HQRP Replacement Battery Charger KIT for Kodak EasyShare LS420, LS433, LS443, LS633,LS743, LS753 wi

HQRP Replacement Battery Charger KIT for Kodak EasyShare LS420, LS433, LS443, LS633,LS743, LS753 with HQRP Black Mini Tabletop TripodI wasn't sure this was the right charger for my daughter's digital camera/camcorder, but it apparently fits numerous camera brands, and it worked beautifully with ours. The box contained not just a wall charger but several other items including a little tripod; there were also directions in the box, and they were so easy to understand that we had her camera charged and on the tripod almost immediately. Good product and it was a nice surprise to get extras along with the charger.

Incredible buy, actually it was for my Samsung cell phone. For just a few dollars I got a car charger, a flexible rubber case for the phone and a USB PC wire. The USB wire was not for this phone however. Still the car chargers I saw for this phone were 3 or 4 times the cost of this one.

Premium Car Charger w/ Extra USB Charging Port for Motorola Triumph (Black)

Premium Car Charger w/ Extra USB Charging Port for Motorola Triumph
  • Advanced Green LED indicator
  • Extra USB charging port
  • Comfortable Hand-grip Design
  • Smart IC chip technology included to avoid overcharging
  • Includes OrionGadgets accessories pouch

I always hesitate to review a product that I have for less then month but this one appears to be a well built and does the job. I have not had any ocassion to use the extra USB charging port so I cannot comment on that. I hope it works but have found with other items such as dual chargers that come with a little fuse inside they often cannot take the power required to charge two items such as a GPS and cell. This one does not have a fuse as far as I can see so I am wondering what would happen. However, I purchased it for one purpose and its doing that quite well

Universal Battery Charger

Universal Battery ChargerI spend a lot of time on the road, and I don't have space or desire to carry a bunch of various chargers/adapters. I am really glad I found this charger by RPG since it really is universal. It has a wall adapter and a car adapter. Finally, a universal charger that really is universal. I charged my camera's battery and my iPhone 4s, both in car and at the hotel. They charged up quickly which is important to me. And I really like the display option that shows you where the charging's at. So if you have just a few minutes to charge your phone, you know exactly how far you got. It happened to me at the airport before the flight, and the option was really useful.

Xtrememac Incharge Duo Plus for iPad/iPhone/iPod (2492)

Xtrememac Incharge Duo Plus for iPad/iPhone/iPodThe product description for this item on Amazon says "charges & Syncs 2 Devices Simultaneously". This is not true. The product has no port to connect it to your computer to allow the devices to sync as the description clearly states that it does. It is completely useless except to charge your devices. You will still have to use another base when you wish to sync your devices. Not worth the money at all.

This product works really well. I can charge my Ipad 3 and Iphone 4s in a small space. It charges both very quickly. It's secure on my side table and does not fall over if I knock it. I am very happy with this product.

Heavy Duty Weather Proof Bike Mount Holder Hard Case for Samsung GALAXY S2 / SII I9100, Galaxy S II

Heavy Duty Weather Proof Bike Mount Holder Hard Case for Samsung GALAXY S2 / SII I9100, Galaxy S II SGH-i777I was excited when I purchased this so that I could use the gps functions on my galaxy SII while bicycling. When it arrived, I was very disappointed. It was very hard to shut the case on the phone, and once shut there were gaps on the sides which would allow water and dust to enter. Also, the power button was held down the entire time causing the phone to cycle on and off.

Bought this as a gift and double checked the cell phone model prior to buying. Installation was simple, but when the user went to close the top cover, the device started pushing buttons on the cell phone. My friend tried to put it on and in every which way and finally came to me and told me that the phone just wouldn't fit properly in the case. Waiting to return product.

It arrived and I found that it does not fit, not even close. You can't make it fit without breaking your phone or trimming the rubber insert which I have not tried yet, nor will I. I believe what they did here is purchased some low cost inserts that were probably stamped out in China in the mold for the old Galaxy S I judging on the size of it. Rather than create a new mold that would fit they just changed the label on the old one so it says Galaxy S II.

It's easy and quick to remove and add the phone from the case. My only complaint is that there is no way to connect my headphones.

IOTA Engineering Converter and Charger

IOTA Engineering Converter and ChargerIota products are now very LOW quality China cheap import chargers. My company has 70+ trucks using these Iota converter. After 2 weeks of being put into service the Iota converters started failing.

They are being replaced under warranty, but it is costing my company over $500.00 per truck to replace that Iota will not pay. Yesterday I learn that the replacement units are now failing as well. Iota has lots of problems, stay away!!!

