Retractable Wall / Car Charger Combo Pack for Samsung Galaxy S 4G

Retractable Wall / Car Charger Combo Pack for Samsung Galaxy S 4GRetractable cord is great for in the car. No issues so far. But, wall charger cord is only about 3' long. It barely reaches from the outlet on the baseboard to the top of the back of my desk. I have to hold it there with a heavy object so that the end does not keep slipping behind the desk.

I've used both the wall and car charger for my Galaxy S 4G in the week or so since I received the items. Both charge my phone and retract as described. The cord is a little bit short, which is my only problem. The packaging doesn't specify that this is for a Galaxy S 4G specifically but is instead intended for most modern mobile phones and I've also successfully used it on an HTC Radar.

Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for iPod (Black)

Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for iPodIf you're looking for info on how well this works with headsets, I'm sorry to say that I don't own a BT headset (yet). This review focuses on the transmitter in conjunction with a Sony BT receiver that I use to connect my iPod to my home receiver, since that was the primary reason that I got one of these. But hopefully you'll still find something useful.

First off, Amazon's two sentence product description is a bit too brief, so here are some specs from the packaging:

Communication System:

Bluetooth Specification version 2.0 + EDR

Output:

Bluetooth Specification Power Class 2

Maximum communication range:

Line of Sight approx 10m (30 ft)

Freqency band:

2.4 GHz band (2.4000 GHz 2.4835 GHz)

Modulation method:

FHSS

Compatible Bluetooth Profile:

A2DP, AVRCP

Supported Codec:

SBC

Supported Passcode:

0000, 1234, 8888

Terminal:

iPod connector

Compatible iPod models (official):

iPod nano 1st generation

iPod nano 2nd generation (aluminum)

iPod mini 1st generation

iPod 4th generation

iPod 4th generation (color display)

iPod 5th generation (video)

Although the compatibility list does not mention it, this add-on definitely works with the iPod classic, because that's what I'm using. The terminal is the current standard 30-pin connector, so if your iPod is more recent than the above list, chances are that it will probably work... but I can only speak for the classic.

CONTENTS:

The package comes with:

iPod Bluetooth transmitter

manual

One funny note regarding the packaging: I couldn't believe how HUGE the packaging was for such a small item!! The main photo on the package depicts an iPod with the transmitter cleverly placed in view right below the iPod photo, where it would plug in. It certainly catches the eye.

USAGE:

It couldn't be simpler You just turn on your iPod and connect the transmitter to the port, and in order to activate it, you set your receiving device into pairing mode and then hold down the button on the transmitter for about 7 seconds until the two devices are paired. That's it.

SOUND:

Overall, I find the sound quality on the receiving side to be excellent. I base my opinion on headphone comparisons between:

a) plugging directly into the iPod and

b) plugging into my Bluetooth receiver unit

As far as I can tell, the sound is pretty much identical, although a bit lower in volume, but that may due to my Bluetooth receiver.

For reference, I'm using the transmitter in conjunction with the Sony HWS-BTA2W Bluetooth wireless audio transmitter/receiver as my Bluetooth receiver. Both these two devices support Bluetooth 2.0 and A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile). For audio comparisons, I used a pair of Sony MDR-V700DJ Monitor Series Headphones.

One important thing to note is that you cannot control the volume of the transmitted sound. I'm not exactly sure why that is, but it appears to be by design. All your iPod controls behave as they normally do and you can even move the volume slider up or down, however it has no effect on the transmitted sound. Some functions, however, do still affect the sound, such as "Sound Check", "Volume Limit", and all the "EQ" settings. Since these features still work, I'm assuming that the lack of volume control is by design. The volume output is the max allowed by the Volume Limit setting.

My only guess is that the volume control is to be used in conjunction with AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile), but I don't have such a device to confirm. I don't know if this happens on other iPod bluetooth adaptors, but I could see the inability to control the volume via the iPod becoming an issue if you want to use it with a BT headset (unless the headset has volume controls)

RANGE:

The packaging states "Line of Sight approx 10m (30 ft)". I had thought that Bluetooth did not require line of sight, but Sony clearly states so and for the most part, it holds true for this unit. I have tested up to around 25 feet with clear line of sight and the sound remaind crisp and clear. Clothing also did not present any problems. I buried the iPod and transmitter under a pile of ski clothing with no effect.

