I ordered this last minute to use for a trip. when it arrived it looked good. but the actual product is a fake. or more like a toy. you can tell by the time you get it out of the packaging there is no weight to it at all. just cheap plain plastic and some shiny stuff on the inside. obviously it won't work since it doesn't eve have the right attachments. you can plug it in nothing will happen. its a waste of money. not that it cost a lot but still a complete waste.Sunday, September 28, 2014
Roadpro 12-Volt 100% Polar Fleece Heated Travel Blanket

Buy Roadpro 12-Volt 100% Polar Fleece Heated Travel Blanket Now
I ordered this from amazon on Black Friday, 2009. After several attempts in different cars, I've returned it. It just does not heat! At best, by the time we reach my son's school, which is a 10 minute drive, it feels room temperature...probably because by that time the car's heater has warmed it up to the touch. Not only does it not work as it should, the quality is very disappointing. Imagine two thin pieces of fleece covering wires, which are plainly felt when the blanket is over/under you.
I'm happy a few people have been happy with the performance of this blanket, but sadly, I am not one of them. If you decide to order this, be sure to test it out immediately so you will be able to return it to amazon within their return time frame if it doesn't work.

The RoadPro 58" travel blanket is a nice luxury riding in cold climates. The blanket is very soft and quite warm even when it is not plugged in. Once the blanket is turned on it provides a nice warmth throughout -without any noticeable hot spots. In general the blanket can provide warmth without feeling too "hot".Areas that we enjoy-
Soft fabric not at all scratchy.
Relatively large
Works great!
Not too expensive
Easily plugs into your car's outlet
Takes about 5 minutes to achieve maximum warmth.
Areas for improvement
While the blue fabric is a slip-cover it can not be removed. It would be great if it could be machine washed since the blanket will often exposed to snow/slush/salt from the your shoes.
One temperature the heating elements are not adjustable
If you leave the travel blanket plugged in when the engine is off IT WILL DRAIN YOUR BATTERY! Be very careful, especially since car batteries are already less efficient in cold weather.
No plug in for home use the travel blanket can only be plugged into a 12V DC plug. There are ways that you can get around this but they do not come standard with the travel blanket.
Looking at the review it appears that there are many more negatives than positives, however the negatives are relatively minor. The final verdict is that it is soft and works very well to help keep you warm.
4 1/2 stars
Buy with confidence!

The reviews on this item looked good, so I ordered this in December as a gift. I tried it in my car, and my sister tried it in hers. It's a nice blanket, but you had to wait about 20 minutes to feel any kind of warmth at all. You could eventually tell that it was on, but it gave off no real heat at all. Buy only if you're looking for just a blanket.Tuesday, September 16, 2014
GTMax Red USB Mini Car Charger Vehicle Power Adapter for Apple iPod touch 5th 4th GEN 5G 4G, iPod N

A few I ordered straight from China and the price for all of them was a couple of dollars each, at most.
They seem to work OK, although I got a report that the red one "got warm" while plugged in, so....I would suggest NOT leaving them plugged in unattended!
They look high-end, though and I think everyone is happy with their charger.Works great and it was a good price. Love it in red! Useful for both older and newer Apple products

Whistler Pro-800W 800 Watt Power Inverter

For my wife's van 3 laptops and a Wii is common. For my truck for various power tools. My trusty 400W would no longer reliably handle the load. Esp at startup without a plug which in first dance.
Don't look for cigarette lighter adapter it just won't work for 800W. They're common with 400W inverters but won't reliably supply them either (12-14v x 15 Amps is about 200 watts). And even your cigarette lighter wire is usually undersized (read not for continuous use at fused amperage) So don't ding any high power inverter over cigarette lighter adapters it's a simple technical requirement.
To handle the load, I'm running new fused power wires from the battery through the firewall to the dash.
Note one trick on running wire run two 10 gauge wires instead of one large one for each polarity. Just be sure each red/positive is individually fused at the battery and the you can tie them together at the inverter (each wire is self protected safe and both together supply needed current). This is a common trick used by HAMs and others. Much easier wire to work with and fuses (up to 40A) are standard automotive fuses and holders.
Here's a link to that wiring trick (or search for "most practical powerpole size for 700 watt inverter")
I use this power inverter to power a laptop, webcam, and video camera while storm chasing. The only problem I have is the USB slot. It will not keep up with a smart phone, at least with everything powered up and charging. I fixed that issue by adding a small extension cord.
Really this inverter works pretty good. Keep in mind you're getting what you pay for. If it's cheap, don't have overly high expectations for a product to last 20 years. Mine is used and abused as it sits in the floor of my car. Passengers kick and step on it all the time and it continues to function.
All in all I thinks it's worth the purchase.....