I was looking for an RV converter that was also good as a charger, and this one looked like the price/performance winner. It's a modern switching power supply with a small footprint, and on command it can operate at a high enough voltage to rapidly bulk charge your properly sized flooded-cell lead-acid deep cycle battery (the dual-voltage key to accomplish this is included with the converter, taped to the cooling fan).

Temperature compensation for charge voltage is not available, and I found the use of a square-key bolt for the battery cables perplexing and irritating. I would have much preferred the more common hex-key bolt.

Combined with an inexpensive IOTA IQ4 charge controller, the DLS-55 becomes an automatic 3 stage charger with equalization every 7 days. I liked this as a cheaper, modular solution for my battery maintenance needs. If I am not happy with the IQ4, I can easily replace it with a more expensive charge controller and use it with the DLS-55.

Buy IOTA Engineering Converter and Charger Now

I purchased an IOTA charger/converter for my personal travel trailer. I have a RV repair business and I have installed quite a few IOTA charger/converters and have never had a failure. Unfortunately, the unit I installed in my own trailer failed sending too much voltage to the batteries thus ruining a new set of batteries. I was really worried that I would have a hard time collecting for the batteries, however IOTA not only promptly shipped a new unit but upon being furnished the invoice for the batteries promptly reimbursed me for the cost of the batteries. They make a good product and stand behind what they sell I highly recommend IOTA.

Except for mounting holes everything was the same so no problems. A cordless drill and a phillips bit fixed that.

SiriusXM SXi1 Lynx Wi-Fi Enabled Portable Radio Kit

SiriusXM SXi1 Lynx Wi-Fi Enabled Portable Radio Kit
  • Listen to SiriusXM Internet Radio anywhere there's Wi-Fi Or enjoy the coast to coast coverage of Satellite Radio using accessory home and vehicle docking kits
  • Enjoy new SiriusXM Xtra Channels-20+ channels of additional music, sports, entertainment and SiriusXM Latino, a collection of 12 Spanish language channels
  • Pause, rewind and replay what you're listening to on live SiriusXM Satellite and Internet Radio, using the Replay feature
  • Easily access every powerful, flexible feature using the high-definition, touch-screen display
  • Using the new Spectrum Tuning mode, you can quickly tune to any channel

Update to original. After working with a very nice person at Sirius I am beginning to like the unit. They have fixed most of the software bugs and it is very dependable. Boot up is much faster and only takes about 30 seconds at most to here music. I wish there was a way to keep the power running while you are stopping and starting, that way it would work like a real radio.

My faith has been restored in Sirius, mainly from the person who has been working with me. Great customer service.

First the Good. It is small and can fit in your pocket

The battery seems good and plays for hours

Screen is nice and easy to read and use

Like the ability to store favorite stations.

Like storing your songs on it also so you can use it as a MP3 player.

Now the bad

The only way you can listen to Live stations is either

A have it docked in your car or home

B Through your home network but then only through the speakers of the Lynx or through headphones.

Having to use the dock is somewhat annoying.

I bought a car kit for $69.00 which is a jip for what you get.

the car kit comes with a antenna (Which if you have an old system your antenna will work with this which was nice seeing I didn't have to run it through my car again.

A power DC cord for a cigarette lighter. The plugin to the car kit is completely different than on the base of the unit which doesn't make any sense.

I have a Taurus with the sync system and this radio will not work with it at. Bluetooth, Nope, USB line in Nada, doesn't even charge the unit for whatever reason. I am hoping that there will be a software update to correct this in the future.

The vent clips are average at best. I like the suction cup window mount on my old star-mate much better. If you touch the unit the wrong way the clips fall off and it drops to the floor.

The option tape or screw mount is useless seeing that you have to install it with 4 screws to the back of the unit. so if you want to move it from one car to another you have to disassemble the thing which is pointless. It would have been nice to get another mount and then transfer from one car to another rather than buying another $69 car kit.

I now jut sit it on the console of each car that I have and run the music stream through my line in Aux port on my radios. Thank god I have it. Using a cassette adapter is terrible sound.

I decided to not get a home kit and I paid the extra money for Internet access through my wireless network. I have an I PAD and their app works great going through my home stereo system. I also had an star-mate boombox which will work with this lynx through the Aux port. The downside is the Bluetooth range. It sucks. Maybe 10 feet at best. My I pad, I phone, and Kindle fire all work on my backyard porch of my home but the Lynx loses the signal long before I get to my Kitchen. Not sure why they lowered the signal strength of Bluetooth.

It takes at least 2-3 minutes to boot the unit up so if you are making start and stops during the day you spend a lot of time with dead signals. They need the ability to leave the power on when you turn your car off or if you can set your power plug to on always.

About half the time it doesn't boot up properly and it just sits there with the Sirius screen. You have to open it up, pull the battery and restart it which is a pain. Again I am hoping for a software solution in the future.