But once you block the path with walls or other sources of interference, the signal will start to become choppy or completely cut off. Be warned that your body can also block the signal. Cupping my hands completely around the transmitter would pretty much turn the signal to crap beyond only a few feet from the BT receiver. In most cases, as long as I'm witin a one or two feet, the signal still comes through, but the more I block the signal and the further I go, the more the signal would degrade, as is to be expected.

As far as home use goes, as long as I'm in the same room and not actively trying to block the signal, I haven't had any problems.

DESIGN:

The design is about as simple as you can get. It has a single big button in the center, which you can use for various functions (turning on/off, pairing) and a bright blue light which signals the unit's activities. It is completely powered by the iPod, so no extra power supply or battery is required.

I have seen similar Bluetooth attachments for the iPod which are little blocks the same width as the iPod. Personally, I prefer the small design of the Sony. One major factor that I like about it is that I can plug it into my iPod without removing it from its protective case. I use a leather casing by INCASE which only leaves me an opening for the 30-pin connector at the bottom.

My main pet peeve that I have about most block adaptors is that while they may blend better with the iPod in overall shape, there aren't any cases (that I know of) available that fit an iPod WITH attachments, so if you use a case and want to connect something, chances are you'll have to remove the iPod from its case before plugging in your accessory. The Sony might make for an odd shape, but for my purposes at least, it works better and I think that it still looks pretty slick.

One thing that Sony could have added, however, is a locking clip for the transmitter. The transmitter sits pretty snugly and doesn't feel like it'll fall out by accident, but it would have been nice to have that extra sense of security.

CONCLUSION:

The unit is a bit pricey, but overall I'm quite satisfied with its functionality. The sound quality is good and for my purposes, I haven't had any problems with signal strength.

As an aside, my primary goal was to connect my iPod to my home speaker system. I was originally looking at the iPod Universal Dock, but found it to be completely worthless, since the remote control could only play/pause/skip prev/next and control the volume. For actually selecting music, I still had to go up to the dock in order to browse for my music. And who wants to get up to change music anyway? :)

Using this Bluetooth setup, I can now use my iPod as a fully functional "remote" (except for volume) and have my music come out of my main speaker system. I do wish I could have the option of charging my iPod while it's broadcasting (since the charging port is occupied by the transmitter), but the fact that I can keep my iPod in its protective case and the nice compact size and look of the transmitter makes for a decent tradeoff. Bottom line: If you have a nice home speaker setup, I totally recommend going this route!

**UPDATE 12/13/2007**

Just a few more quick notes and clarifications (as if this review wasn't long enough, eh?) since I've been using it for about a month now... and I still LOVE this device!

Usage:

I should clarify my above comment that it only requires pairing with your receiving device ONCE (like most BT devices). After the initial pairing you can unplug it and only plug it back into the iPod when you want to use it. If you're near your previously paired receiving device, all you have to do is plug the transmitter into your iPod and hit play, and the receiver should immediately pick up your audio signal. To preserve battery life, the iPod transmitter only transmits if you're actually playing music, which is pretty good.

Lack of volume control:

After having read other reviews for similar attachments, the fixed volume output appears to be normal. For my purposes, it would have been nice if I could have controlled volume directly from the iPod, but I'll live. At least I know that it wasn't necessarily a design-flaw in this particular device.

If you've tried another Bluetooth transmitter for your iPod, you may be stunned at just how small this one is (see my product picture relative to coins).

As others have said, it pairs very easily and since it draws power from the iPod, it doesn't require charging.

Some additional notes:

The size of the button is very convenient for any size fingers (many units feature extremely small buttons).

The unit fits securely in the iPod and does not break connection if you shake the iPod, and I mean SHAKE it. Great even for robust exercise.

The power it draws from the iPod is minimal, having only a negligible effect on the battery charge. In this configuration, it outlasts the charge of my Motorokr S9 Headphones

The sound quality is excellent. My previous Bluetooth transmitter was never so clear.

The range is the best I've come across for a Bluetooth device. As an experiment, I connected the device to my iPod in my bedroom and then went downstairs to do some laundry. The sound was clear and uninterrupted until I got to the laundry room door, about 30-35 feet from my iPod.

