Haven't used this charger much yet since I just got it but right off the bat I noticed that the spring-loaded buttons on the side which hold it in place in the lighter socket don't do a very good job of holding it firmly. It's pretty loose and trying to disconnect your USB cable will pull the whole thing out which is a little annoying. My other Scosche dual USB charger holds much more firmly (but doesn't offer the 2amp port for iPads).

Quick Summary: Pass this one up. Specs looks good on paper but performs horribly in the real world. It's not worth the cost or headache and you won't be happy with the PowerGen Dual USB Port 2A 10w (fast) Heavy Duty Charger Black.

I purchased the PowerGen Dual USB Port 2A 10w (fast) Heavy Duty Ouput Car Charger Black because the specs sounded great and was what I thought would fit my needs. However after having received it and used it for 4 months I can say that it was a waste of money. As other reviewers mentioned it does not fit well into the car outlet socket. The metal contacts on either side of the PowerGen are rounded and not flat. As a result you have very little surface area holding the PowerGen into the socket as only the very tops of the contacts are actually in contact with the side walls of the socket. As a result it falls out easily as your car vibrates or hits bumps in the road.

In addition I've had problems with the PowerGen actually working. When plugged in it lights up as it's suppose to but does not supply power to the devices plugged into it. I've tried both USB Ports and neither work. I've tried multiple cables and none work. I've tried Iphones and Ipads and none will charge.

I noticed this happening intermittently the first week I got it. I'd have my Iphone plugged in and it would be charging and then all of a sudden it'd stop charging. Thinking that the PowerGen had come loose in the socket I'd try pushing it back in and jiggling it and the phone would "bleep" and start charging again. At first I thought that it was just coming loose and it stopped happening after a while but it started happening again more frequently and I noticed that when the phone would stop charging that the blue light on the unit would still be on. Now 4 months later it's not working at all. It lights up but as I said before none of the ports gets power and nothing will charge. Not very useful except maybe as a night light.

Fortunately this PowerGen piece of junk wasn't too expensive as I now have to purchase another car USB charger. I can tell you this though, it won't be another PowerGen Dual USB Port piece of junk. If I could return it I would.

This is a good car charger that features two USB charging ports that can be used at the same time. One USB port is designed for Apple products but I could charge iPads and iPhones in both USB sockets. Output 1 is rated at 1 Amp and output 2 is rated at 2 Amps. The maximum combined output when using both ports is 2 Amps.

The unit comes with no cables but since it is touted as a universal charger and there are so many different types of charger cables I cannot fault them for not supplying one. Many chargers with cables are over $20 to $25 and the cables may only fit one family of devices.

Note the total charging current capacity of the charger is 2 amps and 10 watts total combination of both of the charger ports. If two devices are plugged in they share the 2 Amperes max charging current. This needed to be restated as it does affect your charging rate when trying to charge high current devices like Apple iPads.

* The unit did not charge the HP TouchPad as claimed but so far I have tried a dozen different charging devices and none of them will charge the HP TouchPad except the original HP charger and the HP Touchstone. The HP TouchPad requires a strong 5.3 VDC at 2.08 Amps. When I tried it I got the HP error message that the charging device was not supplying either enough voltage or current to effectively charge it.

* The user manual is OK but still has some poor grammar in it. (It is better than my Chinese though)

This is a good product and the price is good also. It performs as it states it should except for the lack of charging an HP TouchPad. It falls somewhere between a 4 to a 5 star rating and because it worked so well on my iPads I give it a 5 star rating.

I purchased this product with the intention of using it for charging my laptop while on the road. According to the product's spec sheet, it is rated to supply 140-watts of continuous power (and 150-watts peak) and it is marketed as being a suitable power supply for laptops. Unfortunately, when I plugged my laptop (which uses a 90-watt charger) in to the unit it would overload and trip the surge protection after a few seconds. I was thoroughly unamused.

Additionally, I found this nugget from a review on Newegg:

"The problem with this unit is that neither the hot or the neutral plug on the unit are referenced to ground. In other words, the neutral actually has a potential of 60v above ground. This can lead to some shocking situations. The ground leg of the inverter is just a dummy hole -there is no actual ground.