In order to get your own music on the lynx the easiest way is to open up WMP and it will recognize the unit and you can sync it. The downside is for play lists it uses MU4 playlist which is not supported by WMP, only apple so you have to then go to I tunes and save your playlist on your desktop and then copy it the lynx. What a pain. Why can't these technology companies get along.

Bottom line I am going to keep the unit because I am committed but I really like my old star mate better.

The old rule holds true on this unit. Never buy the first new product until they work all the bugs out. If you are not tech savvy you will be frustrated with this unit.

Buy SiriusXM SXi1 Lynx Wi-Fi Enabled Portable Radio Kit Now

I bought a SiriusXM Lynx radio right when it came out. It sounded like a device that would finally be everything I had hoped from satellite radio. While this is a very good radio, it has several shortcomings that just leave you scratching your head.

THE GOOD:

The screen. Text is crisp and clear. The menus are easy to read. Buttons are large enough to press easily.

The device gets all channels that SiriusXM has to offer on both satellite and internet.

The last firmware update included a basic web browser.

It varies depending on your mode, but a DVR of some sort is available on both satellite and internet modes.

THE CONFUSING AND BAD:

The differences between satellite mode and internet mode are downright confusing. Your presets are shared between satellite mode and internet mode. However, SiriusXM sometimes has different channel numbers. Example: during the holiday season, Christmas music is found on the "Holly" channel. On satellite, that's channel 17. On internet, that's channel 756. I need two presets for one channel. It works, it's just confusing.

The device is capable of recording channels and has DVR functionality. But only in satellite mode. And you can't set the time to record. That's fine for recording music channels. I don't care if it records some music for me at 2pm or 2am. But say I want to record Opie & Anthony's morning show each day so I can listen later on? I can't do that. However, SiriusXM offers a lot of programs on demand in internet mode. So while I can't record the show myself, I can stream it later. It works, it's just confusing.

Although system updates have made it better, the device is downright sluggish at times. It reminds me of an old Windows computer. After using it long enough, it just needs to be formatted and reset. I've had to do that twice. Granted all I'm really losing are my presets so it's not a terrible loss. But at the same time, there's no reason I should have to do this on a radio.

I own the home dock. When the device is docked, I can listen to both satellite and internet streams. The radio communicates with the dock through Bluetooth. From there, I have a standard 3.5mm speaker cable plugged into a stereo. There have been a couple times that the Bluetooth just doesn't work. A reboot of the device later, it'll start working again. Confusing to most users who wouldn't understand why their music isn't working.

SiriusXM mentions that you can take the radio with you while it wireless communicates with the dock. "Sit on the couch and control your radio!" Yes this works. But only in internet mode. The radio must be docked for satellite mode.

Internet streaming allows you to replay any of the last 5 hours of most channels. This feature works very well and it's great to have. There's also a feature called TuneStart. We've all turned to a radio channel only to hear the end of a song we like. The Lynx will use that buffer and always start songs at the beginning. The bad side is this is a lot like Pandora or Spotify. You can only skip so many times an hour. So if you turn on a channel, rewind to 5 hours ago, and think you can skip over songs you don't like...think again. You only get so many skips per hour. A great feature that falls short.

Internet streaming costs an additional fee on top of your satellite radio subscription. To get the best of this radio, you must be subscribed to both.

When listening to music in satellite mode, you get a background picture for the channel but no album art. When listening in internet mode, you get album art, but no background picture. It's odd that the internet mode doesn't include both.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

In spite of its split identity crisis between satellite and internet mode, I like this radio. But I think its appeal is very limited. I wouldn't recommend this radio for somebody to put in their car. The wifi/internet features wouldn't be available and without that, the feature set is limited. You'd be better spending your money on a simpler radio.

The only audience that would get the full benefit out of this radio is a SiriusXM subscriber who plans to put this radio in the home dock on a desk or shelf where wifi is available. It can be confusing at times to navigate back and forth between satellite and internet mode. I wouldn't give this to somebody that isn't already experienced with electronics in general like my Mom. "Oh Mom, you're in internet mode where the channel you want is 756, not 17 which is satellite mode." She'd look back at me completely confused.

If you're able to look past all the odd issues and understand its quirks, it's not a bad radio. If you're paying for both satellite and internet, you get *every* channel that SiriusXM offers. I don't know of any other radios on the market at this time (December 2012) that can say that.

Read Best Reviews of SiriusXM SXi1 Lynx Wi-Fi Enabled Portable Radio Kit Here

I upgraded to the Lynx after my Stiletto 10 finally died. The device itself is nice, and it has some pretty cool features. I particularly like how it will attempt to start at the beginning of the song when you change to a new station. Of course one of the other perks is that it is one of the few radios that can get the extra channels (i.e. Tiesto's Club Life; might I add that I'm a bit annoyed with feeling forced into upgrading to access new content). The UI is also nicely done, but it feels a bit laggy at times. I find it hard to change stations while driving, and I'm often hitting the same button repeatedly because it can take a few seconds to respond.

