Vision X XPC-B22 High Capacity Battery Pack for Solstice Solo Pod

Vision X XPC-B22 High Capacity Battery Pack for Solstice Solo PodNot so sure it works, cheap plug to charge it, no instructions, the plug is the continental type with an adapter for U.S.charging that is not one fat blade, one regular, and plug to converter box on cord (like on a computer cable, bulky) is both the same like an eight, so not sure if it is plugged in the right way now, but it is blinking green very dimly, but sure that leaving it plugged in when it is bright green for hours it does not charge it. i will update if it works and change the review.

12V 4 Ah Sealed Lead Acid Replacement Battery for DIGITAL SECURITY CONTROLS DSC BD4-12

12V 4 Ah Sealed Lead Acid Replacement Battery for DIGITAL SECURITY CONTROLS DSC BD4-12I needed this battery for the backup system in my house alarm. I knew that the alarm company charges $70 for a service call, so I decided to see if I could find one for sale. Of course, Amazon came through, and their partner Arrowhead Company also came through. I ordered the battery on Monday, and it arrived ahead of schedule on Wednesday, saving me the price of a service call, and likely a higher price for the battery. If this one lasts as long as the last one, I'll be really happy.

My old battery worked in security system at least five years until yellow light appeared on the touchpad. I ordered this new one, it was shipped pretty fast. I received thing in four days. I connected battery to where it belongs, in few hours yellow light went off... so it works for now. How good this battery will be? I can tell you in five years, just wait a little...

Was happy to find this on Amazon, a visit to our local "electronics superstore" turned up nothing. The battery in our home alarm system was dying (and setting off the alarm every 12 hours, tons of fun). Thankfully this arrived in a few days and did the trick. It took about 12 hours for the "system battery low" warning to stop, I think the system had to reset itself. Oh, and we totally had to get a locksmith to open the alarm box after losing the key. Awesome.

Xantrex Technologies 852-0281 XPower PowerSource 100 Watt Inverter

Xantrex Technologies 852-0281 XPower PowerSource 100 Watt InverterI am not upset about my purchase of this device, but I do need to point out a few things about it.

* 100W is a 5-minute rating based on the inverter, not the battery inside.

* 80W is the inverter output from the car adapter when plugged in.

* 60W is the maximum battery draw without the device shutting itself off.

I read that this device would perform about two hours for a laptop, so I was optimistic. I own a Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro, and an older Dell Inspiron 8000 Pentium 3 laptop. I could not run either of them off the battery inside the PowerSource Mobile 100 if I had the laptop battery installed. Once I removed the laptop battery, I could run from the PS100 for about one hour. Now, realize that my AC adapters draw 75-85 watts max. My friend's laptop draws about 25 watts, instead of the 35-45 that mine draw (battery removed). You may wish to get a device such as the Kill-A-Watt that will show you how much power your laptop actually draws before using the battery and thinking it'll get you two hours of power in a bind.

I used this device on an airplane for my laptop. It was working fine while I was watching a movie. I had headphones on so I didn't hear the audible alarm when the battery went low. A flight attendant came by looking for the source of the alarm. I was embarrassed to find out it was me causing the alarm from my device. I quickly unplugged everything. I would prefer a way to turn the audible alarm off.

Buy Xantrex Technologies 852-0281 XPower PowerSource 100 Watt Inverter Now

Read this device would add another 2 hours to the run time of my laptop.

My laptop draws 22 watts (per kill-a-watt meter) and the mobile 100 lasts

between 45 and 60 minutes before it shuts down. I was not expecting

2 hours but I did expect at least 90 mins. The Mypower All 3400 or apc's

universal laptop battery are better choices if running a laptop is your

main use.

BACKGROUND

I been looking for a simple portable 110V power source that would charge via home or car. This unit is definitely the best on the market although limited in power output and run time. If you need to power something simple it is great but you cannot exceed the 60W output or it shuts off.

I have used these to demo web cameras which draw only 4Watts so it is a great device for that. It is also very good for a small DVD player or other portable device like Ipods or mini-TV's. Unfortunately, most laptops today will draw 60-90W so the charger simply does not power up. If it does it will shut down quickly.

ADVANTAGES

Compact: Very small for a 40W-Hr supply (40W run for 1 hour)

Reliable: Once charged it seems to hold a charge well for 2-3 weeks at at time.

Good (but limited) run times: If power draw is low (@10W) it will run nearly 4hours.

DISADVANTAGES

Cannot keep plugged in 24/7 to use as a battery backup since this may overcharge the battery.

Xantrex does a poor job listing run times vs power draw or even explaining that with low power draw you can be quite long run times. This is a common principle in the backup battery area explained well by companies like APC.

SUMMARY

This is a great little supply for very portable devices. If you do not expect a battery backup solution or a big portable supply then you will be please with the product.

I used this product on a Dell Mini 9 Netbook for less than a week. While having it plugged into 12 volt DC power from a vehicle for only the third time, I heard a pop and smoke came out of the unit. Calling Xantrex for support they said that my netbook drew too much power. Using a Kill-a-Watt it draws 56 Watts. The Mini 9 power brick says AC Inputer 1 amp. Xantrex support says this is too much and that an internal fuse might have blown. The unit was purchased in late February 2009, but the manufactured date is November 22, 2006. Xantrex does not sell this unit under the Xantrex name anymore. Only under the Duracell name. After some discussion, Xantrex agreed to replace the unit because of the old manufactured date. If this unit does not power a netbook, I find it hard to believe that it can power any laptop. The website says "The mighty battery provides up to 2 additional hours of runtime for a laptop" and shows a full size laptop and an USB device plugged in.

