Lenmar SSPU2 Auto 2 Port 12V DC Auto Socket Duplicator Plus 2 USB Port

Lenmar SSPU2 Auto 2 Port 12V DC Auto Socket Duplicator Plus 2 USB Port
  • Simultaneously charges and powers up to 4 electronic devices using 2 integrated USB ports and 2 built-in DC car adapter sockets
  • Compact, lightweight design - car adapter plug rotates 180 degrees and locks to fit in virtually any auto console or dashboard area
  • LED power indicator confirms on/off power status
  • Replaceable 10 amp car fuse protects your connected electronic devices from electrical damage
  • 1 Year Warranty

I did quite a bit of reading of the many reviews of this type of product. I wanted a quality unit and I finally selected this one. I really liked the fact that it has a replaceable auto fuse. I felt that if the company went to the expense of adding that feature then it may well be a safe (won't burn up) and dependable device. It fits snugly in the outlet so it will stay put while driving. It folds to take up less room in a glove box when not in use. The indicator light clearly shows that proper contact is made, yet is not distracting. The folding feature gives you some choice on how to ''angle'' the device in the car. Finally it will power and charge an iPad 3. Delivery was quick and packaging was good. I plan on ordering additional ones for other vehicles. I hope this review helps others who are considering an outlet adapter.

I am rating this product 3 stars. My experience with this product was not one of disappointment but from an engineering or design aspect, one where a good product could be a great product, except for one small detail. I would recommend this product to others with one caveat: Before you use the product, unscrew the nose cap (pointed end) off of the plug, add some super glue to the threaded portion and re-attach the nose. Let it cure for a bit before you ever insert it into your car outlet jack. I am an engineer and I notice things from an engineering perspective. This product failed the first time I used it. It is mostly well designed and I love the fact that it is fused to protect your car's electrical system from an overload and I also liked the locking feature in the plug whereby you can lock the angle of the plug in a certain position. All of that works well. The one thing that I would consider a design flaw is the spring pushing the positive electrode outward is way too strong. The threads for the tip are very fine and the spring ( at least in my experience) causes the nose portion to strip out of the threads and in my case, break off the threaded portion, rendering the device useless. Oh, I have ordered another one, but next time I'll make this one modification. I hope the manufacturer takes note of this flaw and redesigns with a less aggressive spring. Then this might be a 4-star product.

Can't really use all of the positions because its flimsy and it won't charge more then 2 of my devices at a time, sometime only one. Save your money

So far, so good...it works like a champ out of the box. I haven't loaded up all 4 ports yet, but it handles the two cigarette-type plugs fine. Nice blue LED lets you know it's working, and I like having the circuit breaker there to protect my devices in case of a surge. The swivel adapter has a lot of intermediate settings the picture doesn't show, so you can position it where you like. I didn't give it 5 stars because it's just a little bulky and I wish the plug was in the middle instead of on the side.

Works perfectly! My auto socket is slightly out of the way, and this socket duplicator even helps extend the the port a little.

RENOGY 100 Watt 100w Monocrystalline Photovoltaic PV Solar Panel Module 12V Battery Charging

RENOGY 100 Watt 100w Monocrystalline Photovoltaic PV Solar Panel Module 12V Battery ChargingThis panel delivers as advertised, the price per watt cannot be beat at this time. It was not clear to me if the panel came with mp4 connectors, it does, amazon should make it clear as it is a feature.

Made in USA best price what more can u say got it checked with my Digital meter and it puts out the juice hooked up to two deep cycle batteries in parallel 12 v and it only gets 4 hrs of Sun a day in Georgia and every week they are topped off ready to go this is the best deal on the web trust me Ive looked everywhere.

I chose a 4 star out of 5 because one corner of the panel frame does not come to a complete 45 degree cut. There is a small gap (about 1/8 of an inch ) on one corner, the other 3 corners are nice and tight with no gaps, Making all 4 corners match perfectly should not have been a problem. I put a small bead of silicone in the gap and I feel that will work just fine. The panel is built strong and there are pre-drilled holes in the frame at about 12inch intervals to help in the securing of the panel. The panel was packaged very nicely with lots of foam batting and heavy cardboard.

Pro:

Lightweight but strong construction/ frame

works as described.

numerous bolting options with holes pre-drilled

Con:

Quality control should have seen the 1 corner that is not exactly square, but I don't expect that to hurt the reliability of the unit.

Would I purchase this item again? Yes.

couldn't believe how fast it got here! these guys should also open a school on how to pack stuff. perfect shape when i opened the box , it had very dense white foam over all of it. hooked it up, works great. off grid living is even better now.haven't had an electric bill for 6 years now. for all you other off griders i stopped using a generator 2 years ago ( for the big stuff, table saw etc ) by installing a 200 amp alternator and a marine battery on my 91 ford ranger.the alternator came from rare electric on amazon and battery from walmart. also bought a 3000 watt invertor from amazon . total under 500$ works great does most chores just idling.