My biggest complaint which may be more an issue with XM vs Sirius rather than the radio itself is that the sound quality is borderline unbearable. It sounds like a 32k internet stream. Percussion and "s" sounds in songs sound muffled and distorted. It's frustrating to say the least when you pay this kind of cash in addition to the monthly access charges. I'm hoping I can just ignore it since Sirius has seemingly stopped creating new radios. Speaking of which Sirius tried to sell me a USED (and quite dated) Stiletto 2 for $160ish, which is a complete ripoff but still tempting with the prospect of better sound quality. Maybe I'm too critical (my fiancee could not tell a difference), but try listening to a CD and then turn this bad boy on...

At the end of the day, if you're looking to upgrade this seems to be the best option in terms of being the latest and greatest. If you're a previous Sirius subscriber start listening to crap quality internet radio to prepare your ears for the disappointment they face.

Want SiriusXM SXi1 Lynx Wi-Fi Enabled Portable Radio Kit Discount?

I ordered two units, one for my wife and one for my car. The first unit I opened was dead on arrival. It simply would not boot up. I returned it to Amazon. I used my wifes unit to try to install and it skips or cuts out even though there is a strong signal. It happens every 30 seconds or so, so if you are listening to jokes you miss the punch line. If you are listening to music it is simply very maddening! A major problem is that with XM or Sirius there is a charge every time you have them initialize a new radio even if the reason is because of a defective product. In my case my subscription is an annual one so it is $15 every time you switch radios.

My wife has a lifetime subscription. The problem there is that you can only change radios 3 times and each swap cost $75.00. After the third switch if the hardware fails your lifetime account is expired as you cannot switch to a fourth device [a gotcha I wasn't aware of when I paid the lifetime

charge as I would not have considered that policy 'lifetime'...]

Now I am past the 30-day point on one radio and both car installation kits. The other radio has been returned once and I am not sure Amazon will let me return it since I already returned the original unit. In other words I am out about $600 for the two units.

It is difficult for me to believe that two of the three units don't work, and I am reluctant to spend another $15 in XM fees to attempt to install the third unit. Hopefully, the manufacturer will see this review and contact me to make things right. If they do I will edit this post to let you know the problem was fixed.

As it stands now, I cannot recommend this unit to anyone!

Save 48% Off

Let's start with the unit is retailing for $150 now, and I found a store that had a $50 rebate so it is $100 afterwards.

I did some research, especially reading on here, so I wanted to clear some things up with a recent purchase of the unit. (Late Dec. 2012)

1: It does take a while to boot-up "out of the box." Once you get to install the updates, it doesn't take that long at all. To do the updates, you just need a WiFi connection. Relax, you don't need to change your subscription to do the updates.

2: Battery life is pretty dang good. I'd have thought it'd die quickly. I have had it, between the car and the apartment, a few days before it finally died at work.

3: I have no idea what the overseas customer support has to do with the device. I called and it was up and running within 10 minutes while driving down the highway.

4: This unit is standalone, you have to purchase a home or vehicle dock to use the satellite option. Otherwise, with WiFi you can use it if you have the internet radio subscription.

I added the internet radio to test it out, and I'm VERY happy with the option. I'm streaming XM via my Android Phone, which you can do with the internet radio subscription, and it's working great!! The desktop version is inconsistent and was jumping back every 20 minutes. Weird, but the Lynx has no issues with WiFi play.

It's not hard to figure out how the two modes work; even the instructions explain it with pictures. Satellite = docking station, Internet = WiFi.

5: I'm not sure how the DVR feature works, other than it randomly records a minute or two of certain station. It's nice, but I'm use to not having that so it's fairly new to me.

6: The unit DOES have a built in speaker. This isn't a Bose speaker, but it does a great job considering.

I upgraded from a SkyFi2 and this is LIGHT YEARS ahead. Only feature I am missing is having the unit alert me when a preselected artist is playing. Other than that, I love this lil guy! It was a xmas gift, bought from a retail store, and I got the vehicle dock as well.

Not knowing how to use all the features is a lil intimidating, but I did read through the instructions and it's not very hard to use. If you are a longtime subscriber like myself you will LOVE this device. I just need to not let me dad play with it or he'll want one.

