HQRP 85 Watt Solar Panel 85W Power (Size of 80 Watt / 80W) 12V Monocrystalline PV Module plus HQRP

Goods showed up, was installed and works as per the description.
There could have been more documentation included but I knew what I was doing so it was not a big problem.
I measured the outputs and found them to be very close to the specs (17volt/5amp).Recieved the solar panel as a gift. I had it mounted on my 2006 981 Lance Max Camper with dual batteries. This panel keeps my batteries in top condition and fully charged by evening. Great product. Plan on buying another one to hook up in series on my camper for extended dry camping.Made custom mounting hardware for this panel. It was easy to install and I saw a peak amp output of 4.8 Email me of a picture!I've copied my review of this panel and a charge controller combo (HQRP Solar Power Controller 10Amp 150W with Digital LED Display) since my review contains details for both products and might be useful to others.
I purchased a relatively large Jayco camping trailer (Pop-up) this year and wanted to be able to dry camp for a week at a time and not need to haul along a generator or be overly worried about conserving electricity. After doing the math I upgraded the stock group 24 battery to a group 29 and found this panel/charge controller combination for a bit of a discount over buying each separately. I did a few "dry-runs" at home by discharging my battery 20-40% and bringing it back up with this panel and controller and my battery was left with the same charge that my Schumacher SC-600A charger left it at so the controller's charging logic seemed sound. Using this in the field I'm happy to have plenty of power to the point that the charge controller is usually indicating a full battery by 9:30-10:00 each morning after a night with a few hours of running about 20 watts of dome/patio lights, the water pump as necessary, two small fans overnight and the furnace induction and blower fans as needed. The system has been reliable and performance has been great so far. While I haven't hooked up a meter to verify output, my back-of-the-envelope calculation based on draining up to 40% of the rated capacity of my battery and then charging it with this panel/charge controller combination it seems to be working as advertised.
I used some 10AWG outdoor rated wire and connectors leftover from my home PV installation I completed about 3 years ago which allows me to place the panel up to 20' from the battery to get it clear of trees or other shade that we like to place our trailer beneath. Worse case I can pull the battery off and move both battery and panel/charge controller to a more favorable charging location during the day and return it to the trailer once charging completes. I crimped some ring terminals on the wires going from the charge controller to the battery for easy installation/removal keeping these wires about 2' long to reduce losses from the charge controller to the battery and keep the charge controller sheltered by the bunk that slides out over the front of the trailer. Being 85 watts this panel isn't small so spend the time to look at the dimensions and make sure it will fit wherever you plan to store and use it. Mine stows beneath the dining table with about 6" to spare.
I did discover that the panel is reasonably tough as my wife mentioned to me one evening that she caught our friends' kid standing on it behind our trailer. Yes, actually STANDING on the glass portion of the panel while it was lying behind our trailer. This panel is build in the same manner as my 200 watt panels on my roof with an aluminum frame and PV cells glued to the back side of a panel of glass. Now I know this panel can support at least 40 pounds of kid without failing. I was prompted to put together a small "A-frame" stand made with leftover aluminum rail and brackets from my home install so now I can do a better job of optimizing the tilt of my panel and hopefully avoid subjecting the panel to a load-bearing stress test!I have 4 of these panels, and all four are running flawlessly.
Mine are mounted to the top of my converted cargo trailer, and power a bank of 8 125 AH Deep cycle batteries.
The environment that these panels are in is subject to a lot of wind, vibration, and of course exposure to the elements.
They have stood up well, and only need cleaning every couple of months or so.
I have noticed that the power output was slightly higher then the specs say at first, but they settle down
after a month or two.
These panels arrived fast, and where fairly well packed. I noticed only one of the four had a minor scuff, where the edge of the box had been dented in.
It is true that these are not the most efficient, nor the cheapest panels one can buy, but you don't have to buy a pallet of them,
they are perfect for 12VDC systems, and are easy to hook up.
The frames of these panels have plenty of extra room to mount your own custom hardware to, or if need be, mounted together to form one larger panel.
Great panel, fast shipping, super easy instal, and best of all
they just plain work!