SunSocket Sun-Tracking Solar Generator

SunSocket Sun-Tracking Solar GeneratorAspect Solar has come along with a game changer for portable power.

Specs total weight is only 25LBS and folds up nicely into a suitcase like package. Set up is easy and getting power even quicker. Real time to get power going (battery was already somewhat powered up) was less that 4 minutes the battery will charge from completely dead to full power in around 5hrs (sunny day) and 9ish hours on a cloudy day. USB sockets, 12V DC socket, AC universal socket and a standard DC input for wall charging all come standard out of the box. The coolest feature is the "Sun Tracking". Once its up and working you never have to reposition the solar panels to get maximum charge, the device will track the sun for you. Super sweet.

The use case scenario for this product is pretty unlimited but here is how I see my self using it -

Emergency lately storms in the US seem to be more and more devastating, with most of the problems coming after the storm not during. If your area has no power for days let alone weeks how are you supposed to keep food protected or communicate to the outside world. This is a must have in your emergency kit.

Outdoor/Cabin

Living in the west provides me with all kinds of outdoor opportunities, knowing that I can take power with me any were means I can do pretty much anything anywhere put it in my cabin for primary or back up power. What this really means is that I can work from anywhere the ski cabin, the fishing cabin or the "I just don't want to be in the office" cabin .

The price while not cheap is definitely affordable especially if you consider what it will do for you.

Aspect Solar's sun-tracking SunSocket(tm) solar generator is portable yet without the 65 plus lbs. of weight to carry around (like they usually have)! it is 25 pounds and whether you are taking camping, to another country, whatever the case might be it is easy to cart around with its light-weight briefcase style.

It also has USB ports that work even when you have folded up your solar panels for the night so you can keep charging your phone, iPad, etc.

It should also be noted that the solar panels stay connected to the briefcase itself keeping set up/take down super easy (there is even an automatic button).

Plus, with the sun-tracking device you are getting a full charge all day without having to take time to adjust on your own.

A fantastic product!!

Rubberized Retractable Car Charger for T-Mobile myTouch 3G

Rubberized Retractable Car Charger for T-Mobile myTouch 3GI absolutely love this car charger. With the retractable cord, it is great for the car and doesn't have a cord hanging out. Great product and great delivery service.

This item works great. Should be about $5 IMO, but you won't be dissatisfied with it at $10. When retracted, it fits easily into your pocket.

The retractable cable is a great feature, but I wish it was another 6" long when extended. The cable at full extension is about 3' or less. Depending on where your car lighter port is, you may need to be creative in finding a place to put the phone while using your phone's GPS or internet radio or MP3 player capabilities.

Kenwood DPX303 Dual-DIN AAC/WMA/MP3 CD Receiver with External Media Control

Kenwood DPX303 Dual-DIN AAC/WMA/MP3 CD Receiver with External Media Control
  • AM/FM radio, CD, CD-R/RW, MP3/WMA/AAC, iPod-ready, HD/satellite radio-ready, Bluetooth-ready receiver
  • 4 x 50 Watts maximum power with two 2V pre-amp outputs
  • Large multi-line display with full spectrum variable illumination
  • Includes front panel auxiliary input; add Kenwood adapters for HD/satellite radio, Bluetooth, iPod
  • One-year limited warranty

this is a good system. I am a fan of kenwood products and this is no let down. it has all the funtions you need for a good sound system. however, if I had it to do over, I would get the 503 model (the upgrade). It has enough added features to make it a great instead of good system.

Buy Kenwood DPX303 Dual-DIN AAC/WMA/MP3 CD Receiver with External Media Control Now

The product is great, the installation was easy as I was replacing a Kenwood, so it basically was a plug and play. I wish I had purchased one level up to a DPX 503. There are alot of programming features that are not available on this model, and the display is hard to read. The feature I miss the most is it does not give song and artist. Other than that it is great and I couldn't beat the price.

This had been purchased new by the previous owner of my car. It was only a few months old when I received it. I hate it. The previous owner said you had to be a rocket scientist to program the simplest functions, and he was right. But after you've spent a weekend reading the manual and trying to get the various menus to work, the worst aspects of the unit set in. Operating the thing is the most frustrating experience I've ever had with a indash unit (I've had dozens and dozens). The joystick knob performs so many functions that a slight variation in how it pressed (the amount of pressure, the length of time pressure is made, and the direction of pressure) all make it do things you don't want. When you do luckily operate it perfectly, it still requires multiple more buttons to push before you can do something as simple as simply changing from cd to radio. Also, it is impossible to read the led readout in the daytime. I really do hate this thing and highly recommend to anyone considering a similarly made product by Kenwood to look elsewhere.

Want Kenwood DPX303 Dual-DIN AAC/WMA/MP3 CD Receiver with External Media Control Discount?

This is actually a review for the 503 which is basically the same as this one I believe. The only difference being that the 503 has a usb port, which is AWESOME. Its what I primarily use it for 99% of the time. Its great, I just plug my flash drive in and play. It also looks really cool especially at night. I've never changed it from the demo mode where it changes colors, its my favorite one. The only gripe is that the tuner is messed up, but I think its because of the way I installed it, it doesn't matter to me because I don't use the tuner.