DEWALT DWST08203 Tough System Case, Large

DEWALT DWST08203 Tough System Case, LargeI bought the large case about two weeks ago. Intended use was to store and transport my 35 lb. pipe-threading machine. It fit inside nice and secure. Sent it out to the job site with my son in the back of my truck bed. When it came back to the shop I unloaded the case and then noticed that a small triangle tab on the bottom of the case had snapped off. Seemed to be air bubbles in the plastic that must be causing weakness. No big deal I thought. Next day when the case came back from the job site I saw that one of the side handles had broken off as well. The tabs that the metal hinge pin secures to is not strong enough. The structural foam is not up to the job. DeWalt needs these cases to be much tougher than this. To bad. I hoped for better quality from DeWalt. Before this happened I also bought another large case and six small cases. I was planning on purchasing two of the extra large cases when they became available. I guess I'll wait to see how the other cases will hold up over the next few weeks.

I end up hauling my tools all over the place; my brother in law's farm, my parents cabin in the wilderness etc. I have now purchased several tough system tool boxes. They are tough enough to throw into the back of my truck, easy to stack together when space is at a premium and water proof enough to leave outside. Perfect for what i need. they are not cheap but worth it for me

Buy DEWALT DWST08203 Tough System Case, Large Now

I am in the Military and have seen a lot of storage and tool boxes. This by far is the best i have ever seen. I have dropped them. They have gotten rained on. They have been sat on. I have even used them as sawhorses. At no time they have failed me. I hope to buy another complete set.

The storage inside the small one is perfect for everyday items like a impact and sockets and whatever nuts and bolts you might need. I got thin strips of Velcro and placed on the bottom of the tray boxes that come inside the main box. this prevents them from moving if you have one or two out and spilling. I took 4 of them out to make room for my dewalt impact.

The medium is perfect for your hand tools and sanders. The saw blade and drill bit holder made in to the box keeps everything right where it needs to be when you need it.

The large one fits both my sazall and my C-saw with room for other tools.

The Cart with its rail support is perfect for loading and unloading in a truck. When the cart arrived, it was open box and used with nothing to attached or screw in.

Cons, don't put as much weight as it says it can hold. it might hold that much but it becomes too hard to move in and out of your truck.

I purchased 2 of the X large Tough System cases. They fail

Dewalt advertises that they are built to IP65

"A two-digit number established by the International Electro Technical Commission, is used to provide an Ingress Protection rating to a piece of electronic equipment or to an enclosure for electronic equipment."

Example: IP65 (NEMA 4)

The two digits represent different forms of environmental influence:

* The first digit represents protection against ingress of solid objects.

* The second digit represents protection against ingress of liquids.

6 Totally protected against dust ingress.

5 Protected against low pressure water jets from any direction. Limited ingress permitted.

I put a flashlight inside the case and closed and locked the lid. Light projected several places around the seal. A lot of light. Next test. Low pressure garden hose (less than 33 psi) introduced water into the case. I planned to keep tools in them in the back of my pickup.

The pressure release is a joke. It won't seal. Driving over the pass in the snow introduced snow into the cases, Starting at 600 ft above sea level I closed the cases, at 4000 ft above sea level I opened the valve, should have been a release of pressure. Nothing. Just snow in the case.

Major fail.

O M G, this is the coolest little thing. It works just fine, picks up the sounds very nicely on my fm station. Very good sound quality. It plays the best on my fm 88.1 station and that works fine for me. Under $10., go figure. Every once in a while, it picks up a little static, I change it's position, and I am good to go. I don't drive a lot. I use it to go to and from work which is about 3 miles, I also use it when I am driving around running errands. I am very pleased with it. I do recommend it. I purchased this item after considerable research and I decided to "invest :)" in it because it had the features I wanted and the price was ridiculously low. It will work with ANY "source" that has, or can be adapted to, an 1/8" stereo plug. The fact that it can operate on batteries allows it to be used almost anywhere and, of course, it can be used in a vehicle using the supplied car adapter. The best feature is that it can transmit to ANY available frequency in the FM band. (A similar product that I own is limited to 8 possible frequencies.) I am extremely happy with my purchase and I can recommend the product without reservation.

Wouxun KG-UVD1P Dual Band U/V 136-174/400-480MHz Two-way Handheld Transceiver

Wouxun KG-UVD1P Dual Band U/V 136-174/400-480MHz Two-way Handheld Transceiver
  • Dual Band - Dual Frequency - Dual Display - Dual Standby
  • VHF&UHF, UHF&UHF or VHF&VHF working modes
  • Frequency Range: 136-174MHz & 400-480MHz
  • Work Mode: U-V , V-U , V-V , U-U Can Be Set Freely
  • Band Can Be Set Freely on The Same Channel