I just purchased a 100 watt panel from this company and frankly i was very surprised in the high quality of the product! Heavy aluminum frame, heavy guage wire coming from the back of the panel...excellent! After installation i found that the amp rating exceded the package expectations! I will be buying more of these...thanks Renogy!

I use the car charger and gave the home charger to my step-daughter who has the same model phone. My husband has the "real" version of the car charger for his phone. What I noticed is that his has a much more secure fit once you put it in. Mine kind of falls out if you move the phone too much but now that CA is a hands-free state, there's really no reason to move it around so much.

There is a very wacky electrical problem with my car. I don't know what caused it yet. I will come back to this review and say whether it was this or not next week after I take it in.

UPDATE Car charger had nothing to do with the electrical problem in my car. The rest of the review still stands.

Progressive Dynamics PD9260CV Inteli-Power 9200 Series 60 Amp Converter/Charger with Built-in Charg

Progressive Dynamics PD9260CV Inteli-Power 9200 Series 60 Amp Converter/Charger with Built-in Charge WizardI will start out with reason why I purchased this one:

My 2006 Magnatec Parallax 500 series converter that was installed in my RV had failed to charge the batteries. I researched and find that its reliability is very poor approximately between 3 to 8 years. Further more, it is a "dumb" charger, because it will keep charging approx 13.5 volts and not shut off very well. It wont desulfate the batteries either. As such your batteries will be boiled over if you don't keep a small load on it. I could not even upgrade this converter because there is nothing out there that can easily swap out converter section. I took off the converter section and drilled out the rivets from the cover and find that there is sticker that says "made in china" on the board and various parts. It is basically very simple non microprocessor controlled charger with two large heat sinks and capacitors.

I wanted smart charger and I researched and found this one Progressive Dynamics Intellipower charger with smart charger wizard computer built in. It had good reputation and and reasonable price so I bit the bullet and bought it along with remote pendant.

Package arrived 5 days after order. When I opened the shipping carton, I found that its just wrapped in a plastic bubble wrap. No retail packaging. It is definitely for OEM installers not retail. What I mean by that is that when the factory ships components (in bulk) to RV manufacturers for installing on RV's before being delivered to customers, they do not include pendants or other hardware items or even put into a nice retail packages. Retail version of this is what you as customers see on store shelves, they include pendant as part of the retail version so keep that in mind when you shop through Amazon and your local RV parts store. In my case, thankfully I had a set of instructions included inside the shipping carton but its minimal at best. Since the new charger had 3 prongs 120V plug at end, that was complete surprise to me since I expected to hardwired charger to 120V circuit just like any other charger.

I removed the guts of the charger converter and threw in the trash and put the metal "shell" of the converter back into the power distribution panel because I need to reuse the DC fuse holder panel back on. I ran new romex wire from the back of power distributor to the front of the RV where the batteries were at. I put in 120VAC outlet for the charger plug to plug in. I observed correct wiring polarity of the new outlet (black wire to short prong hole (brass screw), white wire to wider prong hole (silver screw) and ground to ground terminal). The power is fed from circuit breaker that was used to power the old charger.

I mounted the new charger next to the battery compartment (not inside) with self tapping metal screws into steel plates. I ran 2 foot long #6 cable from battery shut off switch to the positive leg of charger. I ran 2 foot long #6 cable from other leg to the main 30 Amp 12VDC circuit breakers. In other words, I installed it in between the battery cut off switch and the main 12VDC circuit breakers. Finally, I ran a short #6 black cable from negative to the chassis ground since my batteries negative posts are grounded to chassis already. The charger positive and negative DC lugs requires allen wrench (not phillips or slot screws) to secure the cables a testament to thoughtful design of this charger. The charger housing is grounded and I didn't need to run ground cable from the ground lug to chassis because I had three metal mounting screws that mount the charger to steel plate (its part of RV chassis). If you going to mount this on wood, you need to run ground wire from the ground lug to metal chassis for safety reason.

Now, you might be wondering why I didn't just put this new charger in place of old charger, I could do that but for the best and fastest charging efficiency, you want to locate the charger close to the battery as much as possible and keep the battery cables short as possible so that generator does not have to spend more time charging up the batteries when you do camp out without hook ups. 2ndly, its much easier for me to keep the new charger cool and service it if I locate it in storage compartment if need to than if I had it locate it in old spot next to propane furnace which can keep it too warm.

The remote pendant is plugged in to the charger, it looks like a telephone jack but little narrower than standard jack. The wiring length is about 6 feet long much too short for my needs. I will have to take old telephone wire and splice in longer wire in place so that I can mount the remote pendant on the battery monitor panel. I have not done that yet so I can't comment on this one yet.