I have a 2000 watt Whistler inverter and am very happy with it (I wrote a review of it if you're interested). The 2000W version is part of a solution (package? system?) I put together to supply power for a few items I'd like to have available in a power grid failure like a hurricane or an ice storm.Part of that solution is a pair of 12V batteries and a battery charger (NOCO Genius G7200). The batteries supply the power to the 2000 watt inverter. The charger keeps them ready or, if the grid is down, recharges them. My problem was how to supply power to the charger if I deplete the batteries and the grid remains down.
Turns out my NOCO charger needs only 150 watts to charge the batteries. This Whistler 800 watt inverter can provide that without breaking a sweat, and only needs 80 amps DC to provide it (actually, to provide 800 watts, not just the puny 150 watts my charger needs). My car's alternator provides 105 amps, way more than the Whistler 800 needs to max out.
So I bought this item and now my car can power this 800W inverter that can easily and safely recharge the batteries that supply my 2000 watt inverter. At the same time as it's charging the big guy, this 800W inverter has power to spare for lights and low-draw electronics (laptops, cell phones, cable/DSL modems, wireless routers, VOIP boxes, cordless phones, yada yada yada).
You can buy the 400 watt version for a bit less if you like, but if your car will support the 800 watt version (80 amps minimum) why would you not opt for more power and flexibility for just a few bucks more?
Nope, I don't work for these guys but I probably should :-) And yes I'm a Viner but I paid for both this and the 2000w version and all the other goodies in that system. Whistler makes a good range of products here.

I have had to use it twice since my June, 2010, purchase. So far, so good. Just make sure you adhere to instructions, always and it will work out just fine. Don't be haphazard with it and it will take care of you. I used it for my riding mower, it was just fine. I used it on a girlfriend's car tire that was extremely flat and in a matter of minutes, it inflated her tire. Wonderful for women to have. This can serve as a great deal of comfort for males and females to transport this device.Want Wagan 900 Amp Battery Jumper with Air Compressor Discount?
I have one of these and it's worth every penny. I have had to jumpstart my car several time because I often forget to turn my lights off when I have them on during he day. Also it keeps my bicycle tires inflated as they need reinflating more often than car tires. This product works great and you can get several jumpstarts out of it.Monday, July 7, 2014

Black & Decker PAV1200W 12-Volt Cyclonic-Action Automotive Pivoting-Nose Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