I know buying Chinese electronics is a roll of the dice... That said, I only seriously considered this unit after reading a positive review in QST magazine and after doing some further research. Several other consumer reviews said essentially the same thing: that it is a pretty good HT for the money. These days, even some of the Japanese "big names" are using Chinese components. So I decided to order one for myself. After purchasing this HT and using it heavily for two months I have to say I was very impressed with the audio quality, the sensitivity of the receiver, the features and also the durability. Furthermore, the cost of accessories is unbelievably low. That is an area where you will save a ton of money. On the downside, the manual is virtually useless because the English (Chinglish) is so bad and that it makes programming without a PC a bit of a chore (but not impossible). A bit of advice: Buy yourself the programming cable. For $15 it is totally worth it and makes programming a breeze. Lastly, I did have one problem with the unit just last week. The transmit LED indicator went out. I contacted my vendor (DuplexCom of Ohio) who sold it to me and they had a brand new replacement unit to me in just four business days (door to door). Which leads to my final point: Choose a vendor who has good customer service like DuplexCom because you will not get much help from China! The product support is all up to your vendor so choose your vendor wisely. Also, your warranty is only 3 months. But in my case it worked out fine. The warranty covered everything except the shipping back to Ohio and I have a brand new unit which I am happy with. I have no regrets and am seriously considering ordering Wouxun's mobile transceiver that will be coming out in February. I think this radio is a steal.

Very nice, good signal reports, easy to use but programming from the HT keyboard is a bit laborious. The programming features are very flexible but that means you have to input many values for each channel. Software to program the HT from your PC is available for a free download from Wouxun. I found the correct driver for this radio, its usb_Vista09.exe. Even though it does not say Windows 7, it does work. Make sure the programming cable is FULLY inserted. Very nice HT for the money.

I purchased one of these from another vendor for about $130 shipped. I have used it for several months, including the collar mic, surveillance kits, multiple antennas, both as an amateur radio operator and in public safety. It works fine with good audio quality, but there are a few issues:

The radio's scan feature is crippled. If the radio is in scan, and you press the button to turn on the backlight, it stops scanning. If you press the button to turn on the LED, it stops scanning. If you try to lock the keypad, it stops scanning. If you want to change which channels are included in the scan, you have to reprogram it from a computer. You can't even use the dual VFO feature while in scan mode even though the second channel is still shown on the screen, it is never checked.

The radio itself has developed a problem. Under certain circumstances which aren't entirely clear, it will occasionally completely reset itself. I suspect this is due to a power connection issue inside the radio, but for something this cheap I'm not surprised. I'm probably going to replace it and use the broken one as a base station radio.

The belt clip, where it connects to the battery, is too tight. It takes serious effort to remove the belt clip. Which would be fine, except that it's also weak. The piece that actually fits in to the battery has broken on me, necessitating a replacement. In fact, all of the plastic pieces here are of significantly poorer quality than what you would get with, say, a Motorola.

I have used the longer antenna. It's too long to use in the field, but as a base antenna it works fine and does improve quality. While we're talking about antennas, on my original antenna the plastic piece has chipped, resulting in the actual antenna coming out of it at an angle. It still works, but yet another example of poor materials. The replacement antenna, the end cap fell off and got lost, so I had to cover it with gaffer's tape.

The surveillance earpiece works fine. The surveillance microphone does not. I am told that it results in a 'muffled' sound which is barely readable. The collar mic works fine.

that its able to hit and turn on any repeater at 25 to 30 miles away!

im think on buying a second one!

one thing that i loved from this little guy is that the radio allow u to manually enter the alpha tags!

Jabra DRIVE Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone - Retail Packaging - Black

Jabra DRIVE Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone - Retail Packaging - BlackI got the Jabra Drive for my wife's car and since she has zero tolerance for anything that takes more than 30 seconds to learn how to use, I specifically chose this model based on it being marketed as simple to use. In that regard, it does live up to it's billing. However ...

The marketing collateral says "...it will connect automatically whenever you get into the car" and this is just not true. Once I read the actual user guide, which by the way has to be downloaded from the Jabra site it makes it pretty clear how it actually works. What the Jabra Drive will do is go into "Sleep mode" when the phones it is connected to go out of Bluetooth range (~50 feet). Then if one of the phones comes back into range within 10 minutes it will automatically connect and go back into "Standby mode" and you are good to make and receive calls. Otherwise, the Jabra Drive will automatically shut off to save battery life. To reconnect, you have to slide the itty-bitty on-off switch to off and then back on again, at which point it will confirm you are connected by saying so.

So the point is that "...it will connect automatically whenever you get into the car" only applies if you get back into the car within 10 minutes from when you left. Good to know ...

That all said; it will connect to two phones simultaneously which is a pretty handy feature in that both my wife and daughter can use the unit together or separately without me needing to reconfigure anything, which is a blessing. Also, pairing was very easy probably the easiest I've experienced with all the various Bluetooth products I've used.

