All Channel Wireless Handsfree FM Transmitter + Car Adapter Charger for Apple Products (iPhone 3G/4

All Channel Wireless Handsfree FM Transmitter + Car Adapter Charger for Apple Products - Also charges your device while playing over FM
  • Back-light LCD screen for you to read the FM frequency;
  • Full frequency range design effectively avoids interruption;
  • Works with any FM radio including car radios, home radios and portable ones.
  • This unit charges your device when connected to the CAR Charger adapter
  • Connects to iPhone/iPod Touch or any other iPod model.

I just got this yesterday, 10/21/11, and I must say I'm pretty darn impressed for just $12.95. It is not awesome, still a bit of static. BUT, on the right station (in my area) I barely hear any static even when I'm jamming pretty loudly. So, I give it a FOUR STAR. Smack dab in between the first two reviews so far. The only reason I tried this is because of the price AND the first review of FIVE STARS. Then, before I got mine, a second review popped up at THREE STARS. I'm happier than 3 and not as impressed as the 5. I do recommend this quite highly simply because of the price. Darn FM tuners are so difficult to gauge. Even a very highly recommended tuner on ilounge.com did not get the best reviews here on amazon. So, go figure. Best of luck to you who follow my advice. My tuner is set at the lowest frequency of 87.7 I believe, and it sounds pretty sharp. Give it a try. For the price, I don't think you can go wrong!

It was easy to carry and worked surprisingly well for a price. But its built quality is horribly flimsy. It stopped working after couple of months...

Want All Channel Wireless Handsfree FM Transmitter + Car Adapter Charger for Apple Products (iPhone 3G/4 Discount?

It might be just my Ipod touch's case, but this charger doesn't have a very long connector to plug into the ipod. I have to take my ipod out of the case (which isn't very thick) in order to use this. It also feels like it is very flimsy when you plug it into the ipod so I have to make sure it is laying down flat when I use it so the connection stays tight. I like it for the price, but I am definitely not in LOVE with it.

If an FM transmitter is your only option, I recommend this product. It's significantly easier to use than the other brands I've tried. The sound quality is decent, though not nearly as good as the transmitters that work through a cassette deck.

PowerStation PSX-2 Rugged Hi-Power 1000 Peak Amp Hi-Current EHP Battery Jumpstarter with Hi-Volume

PowerStation PSX-2 Rugged Hi-Power 1000 Peak Amp Hi-Current EHP Battery Jumpstarter with Hi-Volume Air Compressor, LED Worklight & 12V DC Power SourceI just bought this unit. First off I would like to point out. Most of the users that are not satisfied with this unit should read the instructions. And you can spend a lot of money on a name brand battery booster. Most of them do not last more than a couple of years (Keep it charged and you might get 3 years). You are talking about a rechargeable battery. I am in the industry and you can pay 150 for a unit it will last the same amount of time.

This unit has a internal charger and it is a float charger, that means you can leave this unit plugged up all the time. Matter of fact if you read the instructions. It tells you to leave it plugged up all the time to keep the charge going. This will make your unit last much longer also. Never never let a rechargeable battery go dead and stay dead for a period of time. This will definitely kill the battery and it will not take a charge. It's the same method with your rechargeable batteries on a drill whether they are lithium or whatever. Never never let a battery go completely dead for a period of time.

For 69.00 dollars at Costco you can't beat that deal (this is for home use and recreational not for being used in a shop). I have purchased Schumacher battery boosters before and they last just as long a couple of years and they cost much more. If you want one for a shop, try the Solar E2500 or E5000, they cost about 130.00 to 180.00 and they will only last maybe a couple of years on the rechargeable battery, but are heavy duty for a shop or even a Clore battery booster for about 300.00 plus and that will last you about 3 to 4 years.

I have not tried the jumper yet. But like any jumper, most will not start a totally dead or defective battery. Some jumpers need some voltage in a battery to get it to activate, not sure about this one yet. But it has saved me when my cell phone died a couple of times, me being a knucklehead and forgetting to charge my phone. I have not used the compressor on car tires yet, but I have used it on my grandkids basketball and it was fast. Also the light is bright, would like for it to have been more flexible but, Its ok. Overall, excellent Unit so far for what I paid for and the purpose of this unit.

First let's clear the air, this is not a commercial unit and as such is not built for banging around but will generally last almost if not as long as a commercial unit. Even commercial unit batteries eventually die and must be replaced.

