I ordered and received two charge controllers for solar applications. One unit was installed on a 200w BP solar panel to charge a car battery. The second was installed in an automatic gate opener with a small PV panel and a small auto battery. The chargers were robust mechanically, and the cinch connectors for the wires were just right for the size wires required.

This charger works OK for the Viewpad 7, but not nearly as fast as the original. The original charger has a 10 pin mini USB connector. It looks like a standard five pin mini USB, but has five additional pins and two of these are used for the fast charging. The pinout can be seen on the label on the original charger. I have not been able to find a proper replacement for the original charger.

I did a LOT of on line reviewing before purchasing my Genius 2 charger. I looked at many brand and narrowed it down to either Minn Kota or the NOCO Genius 2. I'm glad I went with the Gen2. I wired up the charger plug to a recessed outlet on my boat instead of the plug-in cord. The charger is small and light and give great power output for the money. 2 banks @ 10amps per bank. It automatically charges and then shuts off and goes into a "mainatain" mode. I charge both my starting batter and my deep cycle battery with it. It knows how to charge each batter based on the internal circuitry. I've used it about 1/2 a season (30 plus charges) and typically leave it plugged in for several days at a time. Batteries are perfectly charged and ready to go. I would HIGHLY recommend this charger to anyone who is looking for an onboard charging system for your boat. It beats the hell out of hooking up an individual battery charger after each trip. I just plug in an extension cord and I'm good to go. Amazon.com has the absolute BEST price on it too. Recently purchased this to replace a 2 bank 5 amp charger. Does everything as advertised. Leave it plugged in and walk away. If you are looking to buy a 3 bank charger for your boat, dont pay 300 or even 400 bucks for the ones at bass pro shops or cabelas. This one does everything the higher priced models do for 145 bucks. Obviously, durability is not known yet but if it lasts 5-10 years, I will be happy. As for the knucklehead who gave this a one star rating because it dont charge "36 volt" batteries, only "12"...........are you kidding me?? three 12 volt batteries make 36 volts!!! It charges all three at the same time......wow........

At first the lack of reviews and some issues discussed with other models made me leery of this purchase, but after research on other sites and talking to people here in the Northeast who used their generators after the ice storms heavily, I decided on this generator and I am very pleased. The generator arrived promptly, in excellent condition, was put in my garage for me, and took me all of 15 minutes to go from in the box to running. With the battery start, I know that my wife can start his up and key warm if we loose power in the winter, even if I am at work.

+ Easy set-up. Box to power in less than 15 minutes. Only tools needed is a box knife, socket set, and a box wrench.

+ Quick Start Guide. Really every thing you need to know to put it together and get it running.

+ Easy start. Kicked right over on the first turn of the key and the choke was off within a minute

+ Fuel Gauge. Some sites said it didn't have one, but it does.

+ Low Oil Shutoff. Some sites said it did not have one, but it does

+ Battery. Later I complain about what this unit did not include in the box, but they did include the battery. Some generators do not.

+ Weather Protectors. There are rubber covers over the power connections. Although this unit is not rain-proof, it dies keep moisture at a minimum.

+ Battery Trickle Charger. Plug in your generator to trickle charge the starter battery to keep it at its peak readiness.

+ Large Wheels. In conjunction with he fold down handle, rolls around easily.

+ Looks Good. Okay. it's a generator, but it does look nice.

Neutral Noise. Although not as quiet as a Honda, this unit is about the same noise level as my lawn tractor. Tolerable, but not great.

Neutral Oil Fill Location. Instructions say a funnel is optional to fill the oil. I recommend using one if you want to keep oil off the floor.

Minus What it Does NOT Come With. Many generators include a power cord, fuel stabilizer, a funnel, etc. The only thing you get with this generator is the oil and the starter battery. Is it too much to ask that you get everything you need out of the box and don't need to run about buying the pieces? It is not like these are inexpensive items to begin with. (NOTE This is not unique to this unit or this company. As you research, you will find that different companies include different things).

Update In October 2011 the NE suffered a early snow and this caused power to go out at my home for four days. The generator supplied us power for the entire four days and ran without issue. By balancing our load, not use any heavy demand items (oven, stove top, dryer, AC, etc.) and keeping the generator fueled (burned just under a gallon an hour on full load) we lived normally. My only complaint is that the keyed socket for the generator cable appears NOT to be the quality I would have liked and removal of the cable after the power came on was difficult and I could see damage to the socket.