In layman's terms, the electrical design of this unit is very poor and would never achieve household electrical standards. I can't figure out how they are allowed to manufacture and sell this unit especially when they advertise it for use with laptops."

And upon further inspection, I can confirm that this is accurate, which could possibly be the reason why my laptop charger overloads the unit despite the fact that the unit is supposed to be able to supply 140-watts continuously.

This unit does seem to work well for small electronic devices, but I cannot recommend this unit for any electrical device that draws much power or uses a 3-prong connector.

This item came in very handy after we experienced a hurricane. Power was out for a couple days and this little thing charged everything. Laptops, phones, PSP, I worked my juice blender from my car!

plus, there is also a fan inside that keeps the plugs cool to the touch. A bit noisy because of the fan, but the power and convenience far outweighs that.

I definitely recommend!!

When I took several electronic items on the road (including my laptop), I was glad to have this small device along. It allowed me to work while my husband drove, and ensure that if I wasn't able to charge my laptop at night, I could quickly plug it in while traveling.

I keep it now as a handy "emergency" back up plan ... and will carry it with me next month when I am on the road again, although most of my electrical charging is done through USB chargers now my iPad has replaced my laptop for road trips!

What I enjoyed most about it was that it flexes, allowing you to angle it in a way that makes plugging your device in easy.

I bought mine in a retail store back in 2008 (for over $30), and love it. Never had a problem with it not handling the load of my laptop and other devices in my car, and for long periods of time. However, yes, it is noisy.

Wanting to get another one, I've had this in my cart for a while, watching the price go down and up and down again, and today discovered that some peeps have had problems with it not being grounded and tripping off. I suspect there was a stretch of poorly assembled units, but if this issue is resolved by the manufacturer, I can attest that this is a pretty nifty device to keep in your car for all kinds of needs and particularly emergencies, such as if your mobile phone dies and you're a long way from home--you can keep a car charger in your car for your mobile, sure. Or you can have something like this that works for multiple uses.

The charger works pretty good. It charges my Tilt's battery with a level higher then a PC USB cord but lower then a regular wall-jack electrical charger.

The only issue I have with this charger is that it's cord is quite short, such that when connected I'll have to look down to the phone, if for example somebody is calling and I want to see who it is.

Over all, for the ridiculously low price paid, can't really complain.

I do a whole lot of camping and hiking where I am away from power sources for prolonged periods of time but I like to keep my cell phone and a few other electronic devices with me just in case of emergency. Because of this, I have purchased solar chargers in the past and none of them worked as well as advertised...and sometimes not at all. Even though this charger might seem more expensive, its the only one that I have purchased that ACTUALLY worked. Like some of the other reviewers, I still use my old Kyocera flip phone because it does what I want it makes and receives phone calls and that is all I need. It came with an AC charger but I had never gotten around to getting a 12 volt car charger for it. The only negative of my Virgin Mobile Optimus V phone by LG is that it has a relatively short battery life. I bought a couple of these in order to give an extra one to my kids and to have one at work. These are perfectly identical to the original ones which came with my Optimus.

Almost as good as the one that came with the phone. Only flaw is that it fits very loose into the phone and you have to jiggle it to get the connection. Then it can't be moved without losing the connection.

I purchased this item to top off the pressure in my car & mortorcycles tires and certainly not to inflate a tire from scratch.

Even after having fully charged the battery,the charge held for approximately only 2 minutes. I was not even able to increase the tire pressure AT ALL.

Unless I fell on a lemon, I do not recommend this item and have returned it to the vendor.

I've owned this pump for a month now and so far so good. I was a little concerned at first because after charging the battery for the suggested 24 hours I only seemed to get a few hours use out of it. In addition after running the battery down I put the battery on my battery meter and it read full charge. I'm not sure what the situation was, but after charging the battery for an additional five or six hours I was able to get several days of light use out of a charge.

I am not using the included pressure gauge, as I'm not convinced it actually works. I tested it when I first got the pump and felt it really didn't do anything so I took it off to reduce the "foot print" of the pump.

I bought this pump to use at the soccer pitch during training days. I was tired of having to hand pump a handful of balls every week and thought I'd work smarter not harder. This pump has allowed me to do that. I recommend the pump because the price won't break the bank, and it's just small enough and powerful enough to get the job done.