The new battery charger works well. And it is quite heavy and best of all, its an American made. Here is the instructions: %20english%20manual.pdf

I bought my camper new in 2005 in 2008, I replaced the original WFCO 9855 with another WFCO 9855 A friend in a local RV shop tried to get me to use PD unit, but I stubbornly stuck with the WFCO the WFCO has had a tendency to 'cook' my batteries it may not be the WFCO's fault for two reasons one, I don't check them as often as I should and secondly, I have a long power line from the converter to the battery (about 15 feet) I think it's #6, but it may not be large enough for the converter to correctly interpret the battery's condition -

This time when the WFCO started acting up, I decided to try the PD unit and so far I like it the install was a bit tricky as space was cramped, but the unit fit with some wire rerouting connecting the two wires and plugging it in was a breeze -

It's not in an easy access location, but I left the optional pendant connected for a while and the unit seemed to be cycling properly in spite of being 'cooked' once by the WFCO, the battery appears to be working fine I'm thinking the cycling on the PD unit has actually helped the battery back to a decent condition after a couple weeks, I removed the pendant and put the breaker panel back together -

The WFCO was a 55 amp unit and I replaced it with a 60 amp I have had two deep cycle batteries, so I thought it would be smart to increase the size slightly in case I add another battery these days, I haven't parked anywhere that I haven't had at least a 110V 15A circuit available for battery charging so I haven't bothered adding the second battery -

The real issue is how this unit performs over time so far, so good -

-------------------------

Update 11/27/2012

I purchased the original unit in March 2012 In July, the original unit stopped working I contacted 2008 second time, they promptly arranged for a replacement unit which has performed flawlessly since hats off to '2008 second time' a great vendor to do business with -

Xantrex Technologies 852-0281 XPower PowerSource 100 Watt Inverter

Xantrex Technologies 852-0281 XPower PowerSource 100 Watt InverterI am not upset about my purchase of this device, but I do need to point out a few things about it.

* 100W is a 5-minute rating based on the inverter, not the battery inside.

* 80W is the inverter output from the car adapter when plugged in.

* 60W is the maximum battery draw without the device shutting itself off.

I read that this device would perform about two hours for a laptop, so I was optimistic. I own a Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro, and an older Dell Inspiron 8000 Pentium 3 laptop. I could not run either of them off the battery inside the PowerSource Mobile 100 if I had the laptop battery installed. Once I removed the laptop battery, I could run from the PS100 for about one hour. Now, realize that my AC adapters draw 75-85 watts max. My friend's laptop draws about 25 watts, instead of the 35-45 that mine draw (battery removed). You may wish to get a device such as the Kill-A-Watt that will show you how much power your laptop actually draws before using the battery and thinking it'll get you two hours of power in a bind.

I used this device on an airplane for my laptop. It was working fine while I was watching a movie. I had headphones on so I didn't hear the audible alarm when the battery went low. A flight attendant came by looking for the source of the alarm. I was embarrassed to find out it was me causing the alarm from my device. I quickly unplugged everything. I would prefer a way to turn the audible alarm off.

Buy Xantrex Technologies 852-0281 XPower PowerSource 100 Watt Inverter Now

Read this device would add another 2 hours to the run time of my laptop.

My laptop draws 22 watts (per kill-a-watt meter) and the mobile 100 lasts

between 45 and 60 minutes before it shuts down. I was not expecting

2 hours but I did expect at least 90 mins. The Mypower All 3400 or apc's

universal laptop battery are better choices if running a laptop is your

main use.

BACKGROUND

I been looking for a simple portable 110V power source that would charge via home or car. This unit is definitely the best on the market although limited in power output and run time. If you need to power something simple it is great but you cannot exceed the 60W output or it shuts off.

I have used these to demo web cameras which draw only 4Watts so it is a great device for that. It is also very good for a small DVD player or other portable device like Ipods or mini-TV's. Unfortunately, most laptops today will draw 60-90W so the charger simply does not power up. If it does it will shut down quickly.

ADVANTAGES

Compact: Very small for a 40W-Hr supply (40W run for 1 hour)

Reliable: Once charged it seems to hold a charge well for 2-3 weeks at at time.

Good (but limited) run times: If power draw is low (@10W) it will run nearly 4hours.

DISADVANTAGES

Cannot keep plugged in 24/7 to use as a battery backup since this may overcharge the battery.

Xantrex does a poor job listing run times vs power draw or even explaining that with low power draw you can be quite long run times. This is a common principle in the backup battery area explained well by companies like APC.

SUMMARY

This is a great little supply for very portable devices. If you do not expect a battery backup solution or a big portable supply then you will be please with the product.

Want Xantrex Technologies 852-0281 XPower PowerSource 100 Watt Inverter Discount?

I used this product on a Dell Mini 9 Netbook for less than a week. While having it plugged into 12 volt DC power from a vehicle for only the third time, I heard a pop and smoke came out of the unit. Calling Xantrex for support they said that my netbook drew too much power. Using a Kill-a-Watt it draws 56 Watts. The Mini 9 power brick says AC Inputer 1 amp. Xantrex support says this is too much and that an internal fuse might have blown. The unit was purchased in late February 2009, but the manufactured date is November 22, 2006. Xantrex does not sell this unit under the Xantrex name anymore. Only under the Duracell name. After some discussion, Xantrex agreed to replace the unit because of the old manufactured date. If this unit does not power a netbook, I find it hard to believe that it can power any laptop. The website says "The mighty battery provides up to 2 additional hours of runtime for a laptop" and shows a full size laptop and an USB device plugged in.