Update #2 Maybe it is and October event, but the East Coast suffered another serious storm in October 2012 knocking out power in my area for a day. The generator had no real use since October 2011 (although I do run it under load once a month and use fuel stabilizer). The generator started right up and supplied us power for the duration. Again, other than the noise of he generator, you would have not known we were without power. As far as I can see, it looks and runs like brand new. I remain very satisfied with my purchase.

After waiting almost a month for it to come in stock Amazon finally shipped my 30471. No problems with the delivery or the state of packaging. Once opened the box I was surprised to see that manufacturing date was January 2010 which did not give me a warm fuzzy feeling about it. Upon further inspection I have noticed that inside base of the metal fuel tank is already have early indicators of rusting. To top it off, after fueling it up almost to a full, the fuel gauge is not working and sitting at empty. A call to Briggs only added further frustration as the woman answered the phone after 20+ minute hold time (which was suppose to be only 3 minutes as per the automated system) was the nastiest, most unhelpful customer I every had with my entire dealing with any customer support line. I was expecting any minute for for her to curse me for calling the customer support. First she says she can't find anything in English on the unit and then she claims that there is no gas gauge on that model and I must be talking about the gas cap. Upon convincing her that there is a gas gauge she finally finds it. She tells me that she is not sure if they have any fuel gauges available, if they do !!!! she would send me one. I asked if there would be instructions included on how to install the replacement gauge, she started to bark NO, it is just 2 screws holding it and if I am not comfortable doing it I should take it to a service center. So, this is the kind a sub human service you will get from Briggs apparently. Very promising for my future purchases. Briggs if you give the a damn about customer service, you should listen to your customer service call recording.

Anyway, the generator appears to work as it should otherwise and the battery had full change on it and started without issues. With all the rust starting to creep on the metal fuel tank you should make sure to install a fuel filter on the gas line before your engine gets destroyed...

This generator functioned very well when we needed it. During Hurricane Irene, we lost power. Fortunately, we had installed a generator connection sub-panel. This generator worked perfectly to give us the power we needed until our electricity was restored.

The generator came well-packaged with easy to understand instructions. The wheel kit was the only thing that needed to be assembled. After attaching the negative wire to the battery and adding some oil, the machine was ready to go. After making sure that the fuel feed was in the "on" position, the generator started on the first try with the key-start. Although it is not "quiet," it is probably more quiet than other generators with similar power ratings. For the money, this is a great generator that I do not hesitate to recommend to anyone needing a portable gasoline powered generator with 8,000 watts of running power.

I always liked Briggs and Stration products until now.

When I was a kid we purchased Briggs and Straton engines for our Go-carts and Mini-bikes. Never had any issues, they just ran and ran well.

Two years ago I decided to buy a portable generator as we have had several power outages, Edison does not pay for your defrosted freezer food.

Ok! I looked at retail stores in my area for a good quality generator and found nothing but cheap poor quality junk.

I went online and found the Briggs and Straton model 30471 and a Generac XG8000E, They both looked like good products. But since I did not know about Generac and had been buying Briggs and Straton as a kid,I decided to purchase the Model 30471 8000 watt portable generator.

I had to purchase it in Arizona as they do not sell this model in California, We brought it home in it's sealed box.

OK! Now when opening the box there was no manual or wheel hubcaps, I called B&S support for help. They sent incomplete hubcaps (missing the red attached parts) and told me to print the manual myself on their web page.

What crap service! Next they resent complete hubcaps,that were defective.

When I finally got ready to start the generator,the gas cap would not come off. The locking tabs on the gas cap were longer then the tanks opening tab slots, I had to rock and play with the cap to get it off. I called B&S again, They sent a new gas cap that was too small for the gas tank. Then they sent another gas cap that was razor sharp on the lower edge, It fit but sliced three of my fingers open.

The hech with the gas cap! I put gas in and used the original hard to remove and install gas cap.

When the engine started there were lots of rattles,I shut it off. Several shield bolts were missing from frame and muffler support. I called B&S again, First they sent One bolt when four were missing, I called again.

After installing all the missing bolts, I re-started the generator, It did not run well, misfiring, etc. I checked the fuel shut-off filter screen, First the fuel shut-off does not shut-off and the filter screen was blocked off about 35% with the plastic material molded to make the part. Also the fuel gauge always stays on empty.

