Wagan EL2464 200-Watt Power Dome LT Auto Jump Starter

Wagan EL2464 200-Watt Power Dome LT Auto Jump StarterI have owned this unit for about a year. I have used the USB, Inverter, cigarette lighter socket, air pump and flashlight features. So far so good. Well, the other day, my car died and the unit failed to even turn the car over. Then I charged it overnight and again, no luck. Contacted "tech support" that only pointed out that this was my fault, and that I was not using the unit correctly, even though I followed the instructions completely. When I told him that the gauges and dials indicated that the unit was fully charged and connected correctly, he said the gauges were not reliable. NOT RELIABLE! I paid almost $200 after shipping, and I expect it to work! Ask yourself why this unit has gone from $189 to less than $90 within a year.

Buy it and use it for the "side functions" but don't rely on it to jump your car. Buy some premium jumper cables for this price!

I was extremely satisfied with the 400 watt power dome I purchased. So I bought this Power Dome LT for my daughter's birthday and she loves it too! She always keeps her electronics charged and ready to go. She uses the USB power port for her digital camera and MP3 player. Plus the AC and DC outlets power her cell phone and other appliances.

Her Power Dome LT weighs a few pounds less than mine so she can carry it around easily. She keeps it in her trunk in case of an emergency. If she ever has car trouble, I know she is prepared to jumpstart the car or inflate a tire. The LED lights are a nice feature too. I have peace of mind knowing she is ok when she is away from home.

This is a great product for the money. The pump is relatively fast, the inverter works well. Has a great charge indicator gauge. Make sure you have the master switch off while charging. Charge it 48 hours the first time. Periodically charge it once every 3 months. There isn't a good place to sy=tore the AC adapter, or 12 charging cord. It comes with adapters to inflate your basketball, or other items.

I have the older version of this device that I bought a few years ago. I tried pumping up a car tire one time, but I could never get the device to pump up the tire with air even after letting it run for a half-hour. The device became very hot while pumping! I eventually borrowed my neighbor's compressor to pump up all 4 of the car tires in a few minutes. I used the Wagan to pump air into bicycle tires, but now the pump quits at about 45psi, never reaching the 70psi needed. I used the Wagan a few times to jump a dead car battery, but now that doesn't work anymore.

I suspect the internal battery needs to be replaced, but I wasn't able to find the manual on the Wagan web site. Customer support seems very lacking to me.

Bestek MRJ301A Universal Travel Adapter with Voltage Step Down

Bestek MRJ301A Universal Travel Adapter with Voltage Step DownWhat a piece of garbage. I bought this so I could charge my laptop and cell phone while traveling in Uganda for 2 months. I would have checked it out before I left, but where was I going to find a Ugandan style outlet to plug it into? Once overseas, with no backup plan in place, I plug it into the wall socket and a short "pop" and puff of smoke later it was gone. Now I'm stranded overseas with no power options for the next month and a half (except for the occasional rouge traveler I encounter who lends me their working converter). The worst part is, I'm not sure if I'll be home in time to return it.

Have not completely tested this yet. But be aware it will not charge an iphone from the USB port. This is because an Iphone requires 2V on both data lines to make the phone charge as well as the 5V and ground that it provides. (Thats really an Apple problem not Bestek, Apple likes to make it hard for others to make Iphone accessories). Not sure that the USB port will charge a Kindle but it looks as though it does but you get no indication that the Kindle is charging other than the battery level indicator rises. Again I am assuming that the Kindle requires some sort of voltage on the data lines probably different to the Iphone just to make things hard.

I was traveling to Australia and needed to find an adapter that would work there. Many of the adapters that I found worked only for areas of Europe. This adapter worked great in Australia and will work in other places I travel as well. If you travel around the globe I suggest throwing one of these into you suitcase, it's a nice addition to my normal supplies that I take with me.

