My first cordless electric grease gun was a Lincoln. It was a 14.4 volt ni-cad. It was way better than hand pumping grease. I run heavy equipment, front end loaders and excavators in sometimes frigid temperatures (Denver). I had to have 2 batteries. It was disapointing how quickly the batteries wore down, and how long it took to charge them up. I ruined the gun by running it down til the batteries wouldn't turn it over anymore. Then I got a great deal on a Lincoln 12 volt ni-cad grease gun. I learned not to run it till the batteries were dead. It lasted me a couple of years, but battery life was always a disapointment. Then I got a PowerLuber brand grease gun, again ni-cads and disapointing. It only lasted about a year. This Lincoln 18 volt Li-ion grease gun is fabulous. It is light years ahead of anything I have ever used. It seems to run forever on a charge, and it has undercharge protection, so you won't burn up the motor if you try to hit those last 2 zerks when the battery is too low. It is unbelievable how great it is to be able to see how much battery life you have left at any time, and be able to "top off" the charge before a big greasing event ( no battery memory issues). It is nice to know at a glance how much grease is left in the gun, too. THIS IS THE BEST EVER GREASE GUN!

This a great tire pressure monitoring device. I use it on my motor home and my toad (the veh I tow behind my RV) I know if I have a flat or if the tire gets to hot ( like if the toad's brakes are draging) before any damage is done. Love the unit, easy to program and easy to read.

We did not find the installation of the Tire Minder system to be as easy as advertised for our class C RV, but the customer service was superb. I purchased Tireminder with 6 sensors for my new Class A motorhome. The system was easy to set up and all sensors are within one to two psi accuracy double checked with professional gages. I run 120 psi cold tire pressure on 22.5 inch rims. I did add reinforced valve stem extenders to make the caps more accessible. After several months the system still works fine. I did notice on the Tireminder website that they now recommend you unplug the system from the cigarette lighter when not in use to extend the life of the monitor screen. I purchased the system from Camping World. The company offered free replacement batteries through 2018! This system is a great timesaver and back saver when you get to be an old paw paw like me. I saw other systems where the the sensors did not have replaceable batteries. The tireminder batteries are easily installed and replaceable. I am happy with the system.

I'm very happy with these chargers. I usually listen to my ipod in the car and I was frustrated that it always ran out of battery and then I had to go inside and plug it into the computer. Now I can just leave the ipod in the glovebox and charge it as needed while in the car. When I play the mp3 player through the car stereo at the same time as using the charger it does emit a high-pitched background noise, but the convenience of being able to charge on the go instead of having my ipod constantly running out of battery is well-worth those occasional times when I need to charge and listen simultaneously. This review is in response to some comments regarding wire and fuse size selections for this inverter and others like it.

In response to other review quoting a table from the National Electric Code (NEC). While the table that was posted is correct for 115VAC (household voltage) is does not translate directly to 12VDC (automotive voltage). When dealing with a 12 volt system there is less concern with wires overheating, at least in the way that the NEC considers it, and far more concern with voltage drop. When running wiring a reasonable distance (a couple hundred feet or so) there is little concern with voltage drop with AC power. But when dealing with DC, simply increasing your wiring distance 5-10' can have a drastic effect on voltage drop. That is why this inverter should be wired with, at the very least, #4 wire and really should be installed with #2 or thicker, especially if you need to run wire 15 or 20 feet or more.

The purpose of a fuse in a DC system is to protect the rest of your electrical system in the event of a short. That is why you always want to install your fuse as close to the battery as possible (no more then 3' if you can help it). As far as the amperage goes, there is a really good quick reference chart for automotive wire size that can be found at Tessco's web site here:[Turns out I can't link to an outside page so I'll paste the contents of the table at the bottom]. But to boil it down, you can safely fuse a 12VDC circuit at 150, or 200 amps, or more on #4, #2 or #0 wire.

Now this unit at full load is something like 85% efficient. So if you do the math -1500 Watts / 12 Volts / .85 efficiency = ~147 amps, A 150 AMP FUSE IS REQUIRED. If you take peak power into account you would need to double that to a 300 amp fuse, but because the inverter cannot run at peak power for more then a moment, a slow-blow 150amp fuse may work just fine, or perhaps you could step up a 200amp. I wouldn't go all the way to a 300 amp fuse unless you really found that you needed it and had the inverted is wired in such a way that it could handle that level current (read: installed using very heavy gauge wire). Now if your vehicle is running while your inverter is working the amperage will be a little lower because your dealing with 14.4 VDC rather then 12 volts (watts = volts x amps -oramps = watts / volts). But at the very least, a 150 amp ANL fuse is very good idea and not at all over sized.

Just a FYI on fuses, most car stereos are installed with AGU style fuses, but they only go up to 100 amps.