Belkin Car Charger with 8-Pin Lightning Cable for Apple iPhone 5, iPad (4th Gen), iPad mini, iPod t

Belkin Car Charger with 8-Pin Lightning Cable for Apple iPhone 5, iPad, iPad mini, iPod touch, and iPod nano(2.1 AMP / 10 Watt)So i got this over getting just the amazon lighting cable. This cable work's with most cases, the connector part is a bit larger then the standard apple one, but still fits fine in the otterbox defender series case. Charges my Ipad (4th gen) and iphone 5. Works well, Pretty Slim. The lightning cable tip seems to be the original iphone one. Exactly identical.

Cons: abit pricey at $35.00

Pros: Comes with a lightning cable, that works with otterbox, Cable is good quality also

Fast 2.1 Amp charger

I purchased this from the local Apple store after checking Amazon and finding that the prices were identical. At some point I assume the Amazon price will come down since this seems expensive for such a simple device, but high prices seem to be typical for these iPhone accessories, particularly when the products are new.

Advantages:

the charger and cable are separate, which is a big plus in my opinion. This means that:

---you can use the charger for any other device that uses a USB cable

---you now have another USB to lightning cable, if needed to connect your device to a computer for example

sufficient power output (2.1 amp) for both iPhone and iPad (the iPad and certain other products require a higher power output than the iPhone, some products can't handle both)

green LED illuminates when plugged into car to show that power is being supplied

quality of the charger and cable is very good solidly made, looks good

the lightning plug fits into the phone or iPad and clears the case easily (I have a Speck case on my iPhone 5). The lightning plug is slightly larger than the Apple manufactured plug on cables provided by Apple, as the other reviewer has noted, but not so much that it should result in any interference issues.

Disadvantages:

somewhat expensive

seems to be available in black only, so if you want to have the same white as other accessories, I don't think that is available (yet)

the green LED is much brighter than necessary

The only reason I give this 4 rather than 5 stars is the price. In every other aspect this does the job perfectly, and the disadvantages (other than price) that I've listed are very minor ones.

Currently there are not many choices that I am aware of for a lightning car adaptor. The Apple store carried this product as well as a similar product from one other manufacturer, and there is also another Belkin car charger that does not have the cable and charger separate. I decided to get this model for the reasons stated above, and am happy with my choice.

Buy Belkin Car Charger with 8-Pin Lightning Cable for Apple iPhone 5, iPad (4th Gen), iPad mini, iPod t Now

I have an iPhone 5, and plain and simple this puppy works. I have a Ballistic case for the iPhone, and the plug has no issue connecting though the opening of that case (the opening at the bottom of the case is about 1/4 inch wide, or about 6 mm).

The green light is quite green and bright at night. But you know what...? Just turn the plug away from you so that the USB cable blocks the light. Problem solved. Sure, your passenger might get blinded, but that's the price they pay for you to drive.

So while this isn't the cheapest option, you do get the adapter AND a cable, and the cable works. So all in all, not a bad deal.

Great design, nice long cord, ability to charge any USB, bright green light let's you know to unplug it, BUT my daughter and I have purchased 3 between us and every one of them has lasted less than 3-4 months!

Plus, they just doubled the price! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ONE, ESPECIALLY NOT AT TWICE THE PRICE!

Belkin used to make great products. Perhaps it's the sellers, I don't know, but I'm disgusted.

I really love this car charger, and love the fact that it has a long, straight cord and not some curly-wrapped cord that catches on everything. It appears well-built and I also use it for my iPad in the house, by unplugging it and using it in my iPhone jack, or via USB on my computer. Typical solid Belkin construction, with a solid, expensive feel makes this a winner.

All Power America APG3004 1000-Watt 2-Cycle Gas Powered Portable Generator

All Power America APG3004 1000-Watt 2-Cycle Gas Powered Portable GeneratorI bought this generator several months ago on a whim at Cost U Less in St. Croix where I live. I figure that if a Hurricane hit us it may be useful to have backup power. This proved to be one of the best purchases I ever made.

On Wednesday night into early Thursday we got hit with Hurricane Omar, a Category 3 storm. After the storm we had no power. My basement apartment that is occupied by a tenant was flooded. I fired up this little 2 stroke generator and plugged my wet vac into it. It worked great, it could handle the load the 3HP wet vac put on it (this is only a 2HP generator, we gained an entire horse :)). Within an hour and a half her apartment was cleaned up pretty good.

That night we still had no power. I was able to power up my 47" LCD TV, Satellite Box, DSL modem, and Linksys router off of it. I got about 6 hours with this load on 1 gallon of oil/fuel mixture....not bad. The next night we still had no power so my wife added her laptop to this load and got about 5 hours on a gallon of fuel.

Now it would not power my refrigerator or my water pumps from the Cistern which was a bit disappointing. The startup load of the fridge was just too great. Also, like all 2 stroke motor's, starting it can be a pain...when you let gas sit in it for a while the mixture gets a little oil heavy...adding a small amount of gas and "shaking" it seems to get it started again. You will have to yank the cord a few times which is challenging for my wife. It also is loud (as all 2 stroke motor's tend to be).