Air compressor I do not recommend using it as your primary air source. This is for emergency air or occasional use only, not to inflate your air mattresses, large items and to top off your leaky tire on a daily basis, get it repaired! I have used it to add air while on the road but it is loud and takes some time, it has a tiny air compressor inside so keep this in mind but it does work. For inflating large volume, low pressure thing go and buy a compressor made for that purpose, you'll be much happier.

Worklight Fairly bright, easy to use switch on the front BUT since it's fixed you have to wrangle the unit around to make it useful, would have been better to have a retractable head but then people would break it and complain about it. Maybe a built in one with a gooseneck or something would be better, not a deal breaker by any means.

12V outlet Works as it should, non issue.

Charging No external adapter to mess with, just plug it into a utility type extension cord and you're done.

Cables Decent quality, fairly heavy duty good clamping and easy to store. Only gripe is they could be longer but are workable and I've been able to jump my vehicles without other issues.

Jump start performance I've had EXCELLENT experience with this unit and bring it with me whenever I go on road trips. I have used this many times and it has more than paid for itself in convenience and speed. It has started even recently dead batteries after hooking it up and waiting a few minutes.

Vehicles it starts

Used/use it many times on an E450 Shuttle bus with a 7.5L V8 which needs a battery replacement but in the mean time the PSX takes care of it as needed.

Ford Expedition 5.4L V8

Dodge Caravan 3.8L V6

Acura Legend 3.2L V6

Ford Aerostar 4.0L V6

Ford Mustang 2.3L 4

Nissan Stanza 2.4 4

Honda Prelude 2.2L 4

It has no problem firing up V6 and 4cyl cars instantly, the big trucks took a couple minutes to waiting because they were pretty dead but they too started up with no problem. I will but another unit when this one fails but I might be able to find a replacement battery for it instead.

I just bought this here last week and I've already used it to pump up a flat tire and jump start a dead battery. It worked flawlessly each time. I was at Costco yesterday and saw it for $79.00.

I recieved the powerstation as a gift about a year and a half ago. It worked great until I went to use it a few days ago. I turned on the compressor by pressing the switch and it would not turn off. The switch got stuck in the on position. It kept running and running until I took the unit apart and pulled the wires to the switch. If someone didnt do this I dont know how long the pump would continue to run, but I view this as a safety hazard. I called the company and they told me unless it was within the 1 year warranty they couldnt do anything. I mentioned the potential safety concern and got no response other than they would replace the unit if it was still under the 1 year warranty period. I get it, but be warned the switch may not turn off one day. I can only hope to find a replacement switch at a local electronics store. I guess the manufacturer doesnt belive in feedback and / or product improvements.

Coleman Cable 08660 Heavy-Duty 4-Gauge Auto Battery Booster Cables with Polar Glo-Watt Clamps (20 F

Coleman Cable 08660 Heavy-Duty 4-Gauge Auto Battery Booster Cables with Polar Glo-Watt ClampsI purchased these cables based solely on internet research. Coleman seems to be a well respected company. After inspecting the 08660 twenty foot long four gauge cables, I am satisfied with my purchase. The materials appear to be of good quality, and the clamp design is intuitive. There is a top of page review dated September 14th 2006 by Privacy Advocate titled "Slight disappointment" in which he describes his concern about the clamps having only one side of the jaw plated with copper. This actually is an intelligent design. The copper cable is connected to only one jaw (the jaw that is copper plated for increased conductivity). Copper plating the non-connected jaw would be counter productive. I recommend purchasing a minimum length of twenty feet, a minimum of four gauge cable, and clamps rated a minimum of 500 amps. The length is recommended because you may not always be able to place a boost vehicle nose to nose or side by side. The gauge and amps are particularly important if you live in a cold climate. Check the vehicle OEM battery specifications regarding cold cranking amps (CCA) for a clear understanding of why gauge and amps are important.