Battery Tender 021-0128 Battery Tender Plus 12V Battery Charger

Battery Tender 021-0128 Battery Tender Plus 12V Battery ChargerEvery time I want to fire up my old 71 Datsun (that's Nissan for those of you younger than 30) 240 Z there's a good chance that the battery has drained down and that I can't start it! Looking around at car forums I read about this nifty little gadget....It's like a battery trickle charger....sort of. Whereas it's not recommended to keep a trickle charger hooked up all the time, this one has circuitry to limit the current and sense when the battery needs charging. It only charges at 1.25 amps which is easier on the battery.

I've had it on for a month now and it's great. The first couple of days, the red light was on indicating charging. Since then it's been on green and the car starts right up. I live in Houston where the heat and humidity can be just as brutal on batteries as the cold.

I highly recommend this "tender" for those that have cars that stay unused for long periods.

As other reviews have mentioned it comes with a set of adapters that allow you to permanently attach pigtails to the battery posts and then you can quickly connect the tender without having to use the alligator clips (also included).

For the price and free shipping you can't go wrong!

UPDATE after two years of use.

I can now reconfirm that these battery tenders work great I've had them hooked up continuously on two cars that stay in the garage a lot and I've NEVER had them not start right up. A quick glance at the LED display lets me know that the batteries are either charging or fully charged. It's a real pleasure to be able to go right up and enjoy your wheels without having to worry about whether the battery is dead. I can't say for sure, but I suspect that it lengthens the life of the battery as well.

This little gizmo is dynamite.

I have a 4 year old Accord that, due to circumstance, only has about 4400 miles. Rarely driven...and what driving is done is mostly at night.

Sat for a week once in very cold weather...dead battery.

Ordered this. Hooked it up. 100% charge and the battery is very powerful once again.( had thought I would probably need a new one).

It's very small size makes it extremely easy to use and store. And it will not overcharge, so you do not have to babysit the process.

It's LEDs glow red when charging. Green and red blink once 80% has been achieved. Solid green at 100%.

It did, in very cold weather, take a long time to establish a full charge on my almost completely discharged battery. The battery would have been usable in a few hours, but 100% took close to 18.

Highly recommended.

I have an older version of this charger that I bought in the mid 90's. I used it to maintain my garaged Mustang's battery over the winter months for many years. I made a cigarette lighter adapter so all I needed to do was to plug it in instead of using the alligator clips. I have to say this thing is dead reliable! It always kept my battery in prime condition. I love it and recommend it highly.

I recently purchased a Deltran Battery Tender Plus (they are made in China) battery charger for a total cost of $63.30. It has never worked correctly from the first day I got it. It charges great, but it never goes into the "storage" mode, or notifies you that the battery is at 80% charged. It apparently just keeps charging the battery whether it needs it or not.

I contacted Deltran's "technical" department a few times about the problem, and told them that I suspected the charger was faulty, but they kept telling me it was the battery, or "check this" or "check that" or "the weather was too cold" (in Florida), even though I had told them the battery was new. So, figuring they knew what they were talking about, I purchased another brand new battery at the cost of $79.92.

I left the "new" battery on this charger for a few days, and it was the same thing as the "old" battery. The charger never showed a full charge or went into storage mode.

So now that the equipment that this battery is from has been out of service for a couple of weeks, (because Deltran recommended I remove the battery from the equipment since I was having a problem charging it), and I couldn't afford to fiddle around any longer, I bought a competitors battery charger for $46.45, and as it turns out after connecting the new charger, within a matter of a few minutes both the "old" and the "new" batteries showed fully charged, and the new (competitors) charger went into "storage" mode with no problem.

Now that I knew for sure that this Deltran Battery Tender Plus charger was not working properly, I reviewed the Battery Tender Plus "LIMITED" 10 year warranty, and found out they (Deltran) wants a $9.95 "handling" fee (if you have had the charger over 90 days), and if you have the original sales receipt, if you want to send it in for repair.

If you don't have the original receipt, then it is a $15.95 "handling" fee no matter how long you have had it.