You really can't go wrong with this unit. It's more expensive than some of the others, but you'll love the convenience and level of performance.

This Bluetooth adapter does work with the iPhone in spite of the message you get when you plug it in. The message states that it doesn't and asks you if you want to switch to airplane mode. Just answer no and continue. The key to getting it to work is to start whichever application you are using to play before you plug in the adapter. My only problem is that occasionally if I'm moving with the iPhone on my belt, the sound will "cut out" for a second.

I just received my iPhone 3G this week, and like many people, I was extremely unhappy that it did not come with Bluetooth support for my Motorola S9 stereo headset. For the life of me, I can't figure out why Apple chose not to support the Bluetooth A2DP standard. I expected more from a company on the leading edge of digital stereo and smart phone integration.

Fortunately, Sony came to the rescue with their TMR-BT8IP Bluetooth Transmitter. This small device plugs into the iPhone 30-pin connector and gets power from it, so there is no charging necessary (very nice). It comes in black or white, so it matches the current iPhone colors nicely. Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for iPod (White) Sony Bluetooth Wirleless Transmitter for iPod (Black)

I have been using the Motorola S9 with my Samsung Blackjack for about a year and half, and I love it. I have become hooked on listening to high quality stereo with no wires to get tangled. As an added bonus, you can pick up phone calls without missing a beat, and even redial without touching the phone. Motorola MOTOROKR S9 Bluetooth Version 2 Wireless Stereo Headset for Cell Phone

Getting everything to play well together was a pain, but now that it's working, I'm a very happy with Sony, and Motorola, but still annoyed with Apple! Apple fumbled the ball here, which added an unnecessary $60 expense to the iPhone along with hours of frustration...

Hopefully, the following instructions can help mitigate some frustration for other buyers of iPhone.

The trick to getting everything to play together is to recognize that the iPhone's built-in Bluetooth is used to control the phone features of the headset, and the Sony Bluetooth transmitter is used to control the stereo music features of the headset. You must pair the headset with the Sony transmitter first, and then pair the headset with the iPhone.

1. Turn off Motorola headset

2. Turn on bluetooth on iPhone

3. Plugin Sony to iPhone

4. Answer no to the iPhone Prompt "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone" this comes up every time :(

5. Press and hold Sony button for 7 seconds until blue LED flashes quickly

6. Press and hold Motorola headset power button until blue LED goes solid

7. Sony and Motoorla will automatically pair

8. Stereo music should now be heard on headset

9. Press and hold Sony button for 3 seconds until it tops playing music

10. Unplug Sony transmitter from iPhone

11. Turn off Motorola headset

12. Use iPhone Bluetooth control to start scanning for devices

13. Press and hold Motorola headset power button until blue LED goes solid

14. Motorola headset should show up on iPhone as unpaired

15. Pair iPhone with Motorola headset

16. Headset can now answer incoming calls using left ear button or iPhone answer

17. Plugin Sony to iPhone

18. Press and hold Sony button for 2 seconds

19. Stereo music should now be heard on headset

Even I still have trouble getting this script to work consistently, but rest assured, if you're persistent, it can be made to work, and it works very well. It's just a shame it has to be this painful Shame on you Apple...

Want Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for iPod (Black) Discount?

I bought this because I had already purchased the Sony DRBT-50 headphones ( which are also Bluetooth ).

I was pleasantly surprised at how easily it paired with the headphones, and how good the sound quality was.

The range seems to be about 20 ft ( unobstructed view ) from the iPod with this transmitter and the DRBT-50s..

( which was also a pleasant surprise, I am used to bluetooth's range usually being about 12 ft or so with the equipment I currently own ) After that range the signal started to drop out.

The device is powered by the iPod, so it cuts down on the playing time of the iPod ( I haven't determined how long it will last yet )

There is no way to control the volume with the iPod or this device, I needed to use the volume controls on the headphones ( which did a good job )

All in all, I am very pleased with this purchase.

I'm still using it as a car charger, but the AC plug broke. The body is made of some buttery plastic.

The first time you encounter an AC outlet that demands a little pressure to insert a plug, be prepared to see the metal prongs retract and disappear inside the plastic body.