For the price and in the right situations these are good cables. Good length, good ga. wire and copper connectors. But for me where they fall short is at the clamps and this type of clamp seems to be on MANY cables available today. I could not see it in the photos but the clamps are uneven at the ends because of the extra notch the manufacturer adds on one side to make it easier to connect to side terminal batteries. Also there are NO teeth on the end of the jaws so you HAVE to make your connection using the teeth on the sides of the jaws. This does not sound like a big deal until you are in a tight situation and have to clamp onto a top post battery straight down, then you have an uneven clamp end and no teeth to grip the post. I happen to also have a car (a domestic) with a remote mounted battery, not a HOT ROD or modified car, just a stock factory production car where the manufacturer could not fit the battery under the hood for space saving and design reasons and put it elsewhere in the car. Remote batteries used to be a rare thing on mostly European cars but it is fairly common now on all makes of cars. With the battery not under the hood or in the trunk I have a Pos. and Neg. lug under the hood at the end of battery cables to jump the car with. The Pos. lug is surrounded by plastic in a depression to prevent anything from accidentally hitting it and shorting. Because of this there is little room and I can not get the side of these jumper cable clamps to grab the lug, I need teeth on the end of the jaws to grip the Pos. lug. I'm returning these cables and for $15 more (on sale) than the price of these cables I got the same length, the same 4 ga. wire, clamps with teeth on all 3 sides, even jaw ends, a side terminal connection in the jaws, and they came with a hard plastic storage case, safety glasses and gloves. After shopping around for a week I found this is a great deal. I shopped all over the Net and in my local stores comparing prices wire length, size, and end clamps. There are many great items for great prices at Amazon but if you need what I need in a jumper cable go to your local SEARS.

Buy Coleman Cable 08660 Heavy-Duty 4-Gauge Auto Battery Booster Cables with Polar Glo-Watt Clamps (20 F Now

These cables are made with aluminum wire which has been tarted-up with a copper coating. The jaws are steel, also deceptively copper plated. The insulation on the wire is some cheesy substance that I suspect will crack and fall off within a few years. I would rate these three stars if they were sold as what they were, instead of pretending to a quality that they don't possess. If you need a long set of jumper cables that will start your car, and you don't expect them to last too long, these will probably do the job for you. If you expect quality components and a lifetime of service from the tools you buy, keep looking.

Read Best Reviews of Coleman Cable 08660 Heavy-Duty 4-Gauge Auto Battery Booster Cables with Polar Glo-Watt Clamps (20 F Here

The cables are made in the USA, which is great, but they are not copper cables. They are the much cheaper "copper clad aluminum" cables that are of much lower quality. The product description states, "Extra Heavy-Duty" and "the strongest consumer grade available", which CCA is not. I need the jumper cables for emergency use only so they hopefully won't be used much. If you need to unroll and roll up the cables often look for copper cable, not this product. This kind of information should have been in the product description, but then if it was, I wouldn't have made this purchase.

This 16 ft. Coleman jumper cable is a 4 gauge cable which is a mechanic's grade. It is durable and will last a long time. The length ensures that you will be able to utilize this tool without worry, the clamps glow in the dark and fit both side post and top post batteries. It comes with a lifetime warranty and I am very glad that I bought it.

GSI Super Quality FM Transmitter/Modulator with Car Charger Kit - USB Charging Port - LCD Display

GSI Super Quality FM Transmitter/Modulator with Car Charger Kit - USB Charging Port - LCD Display
  • High Powered FM Transmitter - Plays Music from Car Speakers
  • USB Interface - Reads and Plays MP3-WMA Music Files from your Favorite Audio Device
  • LED Screen Display - Charge Mobile Phones and Bluetooth Devices with USB Cable
  • Powered by Cigarette Lighter In-Car, or with 2 AAA Batteries Outside of Car (Batteries Not Included)
  • Customizable FM band frequency settings, 200 Channels, PSL technology to optimize audio transmission

Over the years, I have tried various wireless FM transmitters. The performance was limited due to 4 or less FM bands that the devices could be set to. I found this GSI model to be the best one I have ever used. It can be set to a range of anywhere between 87.50 and 108MHz. It has an auto shut-off if there is no sound input. It can be plugged into the cigarette lighter which saves the batteries. Most of all, it has the best sound that I have ever gotten from an FM transmitter.

There are a lot of bad reviews on this item. I decided to get it any way as the price was less than a burger and fries so was worth the risk and I didn't need anything fancy.

Either the negative reviewers got a bad one or the device has been upgraded. I have used it several days and I'm am very impressed with how well it works. It has the power to play over existing radio stations and the quality is not bad at all to me. I listen to Pandora from my smart phone.

I have some suggestions for some of the problems that people have said.

The Cig lighter plug only works if the batteries are out of the device.

