connecting link between your audio source and your FM radio.
- Compatible with any Factory or Aftermarket FM Radio.Provides connection for an iPod dock for audio and charging.
- Using the supplied accessories, you can connect virtually any audio source into any FM equipped radio.
- (iS76)Provides universal 3.5mm input for virtually any audio device such as Zune, MP3 etc.
- Two connection options: Provides connection for iPod or a universal 3.5mm input for any audio device
- Supports battery charging for the iPod or iPhone
- Adjustable gain for optimal level matching
- Interrupts incoming antenna signal when in use for best sound performance
- Optional installation for video playback available
My only gripe is that since the sound is being transmitted via an FM modulator, even though it's hard-wired there is still a small amount of sound degradation even if you're connecting via the iPod connector. I quickly got used to it though. I liken it to listening to satellite radio versus a CD. The difference is about the same using this FM modulator.
I bought this at Best Buy for $90. I wish I had bought it from Amazon at the $55 price I see available now. If you're using this w/an iPod or any other device, please note that you control the music through the iPod itself or whatever other device you're connecting, not the stereo you're connecting it to. Personally I prefer controlling the music through the iPod itself since the controls are so intuitive and visual.
Installation of the wiring was pretty straight forward. I connected the power lead to the cigarette lighter.
Also, if you're installing this yourself, I recommend using it for a little while before you permanently mount the power switch and AUX port just in case you change your mind about the mounting location.
I would buy this again and also recommend it to other people. However, if your factory stereo has an unused AUX port on the back of it, I would recommend getting one of iSimple's other products that connect directly to the AUX port on the back of your stereo instead. (Mine is filled by the factory 6-CD changer.) You may lose the flexibility that I have since you'll have to choose between the iPod connector OR a 3.5mm port, but your audio signal shouldn't degrade since you're connecting through an unused AUX connector on the back of your stereo instead of going through an FM channel. I haven't actually compared the sound of the two, I'm just theorizing. You'll also get to control your iPod through the factory stereo which could be a plus for some people.
Buy iSimple IS77 Universal iPod and iPhone Audio Input Cable for FM Radios Now
I bought this because I have an 04 Dodge Ram with a factory in-dash 6 disk changer. I wanted to keep the factory stereo because it works well and it has steering wheel controls. If I bought an aftermarket deck to have an aux in, I would have to spend an additional $200 to have the steering wheel controls wired in with it. After checking with a local audio store, they told me that this auxiliary input was a good model. They sold it for $100 and I found it here on Amazon for about $50. I bought it so that I could use my Droid to stream pandora music through my stereo. This kit feels like a quality unit. The cables and connectors feel firm and tight and the modulator feels solid as well. It comes with all the wires necessary to have an in-dash aux, or an I-pod connector that will charge the Ipod (or Iphone) I bought 2 RCA "Y"s so that I could plug BOTH cables in. I have the Ipod connector in my glove box (in case a passenger is with me and has an i-pod) and I installed the in-dash aux as well. I spliced the power for the modulator in with my cigarette lighter because it is switched with the ignition. All the wiring is fairly self-explanatory and it took me about 1 hour from start to finish.
After putting it all together and trying it out, it works very well! I can be listening to the radio and then flip on the power switch for the modulator. I hit "seek" down and it scans until it gets to the frequency that the modulator is set on. It really out-powers any other radio stations around that frequency. The sound quality from my droid is very good. There is no hiss at high volume when nothing is playing, and it cranks up plenty loud when music is playing. There doesn't seem to be any loss of power from this unit. When I want to listen to the radio, I just flip the switch off, and it's back to normal!
I will post in a few months about the reliability of the unit, but so far it seems to be great! I have posted some pictures of the install up in the images. It is a tan dash and the power switch and input are in the lower right corner