It's cheap though, so I'm not too disappointed.

Delphi SA10109 Delphi XM Roady2 Personal Audio System

Delphi SA10109 Delphi XM Roady2 Personal Audio SystemIf you already have a Roady2 , and you're looking for a portable solution, you will like this product. It does everything it says it does. It is very heavy, though, and I wouldn't recommend it for jogging. I use it at my gym when I'm on the treadmill, and for this purpose it works well. If you haven't purchased a Roady2, you might as well get the Myfi. It's a lot more expensive but when you add up the cost of the Roady2 and the Delphi Personal Audio System, you'll end up spending the same amount of money. Overall, it's good but not great.

Just a quick warning, this thing is heavy. The battery pack is a lot of weight. Go to the store and pick it up in your hands to feel for sure. For the price of this and the Roady2, you might as well get the portable unit to begin with.

Great Signal (better than a MyFi XM2Go ) because the XM antenna is on the top of the headphones . Even in the woods fair Signal some cutouts. But poor Case design VERY hard to get out of The dock to use in your car.

Pros. Great signal (with NO repeaters)

FM Radio As a backup (but unless your underground

You'll have good signal)

Cons. VERY BAD CASE DESIGN feels cheep , very hard to remove

Roady 2 from The Personal Audio System.

This system has several things wrong with it. For starters is the price, way to high for such a low quality product. The Roady's signal is constintly being lost, even when staying almost completly still. For a product made for people on the move, this product simply doesn't work. On top of the bad reception, the system is frail. Mine broke the first day, while trying to remove the Roady from it.

also, while the roady is plugged into it, you can not use the Roadies FM transmitter, to play your music where you take it.

I do not recomend this product for anyone, unless you thibnk you can get a good deal on it. I thought I was at the time, but wasted my money, perhaps I can save someone else's money.

Want Delphi SA10109 Delphi XM Roady2 Personal Audio System Discount?

First off, I am going to be a little more forgiving of this item because I was able to purchase it for $39.00 on closeout.

For the price I paid this unit is outstanding. I have not ran into the problems of getting the Roady in and out that others have experienced. It seems to be a fairly easy process of pressing in on two latches and pulling the case apart. I was very concerned after reading the reviews here that this would be an issue. But I have been able to get the Roady out each and ever time in a few seconds. The Roady does fit snuggly inside the case but I would rather have this than the Roady falling out in my hand.

The case could be made of a little more sturdy plastic, but this would also add to the weight. The case and Roady together weigh about as much a portable CD player. Most of the weight can be attributed to the battery.

As far as reception goes I have been able to get a strong signal short of standing in a six foot hole. I purchased the portable player because I have several hundred acres of land to attend to, and it helps me keep my sanity. I have not ran into an area where the signal drops out on me as of this time.

The headset is not exactly top of the line....but what are you to do? You can't exactly buy a set of Bose headphones and tear the antenna out of included set. So....your stuck for the moment with what comes with in the package.

For the price I paid I can't complain other than the headset. I personaly have not ran into the problems of getting the Roady out of the case to put in my car. The reception is great I can get a signal when my friend with a XM2Go can't.

Its a nice setup but not for $120.00 or so dollars...if it can be found for under 50.00 get it.....you wont regret it.

Sunforce 22007 Coleman 7.5W Folding Panel

Sunforce 22007 Coleman 7.5W Folding PanelDuring this review, I am going to be comparing the Sunforce 22007 Coleman 7.5W Folding Panel to the Goal Zero Nomad 7, which is the only other solar charger that I have had experience with and the product with which it is competing. Right out of the box, I was impressed by its compactness. I opened its velcro latch and spread it out. The charger has square, polycrystalline solar panels that make efficient use of space. The panels don't have a perfect appearance, as the horizontal conductive lines are inconsistent, but I don't expect this to hurt the panel's performance. Along the edges it has rope loops that are meant to be attachment points, which are comparable to the Nomad 7. On the back of the panel, there is a zipper enclosure that includes a power regulator which has a permanently attached 12 Volt adapter and a female, USB port. When you unzip the pouch all the way, the 12 Volt adapter tends to fall out. I couldn't wait to test it out, so I ran outside and pointed it toward the sun. At 3 in the afternoon on a clear day, I measured 5 Volts and .83 amps (A little over 4.15 watts). Compared this to the Goal Zero Nomad 7, which measured 5 Volts at .65 amps (3.28 watts) under the same conditions. I am guessing this difference in performance is due to the 0.5 extra watt of power rating from the Coleman Sunforce panel, as well as a better USB power regulator.