I called B&S again for a fuel filter screen and shut-off valve, And fuel gauge.

The shut-off assembly arrived in two weeks complete,But the fuel gauge was missing the view portion. I called B&S again, they argued that the fuel gauge was complete, I had to take pictures of what they sent me and email them. Days later they called and said they saw the problem and were sending the proper part as a customer courtesy! Wow! The unit has a 3-year homeowner warranty and it is only 16 months old with 6 hours of use. What kind of favor are they giving me? NONE.

I found out this generator was made in China (there are some real good products from China), But here are more issues; The paint on the frame is blistering off in several areas, The frame is rusted under the paint. The frame was not properly cleaned before it was painted in China. I keep this unit in a finished garage and covered. The rust was under the paint from day one!.

Next issue; The right end 120 volt receptacle did not work. I desided to just order and pay for it from B&S, It arrived made by Cooper USA. It was totally different from the China receptable, There are six wires with thick ring terminals on the generator that need to go under receptacle screws. The Cooper receptable screws are staked at the ends so they can not be removed without stripping out the female threads in the receptacle.USA replacement parts on a China parts generator,Did not work.

I needed to use this generator for one day only,while Edison shut off our power for upgrades or repairs. This generator ran and misfired for about 8 hrs. while our power was off, I then shut it down and put it back in my garage. A few days later I noticed oil stained floor under this Briggs & Stratton generator, Now the engine valve cover is leaking oil onto my garage floor.

I GIVE UP!!!

This purchase of $1295. was a total mistake that caused me major stress. This unit looks brand new except blistering paint,oil leaking and total run hrs are only 11.

I am donating this Briggs and Straton generator, And will never buy anything with the Briggs and Straton name anywhere on it...

I just purchased a Generac XG8000E that I should have purchased in the first place, It cost $89. more but it it so much better quality then the Briggs and Straton. The Generac is Made in USA, Has a pressure fed oil system engine with a spin-on oil filter. *And most of all you can get original USA parts, And there are no issues.

Briggs and Straton had their generator built in China and now trying to adapt USA made generic replacement parts,When a replacement part is needed.

The people at Briggs and straton are sometimes rude, And many have no knowledge of the correct parts on the 30471 Elite series generator they sell.

Maybe I got a Lemon, I lost money buying it and gained more unwanted stress.

I honestly do not recommend this generator.

OK, that said, here's the rest of my review:

There are so many sketchy sellers selling phone chargers out there, that it can be a bit scary. The problem is that if the charger is poorly made, the output of the charger can be out of spec and can, in some cases, fry the phone you connect to it.

For that reason, when it comes to phone chargers, you should stick to name brands. (They are all made in China, but the name brand ones are usually subject to stricter QA).

When I found this charger on Amazon, SOLD BY AMAZON, I jumped on it. It's a MICRO USB car charger, made for Motorola and sold under the Motorola name, in retail packaging. The rated output is 4.75-5.25V and 950mA.

This charger should work fine with most any phone that uses the MICRO USB connector. The key number to pay attention to is the second one, the rated amperage. This is the MAXIMUM amount of current that the phone can request from the charger. A typical USB port on a PC provides as little as 100mA, and few provide more than 500mA. So this charger should charge your phone faster than when it's connected to a PC. A few phones out now can use up to 1000mA. But that just means they CAN use that amount. If 950mA is provided, they'll still charge, just a bit more slowly.

Note that the amperage (second number) merely tells you how much the charger CAN supply, if requested. The phone itself is responsible for asking for the current. That is to say, if this charger can provide 950mA, but your phone can only use 300mA--no problem. Your phone asks for 300mA and the charger provides all of what is requested. If, on the other hand, your phone can use 1000mA, this charger will provide all it can, which is 950mA--a wee bit less than the max asked for. That's also not a problem; it just means your phone will charge a little bit (not much in this case) more slowly. The rated voltage for this charger is presented in a range of 4.75-5.25V. The "ideal" voltage for a USB charger of any type if 5V. And most chargers for home use are rated right at 5V. But car chargers work in a noisier environment and thus you have the range. This is where a cheapo charger can really do damage, as some of them are poorly regulated and can provide voltages that are WAY out of spec. Again, when you can get a name brand charger from a seller you can trust (Amazon) for such a reasonable price, it's very foolish to consider the cheapo no-names.