Having wasted about 2weeks fiddling with 2different batteries and 2different chargers all because the Deltran Battery Tender Plus did not work correctly in the first place, I am not about to spend another $15.95 "handling" fee (because I don't have the original receipt) plus shipping (maybe $10.00) to return it to Deltran for exchange/repair, and then wait another week or two to get the charger back and have to hope that it now works correctly.

Deltran also told me that since I did not buy the Battery Tender Plus in question directly from them, I would need to send it back to where I originally purchased it. Not having the original receipt (because I bought it someplace online and don't remember where), I asked Deltran what's the difference where I purchased it since they (Deltran) are the manufacturer and supply the warranty as well, and I was told that "it is the same as trying to return a Chevrolet to a Ford dealership". That I don't understand, because if a person has a problem with a Chevrolet, they can take it to any Chevy dealer in the country and have it fixed (and maybe any GM dealer).

They also said in so many words that I should have known sooner that the charger was defective, which must mean that their "technical" department is not fully competent to be advising anyone, and that I should have not paid any attention to their suggested remedies in the first place.

Because of the investment of time and money I now have in this Battery Tender Plus, and the poor "technical" support I received from Deltran, I would never buy another one and would not recommend it to anyone else. Their 10 year "LIMITED" warranty is also a joke. Battery Tender PlusSucks! It should be called Battery Tender Negative!.

Want Battery Tender 021-0128 Battery Tender Plus 12V Battery Charger Discount?

I bought one, for my own use and spent much time reading Deltran's website, and the finally the info that came with the Deltran unit.

Over all, Works well, made well (vented metal case). I've been testing it on a 55ah AGM.

I have a lot of background in battery chargers. Based on my review of the unit I bought, I wanted to maybe offer some general practical help for those that can't find all the info they need for guidance before they but such a product.

The price at Amazon makes it worth it, but not list at the OEM's site. The OEM list price is pricey for the Battery Tender Plus, the Battery Tender Jr is about 1/2 (based on the OEM price), and can take care of much of the same duties.

While I've read all I could from their site, all their advertising pre-sale doesn't warn that it may not charge a large cell that has been properly discharged. Once I bought my Battery Tender Plus, I found liteature comes with the charger that warns you of this..

I figured as much and bought it as a compliment to my smart bulk chargers that aren't good maintainers. The reason.......

If the power is interrupted on any of my bulk chargers, they don't come back to the correct profile, just the profile for 2amp charge for a wet cell general. Not the AGM profile.

The Deltran being a dedicated maintainer doesn't suffer from this problem.

If the power was to be cycled, it would just go through it's profile again. And since it's such low current, no harm.

These Tenders are Great for when the bulk charger is taken care else where on the larger RV, boat, or secondary car battery. Your primary car battery is charged by the alternator, and when you store the car you need to take care of the self discharge issue and any parasitic loads that will discharge your car's battery while in storage... the Battery Tender Plus is great for that.

As well as the Battery Tender Jr, if you have very little or no parasitic loads.

(if your parasitic loads are too great, you may need to disconnect the battery from the vehicle for storage if the parasitic drain/loads comes close to the tender's rating, it wont do it's job and your battery wont be a happy battery)

I've been testing the Battery Tender Plus on my optima AGM, and on maintenance float, the battery is only pulling a .01a at 13.2vdc. Just right. The profile was just about perfect, per optima's spec and other AGM's spec, and perfect for wet cells (normal car batteries).

If you have larger parasitic loads, the Battery Tender Plus (1.25a) will be a better choice. But if you pull your battery lead of have little or no parasitic loads, the Battery Tender Jr will work well and save you money over the Battery Tender Plus.

(Again, remember if your parasitic loads are too great, you may need to disconnect the battery from the vehicle for storage if the parasitic drain/loads comes close to the tender's rating, it wont do it's job and your battery wont be a happy battery)

For a motorcycle battery, the Battery Tender Plus is probably the end all charger.