I'd definitely buy another kenwood product, have had this for about 3 years with no problems. I've had the remote fall to the ground and break open at least a dozen times getting out of my car and forgetting it was on my lap, and its still in great shape.

Got this little gem as a replacement for my KIA factory CD. had to up grade the rear speakes from factory but this unit rocks my little car and produces clear sound and base. good price and very good quality product, but then again its a Kenwood I wouldn't expect any thing less. Well worth the money.

Schumacher SS-15A3-OB Ship 'N Shore 15 Amps 12V Automatic On-Board 3-Bank Charger

Schumacher SS-15A3-OB Ship 'N Shore 15 Amps 12V Automatic On-Board 3-Bank ChargerJust got this charger recently so I haven't had a lot of time to evaluate it. I like the fact that it is waterproof as some other brands of marine chargers I looked at were not. The charger seems well made and works as advertised. I know some people have taken issue with the fact that the charger switches banks every 5 minutes when charging but this seems a better situation to me than a typical 15 amp, 3 bank charger that only gives each battery 5 amps max. I say this because during the initial charge the batteries will accept the full 15 amps during the five minute sequence and that should help with mixing electrolyte and desulfating the plates, while guarding against heat and boil-over. The Schumacher has true 3 stage (bulk--adsorption--float) charging and the overall charge time seems at least as fast as the typical 15 amp total, 5 amp per bank charger. All in all I am happy with this charger. I have another Schumacher that is over 30 years old and still going strong. While that kind of reliability may be an unrealistic expectation, it makes it all the more likely that this charger will end up being an outstanding value.

Internal cooling fan makes god-awful noises right out of the box (lots of starting/stopping, speeding up/slowing down), which I can live with... but the evidently cheap little fan was not up to the task and died within a couple of months. Pulled it all out of the boat, sent it back under warranty, reinstalled the repaired unit, and, guess what... the same thing happened. The case never gets hot so I just ran it with the non-functioning fan. Kept all three batteries topped off OK for a couple of years.

Now I get a red indicator saying one of my batteries is bad. Removed the battery and had it checked at the parts store. Battery is fine. Swapped the charging leads among my three batteries and the charger now says ANOTHER battery is bad (the problem is with the #3 bank in the charger). Doesn't seem to be charging on the third battery now. I don't have time for this crap. I'm just going to pull it out and go with a different unit (Minn Kota maybe).

This is just a cheapo, unreliable unit. I've had several Schumacher products in the past and was pleased with them, but this one is junk.

PIONEER AirWare XM2Go Portable XM Satellite Radio Receiver

PIONEER AirWare XM2Go Portable XM Satellite Radio ReceiverI don't normally submit "product opinions" (I know, shame on me) but this portable XM radio from Pioneer is so good that I felt that I had to. I had been considering getting some kind of a satellite radio for my car for more than 6 months and when I found out that a friend of mine had a Delphi XM unit in his car I knew that the time had come to finally make a move :-)

I was thinking of getting a Delphi MyFi but then discovered that the Pioneer AirWare had recently hit the store shelves. I like the Pioneer brand and also liked the looks (and controls) of the Pioneer unit more than those of the MyFi .. so I picked up an AirWare at the local Circuit City (can get it cheaper elsewhere for sure). I have had it for 3 weeks now and during this time have used it EXTENSIVELY in the car, in my home office and also on business trips. It works great !

I am especially impressed by the effectiveness of the built-in FM transmitter ... I have used a few built-in and external FM transmitters in my time over the past few years but haven't had much luck with them (too much interference from other radio stations). I was pleasantly surprised (and relieved) to discover that the AirWare's transmitter is VERY effective ... I have been driving around the Connecticut/ Westchester County/NYC/Long Island region quite a bit since I got it, without having to switch FM frequencies at all !

The features and sound quality of the unit are great. It is very useful that you can record up to 5 hours of audio (via a "scheduled record" function) that you can then listen to offline when the satellite reception is not up to snuff. Another neat feature is that if you hear a song or artist that you like, you can press a button and from then on whenever that same song or artist is playing on any of the 150+ channels the unit beeps and displays a message so that, if you want, you can press the same button and the unit automatically switches to the relevant channel.

The AirWare comes with everything that you neeed to set it up at home or in a car. When using the AirWare in my car I use the "vent mount" to secure it (in its cradle) to an air vent. I have the antenna magnetically-mounted outside on the front part of the car roof. On some of the more tree-lined roads of Connecticut, satellite reception can sometimes be spotty ... you need to have line-of-sight to the XM satellites which are positioned in the southern sky .. but generally reception is very good. All-in-all I am very happy that I got it ... it is a very, very well designed and executed product ... plus the breadth and quality of the XM programming is great.

In summary I can heartily recommend both the Pioneer AirWare and the XM service !

I've purchased many items from Amazon over the past several years and this is the first time I've been motivated to post a review. I guess the main reason is that the quality of this item is more than I expected. For me it's the perfect size and the design is very attractive. It was easy for this 60 year old to learn and it works flawlessly. The FM transmitter sends a perfect signal to a radio 25 feet away in a different room. I can take it and a portable radio anywhere and it works perfect. It comes with all possible home and auto accessories case, belt clip/table stand etc etc. There is nothing more to buy. The remote turned out to be handy since there are so many choices to make on XM.