So my recommendation to anyone looking to purchase the Jabra Drive is to understand the caveat regarding Sleep mode and as long as that's not a show stopper for you the product pretty much works as advertised.

Note to Jabra: I suggest once the device goes into sleep mode it could be "awakened" by pressing the "Answer/end" button instead which would be much SIMPLER for the user instead of toggling the itty-bitty on-off switch. Just sayin' ...

The thing about a bluetooth speakerphone or earpiece is that it works best when you actually have it with you. Now, that sounds obvious, and it is, but it's funny how often I'm surprised by how true it is. You see, I have a pretty nice Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth Earpiece (Black, Retail Packaging) but have gotten out of the habit of using it because it's yet one more piece of technology I need to bring along. Plus, I don't particularly like the whole "bluetooth earpiece in the ear all the time" fashion that is supposed to, I suppose, suggest how so very important you are that you have to have something in your ear every second, like you're a communications officer for Starfleet.

I also have a Garmin nüvi 2360LMT 4.3-Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator with US Canada Mexico Lifetime Traffic & Map Updates, which has a really great bluetooth speakerphone built in. Very easy to make calls using voice activation. The sound quality is great. But, I don't like to bring that everywhere I go, especially when I'm going to or from well known locations. I don't want people to steal it, or break into my car looking for it. So, my primitive security measure is to not bring it when I won't need it.

However, even when I know where I am and where I'm going, I still will get calls while I'm out and about. It is illegal here in California to talk on a cell phone while driving. And it's often far too inconvenient to pull over to the side of the road just to answer a couple of questions, or catch up with a friend. Which has meant, in the recent past, that I flout the law at times by talking on my cell phone, all the while hoping that a cop doesn't see me, and all the while wishing that I had brought by earpiece or gps.

That's why I like this Jabra so much. It does one thing and it does it well. Pairing it with a phone couldn't be easier, even older phones that don't usually have any bells or whistles. As long as they have bluetooth, they connect with ease. Two can connect at once.

The sound is loud and fairly good, though my gps is a bit more clear. The best thing, I think, is that this is fairly small, about the size of a garage door opener. It matches that shape too, so is entirely unobtrusive hanging on my driver's side visor.

Easy to use, unobtrusive, good sound quality, good battery life. All these things combined mean that this is the bluetooth speakerphone that actually gets used because it's the one that always stays in the car.

Though, I've also learned it serves a handy purpose beyond just staying in the car. It also makes for a good speakerphone in general, as it is much louder than the one on my cell phone.

So, it works and it is highly convenient.

That's exactly what I need.

I'm not a fan of the bluetooth sets that you stick in your ear so the idea of reviewing a speakerphone version was actually right up my alley. I seem to get most of my phone calls when I'm in my car, so this scenario worked our well for me for the most part.

Here are the pros and cons of my experience:

The Good: Easy to use, easy to set up. I'm slowly getting more savvy with electronics but I'm still pretty much a dim bulb as far as set up and everything goes. This didn't really come with any instructions but then they didn't really need to for the most part. My phone connected rather quickly to the Jabra, which was good, and I was soon on my way to making many, many phone calls. I liked that I could clip it to my visor and let it do its thing up there. Also nice was that I could use it to listen to music that I had downloaded to my phone. The battery charge lasts long enough for my purposes and I liked that you could easily replace the cord if you lost/forgot the one that came with the speakerphone. I hate it when I get things with cords that can only be replaced by the company, so this was a nice touch. I also liked that the phone's volume was pretty loud since I sometimes have trouble hearing things as well as others might. I still had to occasionally ask someone to repeat themselves, but that's more my issue than the speakerphone's.

The Bad and Inbetween: While I liked that I could clip it to my visor, I found that unless I wanted to put myself at risk of getting it stolen I had to either take it down after each car ride or flip it around to where the speaker part was hidden along the ceiling. This isn't a dealbreaker for me but it just got a little irritating after a while. For a speaker of this size the quality was decent. Music-wise you'd be better off with some of the other options out there (radio, speakers that hook up to your mp3 player, mp3 radio transmitters, etc), but as far as phone call quality went it was better than my phone's speakerphone ability. (My phone is a LG Envy Touch, so that might not be saying much.)

My biggest gripe was that you really needed to have the mic close to your mouth in order for the other person to really hear what you're saying and you'll need to turn off your radio and anything else that might distort the sound. That might sound like a no-brainer, but I found that my car's AC system was (at full and semi-full blast) just slightly too loud and the mic picked it up. I also found that people were having a little trouble hearing people sitting nearby, so if you're hoping to have conference calls with this you'll probably want to make sure that any passengers speak extra loud so they'll be heard. (Although I'm glad to say that a passenger won't have any problems hearing the person on the other end, which is probably what counts in this situation.) This kept me from giving it as high of a rating as I would have otherwise wanted to.