I bought this item and it arrived in a poorly packaged sleeve (with no label or company name). That was my first indication that something was wrong. The item doesn't turn off when the car is parked so it will drain your battery if you don't remove it (inconvenient). I used it in my car for about 2 3 months until it randomly stopped working. As a final "see ya, sucker!" move, it blew a fuse in my car (the lighter fuse where it was plugged in) so I had to fix that as well.Don't waste your money. Just use a regular charger at home or find a real website that's selling this model.

eForCity Compatible with Samsung© Infuse 4G cell phone car charger

Since there are few people here who are satisfied with the product, this possibly means that when orders are prepared for shipment, different chargers get mixed up and people end up receiving different chargers than they ordered. Some people who are lucky get the exact charger and some who are not, like me, get a different charger.
Since I only paid $3 for it, I decided to forget about it and just write a review that might help both the seller and buyer in future sales.

eForCity Universal USB Car Charger Single Port

1. The charger that I received doesn't appear to be the same charger pictured on the product description. (eg., completely different molded body, glass tube fuse instead of plastic-encased fuse.)
2. It won't charge my iPhone properly. After some testing with a multimeter, it seems the output is close to 6 VDC, despite being labeled as 5 VDC +/5%, which would be a max. voltage of 5.25 VDC.
Overall, it's not worthless. Other less sensitive USB-powered products may be able to be charged by this.I bought two of these, both fell apart (literally) within several weeks of infrequent use. Even when they worked, they never worked reliably and required connstant twisting and turning and pushing to get a connection. The whole thing looked like they were put together by a child (no, I'm just talking figuratively and not implying what you think I'm implying about Chinese labor, which is a whole different issue). A gentle squeeze, the thing goes squeaky and shaky. Unlike most other car adapters, this one doesn't have a snugly fit into the cigarette lighter. It is just so wobbly everywhere. Avoid such low quality products to keep your life sane.
An update: I subsequently purchased a few Universal Mini USB Car Charger Adapters offered by Eforcity (search Amazon or eBay). What a difference. The Universal Mini USB Car Charger Adapters is exactly what this product should be made alike. Solid, compact, and reliable. Both are inexpensive Chinese made products, but one is total junk and other a gem.

Pros: Inexpensive and eforcity is quick to ship. Fuse, easy to disassemble(easy to modify to work with new iPhone 3G/Samsung Moment/Rant). Works to charge a lot of USB connected devices(Phones,PDA,older iPods,Bluetooth wireless adapters, etc...).Cons: Not compatible with all Phones or newer iPods. BUT there is a solution that requires soldering and two 100k Radio$hack resistors.
Overall impression: Good deal, decent build quality, easy to take apart to "fix/modify it" to get it working with newer iPods/iphones/cell phones.

This device works as expected no issues at all.I do think the body is bigger than it should be, and can be reduced by 50% or more, with essentially a "stub" containing the USB port.
Still this is priced right and works.

Pro:-Works well with many devices
-Snugly fits in the cigarette lighter
-Light tells you if you have power
-GREAT PRICE!!!
-Although slightly bulky, it's great that it has no cord of it's own. When traveling I would be bringing my spare 3715WW Tungsten 5 cable (see my other review) anyway, so there's less tangly mess to deal with
Con:
-Slightly bulky... for it's size I think that it could have 2 connections so that 2 devices could be powered/recharged at one time
Bottom line: Highly recommended.

Garmin GPS's have fairly good battery life, but after a couple of days of using your Garmin in a car, the batteries are going to be dead. Drive a long distance in one day, 15+ hours, and the batteries in your Garmin will be dead. This can be very anonying if your out RV'ing or Off-Roading for the weekend or the week.So Garmin has fixed this problem by making a Cigarette Adapter and PC Interface cord that attaches to your Garmin GPS.
Now you can cruise around all day with all of the features of your Garmin GPS turned on, and don't have to worry about the batteries dying. I think that is a big plus.
My only complaint is that I wish the cord was longer. It's good length, but some how I feel that I am going to need a longer cord one day and it's going to annony me that it is not.
So, if you drive alot with your Garmin GPS, get this and save money on batteries.