Buy PIONEER AirWare XM2Go Portable XM Satellite Radio Receiver Now

I got hooked on XM Satellite Radio via AOL's WinAmp software where several commercial free XM channels are available. Then I signed up for XM's free trial of its online service.

What a marvel. Really well chosen music available 24/7 without commercials or talking (air)heads. (XM also offers sports and news channels, which are of little interest to me.)

(...) It comes with everything you will need. The Airware itself serves as a portable device. A reasonably decent carrying case is provided. Car and home mounts are also included.

The Airware is supposedly capable of transmitting to your FM receiver. I haven't tried it because I prefer cassette adapters. One is included with the kit. So is a cigarette lighter power adapter, an external antenna and a car vent mount. The antenna, power and audio out cables must be connected to the car vent mount before it is installed. The car vent mount installs easily enough, but is a bear to get out. Be very careful when removing it or you may break the mounting brackets. In urban areas, the vent mount may be an invitation to theft, which means quite possibly a broken mounting bracket.

The home mount is a simple cradle and takes only seconds to set up.

The included remote control is very handy and has a pretty decent range.

The unit, taken as a whole, is one heck of a bargain even without the rebate.

I live in a metro area where XM offers terrestrial coverage, so I haven't had to use either the inside or outside external antennas.

The XM service itself is superb. Except for six channels where Clear Channel Communications, an investor, forced them to run commercials, there are nearly 150 more channels that are commercial free. Every taste is accounted for. The programming is outstanding. I've never really noticed what a difference good programming can make because you just don't find really good programming on regular radio stations or in the "elevator" music of stores and offices. The XM programming is clearly done by people who love music for people who love music. It's that good.

There has to be a negative somewhere and there is: XM telephone customer service is awful. Like many others they have outsourced to someplace overseas. They are clearly using a VoIP connection and would be well advised to find a better provider. Their operators are unskilled and although they speak English, it is clearly not their primary language. It took me 45 minutes to accomplish a simple task and most of the time I was asking the representative to speak louder and slower so I could understand what she was saying, Their customer support website is compatible only with Microsoft Internet Explorer, something else that should be corrected.

Overall, the Pioneer Airware is a superlative product and the XM technology is great. Best of all, XM's programming is good almost beyond words.

This is a gadget and a service that is truly a must-have.

Jerry

This is a great radio. You cannot go wrong with Pioneer quality and this radio is no exception. If you want to subscribe to XM radio satellite service this is the perfect receiver to own. It is very durable and sound quality is superb. XM(unlike their competitor Sirius)does not compress their audio, so the music is extremely clean and clear. You also have the option of storing up to 5 hours of music in this radios memory in case you want to play it back later. The only drawback to satellite radio is you will not get a signal 100 percent of the time. If you go into big buildings or you are somehow blocked from the satellite signal, you will experience dropoffs(slight losses in reception). So if you go into stores or office buildings you may experience this. This does not really bother me because most of the time I turn off the radio when I am in stores or offices. With XM you get a great variety of music, news, talk, comedy, childrens programs, and sports all in one place. And it's 100 percent digital. Great display too. 6 lines of info including channel name and number, artist, song, and if you prefer you can add sports scores or stock info. Also many accesories including car kit, transmitter(if you wish to have XM on any home stereo), and dock for recharging and placing you radio safely on a shelf. Everything you need for car, boat, home, or anywhere on the go. This is a wonderful portable radio. Excellent!!

Want PIONEER AirWare XM2Go Portable XM Satellite Radio Receiver Discount?

The device itself is great looking and easy to use; but I would like to warn about some installation problems. 1st of all, I was a little sucked in by the too easy installation instructions (they are available on the web). When they tell you the antenna needs a southern exposure in the window, they absolutely mean it. So I guessed wrong about where my window was, so I could not hook it up directly to my dvd/sound system as suggested (partly because the window was all the way across my toddler's playroom!). I was then concerned about having to do some sort of hardwired installation or purchasing a wireless repeater (only one available; expensive); but after much research on the web, I found one person who used the FM frequency feature you would use in the car, but in the house, which isn't mentioned in the instructions. So my radio sits upstairs where it gets excellent reception, and I turn my sound system on to the specified FM frequency, and I'm good to go. Only problem is that I have to go upstairs to change the station, but it works. Also, audiophiles might quibble with the sound quality since it isn't a direct connection, but my dvd system has ways of changing the speakers and other features that make it sound great to me. Actually, any radio in the house will pick it up. I've also gotten great reception in the car, the easiest yet. I don't mind draping wires (I've actually only clipped them up)so I have the car antenna so that I can easily move it to another car (as opposed to tucking wires in weather stripping) So far on walks, I've been getting some dropout but good, but it's cold out so I haven't been out much. I imagine you can't run with it. There is an aftermarket clip-on antenna that you can find on the web for improving reception while walking about (looks dopey though). Some design quibbles: you can't use the protective case while the device is either in it's docking station for the car or house. So you have to take it off constantly; I don't want the radio to become scratched/smushed in my diaper bag so that bugs me. You can lock the keys so it doesn't turn on in a pocket, etc. It is also an extremely tight fit in the home docking station; you have to really push down to seat the connections well. Regarding service, I love the fact XM radio includes an online subscription, but disappointly not all stations are available on the online version. A big plus for this device is the ability to record shows so I can listen at the gym when I have no reception. Also, FYI, I live in suburban Philadelphia in a very tree-filled neighborhood. Hope this helps!