The device will shut itself off if there is no audio playing.

I'm happy enough to order 3 more for my other cars. (kids cars)

I hope this helps.

For the money this transmiter is okay if you are listening to music. If you are listening to Podcasts or other spoken recordings it does not work as well. I listen to a lot of sermons and other Christian radio broadcasts downloaded off of Itunes. When listening to a spoken program the there is an iritaing hum or ringing type noise. I am considering buying another transmiter by soundfly from Amazon.

For $10 though this transmiter is not a bad buy especially if you are going to listening primarilly to music.

I've used this almost every day for 6 months and it works great. I'm ordering another one for my other car.

FSP iON C2200 PB4 Power Pack Dual USB Charger battery extender for iPods, iPhones, Smart Phones and moreI got 2 of these for my Diamond MP700 media player, which I use on road trips with a portable TV. I can watch 3 full length movies when I parallel these to my player (with hdd plugged into it). The TV uses its own battery, and runs out of juice before the player/hdd does! Easy to recharge with a USB car lighter adapter and easy to use... That's what a battery should be.

"DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE" I bought one charged it up and when I tried to use it with my iphone it nearly destroyed it. There was a pop sound when I plugged my phone in and the device went DEAD along with my phone. After a few hours my phone started working again but it is not worth the risk in my opinion. I have also not been unable to contact the company, I have sent several e-mails with no response.

Cellet Micro USB Retractable Car Charger for Samsung, HTC, Motorola, LG, Pantech, Nokia, Blackberry

Cellet Micro USB Retractable Car Charger for Samsung, HTC, Motorola, LG, Pantech, Nokia, Blackberry, and other Compatible SmartphonesI ordered two of them and they both work fine. My only complaint is they are packaged with the cord partially extended. This puts a kink in the cord which keeps it from retracting fully until it straightens out.

I tried using this to charge my Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket. It charged my phone as long as I wasn't using it. But as soon as I used the Navigation software, my power started draining. The charger wasn't even able to keep the battery charge level.

I bought this for use with my Samsung Galaxy S Captivate phone, although it should work with any phone that charges via micro-usb (most Android phones do).

So far, I'm very pleased with it. The retracting system has not failed once, and is activated by simply pushing a button. As soon as you push it, the cable flies into the charger surprisingly quickly.

I like this product. It arrived without a kink in the wire and has worked good since I have been using it. The only thing I am not excited about is the charger gets very warm when it is in use.

Garmin Vehicle DC Power Adapter for eTrex and Geko (010-10203-00)

Garmin Vehicle DC Power Adapter for eTrex and Geko
  • Plugs into any standard cigarette lighter
  • compatible with eTrex Camo®, eTrex Legend®, eTrex Legend® H, eTrex Summit®, eTrex Venture®, eTrex Vista®, eTrex Vista® H, Geko 201 and Geko 301
  • Conserves battery life
  • Convenient and easy to use
  • Genuine Garmin-quality product

Although the eTrexes were really designed for use in the outdoors, I use it in the car to help predict distance to go, etc., and if I have the local map downloaded to it, it has helped me out of binds on a couple of occasions. If you use it in the car, you really want this adaptor to save your batteries.

Not only will it save the batteries, but I can operate my Legend in normal mode to get better position from the WAAS data. (Battery saver mode precludes the use of WAAS and normal mode can really drain the batteries rather quickly.) (BTW, there is no scientific reason for reception to be better because of using this adapter.)

The cord is generously long. In fact, it can get in the way sometimes, but may allow the unit to be passed to the back seat so your back seat navigator can monitor it.

I have only two minor complaints. The first is the price. The Garmin Legend gives a lot of feature for the price, but Garmin seems to make up for it with the price of the accessories. It seems this adaptor should cost half what it does.

The second is that the fuse is accessed by screwing off the center of the cigarette plug, and the center piece has unscrewed itself on a couple of occasions now, leaving several small parts strewn about. I had to dig in my glove compartment this weekend for all of the little parts, and am waiting for the day I lose one for good. So be careful that the center is always screwed in.

I use this with the suction cup mount, which works quite well on glass. (But again, seems kind of expensive for what it is.)

This product is a must if you use your GPS in your car. It will save you many, many batteries. I like the quality. It feels solid. The LED on the lighter plug is useful. It indicates that you have power. The piece that snaps into the eTrex seems to connect well. It's never come unplugged after rolling around in my truck. The cord is plenty long for my needs--about four feet. My only complaint is the cost. The price was a little more than I would liked to have spent, but it's the only game in town.

