TomTom Go 720 Battery Replacement Kit with Installation Video, Tools, and Extended Life Battery.

TomTom Go 720 Battery Replacement Kit with Installation Video, Tools, and Extended Life Battery. The directions for this kit are on a DVD. The DVD makes the installation process seem much easier than the actual installation itself. A piece of double sided tape was included in the replacement kit to hold the new battery in place. I used the tape to re-secure the new battery after removing the old one. What was not mentioned in the instructions was the double sided tape was too thick to allow the TomTom to be closed and the halves screwed back together. The TomTom had to be disassembled again and the tape removed before it could reassembled properly. A little more detail explanation would have helped otherwise, it would have gotten 5 stars. As it is the battery works well and my TomTom functions flawlessly.

Certainly was less expensive that replacing my Tom Tom ( which I considered). You tube instructions were complete and easy to follow. No fancy packaging here, but the battery appears to be fresh and holding the charge. Highly recommended

It was simple to do and all the tools included, along with a great instructional video. As advertised. The new battery works great and it is like I have a new GPS again.

Install of this package was a breeze. Considered purchasing new gps, glad I didn't, this is a great gps once again. Thanks!

Want TomTom Go 720 Battery Replacement Kit with Installation Video, Tools, and Extended Life Battery. Discount?

Just finished installing the new battery. Had a problem getting the GPS open. The plastic tool quickly bends our of shape because the material is too weak at the tip. Had to use a small screwdriver to pry things open and managed to scratch the screen. Don't notice it when it is turned on. The old battery in the TomTom GPS is held by very strong double sided tape. Hard to get out. Had to use again a micro screw driver to pry it open. I found a micro screw holder very handy as my fingers are big and fat. Also used tweezers and forceps to help me with the tiny parts.

Although not perfect, this product is better than having a dead device and since mine still works after changing the battery, scratching the screen, and being a little rough with the motherboard, I am happy.

If I can find a used Tom Tom just like it super cheap, I may try it again but just try to locate the battery somewhere as I don't need another full kit.

Recoton ADF1650 50/1600W Dual Wattage Travel Converter

Recoton ADF1650 50/1600W Dual Wattage Travel ConverterThis item offered here (Recoton ADF1650 50/1600W Dual Wattage Travel Converter) is actually two different converters built into one package. At LOW setting (up to 50W), it uses a small AC transformer to convert 220V sinusoidal waveform into a 110V sinusoidal waveform. This is the preferred approach which works well for any low power appliance.

To handle higher power, however, the AC transformer must be made bulkier and heavier (around 20 pounds just for 1000W). This makes it impractical as a travel voltage converter for large-wattage appliance. Therefore another method is used by this converter...

At HIGH setting (50-1600W), this convert simply uses a solid-state switch inside to chop off part of the 220V sinusoidal waveform. The resulted waveform, as seen by the appliance, is highly distorted and is far from an 110V sinusoidal AC voltage.

For a purely resistive appliance (such as travel iron or water heater) it works just fine irregardless of different voltage waveform. But if you ever try to power an electronic appliance (such as TV, computer or battery charger) with this distorted 220V waveform, it will probably be fried in an instant!

The product manual did warn against using the HIGH setting for any electronic appliance exceeding 50W. So legally the company is covered. My advice is to stay away from this potentially destructive product unless you are really, REALLY careful about what to plug in. Chances are, sooner or later somebody will forget about this warning and plug a Xbox into this "converter" only to get a big BOOM!

If you must bring electronic appliances with your oversea trips, make sure they are rated for universal voltage of 100-240V AC. That way, you can safely use them in other countries without the need for a volatge converter. Power supplies for most portable electronics (laptop, camcorder, cell-phone, electric shavers, etc.) are already designed for universal voltage, although some of them may require you to physically flip a switch.

But don't forget, even if you don't need a voltage converter, you still must bring a set of plug adapters for foreign countries. For example, consider the Travel Smart Polarized Adapter Plug 5 Piece Set for this purpose.

This kit is well made, contains all the plug adapters you'll need to travel to 6 continents, and unlike some, has switchable wattage to allow the use of both low voltage (eg. battery rechargers) and high voltage (eg. hair dryers) appliances.

Buy Recoton ADF1650 50/1600W Dual Wattage Travel Converter Now

I bought this converter for a trip to Spain. Each time I used it, I smelled a plastic burning odor and the unit was too hot to handle. I had to unplug whatever device was connected to it and wait about 10 minutes before removing it from the wall outlet. When I took it to Peru four months later, I had the same experience, only this time it "exploded" while using my electric shaver. I immediately unplugged the shaver and grabbed a towel to remove the converter from the outlet. The room smelled strongly of burning plastic. Unfortunately, I burned out the motor of the shaver. I also noticed that the cell phone I had tried to charge earlier in the day had not charged. The charger was burned out and obviously no longer works back home in the states.

To add insult to injury, I've been bounced around from service rep to service rep trying to contact the company. I've been issued four "case numbers" each time I call in. Now they've got me waiting for a call from the legal department. Do they smell a lawsuit?

