UPG D5779 UB1280-F2 Universal Lead Acid Battery

I purchased this battery to replace one that had stopped working in our home alarm system. It was shipped quickly and was a whole lot cheaper than buying it from the security company. When it arrived, I tried to install it and found out the connectors on top didn't fit. I was pretty frustrated and responded to the seller asking for a refund. They responded within hours and explained there are two different types of terminals for this battery. The F1 terminal type which is .187 inches wide, and the F2 which is .250 inches wide. This battery is the F2 version which is the wider version. Since I needed the F1 (.187" wide) they offered to send me terminal adapters (small pieces that slide over the existing terminal and can convert it to the other type of terminal) at NO CHARGE. I agreed that this was an acceptable solution and received the adaptors in 2 business days. I was very impressed at their commitment to make things right and their speed for communicating.

Arrived as promised. Unpacked it. Charged it 24 hrs and installed it without any trouble into my computer's UPS. So cool to have this shipped free by Amazon. And it saved me so much money b/c I didn't have to replace my UPS. Thanks Amazon.

Product arrived exactly a week after ordered via UPS. The shipping material was very professional, using thick box and peanuts with all the caution on the box label for the mail handler. I don't know who the credit should go to, ITL or UPG? ITL is the middle-man, and the shipment came directly from UPG and shipped within one day (according to UPS tracking). The processing between Amazon, ITL and UPG took a week. The product was shipped directly from a local UPG warehouse (locally to where I live), which made the packaging very professional and shipment fast.

The battery does have larger terminals than the older one I had, but no worries for me. I just replaced the existing lugs and crimped on the right size. But, this could be troublesome for others who do not have the right tools, materials, and skills to do this.

The battery appears brand new and fully charged. My alarm LED went away as soon as I replaced it with this battery. I would say, I give credit for ITL for selecting the manufacturer (UPG) directly and not another reseller or distributor that could have shipped me a battery that has been laying on the shelf for years.

This is a great battery, very powerful, I use it as a backup for my home alarm system. The battery arrived in less than a week with free shipping from Amazon, like any new battery, this one was not fully charge (depending on how long has been sitting on the shelf), however it took less than 12 hours for it to be fully charged by my alarm system.

I wasn't sure this was the right charger for my daughter's digital camera/camcorder, but it apparently fits numerous camera brands, and it worked beautifully with ours. Good product and it was a nice surprise to get extras along with the charger.

Incredible buy, actually it was for my Samsung cell phone. For just a few dollars I got a car charger, a flexible rubber case for the phone and a USB PC wire. The USB wire was not for this phone however. Still the car chargers I saw for this phone were 3 or 4 times the cost of this one.

I was so excited to find this charger for such a good price. The bummer is that it only worked for about a month and quit!! I also ordered a wall charger for this same phone and the same scenario. Needless to say it was not worth the effort to try to order again.

Since I refuse to upgrade to a (free) smartphone, due to data charges, I replace broken cell phones with refurbished phones. I purchased this charger for the latest "new to me" phone. The charger came quickly and it works. I did read on another thread that some of these are not UL rated and to NOT leave them plugged in, seems reasonable. Sealed Lead Acid Battery Charger UPG D1724

This is about as simple as a charger can get. An AC plug in transformer with a voltage select switch and color coded alligator clips at the end of the cord. It charged both of my batteries (6 and 12 volt) without any problems and gets only slightly warm to the touch. The charge rate varied between 400 ma to 40 ma (depending on battery condition) and produces pulsating DC.

Arrival of very hot weather seemed to coincide with annoying beeping of my house alarm. Further investigation determined that the battery needed charging.

12V sealed lead-acid batteries of the type used in many house alarms are pretty expensive. Fortunately, they are rechargeable. This charger only costs about 1/4 to 1/3 of the price of a new battery.

I let it charge during a weekend for a total of about 12-16 hours. I don't recommend leaving things like this charging while you're away from home or asleep, just in case.

No more beeping, so it seems to have worked. The charger does NOT have an LED light or other feature to indicate that it is "on" or whether in fact it is "done" charging.

This item should be listed as I have, because it will charge only small batteries, (lawn Tractor, or such items) that have loss their charge over a long period, as is common with lead acid batteries.It will maintain batteries that sit idle over the winter, and recharge small like batteries, if the discharge was do to idle periods. If your battery, "dies" after only a few days replace it, as it more than likely has a bad cell(shorted) and you will ruin these chargers, as they will put out the max they can and eventually "burn" up, do to excess heat.They can be used on large batteries that are in good shape,to "Maintain" the charge. Don't confuse these units for a full size battery charger, they charge at 4-10 AMPS, this unit only puts out Milli amps.

I'm not sure what product the other reviewers are referring to. But my charger did not have any instructions or indicator lights. I'm not even sure the thing works. I bought it to recharge a 12 volt sealed lead acid battery for my alarm system. It never charged the battery. Ok they advertised the battery with F2 terminals, but shipped the smaller F1 terminals. Not a big enough deal to protest but I wanted everyone to know. Also these are batteries are removed from equipment but probably brand new. How to I know? The terminals had marks that they were attached to equipment. They worked ok though.

I bought this product since it advertised as compatible with my 3G iPhone. To my dismay, I took it on a trip and found that it does not work. The only time it would charge is when the 3G iPhone was completely drained... the charger would start charging the iPhone until it was about 10% charged, then the phone would turn itself on and stop charging.