For the $130 I paid for this I got my money's worth. Just being able to get online and watch my Satellite TV after the storm made life post-Omar much easier. I am very glad I bought this product. It's not a solution to all your power problems but in a pinch such as the one I was in it has worked out great.

Purchase first one, came damaged during shipping and doesn't work. I called Amazon and they shipped out second one and I have to pull it like 20 times just to start it up! When it FINALLY does work, it seems like it is going to stop again It just keeps stalling. Only works for like 15 minutes and then just stops again. In the end, I had to call the manufacturer who promised me that they will refund my purchase. As of this date, I have still not received my refund.

As with buying anything made in china, you take a risk on whether or not it will be quality. Of course, someone has to take these risks to let others know what to expect.

What you get when you buy this is, a 800 watt continuous 2 stroke generator. Nothing else in this description can you take to heart, its almost all lies(china).

First of all, you can make this as quiet as a $2000 honda gen for about $40, if you want to put some time in by checking things, fixing a few things(not that they were broke, more of piece of mind) If you dont want to do any of that, stop here, dont buy this, go spend thousands on a little honda, and be done with it. If you have some skills, and patience, continue reading.

-You must first remember mix gas + oil with this, or it will die quickly.

-You must then remember to start a little rich(more oil than needed) to seat the mechanical parts in. Id run a tank of gas(rich) with no load thru it to get the engine and electric motor broke in.

-If you have trouble starting it...make sure the fuel line is turned on...really..thats probably %90 of people who complain, or they used old gas or didnt mix it properly.

-Then(since it is made in CHINA) I would do a quick once over on all fasteners, and wires, I would recommend adding some auto wire tubing to the wires under the gas tank, for added longevity against chaffing.

-This little buggar is LOUD, Specs (from CHINA) say 65 db, well let me tell you, that would have to be(heres the catch, 65 db from HOW FAR AWAY? who knows, its china) 100 feet(ok not THAT much) or so away for it to be reading those levels. I read 100-130 db right next to the unit, and 100-110 about 10 feet away, non exhaust side. Very loud, can cause hearing loss actually at close distances, luckily about %30 can be reduced by simply making an ingenuous muffler out of a spray paint can...im not going to explain how to do this, simply look at the picture...figure it out, its not that hard, take a can, poke some holes in it, stuff a steel tube half way through, stuff with fiber glass, shove it off the stock muffler exit. BAM, expect 70-80 db after that.

-Next step to taking this little turd to honda specs (50-60 db) is making a 4(yes 4...no front) sided box, and putting a few office building acoustic ceiling tiles in, or acoustic foam if you can find some. I assume you can understand how to make a box, with one side missing and no bottom yes? Its not that hard, glue the tiles on, make sure the box is much bigger (read ~6 inches on all SIDES, not top) to allow for air flow.

Put the spraycan muffler on, start er up, I add a small fan behind the unit, that will be in the box with it to help cool it, as a downside of anything that absorbs sound is it usually is very insulating.

So put the fan behind it, off to the side, cover er up, aim the exhaust away from you, walk 10 feet away, and PRESTO, 60 db ratings, or close to HONDA specs...

Can be done in one day, so is $1800 in savings worth one day of project work to you? If no, buy a honda. If yes, well get this made in china sucker, and put a little effort into your savings.

(will add pics soon)

I have the Champion version of this generator. I bought mine at Cabelas for $100. It required starting fluid when I first bought it because I used it so infrequently and it would smoke after I started it. After 3 years of owning it I bought a travel trailer with a small 5000 btu AC. I have used it many times to run the AC and a few accessories. It does a good job. After actually running for a few hours and getting broken in, it now starts on the first or second pull, actually gets more quiet under load, and I can keep 700-800 watts consistently powered. I only gave 4 stars because it was hard to start before the break in was done. Fuel economy is not great, but it is a cheap genny that does exactlly what it is suppose to do!

Well, I am Festival & Fair vendor. I booked a Labor Day weekend event that required me to provide my own electricity. I figured i'd buy a small portable generator to provide electricity to a strand of lights strung around my tent. Amazon has been great all around. I got it in 2 days like promised. I took it to my festival. I am a woman and it was easy enough for me to start. I ran it for like 3 hours. I was packed with customers and the light just died. Customers fled, money was lost. Other vendors tried to get it started but upon inspection realized the gas was pouring out from the bottom. I had no lights what so ever for the rest of the night. Now I am forced to buy a 500.00 generator from the local Home Depot in order to salvage my weekend. Stay away, stay far away from this hunk or crap or it to will leave you in the dark.

Ok they advertised the battery with F2 terminals, but shipped the smaller F1 terminals. Not a big enough deal to protest but I wanted everyone to know. Also these are batteries are removed from equipment but probably brand new. How to I know? The terminals had marks that they were attached to equipment. They worked ok though.

HHI Retractable Car Charger For Amazon Kindle Fire (Package include a HandHelditems Sketch Stylus P

HHI Retractable Car Charger For Amazon Kindle FireThe retractable cord is great. Had it for several years, but the cord is quite thin, and alas it finally gave way. Would like the same type with a stronger cord.