My recommendation is to NOT buy this device. Another review talks of how heavy the unit is and how the user had to prop it up. That's definitely been my experience. In Spain, I had to use the two prong accessory to plug it into the recessed outlet in the bathroom. I actually had to hold the unit to keep it from falling out. (Yes, I know, not smart, holding an electrical device while in the bathroom!)

Spend a few extra bucks and get a better converter.

I took this converter to a very long European trip. It worked just fine. My family members were using it for both high-wattage and low-wattage appliances. It was very handy to have a single converter for all cases. What can I say it worked as supposed and didn't break. The set of 5 different adapters (all types used on the planet) was very handy too.

Want Recoton ADF1650 50/1600W Dual Wattage Travel Converter Discount?

I purchased two of the Recoton ADF 1650 sets for a recent trip to Italy. They worked flawlessly, with both high and low-voltage devices. We tried them with hair dryers, digital camera battery rechargers, etc. and no problems. They are quite large and heavy, though, and we ditched the carrying case, etc., and just threw the converter into our suitcases..

One important thing to remember is that you only need a voltage CONVERTER if the devices you wish to power are incapable of operating at the voltage being provided in the country you're visting. I found that my cell phone charger AND my Nikon digital camera battery recharger were both designed for BOTH 110 and 220 Volt operation (read the fine print stamped on the charger) so all I needed was the "plug adaptor" (and NOT a voltage converter) for these two chargers... The plug adaptors are about $2-$3 each...

Allstar Performance ALL76139 Battery Charger Post, (Pack of 2)

Allstar Performance ALL76139 Battery Charger Post,I CHOSE THIS BRAND OF BATTERY CHARGING POSTS BACAUSE OF THE CLAIMED ROBUST DESIGN. WELL I WASENT DISAPPOINTED. THEY ARE EXTREMELY WELL DESIGNED AND BUILT. YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THEM NEEDING REPLACED DUE TO WEARING OUT OR BREAKAGE BECAUSE THEY ARE OF LATHE TURNED, SOLID BRASS CONSTRUCTION. THE COLOR CODED CAPS FOR POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE ARE A NICE FEATURE AND HAVE A STRIP ATTACHED TO PREVENT LOSS. I HAVE MOUNTED THESE TO MY '33 FORD COUPE TO FACILITATE REMOTE CHARGING. THEY ARE VERY CLEAN LOOKING AND FUNCTION AS EXPECTED. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS PRODUCT AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

I took a car battery, put it in a plastic box and put it up on a high shelf. Then I ran some 4 gauge cables to these posts which are mounted below. I have trickle charger leads attached to the back for charging the back. With this battery I can jump start either of our cars easily. I like that the rubber caps snap on securely, giving me peace of mind about placing them in a convenient location.

Buy Allstar Performance ALL76139 Battery Charger Post, (Pack of 2) Now

If I could give these a '0' rating, I would. First off, the description of these doesn't give the dimensions of the product, only the dimensions of the packaging. I was expecting something a LOT smaller, like a 1/4-20 stud AND 1-1/2" overall height. These have a 3/8-16 stud and nut, with a 3/4" diameter stud on top and an overall height of 3". They're HUGE. You could charge 15 batteries at once and still have amp rating left over.

Secondly, the Black cap wouldn't come off and I had to pry it off with a screwdriver, and the Red cap WON'T STAY ON. That means the positive terminal could inadvertently be exposed. Plus, the through panel threads are 1-1/4", try drilling that hole with a hand drill.

These posts are absolutely worthless. I wasted my money just to throw them away!

YTX4L-BS AGM Maintenance Free Battery

YTX4L-BS AGM Maintenance Free BatteryThe battery I ordered said AGM in the description. The battery I received said Sealed Lead Acid on the side of it. Although the battery does work fine, I am not sure I received the battery I paid for.

I needed a battery for my KTM and as I don't ride it often and I'm perfectly comfortable kick starting it I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on a brand name battery (do some searching and you'll find that pretty much all batteries are made in one of 3 factories anyway). It's just nice to be able to hit the start button for those times when you're in an awkward position and kick starting is not feasible. So, anyway, I took it out of the box, installed it, and the bike fired right up. A couple months later and it still holds the charge, even with very limited use. Only thing I'll note is the terminal bolts and nuts that come with it are a little short, use the ones off your old battery and you'll be good to go.

USB Travel Kit with Car Charger, Travel Adapter & Cable for Apple iPod

USB Travel Kit with Car Charger, Travel Adapter & Cable for Apple iPod
  • Apple iPod USB Travel Kit with
  • Travel Adapter &
  • Car Charger,
  • Cable

The USB cable looks and feels very similar to the apple one, but the chargers have a somewhat cheesy feel. Then again, that's totally to be expected when you buy a whole set for less than half the price of a cable or either charger alone from Apple or one of the name brand companies.