1) Length of cord plenty of legnth. DON'T EVER GO FOR A WIRELESS AUTO VAC! The suction power dies, and eventually, you'll have 5 minutes of good suction per charge. The cord for this vac is too long and that's a good thing. Of course you'll need a cigarette lighter input, which all cars should have. I am able to reach the back of my Scion tC with ease and extra cord available. And if you know anything about tC's, they are small cars so you big car owners should have no problem at all.
2) Suction power Since this is a wired-type, there's no need to worry about loss of suction power. With 12V, this thing will clean up your car pretty nicely. For those stubborn pieces of dirt, hair, cloth, etc. that stick to your car fabric, the brush attachment does wonders.
3) Attachments It comes with three attachments a brush attachment, a rectangle-to-circle attachment to attach the brush, and a tube attachment to reach those hard-to-reach spots. This vac comes with a pivoting action end which is, in my opinion, genius. It really helps to access under the seats and under the side-ends of the back seats.
4) Convenience It's lightweight, and comes with a bag, so you can carry it around for travel.
All in all, this is the best auto vac solution. Don't worry about the price this thing is worth every penny.
I like this vac, but I can't say I love it. If the suction were a bit stronger, I'd be giving it 5*. Although it doesn't have the more powerful suction that I'd hoped for, it is still strong, and certainly much, much better than my previous auto vac. I will also add that I would probably do a better job when not holding the pocket cam in my other hand, so take that into consideration as well. That said, I am pleased with the performance and the features.
AIR WATTS= 11 Bowl Capacity= 11.8 oz.(350 ml)
CORD LENGTH= 16 ft. Replacement filter= PVF100
Volts= 12V 2 Year Warranty
The pivoting arm also has a smaller arm that extends out from the end if you choose to use it for the extra reach. While I was able to get the arm down next to the seats, it couldn't go all the way down, which is what I will use the hose attatchment for. The arm did excel at getting in between the rear seats as I could hold the unit at such an agle as to easily reach deep in between the seat and back cushion to get all the crumbs that get pushed there over time.
I haven't used the rounded brush yet, however the small brush that fits onto the very end of the pivot arm extender is very useful in that it helps agitate the debris in the carpet fibers giving a much better pick-up than using the arm alone. The hose I have used once, and it works fine, however I found that I lost a bit of suction with it attatched.
Emptying the unit is a breeze. You just flip up the lid, and dump it right into say, a plastic bag that you keep nearby as I did. The cord which plugs into a cigarette lighter wraps around the unit and has a clip on the end to keep it inplace. The 16 ft cord length is actually a very beneficial feature as I was easily able to reach the back of the car to vacuum the trunk. I like the fact that it's corded also, because it seems to me that the cordless models would have less power to begin with, and that power would decrease as it's in use; as well as the fact that you can only use them for a limited time before the need to recharge them. No such issues with a corded vac such as this PAV.
You also receive a neat carrying case that is roomy enough to fit the vac and all attatcments inside without having to cram them or figure out the secret to making them fit back in like some other items that come with cases often do.
There is no way to plug it in the home, and though I do see adapters that are marketed to use with this, the reviews on many of them say that they are not strong enough to power the vac. Originally, that was my plan, but I've since decided to just buy something else small messes in the home, ie a mini 2hp shop-vac.I will also post some pictures of the unit/accessories above as well.
**Update**7/27/11-I found another way to clean deep along both sides of the bucket seats up frontI went to WalMart to purchase a micro tools kitSHOP VAC MICRO-CLEANING that is actually for a shop vac that Shop-Vac 5895100 2.0-Peak Horsepower AllAround EZ Series Wet/Dry Vacuum, 1.5-Gallon I also just purchased-and sure enough, the attatchments fit on the Black & Decker too, as they're for any 1.25in hose. I also used the mini brushes to get into the vents and other tight spaces throughout the car. This discovery makes the Auto Vac even more useful. The kit is available on Amazon, but I checked Walmart online first, and found them in stock, as another reviewer said they were cheaper there. (If you do go to get the micro toolsthey're in the tools dept. by the shop vacsnot the vacuum aisle; or so they were in my area)It's the third vacuum cleaner I have experience with. First one was cheap and useless even it was plugged in cigarette lighter it never could pick up any dirt, the second was the same but wireless with 3 minutes of full suction and 2 minutes of slow death (30 min to recharge). I'm done with cheap (around $12) stuff. It was all wasting of money and I always ended up with brush cleaning. Even gas station vacuum cleaners with their nasty hoses never could done the job what I done with this fine product: Black & Decker PAV1200.
It was my first expression after I just started cleaning: "WOW!!!" and the same when I was done "Impressive!!!".
I came with two brushes, hose and adapter for hose connection. But it also has a nice feature as moving and extensible nozzle. You can adjust its position for your convenience and after you done you can fold it what makes whole unit is compact. If you look at the picture of cleaner you can see the red tip on the end of nozzle. That one is extensible to about 4-5". And its tinny so you can reach all slits.
I used one brush on this tip extending nozzle and I was done with cleaning of my minivan in 10 minutes reaching all spots including carpet mats, under pedals, under seats, between seats and decor. I got everything: fluff and hair with brush tip, dust and crumbs with cleaner suction which is pretty decent.
Cord is pretty long and easy to reel on back after you done.
Cleaner comes with nice bag with handle, so all parts including the unit you can keep together and it does not take to much room.
I Highly recommend this unit for everyone who got tired of search of decent vacuum cleaners and want to keep his car clean.
P.S. I cleaned with car engine running (did not want to waste my battery)Excellent item! I recently purchased a new BMW and was looking for a small, handy vac, that I could power/stow in the car, to pick up lint and dirt. Although the vacuum seems a little bulky at first, the nozzle extends to get between and under the seats. The attachments are nice, and the filter is easy to empty. For the price, it's a must have. This is the best handheld vac I have ever owned. Cord is long enough to reach from the cigarette lighter to the back of a Honda Odyssey. All tools store nicely on the unit or in the included carry bag. This vacuum uses the cylonic action to trap the dirt. This keeps the dirt out of the filter and makes for easy emptying. Excellent vacuum that you can store in your trunk.

EZOPower Dual Battery Charger Travel Kit for EN-EL14 Battery, Nikon D3100 D3200 D5100 D5200 DSLR an