You will need an ANL style fuse to get one rated at 150 amps or more. See these links for examples:

IOTA Engineering Converter and Charger

Iota products are now very LOW quality China cheap import chargers. My company has 70+ trucks using these Iota converter. After 2 weeks of being put into service the Iota converters started failing.

They are being replaced under warranty, but it is costing my company over $500.00 per truck to replace that Iota will not pay. Yesterday I learn that the replacement units are now failing as well. Iota has lots of problems, stay away!!!

I was looking for an RV converter that was also good as a charger, and this one looked like the price/performance winner. It's a modern switching power supply with a small footprint, and on command it can operate at a high enough voltage to rapidly bulk charge your properly sized flooded-cell lead-acid deep cycle battery (the dual-voltage key to accomplish this is included with the converter, taped to the cooling fan).

Temperature compensation for charge voltage is not available, and I found the use of a square-key bolt for the battery cables perplexing and irritating. I would have much preferred the more common hex-key bolt.

Combined with an inexpensive IOTA IQ4 charge controller, the DLS-55 becomes an automatic 3 stage charger with equalization every 7 days. I liked this as a cheaper, modular solution for my battery maintenance needs. If I am not happy with the IQ4, I can easily replace it with a more expensive charge controller and use it with the DLS-55.

I purchased an IOTA charger/converter for my personal travel trailer. I have a RV repair business and I have installed quite a few IOTA charger/converters and have never had a failure. Unfortunately, the unit I installed in my own trailer failed sending too much voltage to the batteries thus ruining a new set of batteries. I was really worried that I would have a hard time collecting for the batteries, however IOTA not only promptly shipped a new unit but upon being furnished the invoice for the batteries promptly reimbursed me for the cost of the batteries. I bought this item because, at the time, it was advertised as shutting down when the charge was full. I see that this error has now been corrected on Amazon's web page. I wanted to use it to keep the battery on my tractor from discharging and freezing while the tractor was in the barn over the winter. However when I received it, the manual stated that it must be disconnected after full charge is done. If you can live with that, it should be fine. I never actually tried using it, as it didn't meet my requirements. Congrat's to Amazon for correcting the description.

This is a pretty simple trickle charger. It doesn't provide much feedback, other than when it is on and when it is off. I don't think there should be any worry of overcharging, as it was designed to provide a constant "trickle" of power to keep a battery at top charge. I have owned and used this unit for the past year without any problems. If you want more feedback, buy a unit with gauges. If you are just looking to keep your bike (or lawnmower) starting on demand and want to save a few bucks, this unit is very good.

I had a minor snafu (my fault) with it being shipped to the wrong address, but Amazon was amazing about helping me get it resolved and had it out to me just one day after the expected delivery date. So as far rapport goes, top notch.

As for the device itself...it's really, really basic, but it gets the job done. The clamps are smaller than those on your standard jumper cables, which is a boon in my case, because I couldn't fit normal sized cables into the tight area where my terminals are located. It charged faster than I expected and it kept my poor dying battery alive about a month until I could afford a replacement, so it was definitely worth the money in my book. Plus, it's small enough to carry under my seat if I plan to travel long distances and want it there just in case.

Unfortunately, I had to use a heavy duty extension cable with it because I have no exterior outlets, but if you can park even relatively close the cable is plenty long and sturdy to stretch across a car width or so.

As one of the other reviewers stated sometimes after you hook a pair of mc4 cables together they are very difficult to seperate, even with regular household tools i couldnt get them apart with out breaking the connector. Since recieving these unhooking mc4 connections is way easier.

MC4 connectors are not always easy to connect or disconnect without a tool. Contrary to what one might expect, sometimes a pair will not lock. Other times it will lock, but neither hands nor pliers can unlock it.

I had the latter problem and was faced with the choice of keeping the MC4's permanently connected (very undesirable in my case), breaking and replacing one connector, or purchasing this tool. This tool worked.

No instructions are provided, but it seems that whichever problem you have, you will figure out how to get the tool to solve it for you.

I purchased one of these from another vendor for about $130 shipped. I have used it for several months, including the collar mic, surveillance kits, multiple antennas, both as an amateur radio operator and in public safety. It works fine with good audio quality, but there are a few issues:

The radio's scan feature is crippled. If the radio is in scan, and you press the button to turn on the backlight, it stops scanning. If you press the button to turn on the LED, it stops scanning. If you try to lock the keypad, it stops scanning. If you want to change which channels are included in the scan, you have to reprogram it from a computer. You can't even use the dual VFO feature while in scan mode even though the second channel is still shown on the screen, it is never checked.

The radio itself has developed a problem. Under certain circumstances which aren't entirely clear, it will occasionally completely reset itself. I suspect this is due to a power connection issue inside the radio, but for something this cheap I'm not surprised. I'm probably going to replace it and use the broken one as a base station radio.

The belt clip, where it connects to the battery, is too tight. It takes serious effort to remove the belt clip. Which would be fine, except that it's also weak. The piece that actually fits in to the battery has broken on me, necessitating a replacement. In fact, all of the plastic pieces here are of significantly poorer quality than what you would get with, say, a Motorola.