Not only do I go geocaching (..., to learn more), but I also use my GPS in the car with me basically all the time; especially on long road trips. I do think that my GPS does have a good battery life by itself, considering that many other electronic devices like this tend to go through batteries like there's no tomorrow. But, the batteries do get worn down if you leave the GPS on for quite a while, like when you're driving. Hence, that's why I bought this product.First of all, I decided to get this adapter with both the cigarette lighter plug-in and the computer adapter because I not only wanted to plug the GPS into my car, but I also wanted to download waypoints from the internet to store onto the GPS. Like I said, I go geocaching, and before I had this adapter, I had to manually enter in all of the coordinates to each of the waypoints. It can be done, but it does take up a lot of time. Instead, now I can just plug this adapter into my computer, along with the GPS, and download all of the coordinates to their own waypoints onto the GPS. I also saved all of my waypoints that I had already stored onto my computer, as a back-up measure. In case they ever get deleted off the GPS, for some reason. In summary, the computer adapter is definitely a time saver if you find yourself manually entering waypoints.
Secondly, I used the cigarette adapter plug-in during my summer vacation. I was on the road for 1,000 + miles, with my GPS plugged in the whole time. The great thing is, I didn't go through any batteries the entire trip! Sure, they did drain a bit because I used the GPS outside of the car, but I'm sure I would have been going through new batteries every day without the adapter. One more thing that I liked is that the GPS does not turn off when you turn your vehicle off. If you have batteries installed in the GPS, it will automatically power off of them when you turn off your car engine. It does this flawlessly, too.
All in all, if I could, I probably would give this product 4.5 stars. My major gripe with this produce is that Garmin does not provide USB support. My computer only has one serial port, and I already had another device plugged into it. So I have to swap them whenever I want to use this. USB would probably transfer the data between the computer and GPS faster. Also, the price of this product is a little steep, as well; I don't think Garmin would hurt that much to lower their MSRP a little bit.

This item is an absolute must for operating your GPS unit out in the field when connected to a computer of some sort. Simply relying on the Garmin GPS's internal batteries leaves you with only an eight hour window of operation while if the unit is attached to an external power source one can expect unlimited usage. It is crazy how over-priced this cable really is. It is crazy that I actually bought it. If you don't mind the price, this cable is well made. I finally upgraded the firmware of my Geko 201 with this cable. BTW, the bootleg version of this cable costs almost as much, and probably costs more after you add the shipping cost. See what a crazy world we live in?Wednesday, October 16, 2013

Rapid Car Charger with IC Chip for Sprint Motorola Renegade V950

The features I like most are that there is an access hole in the bottom to plug in a charger, FM transmitter, or whatever else you have to plug in, and the iPod can be easily removed to put your pod into a docking station or stereo system (iHome, etc.).
It looks exactly as it does in the pictures with removable belt clip and magnetic snap that holds the cover closed.
Finally the price can't be beat.

Duracell DRINVM30 30W Mobile Inverter with 2.1 Amp USB Port

This solves that. you just need a regular "plug" or a USB!! Nice!!!! My car even has an odd angled plug inside the ashtray (yes, my car still has one of those..and people use it!) so sometimes the "stick" on car chargers won't fit right. The swivel on this is really well-thought out. I use it very often. I travel daily for my job (not far...but from place to place) and often realize my ipad, kindle fire, etc. (which i use FOR work) is nearly dead. This gives me charging options when I am stuck in the car. Bottom line: Just a great little gadget that lets you avoid having to buy device-specific car chargers.
Buy Duracell DRINVM30 30W Mobile Inverter with 2.1 Amp USB Port Now
This device is well made and has a quality feel. The 2.1 amps is great for the USB charging ports (much higher than most), but 30W is a bit week for an inverter. Still that's enough for small devices and the limit is clearly stated here, so it should not come as a surprise. Note the inverter will run something like a GPS unit or Android tablet, PDA, ipad, e-reader, etc. and will also charge those devices requiring an A/C charger as long as they don't draw more than 30 W, so there are many uses for this on the road, in an R/V, and similar. The price is reasonable, the quality is good, and it does what it says it will do. There's also a generous 3-year warranty. All in all, a handy gadget and a good value.

I absoubtly love the this car charger. I am not really a gadget guy but I do own a few things that I sometimes need charging like my kindle and a tablet. Both charge effortlessly with the Duracell charger. The connection is snug so I dont have to keep checking to see if my items are charging. There is not to say except the product works like it promised, is easy to use and compatable with my electronic devices that I use most often.Want Duracell DRINVM30 30W Mobile Inverter with 2.1 Amp USB Port Discount?
Once upon a time where ever cell phone and do-dad used proprietary chargers, a 30watt inverter could at least allow you to use what you have for at home on the go. This inverter does that well, but nowadays so many (thankfully) use some plug that can attach to a USB port or a charger with a USB output. Alas a double edged sword, on the one hand the included 2.1 amp USB port does a great job in those scenarios, but it almost makes the somewhat cumbersome size/shape of the device unnecessary (a stand-alone car USB adapter can accommodate that in a much smaller package). Is this for you? Maybe, it definitely gets the job done, and it makes a great USB charger (2.1 amps is rather generous), but it can be awkward for some cars due to the locations of power ports.