SEE UPDATE: I changed my rating from 4 stars to one.I bought this for Nikon batteries and it does not work properly with them. Also, they are willing to take it back but at your expense and it cost as much to ship back as it di to buy the product. I would suggest not buying this product. You get what you pay for is the first thing I can say about this.
First and foremost, it works. Batteries charge and I suppose that's the most important thing for a battery charger to do.
Construction feels light. I'm still not 100% sure if I think it feels "cheap" or if it feels "portable"; it IS designed to work as a travel charger too and includes a 12v DC adapter for car charging.
The charging indicators are simple enough, but also confusing. There are 4 red LEDS that blink and vaguely indicate the progress of the charge. They remain constantly blinking though, which is a sign of error on just about every other battery charger I've ever owned. I can't really hold that against this product because it does what it does reliably, but it also seems to ignore convention and I'm not sure I like that.
I've used both Nikon batteries and aftermarket batteries in this and both charge. I will note, however, that the batteries don't fit perfectly. In the worst case, I actually have to put a book on top of them to keep the contacts of the charger and battery together. Nikon OEM batteries have this issue too, so I consider this a problem with the charger and not the batteries. Something claiming suitability for EN-EL14 batteries should be able to allow for variations within that model of battery that the manufacturer themselves allow for.
But then again, you get what you pay for. Aftermarket single chargers cost $10 more than this and single OEM chargers cost more than double. For the convenience of charging two batteries at a time (I have a camera grip that uses two at a time, so it's not just a matter of "rotate them"), I'm actually okay with it's quirks.Used it right away, swift delivery and charges the batteries fast. Great buy! Now I will always have at least two batteries chargedExcellent quality construction with the ability to charge two batteries at a time. This is a must for the photojournalist on-the-go.

- Transmit music from iPod directly to FM radio
- Charges iPod, cell phone, PDA, etc.
- Digital LCD display
- Made with quality by Scosche.
So I decided to go with a higher quality trans. that would last longer and work better. This trans. actually didn't work nearly as well as the cheap one! When I say cheap, I mean I got it for 5 dolls. on amazon, new!
In order to hear the station I would have to turn up my cars volume almost all the way up, and even then there was always some static in the back ground. Every now and again it would work fine, at high volumes, but not very often. Don't waste your money on this one, there are better ones you can get for less money.

I thought that this would be a good item to use to transmit FM signals to my radio to hear the music.Item arrived in the mail and I opened it and was happy to see that it felt like it was made of high quality plastic. Went out to my car and plugged it in and the little screen showed 88.9, the same as I use for my Sirius radio. Plugged in my EVO with Pandora playing music and turned on the radio. Nothing...... Static. Tried several different channels on the transmitter and the radio. All the channels where just static. So I am very disappointed that this transmitter doesn't work. I purchased two of these for my Friendly Robotics RL800 mower and was disappointed with their performance. While initial run time with these batteries was nearly three hours, within a month that time had dropped to less than 10 minutes.Friendly Robotics thought the mower was working correctly and that the problem was these UPGs were not up to the task. After about 5 years or so, the battery pack in my B&D CMM 1200 24V mower died. I live in Canada, and bought the mower at Home Depot, so I went there and they don't sell the replacement batteries. I went to the B&D website, and was redirected to DeWalt, (they merged), where I found their replacement batteries. They were around $150 plus shipping, and also stated "backordered". The cynic in me thinks that this is suspicious, since B&D just came out with that sexy new 36V mower, so maybe they aren't going to support the older 24V anymore--"Can't get a battery? Darn, better buy a new mower........" Anyway, I found these batteries after reading a mower blog (who knew there were mower blogs?). They work just fine. There have been some comments that the posts are different, and that is correct, but I didn't need to modify anything. The factory batteries in my mower didn't have external terminals, but rather had screw holes with the wires secured by screws which themselves formed the posts. These new batteries have two terminals with a bolt going through them as can be seen from the photos. So, the wires are held on with screws in both systems, but the screws face in slightly different directions. There may be different variations of this B&D mower, so maybe in some there isn't any slack in the wires, but in mine it worked just fine. So, if you can get them (maybe not anymore) the factory batteries will cost you about $150-$160 plus shipping, and two of these together were $82 shipped........ I don't know how long they will last, but even if they only last a year or two, I still didn't have to spend over $400 for a new mower yet! I had to pay some brokerage fees to bring the batteries into Canada, but would have had to with the factory battery as well, so it all comes out in the wash. This is the exact replacement battery for my Generac 7500 watt, 13HP generator. My only complaint is that they don't last beyond three years even when kept on a smart charger. Other than that, it's a solid battery, plenty of cranking power and inexpensive.

This does work with my navigon until the end connector after 1 month just came apart and what's the funny part is it claims to be a thick durable connector....thats a plain lie. spend the few extra dollars and get something OEM.I got this product from BargainCell. When connected to my Navigon 7100, the GPS unit is not getting charged. No fault with the GPS as I am able to charge it using the power cord and there is no issue with my car's output as I am able to charge my iphone using another cable.I have asked for a replacement and it has been 15 days and haven't yet received one. I have contacted amazon and they said they have submitted an A-to-z Guarantee claim on my behalf for the order and if approved, my card will be reimbursed.
So in short, I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.