All I require of this cable is that it plug easily into both my car and my Garmin Venture and then power my Venture. It does that swimmingly, just as it should.

The only aggravation has nothing to do with the cable: when you remove the cable, the Garmin will power down unless you hit a button telling it not to. I would often have the GPS hooked up in the car, get to the parking spot, then remove the cable in order to go and and get to the geocache. At which point the GPS would turn off (because I'd forget about the power down), and I'd have to wait around for the satellites to be found again.

I'm sure this thing works fine on some GPS units... but it's less than clear that this adaper WILL NOT WORK on the Legend or Vista. The title is misleading (it says "most" eTrex), the Product Description is just wrong (it says "all" eTrex). FOR The eTrex LEGEND or VISTA, you need a different adapter!!

This adapter is functional, is easy to use, enables continued use of backlight, and saves the batteries for walking with the eMap after arriving in a strange town. When I want to connect other media while driving with my family, I use a 12v 3-Outlet Car Power Adapter. Despite another wire, it's a worthwhile accessory.

PowerTraveller PowerMonkey eXplorer Blue Portable Solar Charger for Mobile Phones, iPods, PDAs and etc.Purchased this product for my wife for Christmas. She travels a lot and has a terrible time finding an outlet to charge her phone at the airport. So far so good, the little device works great and we love the size. We hike and backpack so we chose the unit with the solar charger though she'll use the AC charge most of the time. The only complaint was the storage pouch. We opted for a hard sided case which was smaller and easier to pack. Make the storage pouch hardier and this unit would be perfect. BTW, check out my review on the TekFuel MD, I purchased it first. I received this as a gift and I have to say this is prob the best gift I ever received. I bought a used car a year ago and after I bought it I realized that where they installed the cd player they had to take out the cigarette lighter/car charging station. You wouldn't think you'd need this for so much. I couldn't use my GPS for long trips, if my cell died I had to wait till I got home, and my MP3 player was a big no-no since it used a lot of battery life. This little thing charges all of that plus my childrens 3ds and PSP. I even use it in my house to save on the electric bill. It might not be a big money saver but it does help and I figure if I'm ever lost or stuck on a deserted island my MP3 player will always be charged.

DuroMax XP10000E 10,000 Watt 16 HP OHV 4-Cycle Gas Powered Portable Generator With Wheel Kit And El

DuroMax XP10000E 10,000 Watt 16 HP OHV 4-Cycle Gas Powered Portable Generator With Wheel Kit And Electric StartI was apprehensive about buying this generator because they don't have a network of service centers... they tell you to take it to any small engine shop near you and contact them about charges under warranty. I called their cust svc and talked with them about the need for third party verification regarding parts needed and they assured me none was required.. I could fix it myself if I wanted.. just call them and tell them what I needed and they'd send it out. That seemed fair enough. It took a little over a week to get mine and it was delivered by USF Holland freight and arrived in pristine condition.. hats off to Holland. I got the liftgate delivery and he backed that big semi right up to my garage door...took his hand truck and set the small skid it was banded to in the center of my garage.. he required no help.. I never touched it until he was gone. These come packed in a cardboard carton and the packaging is well engineered.. thick foam all sides.. top and bottom.. all loose parts.. wheel kit.. etc.. in their own little nook in the foam. It is very heavy but you can get it assembled and off the skid working alone.. I did and I'm 62 yrs old. I pulled the front until it overhung the skid about 10" and assembled the wheel kit then pivoted one side of the rear until it overhung and assembled that strut then blocked the rear strut up with a 4x4 and pulled the skid out of the way and assembled the other strut. I filled it with good synthetic blend oil and put about a gallon of gas in it. I turned the fuel valve on.. it's located a few inches to the right of the choke handle. I pulled the choke handle all the way out and tried to start it with the key... the battery was totally dead. I pulled it out and put it on the charger and stuck the battery outa my lawn tractor in it and tried to start it. It was running almost before I could let go of the key. These Powermax units all have an idle control on them so there's no speed adjustments of any kind possible and none needed. It idles very fast.. all generators do.. they have to to produce current. It ran smooth with no fluctuating noticeable in engine speed. Next I took my voltmeter and checked the output on all the current-carrying poles on all the receptacles. I got a steady 119 volts everywhere. With a target of 120 I considered this to be excellent.. my house current won't hold that. The reason I bought this big unit in the first place was I had hoped it would start and run my big window air conditioner... it is huge.. 30k btu's. I plugged the extension cord I had bought into the L14-30 240v receptacle on the generator and ran it inside the house and plugged up the conversion cord I'd made going to the 6-30 plug on the air conditioner and turned it on. It fired right up with no bogging down and I never noticed the engine on the genny pick up at all. I let it run about a half hour... let the compressor on the air conditioner cycle off and on many times and watched the voltmeter on the genny. It never moved.. engine really never picked up speed either so this generator runs that big air conditioner without any strain on it at all.. I was VERY relieved. The other things I plan to run during an outage won't even approach the surge requirements of that big air conditioner so that issue was put to rest. It turned out that the battery in mine was no good.. wouldn't hold a charge even a half hour. I called MaxTool and told them and true to their word there was no hassle.. they sent me a brand new battery and shipped it FexEx at no charge. I wondered if maybe I had been sent a generator that had been sitting in inventory a year or so but no.. the data tag on it shows a MFG date of May 2007.. I bought it in late August so I got a brand new one.. just had a bad battery. I tried the pull start several times and it always starts on one pull. I go out about once every two weeks and start it and let it run awhile to get oil thru it good.. keep a maintenance trickle charger on it all the time. I can't speak to what it will do over time but outa the box it's everything it was promised to be.. I love it so far. I almost bought a Coleman but those units got horrible reviews.. rampant with quality issues.. leaking gas all over.. horrible vibration issues.. etc.. also they have no idle control and most no electric start and are overpriced terribly. I'm glad I bought this Powermax... couldn't be happier at this point.. good luck to you.