But for the larger batteries, neither Tender will serve as a bulk charger. To protect your battery investment, get a good smart bulk charger (not the cheapo dumb bulk chargers) with the right profiles, and use the Deltan Battery Tender Plus or Battery Tender Jr for storage.

After the testing I've done (monitored and recorded voltage, current, and temps to see what the profiles are of the chargers), for my storage use, I could have gotten away with the Battery Tender Jr @.75a, for my storage "tender" of a single 55ah optima agm battery.

Sony XVM-R75 Motorized Fold-Down Widescreen 7" LCD Monitor (Silver)

Sony XVM-R75 Motorized Fold-Down Widescreen 7' LCD MonitorGreat monitor with a cool factor of mototrized fold-down. The problem is the fold-down motor is not durable in regular use. I have owned this monitor for just barely 2 years, and the motor is defective. At every bump on the road, the monitor would automatically close, which drove the kids...and me crazy!! I originally had this professionally installed, and now, the technicians stated that the motor is defective/broken. I am disappointed and really was expecting a much more reliable product from Sony.

CTEK 56-573 Comfort Connect Cig Socket

CTEK 56-573 Comfort Connect Cig SocketAs shipped, this allows you to plug a female cigarette lighter plug into a ctek-equipped electrical system using the o-ring weather sealed ctek snaplock connector. That's great, but you are still confined to the cigarette plug format.

You can cut the cig plug off and install what is known as an anderson connector on the end of the cord, change the fuse to whatever your wiring system can handle (10-20-30 A), and then use this as a high power interface since your ctek outlet is wired directly to your battery with high current cable (in my case #8 wire, 6 feet, directly to the battery) and it comes out on my dash next to the cruise control with the opposite polarity ctek connector.

In effect, this allows you to use a vehicle or battery in reverse, taking power out of the charger inlet. Your creativity is not burdened by the 10A wiring to the lighter socket in the vehicle.

This is a good addition to all the CTEK accessories. I use it in my off-road RZR to plug in a heated seat

cushion for night riding. The entire CTEK line is high quality excellent equipment .

Garmin GPS 10 Deluxe with Bluetooth Technology

Garmin GPS 10 Deluxe with Bluetooth Technology
  • WAAS-Enabled, 12-Channel Sensor Receives GPS Satellite
  • Signals & Wirelessly Transmits Them To A Mobile Device
  • Adds Full-Featured GPS Navigation To Bluetooth-Enabled Devices
  • More Than 5 Million Points Of Interest Such As Restaurants, Hotels,
  • Gas Stations & Attractions

I've been using a Garmin StreetPilot III for 3 years now, for those unfamilar with it, its a all-in-one GPS unit with auto-routing feature and voice prompt. Its a good trusty device, highly rugged and I credit much of my career success in Silicon Valley to it.

What prompted me to start sourcing for another GPS device is due to the airport hassle we experience these days. I work for the Sales department of a security company and that means frequent travel these days. The StreetPilot III is an excellent device but its a little bulky to fit into my notebook bag.

Hence enter the Garmin GPS 10. I got mine for $209 from Digitally Unique, they're slow on shipping but the price was good. Get the Deluxe package and not the receiver only one, the Garmin software and maps are worth the money.

In comparison with the older StreetPilot, advantages are:

1. Small, light and easily fit into your pocket or laptop bag, easier when passing through airport security.

2. Integrated magnetic mount allows for mounting outside the rental car, a good solution in case you rented a car with heatsheild on the windscreen that can block GPS signal.

3. Waterproof, so you can still mount the device outside the car in adverse weather condition.

4. Software provided for both PocketPC and Windows OS (Mac / Linux users are out of luck here). Most business travellers like myself typically carry a PDA and for sure has a notebook. In case your PDA fails, you'll still have GPS capability using your notebook.

5. Enhanced software features includes:

More customization options

Cool transparent setting for indicators and prompts

Elevation indicator, nice feature when travelling

Easier filter for Waypoints and POI (Points of Interest)

6. Uses standard SD or Compact flash memory cards supported by your PDA instead of the proprietary flash memory cards from Garmin. Get the Viking 512mb SD card available from Amazon here with rebate, goes nicely if your PDA has a SD slot.