I also should note that the AC adapter is 100-240v compatible, so it can work worldwide. I was wondering about that when I bought it because none of the tech info mentioned it. In fact, the casing itself was designed to be used with the EU style plugs, and that's why it protrudes from the body of the case.

Also, the items I received look like the submitted picture, and not the MFG's picture, for what it's worth... Doesn't matter much because in any case the items aren't very aesthetically pleasing anyways.

Bottom line, from reading the other reviews it looks like they have QC issues, but I wound up with a perfectly functional set at a great price.

Guys,

Do NOT EVER buy this product. I lost my Ipod Nano(8gb) because of this cheap nonsense. As soon as I plugged in the charger into the wall outlet, and connected it to the nano, the charger blew a fuse, and had smoke coming out of it. My nano didn't start after that. No matter what I tried. I took it to apple store, and they couldn't start it either. My warranty was void.

Go for real apple products, not for these cheap chargers. I'm not sure if this company BargainCell is selling authentic products, or just cheap makeovers without ever having tested them out.

Again, do not buy it, unless you want to risk losing your ipod.

The car charger worked great. I could charge my iPod while listening to it. I'm currently trying to use the Travel Adaptor, but so far it's not working. I'm trying to discover the problem. It's not the cord, because the cord is working when connecting the iPod to computer. So, I can't really say anything about how the travel adapter works. But I give the car charger 5 stars. It gets the job done.

edit :: i actually got it to work. it works great. you just have to wait a second for your iPod to display the charging symbol.

Cobra CPI1000 1000W 12V DC to 120V AC Power Inverter with USB Port

Cobra CPI1000 1000W 12V DC to 120V AC Power Inverter with USB Port
  • 1000 watts continuous power with 2000 watts peak power
  • 5 volt USB output for running and charging your electronic devices
  • Direct-to-battery cables included
  • 2 AC outlets
  • Heavy duty construction capable of handling multiple loads

I bought this inverter to run my home fridge during power outages. It works great. No problems starting and running the compressor. It even handled a 1/2" drill motor easily.

I picked this one for it's power and voltage display. It allows me to estimate the battery draw so I have an idea how long it will last. I also liked the USB power source, although I have not used that yet.

It does come with nice HEAVY power leads (with clips), although they are very short. Good enough to set right next to a battery and clamp on.

So far, no complaints or problems.

I have these in all 4 of my company's vans to run heavy duty continuous use machines. My old inverters would pop and I would have to turn them off and back on. If these surge it resets itself within less than a second and keeps on truckin. I had to install a solenoid for them to work correctly (my mechanic advised me to do that, I dont know the technicalities) because without the solenoid it wasn't drawing enough power. I have been very impressed with the quality and price of these and will continue to buy them.

Excellent product, I am using it to run my Directtv, automatic dish, TV, and much more. I am sure I am only using a small amount of its capabilities but works great.

Want Cobra CPI1000 1000W 12V DC to 120V AC Power Inverter with USB Port Discount?

My first review of this product was not a kind one. I could not use a toaster or coffee pot with this device and chastised cobra for over stating the wattage capabilities. After many hours of work and upgrading to another bigger one with the same results, I wanted to rewrite my review. If you take this inverter or the bigger one, and put it right at the battery with the supplied clamps, it WILL deliver a strong output and make a pot of coffee with a normal toaster. Keep in mind a toaster and a coffee pot are pretty much a direct-short to a power supply since they are heating elements. There is no more difficult task for an inverter to do! Vacuum cleaners, all those things are easy compared to heating element type appliances. Anyway, back to installation. If you have the device RIGHT at the battery it will deliver as promised since there is a short wire and no voltage loss.

BUT when I installed it under the seat of my RV with a top of the line amp install kit about 12 feet away, it did NOT deliver. It would beep and shut down. Even with the 100% copper wire, oxygen free stuff I used, it had voltage drop to make the inverter go below the magic level that makes it freak out. In my installation, I could NOT mount the inverter at the battery--there was not enough room. So long story short I put a second battery under the seat of the RV next to the inverter/ this battery only drives the inverter. Problem solved. works like a charm, but I would invest in the bigger one-if you can afford it. The voltage drop in the wire is very real issue. I am in the car electronics business and sell such things and it even amazed me and my co workers .

The bad thing to keep in mind, is that all of these converters have a cooling fan. You will hear this loud whirring noise while it runs. The fan has two speeds. If your car is running and it gets enough voltage the fan goes at low speed. BUT if your car is not running the fan is in high speed. Keep this in mind, you WILL hear this and it may make watching TV annoying. Install the inverter accordingly.

You do get what you pay for in inverters. If you were to step up to the more expensive brands of inverters that boast "sine wave" and "noise filtering" You will pay $400 or more and I bet they have less issue with voltage drop. But hey, you have to live within your budget.

