Forney 54705 Battery Charger Clamps, 500-Amp, Heavy Duty

The packaging itself says it is rated for 400A but yet on the website it is advertised as 500A clamps.

Even at 400A that is very optimistic. The copper material is very flimsy at only 0.040" (1mm) thick.

At this thickness the material is easily bend if you were to draw the full 400A for any amount of time

the copper part will melt. The jaw spring is also weak and the claw can be easily compressed so there

is not much holding power when you need it against the battery posts.

These were listed as rated for 500 amps, I got the package today and it is plainly listed rated for 400 amps.

Can't say too much about battery clamps, but they work great and do the job as far as clamps go. They came on time and the price was un-beatable.