7. The GPS 10 turns on automatically if it detects power from the 12v cigarette lighter adaptor.

Disadvantages compared to StreetPilot III:

1. This could be related to my choice of PDA, I'm using a Dell Axim X5 PocketPC 2003. This PDA does not have an integrated Bluetooth so I use a Anycom Bluetooth CF card. Whenever I turn off the PDA and back on again, I need to re-connect the Bluetooth serial connection. Then I have to stop the Garmin nRoute software from searching the serial port, then reconnect again. A bit of a hassle compared to the StreetPilot III where you simply turn it on.

2. Routing algorithm not as good as StreetPilot III. The Pocket PC based routing logic seems to be slightly inferior to the one based on SP III (Palm OS based).

3. Depending on your PDA, the screen could be very difficult to read in the car. The Dell Axim X5 does not do well despite its transreflective LCD. The SP 3 on the other hand is clearly visible under all sorts of condition. Recommend you buy a PDA with a very bright screen.

4. PDA dependent. The SP 3 is a integrated device and is very rugged, sitting in direct sunlight for 2 years before I finally managed to buy a townhouse with a garage last year. The PDA however, is flimsy in comparison. I would not thing the Dell Axim will hold up being in sunlight all the time for 2 years.

5. Mounting a hassle. For a semi permanent mount in a car, you'll have to buy a mount either from Seidio or Arkon. However, those mounts are mainly for the PDA and you'll have to mount the GPS 10 seperately.

Recommendation:

1. If you do not travel by air frequently but is looking for a GPS device for use in your car, go with one of those all-in-one devices such as the older Garmin 2610/2620 or the newer Garmin c320/c330. They're much easier to use and mount, and are easier to see in your car.

2. For frequent travellers by air, get this Garmin GPS 10 and a good PDA. This combo is a lot more portable and works even if you end up renting a car with heatshield on the windscreen. Also, in case the PDA fails, you'll have your notebook to fall back on.

3. If you decide on the Garmin GPS 10, get a PDA that has the fastest possible processor. The latest Intel XScale running at 624Mhz is a good choice. My Axim X5 running 416Mhz though usable, I sometimes felt a faster processor would be nice when I'm planning a trip and markign waypoints on the PDA.

Buy Garmin GPS 10 Deluxe with Bluetooth Technology Now

I am an accountant with average PC skills. If you have a laptop with Bluetooth and another person to serve as navigator, the GPS 10 Deluxe is for you.

Set-up was easy. The n-Route laptop navigation software loaded quickly and easily as did the maps of the US and Canada. (On a laptop, you can load and unlock the maps all in one step.)

The GPS/software kit price is 5% of an installed navigator on new car while the functionality is comparable, and the laptop screen view and sound are excellent. Documentation of the software and GPS is thorough and easy to follow. The magnetic GPS 10 module clings securely to the hood or roof of your car.

Turn on your laptop and connect to the GPS 10 with Bluetooth. Then open the n-Route software and the laptop quickly connects with the GPS. You are ready to go (the software permits you to see how many satellites are being used to fix your position).

Assuming that you have saved your home and destination as "waypoints," you can easily create a route using two waypoints (beginning and end). The software/GPS allows your laptop follow the progress of your vehicle and provides suggested voice and visual directions along the way. Of course, you can chose to go your own way at any point, and the software automatically recalculates your route. At the bottom of the screen you can watch the ever-changing status including your current speed, direction, and time and distance to destination and next maneuver.

The maps have very good route detail and lots of helpful information regarding retail establishments and other points of interest, with an easy way to find them, especially when you are looking for something while traveling (gas, food, etc.).

You may need to change the setting on your firewall to disable the automatic detection of new wireless networks that you will encounter while travelingxx in residential areas, which will distract from your navigating.

Defining a "waypoint" by using a street address may take a little practice and some trial and error.