Tried several others before this one. main reason for purchase was for a PS3. Once I bought this one the PS3 worked... One caution though. If you use the old PS3 (fat one game play 200watts) the power required will or might give you feed back through the speakers in the form of a hiss. I purchased the newer skinner PS3(only 100 watts) and it was quite. Also I have seen several people use the 800 watt one and there are small lines of distortion from the alternator. This has an extra grounding terminal for chassis ground(below large ground) that seems to clear up this problem... Great product

Delphi MyFi XM2GO Portable XM Satellite Radio Receiver with Home / Car Kits

Delphi MyFi XM2GO Portable XM Satellite Radio Receiver with Home / Car Kits
  • Illuminated six-line LCD shows station, category, and artist information
  • Built-in wireless FM transmitter turns any FM receiver into an XM radio
  • Rechargeable battery provides five hours of use
  • Delivers more than 150 high-quality, XM satellite radio stations
  • Receiver measures 2.8 x 4.5 x 1.2 inches (W x H x D)

I've had my MyFi for a week now and I must say that it has exceeded my expectations. I do live in an urban area where reception is great (DC) but I find that I rarely use the live programming when on the run and just rely on my recorded content.

First what's great about the MyFi:

1) I'm new to satellite radio and was very impressed with the variety of music available. I've discovered lots of artists that while I had my Ipod I never knew existed. Add to that the great live events, talk radio, and other content.

2) XM2Go works flawlessly. But for the limitations (below) it works flawlessly. Pop your MyFi in the cradle at night and in the morning you have 5+ hours of content. Note, the box says 5 hours but in reality if you record any of the more compressed channels (talk etc.) you will end up being able to record more than 5 hours! I believe when I record music channels I actually get closer to 6 hours of recorded content. Once you have your content you can easily scroll from song to song. Skip the ones you don't like. Replay the ones you do.

3) It is truly portable. I go from pocket (headphones), to car (FM transmitter), to home cradle (line-in to the stereo) without ever interrupting listening.

4) It comes with everything you need, including a remote control so you can easily switch channels as your MyFi sits in its cradle across the room (you can't say that about the Ipod). Further, what it comes with is great quality. I love the swivel car cradle not only do you not have to worry about plugging wires into the MyFi everytime you bring it into the car (they are plugged into the cradle), it makes reading the display a breeze for both the driver and the passenger (just swivel it between the two).

5) Replaceable battery. Unlike the Ipod the MyFi, like a cell phone, has a swappable battery. That means you can (eventually) either buy a replacement when the battery starts to lose strengh without conducting the surgery necessary on the Ipod (this is huge given the amount of use these devices get and the liklihood that batteries will only hold their full capacity charge for 6-12 months) or just have one handy to extend your listening time.

6) It's solid state. Unlike the Ipod you don't have to worry about a hard drive to go bad (like mine did in 8 months!)

7) Recording isn't limited to scheduled records. You can always nab a song here or there by just hitting the XM2Go button.

8) It feels solid in your hand. Yeah, it's bigger and heavier than an Ipod (think thick PDA, or perhaps the Dell MP3 player) but it's designed to fit in your hand well and works well for both left (me) and right handed people.

Now the things you should be aware of (though, knowing them I still would buy one):

1) Don't expect non-stop reception when you are roaming around. Even in metro areas you might drop a signal when you aren't using the home or car kits. I imagine it is difficult at best in non-urban areas to maintain a line of sight with the sats. Just expect that you will need to make use of the recorded content in those situations.

2) Don't expect the sound quality of a high-bitrate MP3 on the Ipod. I suspect that this has everything to do with the nature of Sat radio and nothing to do with the MyFi hardware, but, the quality is not the same. Although I would rate it great, you do notice that you are getting a compressed stream.

3) Don't expect to be able to control your content. Unless you save a recording session for days you won't likely get the same songs day to day (the playlists on XM are vast, rarely are there repeats) (notable exception is if you record the top 20 channel). That's a good thing if you like variety that's a bad thing if you like the comfort of always having your favorite tunes handy.

4) The AV cable is a bit short (nothing an extension cord couldn't fix).

5) I would like to see a more sophisticated recording scheduler. Currently you can only schedule 2 record sessions and it limits you to recording within the next 24 hours (unless you schedule a daily recording session). With all of the great XM content it would have been nice to be able to set up a recording session several days into the future.

6) I would like to be able to lock or protect songs or even whole sessions from being recorded over by new recording sessions. Currently, the way it works is just a simple first in first out method. Fortunately, it is smart enough to merely delete a portion of an overwritten section as opposed to the whole section.

7) It doesn't buffer like a TiVo/ReplayTV. It would be nice to pause and/or rewind live content.

8) Fianlly, I would love a computer interface so that that XM can distribute updated software to fix some of the above issues.

This product is great.

Buy Delphi MyFi XM2GO Portable XM Satellite Radio Receiver with Home / Car Kits Now

First let me say that I have only had the MyFi since Christmas (yes, my wife was one of

the people who actually got one). I waited until now to write a review so that I could

get a good feel for the product. Some other reviewers on this page have laid out some of

my pluses and minuses, so I may be reaffirming their comments. First, the great-

1) The programming. XM has tons of stations. I listen to a wide variety of music, and I

was able to fill up the 30 available presets rather quickly. One form of music I

particularily like is techno/trance, and there are 3 channels that play some form of it.