I tested the panel in low light conditions: An overcast morning, and it didn't produce any power, whereas the Goal Zero Nomad 7 did produce 5 Volts at 40 mA. This difference is probably due to polycrystalline solar panels vs monocrystalline solar panels, which are known for the low light efficiency. This was a very low light test.

I also tested it in a mostly cloudy midday sun situation: The Sunforce Coleman panel produced 5 Volts at .35 amps, whereas the Nomad 7 produced 5 Volts at .3 amps. They were both able to start a charging cycle on my phone under these conditions: 65 percent sky coverage according to the National Weather Service with stratocumulus perculidus clouds, with very little sky visible. This result reinforced my confidence in the Sunforce panel, given my foggy morning test the day before.

I purchased this solar charger to provide me with power while camping, so its compact nature is a plus, and it will be an invaluable resource when in an emergency situation. Knowing that you will be able to charge your communication and navigation devices with only the power of the sun is a great feeling. At this price, I couldn't pass trying it out, as I intend on getting more as gifts.

Compared to Goal Zero:

Pros:

Better output. at 3 PM 5 Volts .8 amps compared to 5 Volts .65 amps with Goal Zero in direct sunlight.

Smaller

Lighter (Even with 12V adapter. It isn't removable)

Cons:

12 Volt adapter tends to flop about when you open the zipper.

The usb port is very close to the zipper enclosure if you intend to enclose your charging device within the zipper. (This may have not been intended by the designer)

Perhaps slightly less low light performance.

I don't have any special equipment to give you hard numbers on voltage or amperage but I can tell you that it will charge my iPad2 to 87% with out the need for an external battery pack like my Nomad 7 system does.

The unit is not as "universal" as the Goal Zero system, but it does have a 12 cigarette lighter permanently attached for 12 volt charging and a single USB plug.

Edit 1-11-13

I'm updating my review and taking away 2 starts as it no longer functions after being exposed to moisture/rain. I plugged in my panel to charge a lawn tractor battery that powers my gate on a cloudy day. It started to rain, but I was not worried as the charger was out of the direct rain fall and it is "weatherproof". The next day I went out with my volt meter and was not getting any output from the 12 volt plug or any power from the USB plug.

I still think this panel is a good overall deal, but it is not weatherproof.

---Up date/ Feb 17,2013-----

My second one was broken. When I used it with putting on windshield of my car under the sun, and when I removed it

from the windshield in evening, this panel got quite hard to fold completely but I pushed it to fold it.

Since then it didn't create voltage. When I open it and change open angle from 0-270 deg, it won't make voltage, but

if I open it over 270deg, it makes 16.5V at cigar socket under full sunlight.

I am sure somewhere in folding part wire was cut in side.

I change my mind from my original review that it maybe not good product.

Anyway,

I wondered how this only two panels makes more than 12V.

I disassemble everything and found circuit board in the black box where the cigar socket wire and USB output are there.

On the circuit board, there's a L7805CV which is 5V,1A regulator for USB and MC34063A which is a switching regulator

IC that can be used for voltage step up/down or inverting to AC and it is used as step up converter on this circuit board.

I fed 9V to the circuit wires where solar panel power come in and cigar socket output is about 16.5V.

This is why this small 2 panel makes such high voltage.

DO NO USE it WITH SOLAR CHARGE CONTROLLERS.

Solar charge controllers often have reverse voltage when it is connected to battery at night.

This cigar socket has schottky barrier diode SS14 in the black box but it seems my 1st 7.5W solar's

circuit was broken by reverse voltage from charge controller, SK-6. SK-6 was also broken at the same time.

======Original review=============================================

This is my first solar panel. It has 1 USB port and 1 cigar lighter socket.

Open circuit voltage goes to more than 40V in full sunlight here in Houston. Typical would be 18V.

Short circuit current is about 600mA and slightly more, 12V x 0.6A =7.2W, so it work as it is advertised.