If you own a Nuvi 765T you probably know by now that when constantly using the unit powered from the car's cigarette lighter, the original battery will drop dead and loose its ability to charge pretty quickly. After about 2 years owning one, the battery would hold a charge for no longer than 5 minutes. I was sure I'd find an elegant solution out there to service the unit myself, and sure enough, I came upon this product/

This is a very practical solution to refurbishing your Nuvi 765T GPS. It comes complete with a screwdriver and lever needed to unscrew and pry the unit open. A double-sided tape would have been a nice add-on but I was able to use the one I peeled off the old battery from inside the GPS. There is also not much room for the battery to room around inside so I wasn't too worried. All in all, it took me 3 minutes to replace the battery.

Highly recommendable to make a low cost battery uplift to your used / battery depleted unit.

I was very pleasantly surprised to see (by watching the enclosed DVD that ran without a hitch on my computer) that I just had to unscrew two small screws in the back, use the green shimmy tool to GENTLY pry open the case (and this was the hardest part took me probably about 6 minutes, but it wasn't awful...just had to be careful and patient the video made it look a bit easy), disconnect two circuits on the board which came out easily, take out the old battery (again, a little patience required because of the cement-like glue they use to hold it to the back of the Garmin's case), use a piece of double-sided tape which I had in a drawer (didn't come in the kit...sounds like some people get double-sided tape and others don't) to seat the new battery where the old one was and stick it down, then go in reverse!

Having the DVD helped relieve any anxiety about the "procedure" of opening up my GPS. It really was easier than I had expected. The battery showed 4 bars (full) on my Garmin when I booted it back up, which made me smile. :) Charging now for the heck of it and I plan to give it a shot tomorrow since I use my GPS several times a week. Now I can spend the money I saved on maps for life. Thanks, seller, for a GREAT product I'll definitely be back if I need your help again! :D CHEERS!

I live in the Chicago area and leave my unit in the car all year around. Not good for battery life but if I leave it in the house, it will never be with me when I REALLY NEED IT! So my two year old battery would last about 5 minutes. I'm going on a trip this month and wanted to be able to search the area when away from my car. I researched replacement batteries and found the YouTube for the NewPower99. Looked easy enough ... so I gave it a try. I really took my time since I'm not a computer whiz. It took 7 minutes ... turned it on ... and it turned right on. To my surprise, the battery was fully charged. The tools that came with the battery were easy to use and great to have around for when I need to tighten the screw in my glasses. Don't be afraid of this ... just watch the video while you do it and your good to go.

I am not sure whether our Garmin is simply a lemon or whether this product is. It might well be the former but either way we have no functioning GPS. Installation was simple thanks to the accompanying video and our Garmin appeared to kick in with full power when we first charged it up. But, alas, it drained, displayed "Low Battery," and stopped working within 30 minutes just as it had prior to switching out the battery. Very annoying. I would make sure you truly have a battery issue before you purchase this because we obviously can't go back to Garmin now having opened the unit and installed this.

I thought my Garmin was a goner after I allowed the battery to get fried by the sun while in my vehicle. I was actually looking for a replacement when I came across this product. It came with everything needed (including special tools) to replace the battery and a DVD with very clear instructions. It took me maybe 10 minutes to complete and my Nuvi has worked great ever since.

Milwaukee 0780-20 28 Volt Wet/Dry Vacuum,

Milwaukee 0780-20 28-Volt Cordless Wet/Dry VacuumFirst, it should be obvious that this is a bare tool. The batteries/charger cost more than the unit. Therefore, it is good if you have other V28 tools.

Next, somewhere someone commented that this is as powerful as a corded vac. It is not. A normal shop vac is around 1000W to 1500W, and it is unrealistic to expect this little portable guy with a 1-1/4" hose to have the same power. It just isn't as powerful.

But, it has a very usable power for my intended purpose, which is to say, it has enough power to clean up a small "mess" without having to lug out a real vac. I find I'm also using it for a surprising amount of small around the house/in the car cleaning/dusting since it is so conveniently portable. The cordless portability is the reason to buy.

A major compromise between power and battery life is that the battery (a big V28 mind you) only lasts maybe 5 minutes. This is enough for a small project clean-up, but don't expect it to clean up your shop. On the plus side, it uses 1-1/4" accessories which concentrate the available suction well and which are also the standard size for home vacuum cleaners. This item does not come with a dust brush attachment which I considered a necessity, but luckily I just bought one for a regular home vac.

The hose is VERY flexible which is nice. It accordians down to a small U-shaped unit which fits into a holder on the side when not in use. If I get a chance, I'll post a pic since this was one of my questions when purchasing it. It is fairly easy to carry in one hand and vacuum with the other.

I cannot quite give it 5 stars because I think it is still a bit overpriced, and some parts like the hinges, etc., seem a bit on the cheap side and clunky to use. I cannot comment on long-term durability yet. Hope this review helps you.

I was excited to make this purchase and am glad I did. This is so handy and I find myself reaching for it all the time because it is so quick. One of the best things I found out about this unit, is that you can put the hose into two ports, one for suction and another for blowing. I use the blowing feature for cleaning out computers and filters. Works great. Absolutely love it.