Also, there are 3 comedy channels, and on 2 of them they run segments of stand-up

routines from pretty much any comic out there. Very funny. Also, I paid extra for "High

Voltage", which is the "Opie and Anthony" show. In my opinion, well worth the money.

Plus, XM has all MLB teams, Big Ten Football, and many other extras. I love the

programming.

2) The actual MyFi package itself is wonderful. It comes with 2 holders one for the

car, one for the home which you can plug the antenna, power source, and audio connector

into so that all you have to do to switch from car to home is pull the MyFi out of one

holder and drop it into another. Very easy, very smart. Plus, you get 3 different

mounting options for your car, headphones, a personal antenna for when you are using it

like a walkman, RCA cable for connection to a home stereo, tape adapter for the car,

cigarette lighter adapter, home power adapter, and various cases and clips, plus a remote control. I was

honestly amazed at how much comes with this package.

3) Ease of use. It took me all of about 10 minutes to figure out how to work the menus

and different options on the unit. It is extremely easy to set presets, change displays,

change channels, etc.

4) Recording. This is a truly innovative feature. I have a digital video recorder, and

this works pretty much the same way. You can set up recording schedules, or you can

record whatever you are listening to just by hitting the record button. Very cool.

Also, you can record up to 5 hours of programming, so if you are indoors (where satellite

does not work without external antennas) you can listen to the recording. For me, it is

great because I can record the whole "Opie and Anthony" show and listen to it whenever I

have some free time.

5) This is a small plus, but in this world of huge problems to get anything done, the

activation is very simple. You can log onto XM's website, enter your radio code, cough

up some dough, and within about an hour maximum your radio will be active. It took mine

about 7 minutes to be activated (much like a cell phone).

Now, for some of the not-so-great features

1) First, I have to complain about the audio quality. As another reviewer said, you can

tell it is compressed. Hopefully the XM people are working to resolve this issue, but it

is sort of frustrating. I have a very high quality Onkyo THX certified receiver, and I

can pick up very subtle audio imperfections. I would say the quality is somewhere

between a tape and a CD. Sometimes it almost seems like it is "wavering". The sound

will be amazing for 1/2 a song, and then it will be like a tape for 1/2 the song. I

suspect this has nothing to do with the MyFi itself, but has everything to do with the

stream coming from the satellite. Also, using a tape adapter for the car is pretty

frustrating. I am thinking about having mine hardwired, because using the tape adapter

ensures that the best sound quality you get will be, well, tape.

2) The headphones. What a joke. These could possibly be the worst headphones ever

unleashed on humanity. They suck. The sound quality is a joke, and they are the

in-the-ear style, but they actually cause pain having them in your ears. It is an insult

that they send out this wonderful product with such abominations for headphones. Mine

have already found the garbage.

3) The recording needs a buffering system, as another reviewer said. It would be nice

if it started recording as soon as you tuned into a station, like a DVR, but... I guess

we can't have everything.

4) I am also reaffirming another reviewer's comments, but XM or Delphi or whoever needs

to make the MyFi able to connect to a computer. I find it amazing that in this day and

age we can have such a sophisticated piece of electronics released without the ability to

connect for updates and such. Maybe it is coming.

Lastly, there is the issue of reception. I did not include this in the great or

not-so-great categories because it is neither. I live in a suburb of Cleveland, and I

have had very little reception problems. However, since the stream is coming from a

satellite, I do not think that where you live has anything to do with reception. I think

that some of the reception issues raised in some reviews may be user error, as opposed to

the radio not working. XM is pretty clear about where to put antennas, and if you follow

those guidelines, you should have no problems. Now, that is not to say that the

guidelines aren't kinda dumb. They want you to put the home antenna in a south facing

window with no obstructions to the sky. My stereo is about 45-50 feet from any south

facing window, and the cable on the antenna is only about 25 ft. However, XM is happy to

provide and extension (for a ton of money I assume). I put my antenna in an east facing

window with a house obstructing the sky, and I have had no reception problems, so take

that for what it's worth. In the car, the antenna cable is more than long enough to run

from the front of my Tahoe to the back, out the liftgate, onto the roof, and still have

about 3 extra feet. There is basically no car the antenna can't fit in. It is magnetic,

and it stays put. Reception while traveling around was great about 95% of the time.

However, just like my GPS, when you are in an area that is obstructed by trees or other

objects, the reception fades. It is somewhat annoying that the people in charge of

coming up with this technology couldn't figure out a way for satellites to beam signals

through things. This has always irritated me with my GPS. Maybe in the future.

I realize this is a long review, but I hope it helped. Overall, I wouldn't trade this

for any regular radio. I love it, and I believe the technology and

sound quality can only get better, and it is pretty good right now.

2/10/05 Update Well, I have now had the MyFi for about a month and a half now and I have read some of the VERY negative reviews here, and I feel the need to comment.