Received Item as promised, great generator, easy to assemble, at 72 I had it ready to rock and roll in about 2 hour. Packaging was above average and with tailgate delivery I never had to touch the unit until after the driver left. Filled with oil and gas, turn on the gas valve and away it went. I back fed my main panel, hit the transfer switch and powered my whole house

with hardly any surge in the generator. Perfect for the backup I wanted. Used 50a 4 wire plug, 4/c #8 cord.

I purchased the unit in October 2008 and had the first call to service in late January 2009 when ice and show caused wide spread, multi-day power outages. At first operation I discovered that the 50 amp receptacle on the generator was broken internally and as a result power surges were sent into the house. I quickly disconnected and an electrician discovered the broken receptacle ... totally cracked. He replaced it (in freezing ice and snow) and then everything worked fine. We went for three days with generator power. Never an problem after the intial surprise.

But the real motivation for this remark is the great customer service from Amazon. PowerMax gave me the standard, "we only replace the faulty part and you should have called us." No way was I going to freeze my family while I waited for their mail service part delivery. However, when I told this story to Amazon, they offered to totally reimburse me for the cost of the repair, parts and labor, with no hassle.

The generator worked great with long hours of continuous running. And the positive Amazon customer service attitude was the confirmation that I had purchaeed a good generator (after my repair) with superb customer service backup. John Reade, Lancaster, Ohio.

I bought this item from another retailer for $150 less than Amazon. Great price for a 8,000 watt generator. This unit has a 50 amp plug, which is great. Electric start worked perfect. My only complaints are 1) the legs and battery connection are located in a very hard to reach spot. It took me perhaps 1 hour just to attach the legs and the negative battery terminal. Maybe it's just me. And 2) the handles look like they may bend or fail after a while of usage. But aside from those, the generator was packed nicely, no damage whatsoever. All parts intact and no leaks. Started instantly with the electric starter. Runs reasonably quiet, only a bit louder than my 4000 ETQ generator, which is 1/2 the size. I am looking forward to connecting this to the house via a transfer switch. I should be able to run a bit less than 1/2 the house, which will be plenty in the event of an outage.