This quality, powerful, suitcase-style vacuum was designed with the craftsman and home workshop in mind. If you already have the V28 batteries for other Milwaukee tools, you will find a use for this vacuum. It costs less than one V28 battery. Many work shops have several stations and dragging a hefty shop vac around on rollers through a maze becomes a real pain. It is also great for the commercial handyman who travels to people's homes to do odd jobs and is neat enough in appearance to please the lady who wants the shelves in her bedroom swapped with the shelves in her closet and a new do-dad added on to where the old do-hickey used to be hanging. For electricians and plumbers who sometimes work without power, this makes clean-up by either blowing or vacuuming a breeze. The self-contained, box shape with carrying handle makes transportation simple. Granted, if I didn't already have several V28 batteries, this tool would not have been an option. However, a man can not have too many tools.

Best yet cordless vac, tops all the DeWalt 18 volt I own. Sucks like a corded unit. I would buy it again.

Nothing compares to this vacuum. Anyone complaining about battery life or saying your better off with a regular plug in vacuum is an idiot. It's great for small jobs but I get by with just using it instead of a huge corded vacuum on any job site. I find I use it more than a standard large vacuum because it is so portable. I've also used it to drain supply lines so they can be soldered for plumbing repairs (a real time saver). It's also great for hard to reach areas where a cord is just not in the cards. It's compact size makes it practical to carry in the truck daily which nay, ales your work better. If your on the fence hope off and get this vacuum!

X3000 2.7" 140° Dual Lens dash board camera car dvr black box video recorder + gps logger

X3000 2.7' 140° Dual Lens dash board camera car dvr black box video recorder + gps logger
  • Video and Audio recording
  • 2.7 "TFT LCD Panel or TV Out, TV Out support NTSC & PAL
  • Dual Lens Camera,1280 x 480 30FPS (2CH Record), 640 x 480 30FPS (1CH Record)
  • Support Memory Card :SDHC Class 64GB ~ 32GB, proprietary file format
  • GPS module support ,G Sensor Support

My requirement for this product was being able to export GPS tracking logs and the HD camera. Honestly, having two cameras was a bonus.

Good:

1. This product was very easy to use and install. It will start when it senses power on and will automatically shut down after power-off. Minor issue was the device initially powered on with Russian as its default language, so there was some difficulty in understanding the on-screen dialogs.

2. The proprietary program does a good job of exporting the videos and a Google Earth KML file of the track logs.

3. The fields of view are quite wide and clear at the edges.

Bad:

1. The proprietary viewer program is the real downfall of this device, especially as exporting is the requirement. The camera will format the SD card and then install the viewer program onto the card, which will then allow viewing the files. However, the program requires a minimum 4 GB card and will format it with a hidden partition, which is where all of the data is stored. Thus, the proprietary program is the only way to get to the data.

2. The micro SD form factor is difficult to find suitable cards locally and even harder to keep track of.

3. There are two cameras on this unit, one facing forward and one facing the interior of the car. Each captures a 640x480 image and this device is "HD" only in the sense that both images displayed together make it HD. Thus, the saved, exported output is only an AVI file with its own manipulation problems.

Improvements / Wish List:

1. Get rid of the proprietary program and allow generic output formats.

2. Improve the GPS system such that an external antenna is no longer required. This is problematic in final installation with hiding the cable.

Bottom line:

I would recommend this device, given it limitations, and rate it at only three stars because of that proprietary program limitation. Otherwise, the device meets my requirements.

Cheers!!

Does what it is intended for.

Proprietary viewing interface.

For the price, it's adequate.

Why are 6 more words required ?

Adding to the last review, I figured a way to extract the video files off the SD card. The video files are AVI and stored in a "unseeable" partition that windows will not display. Using a free file recovery software ( I used TestDisk ), I was able to pull all the videos off the disk. The are stored in 2min blocks, with numbering that increases.

Overeall this unit works great for what I need it for. The windshield suction cup mount is huge and in my opinion, is a vision impairment so Im working on a "homemade" mount that will put it up by the rear-view mirror and out of the way.

XtremeMac IPU-IH2-11 InCharge Home for iPhone/iPod/iPad

XtremeMac IPU-IH2-11 InCharge Home for iPhone/iPod/iPad
  • This compact wall charger includes dual USB ports each with 2.1 amps for fast charging and a 30 pin to USB cable.
  • It also features a low profile design that allows access to a second outlet for convenience.

After trying endlessly to find an official iPad charger amongst all the Chinese knock offs on Amazon, I decided to see what the other manufacturers had to offer. Turns out, this is way better than the Apple one for me. Dual 2.1 amp chargers allows me to charge my iPad and my Droid or a second iPad at the same time without any issue. It's also very thin so there's not much of a gap behind my dresser where the power plug is. I love the fact that it comes with a usb cable, so I didn't need to buy one of those too. Couldn't be happier with this thing. The item listing says Memorex but the brand on the package is Xtrememac.

One of the few dual-USB chargers to actually output enough power for my devices. Most dual-port wall chargers SAY 1A per port, but actually do 1A total.

This guy works like a charm!