All in all this is a pretty decent unit. For people like me, who don't like the bluetooth earpieces for whatever reason, this will be a nice thing to have.

Bluetooth handsfree has quickly become a very desirable feature on new cars, for the obvious safety and convenience it offers. For those of us without a built-in bluetooth capable head-unit, the visor mounted version is probably one of the best alternatives, as its location on the visor so close to the driver's ears and mouth is nearly ideal.

Pros:

Beautiful and beautifully made. I cannot find another visor mounted model with this much quality and design, and the prices is quite competitive for what you get. It doesn't look like a square garage opene, and the shape isn't overwrought. The metal clip with its high grade plastic functional layouts makes this quite pleasant to behold, and should fit in with the best of car interiors.

Sound: the microphone pick up is fairly clear, and the speaker is quite loud. I wouldn't play music on a speaker like that (see cons), but for phone calls and speech (such as GPS directions), it is quite excellent with emphasis on just the voice sound spectrum.

Longevity: the standby time is really quite long. I haven't really calculated precise numbers, but it has been sitting in my car for almost two months without recharge. It still turns right on. It will hibernate/turn off if left on standby for a while, which probably contributed to the battery life.

Operation: other than the power toggle, which you don't really need to bother with most of the time, everything else (volume, the main button) are all very easy to locate and press, with a good tactile feel. The speaker grille is a giant button in itself, with a discreet, phone handset shaped flashing LED indicator. Pairing and call controls have been nothing but reliable.

Voice prompt: simple things like "Connected" just does wonders in putting out doubts that LEDs never can.

Cons:

A2DP: The headset pairs with A2DP, or bluetooth stereo/media protocol with your phone. The problem is that the speaker is really not made out to play music, and it'll sound pretty tinny and ridiculous. Also A2DP is turned off automatically during a call when Microphone is in use. I wonder if there isn't a way to leave just the call to the Jabra and music to the 3.5mm plug.

Sleep/Hibernate: it will turn off after a while, and so when you enter the car the phone won't automatically pair. It will save the battery and makes sense, but one just has to remember to turn it on if if it doesn't respond with "Connected" as you enter the car. If it's within a few hours it seems to be on standby and it works fine, with automatic pairing happening seamlessly.

I really like this visor headset. Compared to similar products owned by my peers, Jabra Drive's industrial design is almost art. There's little that I can gripe about this, and it worked very well with clear sounds, yet unlike many bluetooth products, also transparently and fairly maintenance free. The long battery life has made that possible, and despite my initial doubts, this has exceeded all my expectations. If you are in the market for a visor mounted bluetooth handsfree, this is definitely worth serious consideration.

For a test, I had my wife set this up. She's not that familiar or comfortable with blue-tooth devices, so I thought doing this would be a good trial. She has a blue tooth capable smart phone, and she had no problem whatsoever connecting it to her phone and using it.

Sound quality is quite good, both for the user of this speakerphone, and for the person on the other end of the call. It fits nicely and securely on the car's sun visor. We found the product quite satisfactory and confidently recommend it.

Stanley BC1509 15 Amp Automatic Battery Charger

Stanley BC1509 15 Amp Automatic Battery ChargerNot too much to review here. It works! It charged my marine battery fast from almost dead in less than 30 minutes. Lightweight, easy to carry, nice long leads and easy to read LED.

This is how a charger should work, why should I have to manually select amperage? I know some people say constant low amps charges better, but that doesn't apply to new automatic smart chargers. They step down the amperage automatically as the battery charges. They also keep it from over charging and boiling the battery. With these new chargers you won't get any more charge from a long 2 amp charge then a quick 15 amp multi stage one. I use it for deep cycle batteries. Just hook up the battery and press charge, that's it, no guess work, no selecting charge speed and amperage. It optimizes everything and is completely automatic. It auto detects the type and condition of the battery, even compensating for the ambient temperature so it doesn't effect charging. It also can recondition old sulfated batteries with some pulse mode. The fan seems quiet enough and shuts off automatically in float mode after unit is cooled down from charging. The unit seems very durable. Back lit LCD screen is convenient. It displays current voltage, amps charging, mode, etc... It also has a alternator check I have never used, and a quick charge mode to start a dead car battery I have never used. When I charged my deep cycles on my old charger my trolling motor usually drained my deep cycle battery to almost 50% by the end of the day. With the new charger and the same amount of use it's only drained 30% when I get home. My batteries seem to get a better charge with this charger, and lasting longer. Another review said "wires get warm". I charge batteries on the full 15 amps for hours and don't notice the wires or battery being noticeably warm at all, maybe a little above room temperature at most. Nothing you would even notice unless you were specifically looking for it. Overall, by far the best charger I have ever owned.