Edited 12/2010:

I had a transfer switch installed on the house. When I went to test out the generator with the transfer switch, I noticed that the 50 amp receptacle on the generator was broken, and the plug would not connect. I called Duromax customer service (MaxTool), and was told to call another number. This number would always go to voicemail. I left 3 messages, and spoke to another person, and they just told me to leave another message. I never heard back from MaxTool. My feeling is that they knew this would require a replacement of the generator, and just did not want to deal with it. Fortunately for me, the part was only $6.00 at the local home improvement retailer, and I am relatively mechanically/electrically inclined. I dis-assembled the generator and replaced the recpetacle myself (very difficult, and risky). However, if this was a more expensive part, or something I could not fix myself, I would have just wasted $1,000. I have also noticed that the 'recharge' indicator is always lit, which does not make sense. Another faulty component. After I have fixed the receptacle, it seems to be working fine (except for the 'recharge' lamp).

If I had to buy another generator, I would not by a DuroMax. I feel that there is greater than 50% chance of a part being broken upon delivery, and if it's something critical, I don't trust MaxTool customer service to stand behind this product.

We bought this last summer, after being run out of our brand new home with the New England Ice Storms December 2008.

The shipping was AMAZINGthe freight shipper hauled this thing all the way down to our house (we live on a lake), when I expected to meet him up on the main road with my trailer. This beast is HEAVY, make no bones about it, but worth all the hassle of moving it around to assemble it. The packaging is outstanding, with absolutely NO dings or mars on any part of the unit. It even comes with it's own "toolkit" of metric wrenches and multi-screwdriver. It's a cheapie kit, but I've owned motorcycles with junkier kits, so no issue.

I broke in the unit running some different power tools, and tried it out on it's 30-amp connection to power up the AC in our pop-up camper. Absolutely NO issues at all. After an oil change and some "Stabil" in the gas, it was time to wait for the next big "need". We got hit this week with a huge wind storm, which did more damage in my area than the "ice storm of 2008". In total, we've been 5 days without power.

I had the transfer switch set up in early December 0f 2009, so I was cutting it a little close, but when I flipped the whole house transfer switch over, my Wife didn't even notice we had changed power sources. It has it's limitations, but this is what we have:

What it WON'T do:

Electric Stove, Dishwasher, Clothes Dryer. I guess it MIGHT run these, if other loads were minimized, but I wanted more of the "creature" comforts all at once. I was willing to forgo the major power hogs, until the utility power came back on.

What it WILL do:

EVERYTHING else!

Other than having to eat microwave foods, it ran our well pump, fridge, 60 gallon hot water heater, forced air heater, and a humidifier, sometimes at the same time! There will be some small dimming of lights as each of the big loads switch in and out, and the Generator gets a little louder with each heavier load put on, but it ran them all in style! My Wife even snuck in a load of laundry in the washer, and I didn't notice.

At night, where minimal power is used, it quiets down more than any of my neighbor's units, which are all contractor-quality units, with racous "industrial" motors. Having it just outside my bedroom area, I could barely hear it over the air of the forced-air heater when it ran. It ran quieter than my neighbor's unit, 4 houses awayand that had a 16 HP Briggs & Stratton motor. Same size motor, but at least 1/2 (or less) the noise. The ONLY quirk we found is that it seems to be incompatible with digital clocksI know it's SUPPOSED to be a 60-hz unit, but when I scoped the output, it's only putting out about 56 hz. For most any component, it's no big deal. My laptop didn't care a bit about the difference, nor did my TV's or Stereo. It's just the clocks that ran slow. I'm looking into what can be done, if anything, to adjust this, but I don't think it really matters.

I read a comment where someone wasn't happy with fuel consumption, but my experience over these last 5 days have averaged only 5-6 gallons of gas in a 12 hour period, and that was with high nighttime usage, with several baths, and temperatures in the 20's (using the house heater pretty often). I'd fill it up to the top around 8 p.m., and when I re-filled it in the morning around 9 a.m., it would take exactly 5 gallons to top off. Daytime consumption, when it was just me at home sleeping, was like 3 gallons in a 9 hour period.

Maybe different units consume gas at different rates, but I seriously beat the snot out of this thing (in my opinion), and it didn't even quiver. Once I had the house wired up, I just rolled it outside, and after showing once, my Wife and Daughter could start it themselves with NO issues. I may add some swivel-wheels in the front, instead of the "feet" that came with it, as it's a little tough to horse aroundespecially in the mud. On dry land, my wife wouldn't be able to lift the footed end by herself, so I need to do something to make it more "portable" than it already is. Not an issue with the machine, just needing to modify it's ergonomics for our use.