First Reception: I have had virtually no problems at all. I have used the MyFi in my car, my home, and as a "walkman". The only time I have had reception issues are when I am in my car and there is very heavy cover blocking the sky. I have used the MyFi almost everyday walking around Cleveland State University and I have never even had one single fade-out. I have even been able to go deep into buildings before the signal fades. Now, according to XM and Delphi, the unit will not work when a roof is over your head, but I have proven that very untrue. I have been able to listen to to the MyFi uninterrupted in a classroom with no windows. This may be a fluke, but take it for what it's worth.

Second Audio I mentioned this in the original review, and there have been many negative reviews about the audio quality. I have noticed, just within the past 2 weeks or so, that the quality has gotten much better. The "wavering" that I talked about is still present, but it is now only there about 25% of the time. I have been very impressed with the sound quality as of late. One reviewer said that talk shows sound like the people are talking into cans attached to a string, and I noticed this as well with "Opie and Anthony". However, both Opie and Anthony have been complaining about this problem, and the problem is coming from the studio that they broadcast from. They routinely complain about this during their program, and I have noticed a better sound lately on their program as well, most likely because O & A had a meeting with the XM engineers.

Overall, I would now give this unit 5 stars, whereas I gave it 4 before because of the audio quality. I do not have any complaints at all. Maybe I am unique in my experience, but I just don't get what any of the negative reviewers are complaining about.

It would have been 5 stars except the personal antenna is awful. I bought a different personal antenna from the XM Fan Store and it works great.

Want Delphi MyFi XM2GO Portable XM Satellite Radio Receiver with Home / Car Kits Discount?

Yesterday, the mailman delivered my long-awaited MyFi. I quickly got it up and running. I then took it to the gym for its first big test. Overall, I like this product. It fits in the hand nicely, the layout is very simple to use, and it certainly comes with a ton of extras. The sound quality is as good as any other satellite radio I've seen.

My problem though is in its portability, which is the main reason I paid for it. First of all, I live in Walnut Creek, CA which is a small town in the San Francisco Bay Area. When I'm not plugged into the home antenna, I get NO reception anywhere. When I went to the gym, I got nothing. I even put on that stupid looking external antenna. Even if it would have worked I don't know if I could have gotten a good workout with two different wires hanging down from me. But, despite that the external antenna has never done anything for me. So, if you are getting this unit and don't live in New York or LA, don't plan on using the live mode much, unless it's plugged into the home antenna. I have not hooked it up to my car yet, so I cannot comment on that aspect of it.

That being said, the only saving grace is the 2go feature. I did record two sessions last night, so now I have 5 hours of songs on it. So, now I can carry it around wherever I want to go. But, you can only record two sessions, so that is only two stations. I would love to be able to switch to news, sports, comedy, or other stations while I'm walking around. But, because of the reception issue I'm stuck with the recorded songs, which ain't bad. I also like how you can record a single song as it comes on the radio, if you like.

So, if you want to buy this thinking it is the long awaited portable satellite live radio solution, you'll be disappointed because you probably are not going to be happy with the reception you can get. But, if you get it realizing it that you'll mostly be using it to listen to recorded songs, you'll be very pleased. I'd recommend it, but I strongly stress waiting for the price to drop, because it's very overpriced right now for what it does.

First things first. This is not intended to be a review of the XM service in general. I had that in my truck for a year before getting the Delphi MyFi, so obviously I was pretty gangbusters about the service. But I've now had the MyFi about 3 weeks, including a two-week trip to Atlanta including air travel, hotels and rental cars, so I've gotten some good mileage out of it so far.

Pros:

Battery: This little beauty has about a 5-hour battery life (conservative estimate, as far as I can tell). This means that even for car trips, taking the dog for a walk, and any normal use, it has enough battery life to last. During our long car ride on the trip, I didn't really need to use the car charger, which was one less wire to hook up. I hate having a gadget that needs lots of random junk hanging off, and the battery capacity really cuts down on that.

FM Modulator: This is one of the major plusses to this little unit. Again, like the above, this means that in the car, you don't have a cassette adapter or wired aux jack. It may cut down slightly on sound quality, but it's still higher than standard broadcast FM radio. In addition, this had a special added benefit in the hotel. Usually a hotel has a clock radio, but not much else. The FM transmitter gave me the ability to broadcast to the clock radio, which was the only way to get tunes in the room.

Accessories: If you've bought the SkyFi, which is the unit I have for the truck, it comes with nothing. You need to buy a car adapter kit, then perhaps a home adapter kit, then worry about installation, and when all is said and done, the $100 SkyFi costs closer to $300 or more. This unit comes with *everything*. Car kit, home kit, headphones, belt clip, protective case, it's all there. Sure, the unit itself costs $350, but for a portable unit that's not bad.

Sound Quality: Again, XM is closer to CD-quality than FM. It won't meet the standards of the audiophiles out there, but it's not bad. I'd place it about as high quality as 128kb bitrate MP3. As long as you have decent satellite or terrestrial reception, the sound is pretty good.