I've tried it in multiple cigarette outlets in different cars with different voltages. All with the same result. I've read that the 3G iPhone no longer supports the firewire pin charging, only USB charging. I wonder if some manufacturers don't know this and just slapped the 3G iPhone label on their old iPod/iPhone chargers. I got a cigarette charger that has a USB port and connects to the USB iPhone cableand it works like a charm. To be safe, you may be better off getting one of those instead of this thing and save yourself some trouble.

Yes, it was delievered in a timly fashion. But the stupid thing died not even a week after it was delievered. I thought it was my car's outlet so i tried plugging it into another car, and same deal.

Stay away, save your self some aggrivation and buy a charger from a more reliable source.

Love it. Easy to set up and wire with normal electrical wiring skills. Works flawlessly. Cable could be a little longer. The price for all 240 volt electric car chargers still too expensive. However, this charger charges up my Chevy Volt in 3-4 hours, while the stock 120 volt charger takes 8-10 hours. Makes a big difference if you, like me, use your car a lot and prefer using electric over the gasoline backup engine. Would recommend.

The kit makes it very easy to install charging station. Outside of this kit, you still needed to bring a 220v line 40A line to the garage. Get a licensed electrician to do this. After this, it took less than 30 minutes to install using this kit.

I'm overall satisfied with my travel charger. I constantly listen to my ipod at work. We run linux boxes so it isn't really an option to plug my ipod mini into my towerso this provides a nice alternative. I also didn't feel like shelling the $20-30 for the official USB charger or a base station.

-the charger seems to screw with the scroll wheel. When my mini is plugged in, the volume will jump up and down like its receiving mixed signals. (menu, pause/play, other buttons seem to work fine) [quick work-around, unplug the charger for 2 seconds, use the wheel, plug it back in].

Overall i think the important parts are that it works and its cheap. If you want something pretty and seamless, look elsewhere.

When I first got this charger and started using it I thought it was great. It did what it was supposed to do. Why the one star then? After about two weeks it just stopped working. It didn't fall or anything. It died about two weeks after I got it. I can't really complain though, after all it cost me 5 bucks.

Note 1: Apple products use their own rules to decide charging speed. A designed-for-Apple charger may be slow to charge non-Apple devices, and vice versa. Full-speed iPad charging requires a larger 2-Amp charger.

Note 2: Blocking other outlets. Seems like small thing, but it can be a hassle. Unplugging hotel room lamps, alarm clocks, etc. to charge your phone? Just say no (or carry an extension cord).

Note 3: Socket fit: It's a little on the loose side. When trying to remove a USB cable, you sometimes pull the whole charger out of the socket instead. Nice travel charger, but less than perfect for everyday use.

I was happy to find an auto charger that was inexpensive, but since I've started using it I've encountered compatibility problems with the iPhone. I noticed a tag on the charger that instructs the user to unplug the device before starting the vehicle. I have been diligent about this procedure, yet this charger displays a non-compatibility message about half the time when I use it. The message seems to appear more frequently when the battery is below 20% charged and less frequently when the phone has more than 50% charge. Unfortunately, this device came with no instructions or troubleshooting information. I can only hope it's not damaging my iPhone.

I was so excited when I read the other reviews about this being a great alternative to buying an expensive charger. It turned out that it is inexpensive but not an alternative! Charger light lit up when plugged in the car but would not even connect to my Iphone. I tried with two phones-no charging at all!

Do not buy! Waste of money.

The first one that I recieved did not work at all. I emailed the seller and was shipped another one at no cost to me. I do appricate that, however the new car charger does not work either. When plugged in the message of this is not compatable with your device appears on my phone. This product is useless to me.

I purchased this reader because I am an avid DIY person. I have another reader (not this type) that was giving me an error when trying to read my 2006 Dodge Mega-cab diesel. I like to be informed before I take my car or truck into the shop. Some time you can get the (CEL) check engine light for the slightest little hiccup. Makes you a little nervous when you are running down the freeway towing a 5th wheel. This little device is very powerful, reads the error and tells you what it is. No books to carry. I have 4 vehicles from a '98 to an '07 and have used this to check codes on 3 of them already including the '07 that had a cylinder 3 misfire upon purchase a month ago. There was a wrong spark plug installed prior to my purchase. If I had taken the car to a garage, I would have paid the purchase price of this code reader for the diagnosis alone. I changed all 4 plugs myself for $26. I recommend every car owner to own a code reader. They are basically plug 'n' play nowadays and will pay for themselves in 1 use. This reader read my ('07 Solstice, '98 F150, '00 Elantra and a Windstar work van of unknown year) codes straight out of the box....Highly recommended!!

I bought the Pocket Scan Plus after having an Equus 3030 Innova. The Pocket Scan Plus is very easy to use and it displays the actual code definition instead of having to look up in a booklet like with the Equus, but it contains lead in the cable. So you have to remember to wash your hands after using it. Also if you have a car like a Toyota Sienna the port on the car will have a little nub that that will get stuck inside of the code reader's plug and there is no way of getting it out without wrestling the thing and using a slotted screwdriver to chisel it out. Then you end up scratching the code reader up and almost breaking you cars OBD port. We called the company and they said that it happens pretty often and that you pretty much have to break it to get it off. The Equus is designed so that it will not get stuck on the car. I am returning this one and buying another Equus. Its fine, just make sure the cars port does not have a little nub or you're going to have a wrestling match.