This unit is now $200 more than when I bought it in 2009, but I'd buy it again, for today's pricein a HEARTBEAT. It's STILL the best value out there. I'm going home tonight (power is back on) and rolling it into the garage for a well-deserved bath, oil change and some wax for the shiny finish. This week, it became a member of the family. It just ran for over 120 hours straight, minus fill-ups, and I'm a happy camper.

By the way, this unit comes with every possible electrical connection you could want, as well as the plugs for each. It also has connections (and a nice little wire bundle connector with alligator clips) to charge 12 volt batteries WHILE you're running the rest of the house. This comes in handy, if you are in an all-out "outage", and car batteries become a problem for your household. In brutal winter months, car batteries take a beating too! Last summer I bought a sheet of blue matching neoprene on E-Bay (wet suit material) to make a "rain flap" for the electrical connections, and I'm glad I did. There's a LOT of different electrical connectors hanging out there on the panel, and we got BEAT with sideways, blowing rain. It looks nice, it's cheap, and it keeps things from getting shorted out.

While it's weak in some details (faint, hard-to-read manual, and the fact that its a chinese model) it comes with more features and options than you could ask for, at a very reasonable price.

XW-MPPT60-150 Solar Charge Controller

XW-MPPT60-150 Solar Charge ControllerI needed a solar regulator which could take a 280 watt high voltage input (60v nominal) to charge a 12v battery bank. This unit from Xantrex has worked well for the last year in a marine environment.

One thing to be aware of is that it requires an external power source other than the solar panels. I found this out after a long stretch of cloudy weather. The battery voltage was so low that this charger could no longer operate. When the sun came back out, there wasn't enough power in the batteries to run the charger and so it couldn't recover! I solved this with a bigger battery bank and a low voltage disconnect on our load to prevent the batteries from being depleted to such an extent. It would be nice if the internal circuit could bootstrap itself from either the battery or solar panels.

It would have been nice if the circuit boards were more protected. The unit itself is full of holes, so care must be taken to keep it dry. Previously I have used small potted charge controllers which would probably survive immersion.

Mini Battery Charger Kit for Panasonic CGR-D08, CGR-D16, CGR-D28, & CGR-D54 - with fold-in wall plug, car & EU adaptersI love it because it works fast to charge the battery on my recorder and it takes up less space than my other charger did. I would recommend it.

While such a little thing, it is very nice to have a small, portable device that I can use to charge batteries on location and not bring the bulky charger along. Excellent service, and very quick shipping as well.

I like this product. My favorite part is that the cord retracts, so that way you don't have so many cords in your glove box getting tangled. It does get really hot after each use, so be sure not to burn yourself. :)

GoGo PowerPack 3300 - USB Portable Charger for Mobile Gadgets

GoGo PowerPack 3300 - USB Portable Charger for Mobile GadgetsI bought this charger after first trying one of the Rayovac chargers that you can buy at WalMart for about 18 dollars. This one was slightly more expensive, but advertised greater capacity. With the Rayovac charger, I was only able to gain about 1/3 to 1/2 battery capacity on my HTC Android smart phone. This one is easily able to recharge the same device 2-3 times on a single charge. The only drawback is its size. The charger is about the same size as my phone, but it is relatively slim.

Good high capacity charger for the price.

First off to note, I am not always home to use my default charger with a wall outlet. I did not want to take my wall outlet charger with me to work and end up forgetting it there. This is why I was interested in buying this great set for the awesome price that it is.

The usb data charger cable is great when I am at work using the work computer. I love how quick it recharges my phone when I am at any computer!

When I am driving to places, the car charger does not always respond when my phone is plugged in. I do not know if it is my car, the charger, or my phone itself. The phone will charge depending on the position of my phone. The car charger can be fast to recharge my phone, but again it depends on the position if it can even start charging.

Overall I rely on these chargers work out for me and make my life easier since I am on the go. The USB charger is the one I rely on over the car charger.

Want LG VU PLUS GR700 Combo Rapid Car Charger + USB Data Charge Sync Cable for LG VU PLUS GR700 Discount?

For the price you simply can't go wrong. This is my second car charger (not sure from the same vendor though). Is it a rapid charger? No, not really, but it will do its job. The metal contact pin at the tip of the car charger lost its spring or doesn't want to protrude anymore to make contact (lasted for about 6-7 months of normal use). This is why I bought a second one. The data cable is decent and does the job too. Overall, car charger is a 3star and the data cable is a 4star; therefore the 3.5 star title review.