Variety: This, of course, is what separates the MyFi from an iPod. Ever since the RIAA started suing people, I haven't been downloading any MP3's. And without good radio, I don't keep up to date on music anyway, so I wouldn't download music. So, I leave the music programming to professionals. XM has enough stations that unlike local LA radio, there is always something I want to hear, and unlike local LA radio, I don't flip through 6 presets of commercials. The really cool feature is that the name of the artist and song title are displayed on the screen, so I actually know who I'm listening to!

Neutral:

Reception: From what I could tell, reception was great in some areas, and not so good in others. At one of my hotels, I had southern exposure facing Atlanta. Connected to the home kit, I had three bars (of three) on both satellite and terrestrial antennas. Yet at my hotel in Montgomery, AL, I didn't get any reception. There were no terrestrial antennas in Montgomery, and my room didn't face south. Likewise, in my apartment here in California I have a lot of restriction as to where the antenna is placed to get reception. In the car, the reception is pretty much uniformly good. During most of my trip, I had the external antenna up on the dash, and got great reception. I've found from installing the car-specific antenna in my wife's car that this is even better, but once that is installed and the wire routed, it is something you don't want to remove. In the car, though, using the standard personal antenna is fine. Walking around, however, the reception can be spotty. While this is intended as a portable device, it doesn't 100% live up to its billing. I put this as neutral rather than a con, though, because in most situations it meets my needs.

Stored Content: The MyFi has the ability to store 5 hours of music content. It is billed as a major feature, but after the above reception issues, I believe it is added as a crutch because of some of the reception issues. That being said, if they had implemented the record feature better, it would easily have moved up to a pro for this unit. The main problem is twofold. First, the XM SkyFi2 buffers content, so that if you're listening to a song and want to pause/replay the song, you can do so. This is not available as a feature on the MyFi. Second, it has two recording slots, each with a 2 1/2 hour maximum. You cannot schedule it to record 5 1-hour slots on 5 different channels. You can't schedule it to record a 3 1/2 football game on one channel, followed by a 1 1/2 hour program on a second channel. I think that purely from a software programming standpoint, they could have fixed this easily. Last, I it needs to be in the home kit to record. I'd prefer that it be able to record easily on-the-go, so that if I wanted to leave it in a car overnight recording, I could do so. Alas, no such luck. However, even with all these problems, the record feature is a plus when traveling. I got no reception on an airplane, and the saved content was a lifesaver when I needed something to listen to.

Cons:

Antenna Compatibility: The personal antenna plugs right into the side of the unit. The car and the home antenna, however, don't. They don't plug into the unit at all. They plug into the car or home kit. I didn't think this would be too much of a problem, but in my wife's car, the optimal place to put this unit is in the cupholder. If the car antenna plugged directly in, I could do so. However, the car antenna only plugs into the car docking station. Which doesn't fit into the cupholder. If the antennas were interchangeable, it would be helpful.

Conclusion:

All in all, if I had to do it all over again, I would still buy this unit. I had read the Amazon reviews, and the reception exceeded the limited expecations they had given me. The ease of use for car usage makes it simple to take in and out of the car, and since I already have XM in my truck, my wife might start getting some use out of the XM as well. I've said before that I'm not a major gadget guy, and I usually look for gadgets that will improve my life, rather than just buying gadgets to own them. The Delphi MyFi meets that criteria.

High Grade Samsung Galaxy Note 2 /Galaxy S4(Tangle Free) Rapid LED Indicating Car Charger Adapter

High Grade Samsung Galaxy Note 2 /Galaxy S4(Tangle Free) Rapid LED Indicating Car Charger AdapterExcellent product, works as described. Having the Samsung Galaxy Note II phone it requires specific charge units. I actually tried a few other ones on the market and they did not charge the Samsung phone. Like Apple many special requirements where you have to buy specific products that are made to work with them. Not a knock at any brand just the trend on the big players and a way to make some extra cash. It's business at it's best. What is great about this charger is fits several brands w/o any issues. The same connection port is on the Motorola Droid series as well as my work Blackberry Bold series. It's great for $12 I have a portable charger for all vehicles I use or get into. To buy the car chargers for your specific phone model at a store, especially phone stores (Verizon, Sprint, AT&T) they charge $39.95 or higher. All I can say is this product works great and charges many brand devices and I think it is a great buy from my experiences.

Product arrived on time and matches my Galaxy Note 2 extremely satisfied. I definitely would purchase again from this vendor.

Scosche FMDT1 Shifter Style Digital FM Transmitter with USB Port

Scosche FMDT1 Shifter Style Digital FM Transmitter with USB Port
  • Multiple transmitting FM frequencies for better signal
  • Transmit music from iPod directly to FM radio
  • Charges iPod, cell phone, PDA, etc.
  • Digital LCD display
  • Made with quality by Scosche.

I decided to buy this transmitter when my other one, a generic and very cheap trans., broke. The other trans. worked most of the time, but when I drove into Dallas or if the ionosphere was messing with the stations, I would get a lot of static.