I do not use USB port so much so I do not know well about it drives my USB fan which other solar/lithium

ion battery couldn't drive.

Actually I bought this panel twice, first was from local shop about $46, 2nd in amazon, Amazon was much cheaper than the shop.

I also never see this power of folding panel in this price. It's really good price for folding/7.5W panel.

I broke my 1st one so I disassemble all cover of it and found it was quite well made,

It was really hard to disassemble. Glue was all over the back side of the panel except only

soldering connection points.

Panel its self is water proof but I would say 12V to 5V convert circuit would not be water proof.

As other review also reports, yes the pocket zipper should come from the other way, I agree that.

but this time I modified my panel so this won't be problem for me.

Anyway it's good for my first experiment of Solar charging. I'll step up to bigger wattage panel next.

Read Best Reviews of Sunforce 22007 Coleman 7.5W Folding Panel Here

I actually put this on my head and walked around with it during a rally. It baarrely kept my phone up. This is because the panels are crystalline and they don't put out much if they don't have full sun. On the other hand, the flexible thin film panels don't get as much power per square centimeter even when they have full sun. So it's a trade off. These panels performed as expected. When left in the sun and not moved they kept my device fully charged. And the price is the best you can find, name brand even, seems like it will last.

I use it to charge the battery pack that I have. This in conjunction with the panels for the battery charge the 9200mAh battery in 2 days, without ever being plugged in. The battery pack fully charged, can charge up my ipad a little over one time from a really dead battery.

Old World Automotive Prod PKC0J6 'Peak' Jump Starter With Inflator - 12 Volt 600 AmpPeak PKC0J6 I bought and unboxed this unit and it does not contain any type of inflator either built in or as a separate unit. In fact there must be some manufacturers confusion with this version and next version up. Or perhaps bad interpretation of Mandarin.

This was the only product I bought on Black Friday 2012. Days later my neighbor rang my bell after leaving her car light on overnight and I brought it over to jump her Honda SUV. It delivered enough power to cause the engine to turn over a bit, but not enough to start it. Useless. Strangely, the nationwide store where I bought it also advertised it as "with inflator." It definitely doesn't come with the inflator. According to the box, the next model up has an inflator, but the inflator also gets poor reviews.

Powermate PM0106507 Vx Power Series 8,125 Watt 420cc Gas Powered Portable Generator With Electric S

Powermate PM0106507 Vx Power Series 8,125 Watt 420cc Gas Powered Portable Generator With Electric StartEverything about this generator came just in time.

On the Friday before Hurricane Sandy hit I finally agreed with my husband that we needed a generator. No stores in my local area had any stock (Since all the smart people had already purchased one and I live in NJ) so I logged into Amazon, spent some time on reviews and decided on this one. I must have hit the "buy" button about 10:30AM ish. By evening I recieved a shipped notice from Amazon with a delivery date of Tuesday. (please note that since I have prime, this item shippped 2 day and free) The generator actually arrived Monday afternoon, just as the storm was starting. So, it was in my house in ONE (yes 1) business day!!

All the comments are correct, the battery is a pain btw...

My husband put it together and we found that the electronic start does not work at the begining. (Don't fret, our theory is that it needs a slight charge to do it. It worked every time afterwards) It started on the first pull and chugged along assisting us through 13 days without power. Now, we did not run it all the time because of the gas shortages but the beast did a commendable job.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind.

1. you can't run it outside while it is raining. One of those snowball things. It never dawned on me that it would need its own house.

2. Its loud... no question about it. They all seem loud, so its not worrying to me.

3. Buy the oil for its first oil change now, do not wait till you are in the middle of a storm to try to find oil.

4. If you put it in the shed to run, make sure all the doors/windows are open, even if it is raining.

5. we found that it would run at a moderate load for about 12 hours.

6. It ran the freezer, fridge, husbands PC network (this is not just a computer) cable router, tv, dvd, playstation, kitchen and living room lights, while charging a plethera of electronic gadgets) without breaking a sweat. I even used it to run the washing machine a few times.

