Works sometimes but not enough times. Think it is because barrel power connector does not fit Acer pwr jack correctly. Caught it acting intermently a few times on trip then Tab Batt drained down gradually.

UPDATE TO REVIEW: After more experience with this charger, I have discovered the barrel connector is not the problem. It is reliable. It is either the charger cannot supply the needed current to both power and charge the Acer A500. Although the Tab battery indicator shows Tab is being powered, it never chargers and final drains existing Tab charge when Tab is powered.

Since the original Acer AC Power Adapter for A500 is infamously too short, I used the extra cord length and barrel connector on this China car charger to double the length of my AC power adapter by splicing Car DC Chargers cord to end of my Acer AC Adapter cord. With more than a week experience, results have been reliable....and great finally having a useable double length AC Adapter without dishing out $30 for an AC replacement adapter.

Worked well for 2 rides with Acer A100 as GPS, during 3rd ride tablet showed that charger switching on/off every second... so I consider charger as dead and waist of money.

A lot of people appear to have had no problems with this product, but they also don't seem to be using it on the new iPhone 4 or 4s, so maybe it just screws up with the newer models.... My only complaint with this product is that when you use the USB cord it causes glitches in your phone, you can't click on anything because when you do it goes to something completely different, or zooms in or out, or something else whacky like that. It's just the USB cable though, as soon as you unplug your phone it goes back to normal with zero glitches. If you plug a normal white Apple USB cable into either the wall unit or car charger it works just fine, no glitches whatsoever. All in all still a decent buy for the price, I would've liked to have a cute matching wall jack and cord for my room, but its ok.

The pink cable was a PAIN to put in my iPhone (iPhone 4) I had to apply a lot of pressure. After I FINALLY got the pink cable in my phone I plugged it in my computer & my computer couldn't recognize my phone! I tried the wall charger with the pink cable and it didn't work, but when I tried the wall charger with the normal white cable (the one that come with my phone) it worked! Bleh, I'm not even going to try the car charger.

I wouldn't recommend.

This small screwdriver comes with a right angle attachment for hard to reach places. Great for annoying little jobs where you never have a short enough screwdriver or a right angle manual tool takes forever to use. The included case keeps everything together. One complaint: the direction switch always seems to get bumped off the desired position. Also, the magnetic socket is so strong that the bits are sometimes difficult to remove. All in all, a good tool for the money.

This very small driver packs a lot of power. I used it to drive 1-1/2" screws into old, dried, very hard wood. It did the job admirably and the torque didn't seem to diminish at all during the job (12 screws). I didn't need the right angle attachment for this job, but I did attach it and play with it a little and I know it will be very handy when I have to drive screws in a tight place. This is probably not a tool a professional construction person would choose, but it's great for home owners and do-it-yourself types.

Have been using for about 6 months. Battery life is incredible. Love the little LED light. I am constantly hitting my finger up against the switch that controls the direction of the rotation. Poor design, it's a pain. I'd say my hands are normal for a 6'0 guy. Also no place to store a bit or two. That would have been simple to design in as well like many drills do today.

This review is in response to some comments regarding wire and fuse size selections for this inverter and others like it.

In response to other review quoting a table from the National Electric Code (NEC). While the table that was posted is correct for 115VAC (household voltage) is does not translate directly to 12VDC (automotive voltage). When dealing with a 12 volt system there is less concern with wires overheating, at least in the way that the NEC considers it, and far more concern with voltage drop. When running wiring a reasonable distance (a couple hundred feet or so) there is little concern with voltage drop with AC power. But when dealing with DC, simply increasing your wiring distance 5-10' can have a drastic effect on voltage drop. That is why this inverter should be wired with, at the very least, #4 wire and really should be installed with #2 or thicker, especially if you need to run wire 15 or 20 feet or more.

The purpose of a fuse in a DC system is to protect the rest of your electrical system in the event of a short. That is why you always want to install your fuse as close to the battery as possible (no more then 3' if you can help it). As far as the amperage goes, there is a really good quick reference chart for automotive wire size that can be found at Tessco's web site here:[Turns out I can't link to an outside page so I'll paste the contents of the table at the bottom]. But to boil it down, you can safely fuse a 12VDC circuit at 150, or 200 amps, or more on #4, #2 or #0 wire.

Now this unit at full load is something like 85% efficient. So if you do the math -1500 Watts / 12 Volts / .85 efficiency = ~147 amps, A 150 AMP FUSE IS REQUIRED. If you take peak power into account you would need to double that to a 300 amp fuse, but because the inverter cannot run at peak power for more then a moment, a slow-blow 150amp fuse may work just fine, or perhaps you could step up a 200amp. I wouldn't go all the way to a 300 amp fuse unless you really found that you needed it and had the inverted is wired in such a way that it could handle that level current (read: installed using very heavy gauge wire). Now if your vehicle is running while your inverter is working the amperage will be a little lower because your dealing with 14.4 VDC rather then 12 volts (watts = volts x amps -oramps = watts / volts). But at the very least, a 150 amp ANL fuse is very good idea and not at all over sized.

Just a FYI on fuses, most car stereos are installed with AGU style fuses, but they only go up to 100 amps.

You will need an ANL style fuse to get one rated at 150 amps or more. See these links for examples:

Despite the great price, I would not recommend this product.

I purchased this pack the same day i purchased my phone so they would arrive together. This pack actually arrived first, which is wonderful, but i noticed immediately that the USB cable included (which is very short mind you, about 3') was bent a bit on the micro side and would not work. I gave the company a two star seller feedback and they contacted me that night to resolve the issue. They told me that they would send me out a new USB cable and that i should look for an e-mail with instructions. They then slipped in that i should reconsider my seller feedback, which i would gladly change if the issue was resolved. As pleasant a surprise as this was, no e-mail or replacement ever came and here i am to this day, almost a month later with a tweaked USB cable that does not function.