I have used the longer antenna. It's too long to use in the field, but as a base antenna it works fine and does improve quality. While we're talking about antennas, on my original antenna the plastic piece has chipped, resulting in the actual antenna coming out of it at an angle. It still works, but yet another example of poor materials. The replacement antenna, the end cap fell off and got lost, so I had to cover it with gaffer's tape.

The surveillance earpiece works fine. The surveillance microphone does not. I am told that it results in a 'muffled' sound which is barely readable. The collar mic works fine.

The description says it can carry cables, but there is not room for the one cable you need. So, it is bigger than needed just to carry the Nuvi, and too small for any of the Nuvi accesssories. Well made for the money, but either too big or not big enough.

This case seems to have been the best purchase for my 3490. the screen feels very well protected it's a stiff outer with a soft interior and the body actually curves away from the screen so I'm not worried about it getting scratched. There's a flap inside that can separate the Garmin from the charger, though I don't use it I like having just the Garmin in it.

Great concept, but not useable. I live in Houston (granted there are LOTS of FM stations) and the interference from adjacent stations was too much for the little transmitter to handle.

Also, the gain (volume) was not dependable and was usually too low for proper listening levels. Once again, that could have been from interference from adjacent stations.

I talked to their technical support (super nice people) and tried it on two different vehicles. No luck on either vehicle.

They let me return the item for full credit. Very nice people to deal with.

I have just about no problem with that thing, You put it between 2 stations where there is nothing and you get a clear reception. The only problem i had with it is that if i put the volume WAYYYYYYYY high on my mp3 player I get some static, you have to keep it at a certain level (But still very reasonable, Unless you like blowing up your ear drums).

I had problem with other such devices that gave me trouble just getting a signal but this one can send the signal to a distance of easily 2-3 cars away.

Finally, the only real problem i had with it is that the wire eventually broke on me somewhere (After a Year or so) and i ended up losing the "Stereo" leaving me with only Mono, but hey!, it's 5$, so i just bought an other one.

In my opinion, if anyone complains about the quality of this thing, he either lives in a place with 100% Radio stations in use, or is someone who should just spend 200$ on a radio with an Auxiliary plug... Which would cost 195$ more than this just to get a similar result.

I'm happy to say that the replacement works as promised, and can charge 4 USB devices simultaneously. BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE THE POWER TO CHARGE AN iPAD, which requires a special, high-power charger. Although it is physically larger than I expected from the picture, and does NOT have a folding plug, it is quite light, and a great improvement over carrying 4 separate chargers for all my electronics when traveling. I have taken to using it at home, too, because of the convenience. If it were a bit smaller, and had a folding plug, I would give it 5 stars.

This product comes with a removable US electrical plug BUT does not come with the other electrical plugs for non US countries and Kensington will not sell you these plugs. Better to get the IDENTICAL product on Amazon by Lenmar their ACUSB4 AC Travel Adapter which comes with four different electrical plugs and costs less.

An idea long overdue. I got this to take on the road, being fed up with crawling under desks and behind curtains to plug in all my mobile devices for charging in hotel rooms. I found it to be well-designed you can plug it into the top or bottom of an outlet without covering the other side of the outlet, and plug phone, PDA, laptop, etc. into it either going north or south. Why can't all chargers be designed like that? But now I don't need to lug all the chargers! I noticed some other reviews saying the unit didn't have enough power for multiple devices, but I didn't have any problem with that. Fully charged when I went back after a few hours. I plan to start acquiring these for home use and to give as Christmas gifts anyone who plugs in multiple electronic devices every night would find this a huge convenience.

I purchased this for traveling. It does not charge my Blackberry, even when it is the only item plugged in the wall. It does charge my Sony Ericsson phone, but I needed it to charge everything.

The one I received did not come with the multiple plugs. It only has the plug for American outlets. BEWARE false pictures. It does work with the other voltages but still requires an adapter.

It was very easy to install and looks good. It even in includes the heating element to light cigarettes. I purchased this project to power my GPS and it served that purpose.

This mounts on 1 inch handlebars, and fit my Honda perfectly. This is good quality chrome, not some cheap plastic thing with a couple of molecules thick of shiny metal sprayed on. The wiring was able to reach from near the clutch lever on the left all the way down to the battery area. It's supplied with a 10 amp fuse in the disconnect plug. You may or may not be able to run a compressor with that.

Strong points.........

It has a disconnect plug that matches the same plug my compressor and trickle charger uses. So I just installed the one from the compressor and use it for all three devices (won't ever use more than one at a time.)

Besides being able to put the clamp where ever you want, you can also swivel the unit horizontally by using a screw.

Best of all, it looks great.

I keep having to wiggle the thing to make it work which isn't good in a car that bounces around alot. The connection is just not secure enough but its OK if your not moving.