Note When I ordered this, Amazon had the descriptions switched for two similar products. One comes with software, the other does not. The more expensive one comes with software.

I am using this with my HP IPaq PDA without problems. Routing is very accurate. The software is good and the find feature is like having the yellow pages in your hand as you can search companies, services etc and get their phine number as well as their address...

Product suggestion, make a small recess to keep the rubber plug that closes the power socket when not in use...

Update 1/6/2010:

This unit has gotten better with time. Since initial review, I moved to the ATT (HTC) 8525, and a couple of software updates and a firmware update make this little beauty shine. None of the bluetooth disconnect issues exist anymore from the original review. Latest software included 3D view, and performance is much more reasonable on the 8525. Would get 5 stars if the unit would provide GPS to apps other than Garmin. Shame on you Garmin in your closed source, closed access attitude. New maps updates are ridiculous at $100+.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The GPS unit is extremely sturdy, the magnetic mount is perfect, and the power adapter plug cover thingy is lost already (I've owned for a month).

I use the Cingular 8125 smart phone with the device. The GPS is the only bluetooth device I use with the phone. If the phone powers off, or the GPS is powered off, or the phone is taken out of the bluetooth range, the bluetooth partnership is never remembered. If the phone goes to sleep, the partnership is lost. Workaround is to keep the phone plugged in all the time, or turn off sleep mode on the phone.

Software on the PDA is fairly decent, but due to the weak processor in my phone (200MHz OMAP), calculating routes can take upwards of 2 minutes sometimes. The phone sometimes generates exceptions on the Que software when it is not even running.

Worse part of the software is getting maps onto the phone. I live and travel throughout Texas extensively, and about once a month I'll go somewhere outside of the state. I keep all of Texas (about 6 zones) stored on the SD card, but when I want to add say the D.C area, it's a complete reselect of all 6 zones in TX and then the new zones I want, and then the whole thing has to be uploaded through the USB link again. Ideally the software would read what zones you have already, then allow you to add or remove only those you want.

I wanted a GPS to use on a road trip to Arizona and ordered a GPS 10 to use with a Dell Axim PDA. Got he GPS 10 at end of April and used a couple of times. It worked as advertised. On the road trip to Arizona I plugged it into the cigeratte lighter to charge the battery. The unit got so hot I could not hold it. After that the GPS 10 would not come back on.

I have been trying for 3 days to call Garmin tech support and it is almost always busy. I did get thru once after holding for 45 minutes. After listening to the menu I selected the Outdoor option and was on hold some more. Finally someone answered the phone, said I was in the wrong que, tried to transfer me but we got disconnected. Tried calling again and was busy.

Finally got on the web site and sent a message to tech support. After 36 hrs. I got a response that said send it back for repairs.

Recieved the new one and got the blue tooth to connect to my PDA (dell axim 51v) but it would not connect to the Garmin Que software. Another call to Garmin (busy, hold, disconnect, busy again) after a week or so finally got thru to Garmin. Seems I needed a new unlock code since I changed units and the software is linked to the GPS unit and they must match. Once you get them all connected it works. But the next time you want to use it you must delete the Bluetooth connection and go thru the Bluetooth setup again.

If you use it with Microsoft Streets the unit will connect and follow along with little effort. The only problem is that MS streets will only download a small area at a time to the PDA. But it does work if you stay in the small area or load another map set.

Bottom Line I've had the system for 4 plus months and haven't got it to work properly in the whole time. Wasn't a good use of a couple hundred bucks

elago Nano EL-Car-C1 USB Car Charger for iPhone, iPod, MP3 Players, Digital Cameras, PDAs, and Mob

elago Nano EL-Car-C1 USB Car Charger for iPhone, iPod, MP3 Players, Digital Cameras, PDAs, and Mobile PhonesThis device works with iPhone 4 and 3GS.

When plugged into the cigarette lighter jack, the green light comes on to indicate it is ready.

You would need a separate USB iPhone cable (or other types of USB cable if you use a different device) to connect to this device since this devices does NOT come with a iPhone USB cable.