Let me start out by saying the right way for true, high quality iPod integration is with an aftermarket radio. But, for those on a budget that want to listen to and charge their iPod, iPhone and yes, even their ipad2 (that's what I personally use it for) on a factory radio that doesn't have a possibility for an aux input, this is the way to go. Installation wasn't that difficult. The hardest thing was figuring out where to tap in to a 12v power supply. The other quirky thing about the install was drilling the hole in my dash for the switch. The instructions said it was a 9/16 hole which ended up being too small. You may want to drill a couple of test holes to figure out the size before modding you dash. Sound quality was ok. Very clear without any interference but not as crisp as a strong fm station. The highs don't really pop nor does the low end thump, but it was exceptable considering the alternatives. I was shocked that it actually docked and charged my ipad2 without any problems. Overall, I'd recommend it for those who want to keep their factory radio yet use their iproduct.Want iSimple IS77 Universal iPod and iPhone Audio Input Cable for FM Radios Discount?
This is a nice kit because of all the installation choices. I just installed it in my 1998 Civic with both the iPod dock connector in my center console and the 3.5mm female jack in a hole I drilled in my dashboard column. If you really need both options active all the time, get 2 of these: RiteAV RCA Splitter Male to Female. I'll use the iPod dock 99% of the time so I'm good connecting it that way only, and reaching under the dash to switch the connectors if I ever need the 3.5mm jack. The rest of the installation was easy as long as you can access some kind of accessory power that is switched on when the ignition or the stereo is on. I used the 12V cigarette lighter. Just gently splice the kit's power wires into those +12V and GND wires, and you're good. Then attach to your stereo's antenna connector. Then just stuff all the wires somewhere in the dash. The iPod dock connector also charges your device, except for iPads -you'll see that "Not Charging" message.
The audio is decent. Levels are just a little lower than my factory installed CD player. And at high volume you'll hear a faint scratchy hum during silent periods. Also, the hi-frequency range is lower, so increasing the treble will help. Certainly not CD quality, but not bad for an FM modulator kit and for the price, and a good option for older cars and factory stereos. I'm very happy with it.Good product, minimal quality loss. Ipod charging is a big plus. I helped my brother install a competitors product in his truck. He paid half what I did, and had similar sound quality, but no Ipod connects. Good product if no other Ipod connection options are available.

Replacement for WKA12-5F - 12 volt 5 ah battery

Buy Replacement for WKA12-5F - 12 volt 5 ah battery Now
DID NOT WORK!This item is lowest grade and unreliable. I have installed it as a backup for an alarm system and
it worked for merely 10 days. Then the alarm system beeped to indicate a low battery status again.
For comparison: My old battery (same specifications, 12V, 5Ah) worked for 5 years.
Should this new item be really exhausted after 10 days without ever being loaded once ?
We never lost AC power in these days, so how can a new battery be exhaused so quickly?
Since I could not believe it, I first blamed the electronics for a false battery alarm and cleared
the battery status several times by disconnecting the AC transformer (according to the advise of experts).
With this correct installation procedure, the battery indication went off, but only for 10 days first
and then only minutes thereafter until the alarm system always indicated a low battery status over and over again
with annoying beeping.
Consequently, the battery voltage must drop below the required
level (~11.7V) after a short time, while the AC is actually powering the whole system.
There is always a tiny minimal load, i.e. for the control unit in the house.
In fact, I used my digital multimeter to check the battery voltage under full load to the alarm system (disconnecting the AC manually).
It dropped below 11V after seconds! This is below the required DC voltage to power the system.
If it is not loaded (AC transfomer powered) it shows 13.6V, but only for a short time and then the voltage
declines until the electronis indicate the low battery status. I even measured a steady voltage drop
with the battery de-installed just connecting the two leads of my Multimeter to it.
There should not be a voltage decline measuable with such a high-ohmic load.
This means the battery dischages even with the tiniest load.
This "new" battery actually exhausts after 10 days of unloaded use.
Wow! This is a welcome to burglars!
At least my alarm system is not malfunctioning.
Meanwhile I have ordered a battery from a different vendor to secure our house.
This seller did not respond to my complaint after a couple of days and I am filing a claim to get a refund.
A total disappointment so far.

I was looking for something that would run a 1400 watt coffee maker for the Motorhome as well as the 1000 watt microwave. The key for me was the remote switch so I can mount it out of the way. This works perfectly, not both appliances at the same time but each separately is no problem. Lots of battery (3 group 29 batteries) with huge 4 Awg wiring within 3 feet of each other. Figure 1400 watts is 140 amps so be prepared for this.Want Cobra CPI1575 3000w Car Power Inverter w/Remote Control Discount?
I installed this inverter on my boat to run a few appliances so I don't have to run the generator. I tried it on the largest power consumer, the 900W microwave. Inverter shuts down (and yes, battery bank is fully charged to almost 14V and load test perfect). This IS NOT a 1500W inverter as described! Also, the low-voltage shutdown feature kicks in at 11.4V, WAY above the 10.0V listed in the manual! This is the cheapest inverter I've ever bought (regrettably). Will not buy a Cobra again. Over-rated, misleading specs. Junk