First of all I do not make any major electrical purchases without reviewing all options for at least 2-3 weeks. I read reviews, shop for best prices & compare product features. I have used this generator 3 times so far and it is just as expected, It has performed admirably. All of the issues the other reviewers spoke of are minor but accurate. You should know that this thing is heavy and the battery needs to be connected. I can't think of a single problem so far and I've had this thing over a year. If I had to buy a generator all over again I would buy this one.

I ordered this generator during a 5 day power outage, which was over by the time the generator came in. I went ahead and took delivery, not wanting to ever be caught without one again. As another reviewer noted, it's hard to connect the battery cable because of its location. The oil filler hole is hidden behind the trim panel and is hard to get to. Can't be seen at all unless you bend down and look up under the panel. Comes with a funnel and tubing which is necessary to add oil. Started right up with no problems. Have not had to use it yet, hope I never have to.

Easy to unpack, clear instructions to install the wheels/legs.

A little difficult to connect the negative cable to the battery. No instructions on how to do it. Difficult until in frustration I loosened the battery so I could see the damn thing!

Oil required was a little more than a quart, again no amount given for the requirement. I added about 1 1/4 quarts, and it over flowed. Not a big deal, but wanted to do it right.

Started in 2 seconds. I used a halogen lamp and a fan to load the output (and blow the exhaust out of the garage) to run for awhile, nothing like the 6500W I expect out of it.

I am very satisfied with the product, I have another, smaller generator I'm happy with too just too small and I have to start it by hand. I think these smaller generators are built really well, seem to always work for me.

I hope I remember to keep this updated.

I'm happy now. Thanks Amazon.

pulled generator out before sandy and made sure it was ready to run, fired it up, all was ok. It began running roughly after about 8 hours of operation despite using fresh gas, and then failed at 10 hours. Warranty service is nearly non-existant, i finally found a source in december about 15 miles from my home and it is still at the shop with no estimate of completion, not a really good experience with an expensive generator,

this is really a 'plug and play' electronic. Literally, plug, tune radio and charger to open station and my music app played. You may have to move from station after it's not as clear anymore or you will start to hear your RPM thru the radio. Added bonus it charges your phone while you play or your battery would be dead after 30 min.

Incipio offGRID Universal Backup Battery 1 Port 3000mAh for iPod, iPhone and iPad - Black (PW-110)

Incipio offGRID Universal Backup Battery 1 Port 3000mAh for iPod, iPhone and iPad - BlackThe Good: It does what it says it does.

The Bad: It could be a little high quality:

1. The AC prongs are hard to flip out without help (e.g. a pen or key or anything else to grab/pry). Smaller fingers may have a better time, but my fat fingers can't get in the spot they prongs sit to pull them out. (Really not a big deal, as anything narrow-ish can get them out easily).

2. The USB ports could be deeper, firmer, and better constructed. They work, usually without effort. However, there are certain orientations where the connection fails (usually if there's a little tension on the cord, like if you have a self coiling cable and the plastic thing in the middle of the cable is pulling on the cord a little).

The OK and not their fault:

You should understand that this will charge a modern smart-phone battery about 75%. It's not even a full second battery, but this is what's advertised, and for many people (like me) it's fine.

Other thoughts:

I prefer it to an extended battery because 90% of the time I only really need the standard battery, and don't want to walk around with the extra large version.

I forget what I paid for it, but it seems like it was fairly inexpensive, and at that, it's a nice little tool.

The Incipio Technologies 2-port Universal Backup Battery Charger arrived on time from the vendor. The product worked as described. I had expected that it would hold greater than one charge. However, I must admit that I did not read anything in the specification or literature as to how many charges would be provided by this device. I had also purchased a spare battery for my Samsung Captivate. So far, I have found it to be more convenient to install a freshly charged battery rather than to recharge my battery with the Universal Backup Battery Charger. Consequently, I use this product as my backup battery if and when I have used the spare battery. It takes about the same amount of time to charge a discharged battery as my wall charger and I am able to use my phone while it is charging.

EMPIRE Retractable Car Charger (CLA) for Verizon Motorola DROID RAZR

EMPIRE Retractable Car Charger for Verizon Motorola DROID RAZR2 out of three isn't bad, I guess. It is an Empire product and it is for the Razr Droid. Where things get a little off is in the "retractable" part. I did not receive the item pictured, but instead one with the standard issue springy coiled wire. It works well. Not what I thought I was getting.