I purchased this unit to power the Koolatron Compact Kooler, which uses 4.5 amps. I initially purchased the Sunforce 55520, which was a big mistake. It arrived dead on arrival and after some research I realized that it never really had the power to run the fridge, even though it boasts 5.8 amps.

However, this worked great right out of the box. My first impression was that it was definitely much heavier than the Sunforce 55520 and it seemed to cool the fridge effortlessly. I precooled my fridge for about 12 hours before plugging it in the car and the adapter never got hotter than lukewarm.

If you need an AC/DC Power Converter that will power a device upto 5 amps, go with the 5 Amp AC to 12V DC Power Adapter. You won't regret the decision.

There's very little to say about a power supply that works properly. I used this to supply power to my QHY8 astronomical camera, which wants 4 amps at 12 volts. I typically use it for 6-8 hours at a stretch, and while it gets warm, it does the job. This supply was reasonably priced, and it's smaller than the similar 12V DC power supply I purchased to power my anti-dew strips.

I tried to operate a 12-volt fan that is rated at 2.6 Amps and the voltage dropped WAY below 12 volts-making it severely underpowered. The adapter says it can handle 5 amps, I would hate to think what actual voltage it is putting out if you try to put that much load on it. I have used many generic branded 12-volt adapters and never seen a single one perform THIS badly!

I plugged it in and it's been working for 20 minutes so far, the mAh is half of the regular charger so I expect it to be quite a bit slower. The thing is, the plug is snug. Almost too snug. I lost my AC charger for my Archos 101 while on vacation. I found this here on Amazon. It claims to be an AC charging cord. I ordered it. It arrived promptly. I plug it into my Archos....it begins charging it....but it never goes over 18%. The screen pops open and says that the battery level is low. The Archos then begins "discharging" the battery. The outlet plug became very HOT. It might work for other models of Archos but not this one!

No directions, and we didn't know the altoilds gum cases this kit was designed for are no longer available. Still, we had a blast and it works! Had to go online for the actual instructions. Not a huge deal, but odd they weren't included.

putting electronics in a metal box.... Got several charges for my IPhone. I didn't trim my leads short enough, they eventually pierced the double sided tape and shorted, causing the battery holder to melt. Wish they sold a plastic enclosure of the correct size.

It didn't kill my IPhone ;)

As an avid iPhone and iPod toucher user and new to electronic circuitry building, I wanted to try a simple project for my first experiment. The instructions for the Minty Boost were good and within a couple of hours I had a functioning charger for my iPhone 3GS and iPod touch. Great starter kit! I have not tried it with my new iPhone 4S yet. I am definitely looking forward to trying other kits and providing this one as an opportunity for my younger sons to try.

I have owned several of these gun and loved the performance and versatlity. I rivet alot in my job and have always used air till about 3 years ago. This unit will pull a mono bolt and up to a 1/4 steel rivet with not sweat. Battery on full charge works well, but want last with heavey use more than 1 shift and steel riveting about 3 to 4 hours. I certainly will buy more as needed. This brand seems to work well for me.

The charger works fine and I was kinda skeptical about the Generation X Cell Atenna, but I stuck it in my phone and it went from 2 bars to 3 bars. The shipping cost more that the product, but because the product was so cheap, it still came out cheaper than buying a similar product here.

Just what I needed, at the right price. Works as it should. Extremely reasonably priced. Merchant was spot on. Kept me up to date on progress of order and it was delivered VERY quickly! Would highly recommend merchant and product.

Bought 2 of these instead of the overpriced chargers from Sprint. 1 is still working well but the other will not stay plugged into the phone. Charger appears cheap but works OK. The locking mechanism is not very good and I was unable to talk on the phone while trying to charge it. Overall not bad for a few bucks. Didn't even bother with the antenna booster.

I receive a different charger when it was deliver to my home. It is nothing like the picture. It's in a cheap plastic bag. It looks like it came from the Dollar store. Don't buy it. Amazon should take this product off line.

Stromberg Carlson EXT-3542 Extend-A-Shower

Ok so I purchased this 'Extend-A-Shower' knowing full well that the dimensions of my campers shower stall were 3 inches too small for what the manufacturers recommend for proper installation. Well once I got it, I was easily able to modify the length of the center bar by 4 inches and it is totally amazing. I'm sure the manufacturers don't recommend that you shorten things but it was so easy to do. It is made very well and is sturdy too. I probably voided the warrantee but for the 40 bucks I paid, it was totally worth it. This is a great product and I would recommend to anyone that needs a little extra space in a tight little bathroom.