This is an excellent quality name brand travel micro USB charger at a price that beats the no-name junk from third party sellers. What's not to like?

This is a great charger which charges quickly and is easily visible with its blue light showing power. It's the OEM microUSB car charger by Motorola. Works well with my phone and I'm very pleased with it! Can't do better with the price and transaction when purchased by SF Planet.

I have had this device for well over 2 years now! I live where it gets vary cold and it has always ran for me. I normally just have my laptop, GPS and phone charger plugged into it. It never has blown it's fuse yet. This has also has always been in the same place in my car, duck taped to my dash!

The only bad thing I can say about it is in the winter when its below 20F outside and I turn it on the fan is loud and I think the bearings need to be fixed but when it warms up it is quiet.

I originally bought this at a truck stop in Oregon, we were on a trip down to Florida. I must have used it for hours to charge stuff and watch movies, etc.

That was about 3 years ago, may dad keeps it in his truck and we still use it today!

To anybody who has any experience with inverters knows that there will be fan noise as the heat generated in the inversion process. This device was 20 bucks and i had it simultaneously charging a laptop, and ipad and a ipod touch with its 2 outlets plus usb. It worked great for me. I must admit the design of the cables is a little clunky but for 20 bucks this works great.

I bought this unit to recharge my Makita 18V lithium batteries on my way into work when I was in a jam. With the radio on and traveling down the highway at 70 MPH in a pickup truck I could still hear the fan on the unit alot more than expected. I tried recharging 2 different batteries on it and the charger said both batteries were defective. When I got home I was able to plug the charger into the wall outlet and every thing was fine. I purchased this for my trolling motor as my brother kept on me about getting a battery charger marine type. Anyway, it works just great and from my perspective, no second guessing, just simple hook it up and forget it! its slow and methodical.. when the green light comes on the battery is truly topped off to the brim. I have a sears fast charger that does the job quicker ,but the battery gets hot and doesnt seem to go as long on the trolling motor as when i use the schumacker. I thought it was pricey but after using it for several weak batteries, I would not sell it for any amount. I reactivated a dead maintenance free battery that had not been used in over 5 years. Took 48 hours but it de-sulphated and revived at least one dead cell. Battery voltage is now 12.9 VDC and will operate the starter for a 15 hp generator engine. Battery envolved is a CP 12180 12volt 18 Amphour sealed lead acid.

I also use it on my trolling motor batteries and get a superior charge.

Works well and would recommend it to friends or others. As this was my first experiance with this type of hands free device, except for the ones that you put in your ear,I would say it met my expectations. I have read other people's reviews on this same item so I did have some expectations. My only real complaint would be that it I have to ask the device to connect to my phone's voice commands every time I want to call someone or just to dial a number. My expectations were higher on that operation. I was thoroughly expecting to say call such and such and it would connect, not so. Besides that one item I am pleased with all other aspects. When I do purchase down the road I will look for one, if available, that will do the phone command right from the get go as a in ear piece does.

Although I had a friend advise me against buying device, I ordered a Blueant S4 Bluetooth device because I was convinced that it was the best. The main advantage of the Blueant was its true hands free advantage, via the Blueant key words, "Blueant, Speak to me!" Pairing of the device was easy, speaking to it was not. I can only imagine those who may have seen me driving around yelling, "Blueant, Speak to me!" over and over.

I decided to contact Amazon by phone to make arrangements to return the item. While on the phone with Amazon I explained the Blueant would not respond to the key phrase for hands free, uttering to the Amazon agent, "Blueant, Speak to me!" As the Blueant was sitting on the couch next to me it said, "say a command". Back in the box it went.

The key phrase works 5% of the time, yes I tried both re-pairing and resetting the Blueant device, but it was a no go.

I love this device! I've got a car that predates Bluetooth as an option and putting in an aftermarket car stereo seemed overkill just to get Bluetooth. The BlueAnt S4 does just what it says. I have 3 2 older and 1 newer. You have to buy a converter plug since the plugs are different on the dongles between old and new but the product is interchangeable. The new one is more for external uses. I needed help on the product choice so I called the manufacture. They really have a lot of options so do not be afraid to ask for help for tech-mate to pick the correct one for your application. Yet I wanted a product that I can use on the Atv's or the boat.