RUN, RUN, RUN from this seller. Do not walk, but RUN!! I ordered this charger. When it arrived I found the male plug would not fit into the female socket on my Kindle Fire. Further, the car plug would not fit tightly into my car socket. It was so loose it just fell out. I notified the seller and was treated as if I were trying to scam them out of a thousand dollar item. I was told I first had to photograph the tip of the charger, and their invoice and e-mail it to them. I explained that I do not have a camera and could not take the pictures. Afetr several e-mails I caled their customer service and was told it was not their policy to refund shipping even though they sent a defective or wrong item. They then had the nerve to ask me to give them a positive feedback. After they receive this feedback they would consider my request that they reimburse me for the item and shipping. (This sounds an awful lot like blackmail). And, they insist I pay the shipping to return this item to them.

All this aggravation for a $6.99 item!!!

I rated these schlocks with one star, but only because it is not an option to give them a minus five rating.

myCharge Jolt 2000D Power Bank, RFAM-0226 (Silver)

myCharge Jolt 2000D Power Bank, RFAM-0226
  • Rechargeable 2000 mAh battery
  • Extra 9 hours of talk time
  • Built-in Lightning & Micro-USB connectors
  • Charges 2 devices at once
  • Integrated carabineer clip

I'm always looking to find good working tools that can go the distance and add to my Nerd Cave arsenal. That said, I jumped at the opportunity to take the myCharge Jolt 2000D for a test drive. Sadly things didn't work out as planned. The unit that I received was a dud. It powered up for about a minute and died. No lights, no juice, no nada. On top of that, it fried the battery in my Samsung Galaxy S3. Not a good start by any means. So here are my thoughts on this nonworking, battery frying lemon.

Out of the box, the Jolt 2000D is a stealthy thin, silver bodied paper weight and battery fryer. Weighing in at about 5.6 ounces and measuring 2.1" x 5.1" x 0.6" its no lite weight. Targeting those that own both Android and Apple gear, this charger is outfitted with both Apple Lightning and Micro USB connectors. The flexible connectors are hardwired into the unit. The power and battery level check button on this dud is located on the side next to the micro USB input. The mounted carabineer clip is solid and the only working part on this product. A 24" mini USB cable is included. The instructions are easy to read. For the suggested retail price I was expecting a little more in the box. Trust me, there are others out there that offer more for less.

For Apple people that do get a working, non battery frying unit, the Jolt will only accomodate the iPhone5. The power button on the Jolt must be held for 3 seconds after connecting their iPhone5. Users should keep in mind if the battery icon shows a solid green its 100% charged. Flashing green gives a 71-99% charge. When it begins to flash yellow, users will receive anywhere between a 41-70% charge. When the icon flashes red there's less then 40% juice. With a working unit, pressing the level check button gives an immediate read on how much power is left. Recharging the Jolt 2000D can either be done via a micro USB AC charger (NOT INCLUDED) or connecting to a computer. The manufacturer tags on a one year limited warranty to this product.

I realize that every company has its share of lemons. Even the almighty Apple has been known to lay a few. Too bad this one failed so badly coming out of the gate. One thing for sure is that the myCharge Jolt 2000D is overpriced for what it does and does not provide. For me personally, lesson learned. I would never recommend this battery frying lemon to anyone.

This is a very cool gadget. You can carry it with you and recharge your iPhone 5 and your android device on the go. Great for mixed relationships such as ours. I plugged in my husband's smartphone when it was at 47% battery strength and it showed 100% in about half an hour. There's an included USB cable and the arms fold back into the device so you don't have a Martian-looking thing floating around your purse snagging on keys. The arms themselves are flexible, so chances of snapping them off are minimal.

This would be a five star product if it was possible to obtain adapters to accommodate two android devices (the product description is unclear, but leaves the impression that yes, adapters are both possible and included), or an iPhone 4 plus an android. I am also in possession of a couple of android chargers that fit my two Kindles, but alas, the configuration of the android plug on this one does not.

If you own an iPhone 5 and an android, this gadget would be the answer to prayer. I'd suggest to the manufacturer that either a dedicated single charger for iPhone 5 and/or SmartPhone might be the ticket, or make adapters available so that a wider variety of device combinations might be served. An outlet plug-in in addition to the USB cable wouldn't hurt, either.

My verdict is that the Mycharge Volt does exactly what it says it will do. I'd love it if a broader use was possible.

The packaging on my Jolt said "PRE-CHARGED AND READY TO USE." So I plugged my phone in, and my phone started charging. A few minutes later it stopped. I figured maybe the Jolt's battery had simply depleted since shipping from the manufacturer so I plugged it into my computer's USB port to charge it. This is the only charging option unless you own your own USB AC power adapter. Nothing happened no charging light, just nothing. So then I figured it must be really depleted so it will need to charge overnight. Next day? Still nothing. No charge light lit on the Jolt. I figure maybe it is now fully charged but the light on the unit is defective. I plug my phone into it, still nothing. I have held down the power button for eternity, I have switched ports, still nada, zip, zero.