So I decided to go with a higher quality trans. that would last longer and work better. This trans. actually didn't work nearly as well as the cheap one! When I say cheap, I mean I got it for 5 dolls. on amazon, new!

In order to hear the station I would have to turn up my cars volume almost all the way up, and even then there was always some static in the back ground. Every now and again it would work fine, at high volumes, but not very often. Don't waste your money on this one, there are better ones you can get for less money.

Buy Scosche FMDT1 Shifter Style Digital FM Transmitter with USB Port Now

I wanted to start using my HTC EVO phone with Pandora and my stored MP3s. I thought that this would be a good item to use to transmit FM signals to my radio to hear the music.

Item arrived in the mail and I opened it and was happy to see that it felt like it was made of high quality plastic. Went out to my car and plugged it in and the little screen showed 88.9, the same as I use for my Sirius radio. Plugged in my EVO with Pandora playing music and turned on the radio. Nothing...... Static. Tried several different channels on the transmitter and the radio. All the channels where just static. So I am very disappointed that this transmitter doesn't work. So don't waste your time and money on this item.....

Perfect Fit Handlebar Bike Mount For iphone 4 / 3G / 3Gs,

Perfect Fit Handlebar Bike Mount For iphone 4 / 3G / 3Gs,I road bike alot and thought it would be a great way to have my phone and bike app at my finger tips.... But the way to attach to the bar was far to limited and small. Once I found a place to attach it, it was great for a whole week when it fell apart... the ring to tighten it down broke and so it's a waste of money.

Ignoring the warnings of other reviews, I purchased this device and only got around to using this week. I mounted it properly and it seemed to fit snug and secure.

I mounted it on my road bike. About five miles into a smooth ride I hit a small bump. The phone FLEW off bike, crashing down on the pavement. The velocity of the impact was more than my iPhone could withstand and was DESTROYED. The bracket was still on the phone it had separated into two pieces. Half staying on the bike the rest taking an express trip to the pavement with my iPhone.

Amazon should NOT be selling this defective and dangerous item. Shame on them. The $15 device will now cost me hundreds of dollars to recoup.

This was purchased from Amazon. The seller is AKRON. I will NEVER do business with them again and suggest you move with caution if you do. At least in this instance they are knowingly selling defective products and so is Amazon. Amazon should be ashamed. Read the other reviews. Don't make my mistake. This is JUNK.

You have been warned. Very poor product. Poorly designed. Poorly engineered. Poorly built.

Since I can't give negative stars, I will give this one.

This mount broke on the 2nd use. The plastic mount if not strong enough to hold on a bike. The mounting options are very limited because it fits only on a 1" tube. It will not fit over handle bar tape on a road bike.

I'm just glad that it broke while I was installing it indoors rather than at 20 mph on the road.

I bought one of these for my iPhone 3Gs. It doesn't seem that secure. I see in the manual it says not to use it on bumpy roads. So what kind of product is this?

From the manual "To insure that your device is secured to the pedestal, Arkon Resources, Inc. recomends using a strap to secure your device when using with Arkon cradles, universal cradles, or other products. This pedestal is not designed for off-road use or bumpy roads. If not secured properly, your device may fly off and become damaged."

Bare-Tool Makita BTW253Z 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 3/8-Inch Impact Wrench (Tool Only, No Bat

Bare-Tool Makita BTW253Z 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 3/8-Inch Impact WrenchSome reviewers mention lack of sufficient torque while others say the tool is quite powerful. I almost hadn't noticed but wanted to warn other readers that amazon is using the same reviews for the BTW450 and BTW253 impact wrenches. The 235 is rated for about half the torque of the 450, so they're very different tools in that respect.

well ive had this for about a year now. i absolutely love it. definitely is not a replacement for a high torque air impact wrench. but will definitely get most jobs done. takes care of most everything under the hood except for head bolts or crank pulley bolts and the like, nor will it break loose a properly torqued lug nut. 90 percent of the work that i do, this impact definitely does the job.

First off let me say that I wished makita would have come out w this gun sooner. It would have saved me $200 from buying my snap-on gun. I've used makita electric gun before and loved it. Never would have traded it in for a snap on gun if makita would have designed a better way to attach the battery on my 14.4v gun. But I digress, so far this gun is waaaaay lighter, more compact and stronger than my snap on gun. What more could u ask for? I know there are some reviewer that says its not as strong as the air gun but hey who's planning on taking crank pulley bolts off? Use the right tool for the job and get it done more efficiently. Look at the tool box of professional mechanics these days and u will see an electric gun in there somewhere. I now use this gun 90% of the time while I'm at work turning wrenches. Why deal w the hassle of dragging air hoses around?

I use this at the track to change wheels on my car. The wheel nuts are torqued to 80 lb/ft. The tool breaks them loose fine after about 2 seconds. Quality of the makita tools are really nice, better than the Dewalt tools I also own. Love the LED. I don't like the size of the makita charging station and mine is already making an awful sound while charging (the fan I believe.