Wow, what a difference this shower rod makes! We have an incredibly tiny bathroom in our RV, but the shower pan is a fairly usable size. Almost got one of those sliding screens, but then saw this one and decided to try it. With the addition of a clear shower curtain, our bathroom now is very usable, the shower area in particular being as roomy as a fixed corner shower we had in a 36' diesel pusher. And pushing the curtain back into the shower area afterwards makes the toilet area much less claustrophic! All in all, a great invention. Installation was done by myself with just screwdrivers and drill.

We bought this to go into our Travel trailer where space is limited. The extend a shower is a great idea to give a little extra elbow room, also works as a clothing rack to dry wet clothes. Its says it can be cut down to a smaller size which we did just wish it gave you instructions on how. When we measured the space it measured at 32" the bar measured at 35" we actually had to take a total of 4" off but did this at 1" at a time to make it fit. Thank god I have a crafty husband!!! Overall its a good product would recommend.

We recently moved up to a 18' travel trailer from our 20 year old pop-up and one of the features we were looking forward to was a shower and a bathroom. Being a larger guy, I was a bit disappointed in how tight the shower was, especially around the shoulder area as the curtain rubbed right up against me. I thought about getting one of those curved shower bars like in hotels but the ones I found were too long since they were designed for full size showers. A quick check on Amazon in the RV section brought me to the Stromber Carlson Extend-A-Shower. It was only a few bucks more than what I had seen at Home Depot but at least it would fit in the trailer. I was intrigued about the flexible curve as well.

Amazon's delivery was as amazing as always (ordered on Sunday afternoon, had it Monday evening) and the installation was very easy with only a screwdriver and pilot drill. No cutting and very solid. The Extend-A-Shower is signficantly better built than the shower rod I took out and the bend in/out feature of the Extend-A-Shower is incredible! While getting all the room I needed in the shower, I also now have a similar amount of extra space in the bathroom since the shower curtain is fully out of the way when not in use. This is a "Run, don't Walk" product to get and every tight bathroom/shower should have one! Thanks again, Amazon!!!

This is a must have product! Showers with curtains in campers are almost always really small and you feel cramped in. This product us just great. You have so much more arm room! Also as an added bonus the picture does not really show you is that is extends "into" the shower as well so when not in use you have a lot more arm room in the bathroom when you have shower curtain all the way out like for drying. This is a great product. As soon as we got it installed we bought another one for our other camper.

I thought I was ordering a genuine LG product, but I received a generic non-LG car charger. I was fooled by the listing of the 11-digit LG part number. Charging Lithium-Ion batteries can be tricky. If you use the wrong charging algorithm, the battery can overheat or explode. At the very least, you could shorten the life of the battery. In deciding whether to buy a genuine or aftermarket charger, one thing to consider is how much of the charging circuitry is in the charging adapter and how much is in the phone. In this case, the charging adapter contains an intelligent IC chip. The charger I received claims to work with all NiCd, NiMH and Li-ion batteries. So, maybe it's not optimized for my batery. Another function of the charger is to protect your phone from voltage transients generated when starting your vehicle. In some cases, brief spikes up to 60 volts can appear on your 12 volt outlet. The charger I received protects from these spikes by the attachment of a warning sticker telling you you must disconnect it whenever you are starting your vehicle. That doesn't sound very convenient. The warning sticker also tells you to disconnect it when leaving the vehicle. In all fairness, the charger may work perfectly fine. I gave it 2 stars because I didn't receive the item I was expecting. There are other listings on Amazon for genuine LG product for only 17 cents more. For me, the confidence in not voiding my phone warranty is worth an extra 17 cents. Another thought: I ordered a 120 VAC travel charger form BargainCell at the same time and received a genuine LG product. Maybe they just made a mistake.

My phone has a different plug in end than the one sent. I wanted to be able to use this to charge my phone in the car. Unfortunately, the ends didn't match. I had to return it. I sent a copy of the end needed to the vendor, haven't heard back from them as of yet.