The only conclusion is this unit was a dud. While that happens to any product from time to time, here is what concerns me: One other Vine reviewer had the same experience. Only a handful of these units are made available to Vine reviewers. Basic statistical analysis will tell you that two dead units in that small of a sample size does not bode well for overall quality control concerning this product. There are other, comparable portable charging solutions to extend the charge of your device's battery. You may want to look there first.

Want myCharge Jolt 2000D Power Bank, RFAM-0226 (Silver) Discount?

I've had it a little over a month, and find myself using other chargers or bringing this as backup, as there is no way this gives "9+ additional talk time". Though you can charge two devices at once (one with lightning and other micro-usb) I have not done it. Mainly because I can get about an hour extra hour if I am lucky. Be it my iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire, and MiFi etc.

When I got it, even though it claimed to be pre-charged, I knew it would be depleted a bit, so I just charged it right away. I put it in a bag on a trip to NYC and thankfully I brought another charge backup as this thing got my iphone up about 35% more and then stopped.

It's not fully worthless, as it would be a good emergency backup when all else fails or is used up. I'd say it's good for hiking and camping, due to it's carabiner clip, but not for longer adventures. Invest in something else that is much higher than 2000 mAh.

I really wanted to like this my Charge Jolt charger. It seemed like the perfect accessory for those transitioning to the iPhone 5. The problem is that this product hasn't really figured out how to charge an iPhone all that well.

The charger only charged my phone for a short while. While I don't really think that this was that hard to set up, I found myself second guessing whether or not I charged the device itself. Judging by the other reviews, I don't think it's my fault.

For 70 dollars, I really can't recommend this product. While the market is a bit small for products like this at the moment, I'm sure it will pick up as the iPhone 5 becomes more predominant. It's better to save your money then to waste it on a product like this.

CableForge 12v Vehicle Car Charger for LG Optimus G E970 for AT&T cell phone coiled stretch power charger micro USB 4ftit's sold for a good price, it lights up blue when plugged in and looks really cool. I would definitely recommend this.

This charger broke after about a week. True, it was inexpensive, but if something is made this shoddily, it should not be sold at any price.

I use this device to charge my phone during my ~1 hour commute to and from work. During this time, I use it to stream Internet radio over 4G -nothing too strenuous. But by the time I get to my destination, the device is hot to the touch. It will also disengage easily, just by brushing up against it while you're driving. It stays in the socket, but it's no longer charging. The USB connector also feels pretty loose -I thought the USB port on my phone had been damaged at first.

I guess I shouldn't have expected much for the $4.50 I paid. In a few days, I'm replacing it with the Powergen unit that's popular on Amazon (model PGCHCAR31A). We'll see how that goes.

Monster Outlets to Go USB PowerPack

Monster Outlets to Go USB PowerPack
  • Compact and stylish design makes it easy to charge devices in your car
  • Included cigarette lighter adapter provides up to 10W
  • Integrated hybrid charger powers almost any two USB devices at home, in the car or on the go

As a Vine reviewer I take this a bit serious. I am asked to review products and tell you the consumer what is and is not worthy of your hard earned dollars. I must admit I hoped this was going to be an excellent product. But its not and for the price point it is even more disconcerting. To start with understand what this is ...and most importantly isn't.

It is a usb charger. So it can if you have a cord that plugs from your device to this, charge your phone, zune, ipod, kindle, ect. It will replace the need to bring all those seprate chargers...but you still need the cords.

It is not a portable battery pack, power pack, or self contained charger. It "needs" power to make power.

So its a good way to safe packing space right, and cheaper than buying spare power adapter or other usb power plugs for your home or car right?....no...sorry its not. And to boot it takes up 2 spaces on most power outlets so it does not save you there either...

So unfortunately unless you got money to burn and need the "Moster" name...look else where. such as here

USB AC Power Adapter, White

or2-Port USB Home Travel Charger for Apple iPhone / iPod (Black)

RND Power Solutions Premium (3.1A) 4 Port USB AC Adapter / Wall charger for iPads, iPhones, Tablets, Smartphones, MP3 Players and Gaming Devices (black)

car options:

PowerGen Dual USB Port 2A 10w (fast) Heavy Duty Ouput Car Charger Black

Mediabridge High Output Dual USB Car Charger For iPad and iPhone (Dual Port High Output Design: 1.0 Amp USB for iPhone; 2.1 Amp for iPad or additional iPhone)

One of the expectations of a two port USB charger is that it will let you save space on the number of outlets used. This is unfortunately not the case with this device. The plug is placed in such a way that it isn't possible to use a nearby outlet on a powerstrip. There is some added convenience of a built in car charger (single usb), but it requires taking the charger back and forth with you. There was also a bit of sparking on plugging this in, not much, but other chargers did not do this. It is capable of putting out a decent amount of current, enough for larger devices. Overall though, the convenience is hampered by the design.

