CAR CHARGER FOR BLACKBERRY PEARL RIM 8100 8300 8800

When the charger arrived, it said 3V, which must be 3 volt output. The wall charger is listed at 5.2 V output. When I typed the model number into Google, it showed that that model is for a motorola phone; BlackBerry is not listed. So I am afraid to plug it in, for fear it will harm my BlackBerry. ???