I bought this about 6 weeks ago, specifically to be able to charge my IPhone 4S and IPad 2 with one charger at the same time. It was the only such device I could find. The iPads unique voltage requirement makes many other USB chargers useless. So two days ago, I received my new IPad and wondered if it would work as well. I plugged it in and saw the dreaded " not charging" message. As it was the weekend, I decided to just leave it on over night to see if it would charge anyway. The next morning, the IPad was fully charged. That has worked two nights in a row. Not sure why, but it " just works". Yea!

iPhone 3G/3GS and iPod Car Charger 12V DC - Banana Shape

iPhone 3G/3GS and iPod Car Charger 12V DC - Banana ShapeI bought this car charger because, like everyone else, I thought that a car charger was just a car charger straight across the board. Well, I was wrong. This car charger worked like a charm for the first 2 months and then one day just STOPPED WORKING! I bought it for a few pennies, so I shouldn't have expected it to work for as long as it did, but I figured it wouldn't be so poorly made.

All in all, if you're looking for a quick fix for cheap without durability, get this and the dozens other on Amazon like it. If you want something durable and dependable that's going to last a long time, go to the Apple store and buy something a little more expensive.

This product will not charge my iPhone as advertised. Don't waste your time and money even if it is inexpensive.

The charger is loose within the charging socket in my car and easily falls out. Additionally, it does not work with my case (an Otterbox). Still, it's just a few dollars, so I guess you get what you pay for.

NOCO BLSOLAR2 Battery Life+ Black 2.5W Solar Battery Charger and Maintainer

NOCO BLSOLAR2 Battery Life+ Black 2.5W Solar Battery Charger and MaintainerI have been looking for a cheap and easy way to keep a charge in my Jeep Cherokee's battery since it is a secondary vehicle and not driven very often. The NOCO 5W Solar Battery charger seems to have fit that bill. The battery charger seems to keep the battery charged even on these cloudy wintery days in Michigan. The instructions for use were pretty straight forward. So far the charger seems to be doing a very good job.

Reading some of the other reviews, I'm not sure if people realize how little power this solar charger puts out. If you look at a standard plug-in battery charger, they typically have a "high" setting of 8 or 10 amps, often a "trickle charge" setting of 2 amps, and sometimes a short-term "boost" setting of 50 amps. This solar panel is claimed to put out 180 milliamps, which is 0.18 amps, or about 1/6th of one amp. You are not going to be jump-starting your car on the spot, or lighting your cabin all night off this solar charger.

The manufacturer intends it just as a battery maintainer, to counter the gradual loss of charge that batteries experience when sitting unused. So long as you understand that limitation, it appears to be a fine product. The housing seems sturdy, and the wires or cables provided are decent quality. I'm thinking to mount mine somehow on my garage wall to maintain my motorcycle battery since that is something I do not drive every day. Perhaps by maintaining the charge in this fashion I can get away without bringing the battery indoors during the winter, since it is normally only discharged batteries that are in danger of freezing -which can cause internal shorts.

I remember how much tiny solar cells cost at Radio Shack back in the 1970's... although this is too small to provide primary power for more than maybe a single low-drain device, it sure is cool to get something like this to play around with.

------------

Edited to note that these solar chargers come in 2 sizes, and Amazon is now unwisely mixing the reviews for related but different products together. My review here was regarding the smaller version, which is probably best limited to motorcycle batteries. If you are trying to maintain charge on larger car batteries, the larger 5 watt version would be a much better bet.

Buy NOCO BLSOLAR2 Battery Life+ Black 2.5W Solar Battery Charger and Maintainer Now

I was very pleasantly surprised how high quality this solar panel and all of the included accessories were. I have had a few other solar panels in the past and they don't even come close to comparing to the quality and design of this one. I put this panel in the windshield of my old truck using the included suction cups and it feels very secure. I love how slim the panel is and how the cable runs cleanly out the back. In addition, the quick connect cables are awesome and make attaching the right accessory easy.

This panel is the perfect size to keep a standard automotive battery topped off. In the past I have left my truck un-driven for a few months at a time and come back to dead battery. This panel provides enough current to counteract the natural drain of a battery, which is all I really need. I will buying more for some of my other equipment and I highly recommend this solar charger.

We found this came in very handy at campgrounds that had no electric hookup and also one that had problems with the power going out. We could keep the battery in the R.V. charged for a long time and just run the generator a little while at night if we needed the air conditioner or fans running. I plan to purchase one for the cars so I can keep this one in the R.V. at all times. Even if you don't plan to 'rustic camp', it is great to have on hand. It was a life saver when hubby had his tractor out in a muddy area of field and it wouldn't start. This made it so much easier to get it started again. I also love the safety features that protect against overheating and over current. These features are very important in my opinion, as well as being weather resistant for rainy days.

Want NOCO BLSOLAR2 Battery Life+ Black 2.5W Solar Battery Charger and Maintainer Discount?

I purchased this device a while back and waited to write a review so I could test this and see how well it works. I have to say that the Noco solar battery charger is the perfect solution for my motorcycle and buddies jet skis. We both don't ride that often but when we actually want to it seems we always have issues with the batteries. Not anymore, since using Noco's solar panel we have yet to have a dead battery. We don't have room to put these in the garage so running an extension cord out to them is a real hassle. That's where the convenience of having this solar panel comes in, not only can you place the panel in a wide arrangement of places but the long extension cord makes it even more portable. No more long extension cords and mess, Noco's solar panel is the answer for anyone looking an easy and portable way to recharge your battery.