Actually, this tender is made by Honda, not Yamaha.

The package in this listing includes a variety of connects for the battery terminals. You can switch out the connects so that you can use this with just the terminal clamps, or, in my case, fastening the o ring connectors directly to the battery terminals for a permanent installation.

I've used this tender for over five years.

In that time, I have had it almost permanently hooked up to my tractor battery, and it has performed flawlessly the entire time.

This was designed for maintaining marine batteries, so, the waterproof feature means I can leave it outside, unprotected, on the tractor.

I wired it permanently to the battery terminals so that all I have to do is plug it in.

If I really deplete the battery on the tractor (heavy starting in cold weather and heavy use of lights on the tractor) it will take about a day or day and a half to charge it back up.

If I am just using a normal warm weather start on the tractor battery, it only takes about a half an hour, at .8 Amps, to recharge the battery.

The unit is fairly compact, and, even with long cords, tucks up neatly under the tractor seat.

In all, given its reliability, quality, waterproof case, and, the requirement for almost zero maintenance, this tender is the best bargain.

For a good price of approximate $4.50 (as I recall) plus shipping, I ordered the BargaincellBrand New Ikross Retractable car cigarette lighter adapter. It did not work. I suppose I could have packaged it up and sent it back (at a cost to me) and probably received a replacement. But for the cost of the unit, it was not worth my time. I've resorted to using a standard car recharger.

Helps reduce clutter, and now I can actually close my cup holder tray (Acura RDX).

This car charger is amazing for the price. You go to your service provider store and buy a car charger and it will cost you 30 bucks but you pay a fraction of that price and buy one of these and it works so much better. The retractable cord is an awesome feature you can actually talk on the phone while your driving because the cord is pretty long unlike ones that you can purchase from cigular, or sprint stores.

This is a convenient car accessory, that fits into the cigarette lighter and can charge USB devices such as iPods and some cameras and camcorders, but also serves as a 3-prong plug for lots of small devices. It's not enough power to plug in a computer, it's only 30 Watts after all, but it is enough for most portable devices such as cell phones or Kindles. I've charged an iPhone through the USB and a digital camera through the plug at once and it works just fine. Just for the fun of it I tried a hair dryer and, as you'd expect, it was no dice. I like the fact that the charger plug folds in for compact convenience, and allows you to orient the USB and outlet plugs in various positions for convenience. There's a green light to show when it's on and available to charge. It does exactly what I expected, is compact enough to be useful, and it seems to be quite durable. Works just fine.

My family all has devices we travel with. Especially for longer trips. It almost seems like the car is getting overrun with stuff!! I travel daily for my job (not far...but from place to place) and often realize my ipad, kindle fire, etc. (which i use FOR work) is nearly dead. This device is well made and has a quality feel. The 2.1 amps is great for the USB charging ports (much higher than most), but 30W is a bit week for an inverter. Still that's enough for small devices and the limit is clearly stated here, so it should not come as a surprise. Note the inverter will run something like a GPS unit or Android tablet, PDA, ipad, e-reader, etc. and will also charge those devices requiring an A/C charger as long as they don't draw more than 30 W, so there are many uses for this on the road, in an R/V, and similar.

The price is reasonable, the quality is good, and it does what it says it will do. There's also a generous 3-year warranty. All in all, a handy gadget and a good value.

I absoubtly love the this car charger. I am not really a gadget guy but I do own a few things that I sometimes need charging like my kindle and a tablet. Both charge effortlessly with the Duracell charger. The connection is snug so I dont have to keep checking to see if my items are charging. There is not to say except the product works like it promised, is easy to use and compatable with my electronic devices that I use most often.

Once upon a time where ever cell phone and do-dad used proprietary chargers, a 30watt inverter could at least allow you to use what you have for at home on the go. This inverter does that well, but nowadays so many (thankfully) use some plug that can attach to a USB port or a charger with a USB output. Alas a double edged sword, on the one hand the included 2.1 amp USB port does a great job in those scenarios, but it almost makes the somewhat cumbersome size/shape of the device unnecessary (a stand-alone car USB adapter can accommodate that in a much smaller package).

Is this for you? Maybe, it definitely gets the job done, and it makes a great USB charger (2.1 amps is rather generous), but it can be awkward for some cars due to the locations of power ports.