To be clear, this is a box about the size of a deck if cards. It has fold out ac prongs to plug into the wall. In that configuration it provides two usb ports for charging with a total of 5w of power. The round usb port can be pried loose from the box and it is a very small single car charger converting your cigarette port into a usb charger. No cables are included.

Negatives the round part can be difficult to pull out with your fingertips or nails; the ac wall prongs cause the adapter to take up most of a normal two plug wall outlet. It is possible to plug in something else above it, but only a slim lamp plug or similar.

Want Monster Outlets to Go USB PowerPack Discount?

Two days after I received this item I took it on a business trip with my iPad and the iPad's bluetooth keyboard. This item has one module that is a car charger--the bottom bit that you see in the picture, which pulls out to use as a car charger. Or, as you see it there in the picture it inserts in the other component which plugs into a standard wall plug unit. This way it has two USB charging ports--perfect for my iPad and keyboard.

It worked fantastically well all weekend under pretty constant use. The unit did get warm, but never hot.

I hadn't realized things like this existed: now I can't imagine traveling without it for my electronics.

My only beef is there are no instructions, but then again, I'm a computer dummy and I figured it out, so...guess it's not that hard! :D

I am wanting to buy these for my family for Christmas!

This new Monster Outlets to Go USB PowerPack is a fascinating device for a number of reasons. To start with, it's a true 2-in-1 charger that will allow you to charge just about any two USB devices at the same time. It has enough punch charge tablets, smartphones, MP3 players, digital cameras and more.

It's truly flexible in that when you plug this PowerPack into a wall outlet or power strip, it offers two USB ports that will deliver up to 15W of power, so you can charge two devices simultaneously. Add to this, when you need true charging for when you're mobile in your car, you can easily remove its built-in cigarette lighter adapter (see the one with the round silver ring) and have a single USB port in your car that provides "up to 10W of rapid-charging power" as noted in the specs, so this gives you very flexible charging options while at home, work or when you're on the road.

The plug has retractable prongs that fold away neatly when not in use, and it also offers one of the narrowest form factors that this user has seen when plugged into a wall or a power strip. Unlike many similar two-port (or even many single-port) USB chargers, the narrow design allows it to be plugged into the same space that you would use for a simple two-prong lamp... it's that narrow.

The Monster Outlets to Go USB PowerPack has the thinnest form factor that this user has found for a two-USB charger, and that make it handy when outlet space is at a premium. Being a hybrid vehicle/wall charger makes it quite versatile, but don't leave the part that goes into the cigarette lighter in your vehicle or the versatility will be lost.

Odyssey PC625 Powersports Battery

Odyssey PC625 Powersports BatteryThis is my second Odyssey Battery and the first one is still working fine. I use these in a pair of Yamaha WaveRunners. One of the best features on this battery is its ability to hold a charge. Come winter, I just disconnect the battery and leave it in the WaveRunner and it is ready to go in the spring; the cold does not bother it at all.

these batteries do not generate gasses dangerous especially due to the equipment that must be nearby when you generate solar/wind electricity. this co. ships fast and refunds are not a problem. their prices are the best and their rating is almost always 5 star. 'nough fer me.

Buy Odyssey PC625 Powersports Battery Now

The Odyssey PC625 Powersports Battery is a very good Battery. When I first received the battery, I was a little worried because it is very compact. I put it in my boat (it arrived fully charged) and went out to the lake. I tooled around for about 4 hours and still had a 1/4 charge. I liked it so much that I bought a second one and I now use two of these to power my 40 lbs thrust electric trolling motor. The small size allows me to easily fit both in my Minkota Battery enclosure. I have the motor on my square back canoe, and this set of batteries keep me trolling all day long. Smooth power delivery and long life as well as the compact sealed design make these batteries ideal for powering small boat motors. It takes and holds a charge very well. It is a little more expensive than a similar battery (that is larger, heavier, and may not work as well) but I believe it is completely worth the price. I would recommend these without hesitation.

Read Best Reviews of Odyssey PC625 Powersports Battery Here

heheh, I'm going to be the outlier here believe it or not I use this in my car! :) I think this really shows the power and versatility of this battery. I modified the back of my car to open up to allow for easier working on the engine, but this required me to tilt the trunk 90 degrees the original battery was a normal battery, so this would translate to spilling it's contents all over everything, which is generally what you don't want to do. So I searched around and looked for what my options were in terms of a sealed battery that could still put out enough amps to turn over my car more than a few times and not leave me stranded in some parking lot. A couple other Lotus owners also identified this battery (which they used for weight reasons), and I switch to it about two years ago without a single issues.

Now I don't recommend this for everyone (or really anyone), because there are quite a few caveats such as I had to put a battery quick-disconnect on it because the parasitic load from the alarm would drain it dead in about a week. But I think the fact that I can use the battery and have it perform so well in an environment it most likely was not intended to be in speaks volumes of its quality.

A bigger battery might run longer but this battery doesn't weigh much and its easy to carry around.I thought I'd try this one out because of all the good reviews. You can see a video I made of this battery being used on my inflatable boat here with a trolling motor by clicking on ''By Rod Hays ''.The video is on ''Intex Seahawk II Boat Set''