Should have read the other reviews before purchasing this. Device stopped working after 1 day, no explanation for it's failure other than poor design. It wasn't damaged or misused in anyway. I do not recommend buying this, there's too many people reporting failures... it has to be a problem in it's design. Processed my return with Amazon, will hopefully get my money back soon.

Worked great on my Nano for approx 5 months, but when I plugged in the iPhone4 it charged for 5 mins and then stopped working. Not sure if it was the phone or the converter. Will try another company.

Worked fine to charge my iphone 4 using the existing cord in my car. UNTIL the phone ran. As I was talking on it I started to smell an electical burning smell. It was this converter. Dont know if its the Iphone 4 or this product, but I suggest steering clear of this if you have an iphone 4.

MPPT Tracer 2215RN EP Solar Charge Controller Regulators 20A + Remote Meter LCD Display (MT5) for S

MPPT Tracer 2215RN EP Solar Charge Controller Regulators 20A + Remote Meter LCD Display for Solar Regulator with 2 Meters CableYou may find cheaper MPPT charge controllers on Amazon but read the specs and the reviews carefully. Some are ordinary controllers that somehow have been allowed to be advertised as MPPT. This one does what it says and is great for small scale experimental solar projects like the one I'm building. I especially wanted one with a display to easily monitor the parameters and what was going into the batteries without having to be measuring with my multimeter all the time. With the proper gauge wire, fuses etc. this unit (fed by a 100W monocrystalline panel which was doubled to 200W last night) keeps 180aH of batteries charged after an overnight drain running my multiple-tank aquarium set-up (25-125W, 0.25 1.7A draw through a pure sine wave inverter). My old PWM controller used to choke during peak hours (10am 2pm) and default to float mode here in the tropics (10 degrees north latitude). The Tracer keeps going all day and harvesting all the power that the other charge controller just wasted even with the efficiency drop due to panel heating.

If you've been fooling around with solar power long enough like me, this one was a breeze to set up. My only regret was not getting the larger 30A unit but I am gaining enough data to spec out a much larger system. MPPT is the way to go even with "low powered" systems like mine. I've read some comments suggesting MPPT is more useful for over 400W but for my situation with low loads, high solar intensity, high temperatures, overcast but bright, light to heavy rain about mid day to cool panels and other tropical features, this is the sweet spot for MPPT.

In my opinion this is the best value MPPT charge controller on the market! Substantial quality construction and works as advertised.

Recived controler very fast. hooked to battery bank & solar panels. Charged batteries. Controller worked as discribed. Not to hard to program controller & remote meter. I will give it the real test when I go to the hills to work mining claims this summer. Now I need to find a GOOD pure sine wave Inverter to go with my solar set up.Earl

I'm running solar panels for my camping trailer. A lot of blogging and youtube got me to buy the MPPT Tracer. Its a must have along with a MPPT controller. I have had it for over two months and it is will worth it, it takes all the wondering and guess work out. You can see what the battery % if when full, how much volts are going in and coming out when the panels are charging + more. The cable length is 4 meters or almost 4 feet, 8 feet would be better for trailer use. Any way I'm happy with the MPPT Tracer and controller from SAIN SONIC ;also AMAZON is great to buy from.

I decided on the Tracer MPPT and remote meter for my UniSolar 144 Watt panel on my new RV. I had the whole thing installed and up and running in a couple hours. MPPT technology maximizes usable power to your batteries. Setup couldn't be easier, browse the manual, install the controller and remote display, choose battery type then sit back and watch the sun charge your batteries. Quality seems to be very good and works flawlessly so far.

9 Watt 12 Volt 500 mA Portable Solar Power Panel Battery Charger Model 892-500

9 Watt 12 Volt 500 mA Portable Solar Power Panel Battery Charger Model 892-500I bought this specifically to take across country with our camper to go to Burning Man. I wanted to be able to charge a battery, cell phone, or other light usage. It came with zero instructions (like how to actually USE it!) and basically it is still sitting in the box somewhere in my basement. A friend who is very pro-solar said that I would need several of these units to get any practical use out of it. Very disappointing. We camp often with no electricity and I had hoped this would be useful.