The clamps and wires of the unit are high quality (much better than expected) as well as the construction of the solar panel itself. I could not have found a more perfect solution to charging my batteries.

I just recently bought the Noco's smaller solar panel for my brother who is an avid camper and has been searching for something to keep his gadgets charged while he is away.

Yamaha EF1000iS 1,000 Watt 50cc OHV 4-Stroke Gas Powered Portable Inverter Generator (CARB Complian

Yamaha EF1000iS 1,000 Watt 50cc OHV 4-Stroke Gas Powered Portable Inverter GeneratorI've used these with friends camping and been absolutely amazed. This model has a number of positives about it. Yamaha has produced small, reliable generators for over 15 years.

My big plusses:

1 REALLY quiet. The engine drives basically just an alternator and produces about 12V, though it varries. When there is a small load on the generator (typical of most camping / outdoor uses) it slows down the engine. This not only makes it quiet, it cuts back on fumes, and saves gas. A tank filling can last half a day easily depending on demand.

2 clean power. Because the alternator is outputting a DC voltage into a sinewave inverter your 110 VAC is comming from one of the best sources. I use inverters in many of my service vehicles, right at 1000W, and have found no situation where that was not enough power. Since the inverter tells the throttle how much power it needs, wasted noise and gas are eliminated. Basically it does not feel like the old 5000W genset on wheels.

3 light weight. Compared to taking the 5000W generator camping, the small size and light weight are a welcome change.

4 very small gasoline consumption. Unless you are running the full 1000W all the time you'll get great mileage. If you do need to run 1000W all the time, consider a larger digital inverter genset. Honda makes a 2000W which can be joined to a second 2000W for 4000 total if I recall.

5 well built engine. Although only 50cc, it has overhead valves and excellent sound isolation.

Cons:

It's not going to run EVERYTHING in your RV at the same time. If you are watching the plasma TV (400W) and turn on the microwave (1000W) the generator will shut down due to the 1400W load. Consider your loads and if you must run everything simultaneously.

Heavy loads make it spin faster and thus change the acoustic tone of the exhaust. If it's within hearing range and you turn alot of stuff on/off the noise may irritate some people.

Pros:

Put a 100 foot extension cord between you and the generator and you'll be saying "what generator" as the lights and appliances work fine for 12+ hours. It's that quiet.

1000W is enough to run your vehicle's battery charger, a good size TV, and small cooking appliances, just not at the same time. Consider the kill-a-watt wattmeter to know EXACTLY what your load is P3 International P4460 Kill A Watt EZ Electricity Usage Monitor

The previous review on this generator is correct. It is quiet and it is a very good gas saver. We use our generator for a 250 watt average load. With that load, the economy saver feature on this generator allows its 0.6 gallon tank to last a little over 12 hours!!

It is extremely quiet, just slightly louder than that of a good refridgerator.

Why the 4-star rating?

The Yamaha website doesn't appear to be too up-to-date on Yamaha Generator Service Shops. When we got our generator, it had a bad seal on it and the oil leaked out. When we looked on the Yamaha website, it showed two dealers in our area that fixed these generators. Neither one would take it. They said they stopped working on generators. I ended up having to drive over to the next town where the dealer told me that most dealers do not like to take generators unless they sold it to you themselves.

So, while I got lucky and found someone that would take it. Just be aware that you might not be so lucky. Before buying, call the dealers on the Yamaha website and ask them if they can fix a generator for you. Then you will have a better idea of what situation you are in before you buy.

I wanted a smaller generator than the one built into my RV to save on gas and operate quieter. this little yamaha did the trick. I use a 50 foot extension cord and run it to my rv through the window. It can power my computer, battery chargers, and small appliances on its quiet, low power setting. I barely hear when it is running on low power if it is 50 feet from the RV. Uses only 1/2 gallon of gas if i run it all day. but you do need to go to a local Yamaha dealer and get the proper oil. make sure you read the instructions for this or you will burn out the motor.

I love the size of this unit, perfect for my VW Vanagon camper.

I can't run a portlable AC unit as it doesn't have enough power output.

The oil filler dish is an interesting piece of equipment, it works.

Its a little louder than I had hoped for.

I'm in CT and lost power for 8 days last year. I vowed never to live in colonial times again and bought this generator just to run a pellet stove and a few lights when the power goes out. I was extremely happy when my Yamaha 1000is arrived two days early, just in time for hurricane Sandie. Of course now that I have a generator we didn't lose power. I added oil and fired it up to get ready for the storm. It started on the 5th pull right out of the box, and one pull after that. It is quiet, but still loader than I expected. Then again the Hondas I have heard were at a little distance so I might be expecting too much. Get a 50 foot cord and you won't hear it. It ran my pellet stove using manual ignition with no problem, about 500W. In econ mode it varies the speed when the feed motor kicks in like it should. For fun I disconnected the stove and ran a small microwave on it, about 850W. It stumbled but didn't kick out. Probably should not run econ mode with heavy loads, but it did take the load. It won't run your whole house, but manage your loads and this generator does the job on a minimal amount of gas which gets hard to come by when there is no power. Its small size makes it easy to store too. My Yammie is now drained of gas and sleeping in its box waiting for the next outage. My neighbors can't believe we didn't lose power during Sandie. I smile, because I know the reason we didn't lose power is because I bought this generator and that we will never ever lose power again. Lucky I camp so I can use the generator in the summer.