I believe it is worth mentioning that the wall charger and car charger work fine.

I received this as a gift and I have to say this is prob the best gift I ever received. I bought a used car a year ago and after I bought it I realized that where they installed the cd player they had to take out the cigarette lighter/car charging station. You wouldn't think you'd need this for so much. I couldn't use my GPS for long trips, if my cell died I had to wait till I got home, and my MP3 player was a big no-njo since it used a lot of battery life. Not much to say. Plugged it in and initially it seemed OK. After a couple of days it quit working. Could wiggle things and get it going again, but something had come loose inside and I didn't feel like fixing the thing. Battery Tender 022-0179 Power Pro Modular Marine Battery Charger

In the past year, I have put four Deltran Battery Tenders into service. They all seem to work just fine, so when my Vector battery charger died, which has been in service in the engine room of my boat for 4 years, I decided to try this Deltran marine charger. Several things attracted me to it. It had no internal fan to burn out (as did the Vector), it was made to be permanently left in a damp environment, unlike the Vector. And, the Deltran is designed to maintain a couple of batteries hooked up in parallel. Since my boat has two batteries configured that way as most small to medium cruisers have, it seemed like a viable solution.

I ordered the unit. While I was waiting for it to be delivered, I went to Deltran's website to read more specifics about the charger and discovered that it can only be used with an accessory mounting device at extra cost. I was not pleased, but my boat is in the water and not under cover. If it rains and my batteries discharge running the bilge pump, the boat could sink. So, I ordered the mounting bracket. Like the charger, the bracket seems well made, if not too large and heavy. The "bracket" is actually designed to handle three of these chargers and delivers the power to the chargers which plug in to it essentially the same way they would plug in to a wall socket or extension cord. Unfortunately, the chargers, according to Deltran, are NOT designed to be directly plugged in to an extension cord.

The mounting bracket comes with some stainless bolts which attach the charger to the bracket, then the whole, heavy mass is supposed to attach to the boat and an extension cord. Unfortunately, there is no room in my boat to attach the bracket, so I plan to simply lay the charger in the bilge when the boat is not under way.

When I tried to bolt the charger to the bracket, one of the pressed-in stainless "nuts" came loose and seized to the bolt. No amount of wrenching on the bolt head with vise grips on the round "nut" would free the parts. I wasn't keen on using a hacksaw to separate the two parts, but after an hour and a half, I gave in and cut the fastener, leaving a few scrape marks on the bracket. Naturally, I couldn't use the same mounting position, so I had to move the charger to one of the remaining two.

I set the assembled unit in the boat, but I am not pleased with the ultimate size and weight of the system. This system must be designed for much larger boats. Mine is a 28.5' cruiser with a 9.5' beam, but this is too big. A stand alone charger with a 110V pigtail and battery clamps would be a better solution.

I mounted this product on my boat and use it to tend my Optima batteries when the boat is in storage. I can walk away with confidence knowing this product is going to do its job!

To the person under me who says it doesn't fit, it fits my Incredible and Rezound. The only difference between the the two device's USB ports is that on the Rezound, you turn standard chargers upside down with the smooth side down and the prongs up. Doesn't take much investigating to figure that out. You must have either been shipped the wrong one or you left a bogus review.

Anyway, mine lasted for a few months then decided to burn out while charging and smell like somebody left their E-brake on while on the highway. Also, the cord winding mechanism broke.

This product does NOT work with the Droid X cell phone. Also, the weight of the Droid X phone is too heavy for the cable that is used to support the phone and hold it in place. I would not recommend this product if you plan to use it with a Droid X.

Retractable Car Charger for Google Nexus S

I use this for my Nexus S, but it is compatible with anything that uses a micro USB port. You will be hard-pressed to find a charger that performs equally as well for this price. Here's why I like it:

-It's quick to charge. While my metrics are purely in my head, this seems to charge faster than others I've owned.

-The cord length is significant. I've never found myself wishing it were longer. I'd guess it to be about 4-5 ft.

-The cord is straight. The ones with a wound cord have always made me feel like I'm battling a very weak monkey for use of my phone.

-The retractable cord makes it easy to pack up. And -probably even more importantly -keeps the cord from becoming a tangled mess. When not in use, it helps to keep everything squared away.

Honestly, for $3, one should be happy enough with "works." But this is one of the best, quickest car chargers I've ever owned. I'm pleasantly surprised and have been using it for months without any problems.

Compact, hassle free and really usefull. Unbeatable for the price! Works fine with any gadget that has a Micro USB port.

Most of the time, I leave negative feedback when I receive a product that doesn't work properly, but I was very impressed with this product wwhile it did work. I really like the compact design and the retractable aspect of the chord. Unfortunately, after about 3 weeks of using the product, it stopped working. The unit still would light up and my phone acted as if it was charging, but the phone wasn't getting a charge. My friend gave me an old mini-USB car charger he didn't need and that one worked fine. I'm guessing I got a faulty unit which is unfortunate, because I did really like the product. For the price though, I'm not super disappointed.

I purchased two of these and was intrigued by the retractable cord and the price. Was pleased with it until I started to using it. Doesn't charge my phone very well; pretty much just holds the charge. The retractable cord is also about 4 inches too short for both my wife and I. It's difficult to talk on the phone while having it plugged in. I wouldn't recommend these but I'm also still using it and haven't bought a new one...so take that for what it's worth.