This charger has a aluminum handle that you can conveniently use to pull the device from the cigarette lighter jack.

Just a heads-up for late model Honda owners, this adapter probably won't fit your outlet. It was too short to make the connection in my 2009 Honda Accord.

Cool design but poor quality. The silver band in the photo is a pull handle that flips out for you to extract the charger from the power socket. The first time I removed it (which unfortunately is beyond the 30 day return policy), the handle broke right through the plastic face that has the elago logo on the front. Completely cracked right through. Thin cheap plastic. Im fired up. Should have bought another brand.

It looks very much like a part of the interior on a 2010 Jeep JK. Most people who see it want to know what the USB port goes to... It looks that good. I actually do have a USB port for the stereo, but it's not in sight... And it works fine. The JK has 2 cigarette type plugs it can go into, one switched with the ignition and one not perfect for camping trips. I move it to the unswitched to recharge cell phone and not have to turn on the key.

Delphi Sa 10034 Skyfi Cd Audio System

Delphi Sa 10034 Skyfi Cd Audio SystemThe mere thought of a combination satellite radio/cd/radio boombox delights the ears. I needed a CD player/radio AND wanted to be able to listen to my XM radio, so I gave this boombox a try. What a disappointment. The main problem is the background noise on the XM radio. The faint high-pitched hum only occurs when listening to the XML radio. The CD player and radio sound fine, however, CDs skip and sometimes hesitate to play. Removing the XM radio takes some practice. You snap the unit into the adapter, which is fine, but to remove it, you have to push on the radio until the unit slides forward. That was my experience.

If you don't already own a Delphi XM radio, consider the Audiophase satellite radio Skybox with AM/FM/CD/MP3 player. Or you could add a receiver to an XM radio family plan,.

Pros:

Radio and cd player fidelity

Intuitive buttons

Cons:

Background noise

Skipping CDs

Awkward way to insert and remove XM radio

Garish design

When I hooked up my SkyFi radio in this device and turned on the unit, what I heard was a constant low frequency oscillating sound the best I can describe it is a "motorboat" noise. I heard the satellite radio, but during quiet passages especially on talk shows and interviews/comments on radio channels it was extremely annoying. So, I tried muting the sound and the noise continued unabated at the same volume. You could mask it by turning up the volume, but on some jazz, classical, and talk channels it was always there, annoyingly so.

I tried using headphones, thinking it was a speaker problem, but it was still there. Then, I figured it might be a bad power supply and tried batteries annoying background sound was still there. So this item is going back it's a real shame because it's a nice device, but fails miserably in it's intended purpose (at least for me) and that is making satellite radio portable.

I tried AM and FM radio and the performance is surprisingly good. But, the manual is completely wrong as to how to store presets for these modes. The manual says that in order to choose what preset number under which to store the station you should hit the "tune" button. In fact, you hit the "seek" button. Until I stumbled on this, I was going crazy trying to get the manual's instructions to work on my device. Also, the "Menu" button on the remote control does NOT put the satellite SkyFi into menu mode as the instructions say it should. As it turns out I found about a half dozen places where the manual is dead wrong.

I did not try the device with playing a CD audio or mp3. When I realized the device was useless to me for playing satellite radio, I gave up and decided to use my SkyFi home kit with cheap powered speakers.

A real shame this had the promise of being a really nice device. By the way, Delphi "tech support" never responded to my inquiries. I understand by looking at other reviews that this is not unusual.

Buy Delphi Sa 10034 Skyfi Cd Audio System Now

This is a great idea and design, the remote allows you to navigate through songs before changing channels. XM is awesome!!! The only negative of this product unfortunately is the sound that is pumped out of the speakers. The speakers output sound that sounds like a $25 dollar boombox rather than the $200 system it is. If you are using this as a stand alone boombox I do not think this is worth the money. I bought this system for my business office where I am constrained for space. So this system allows me XM radio and a CD player without taking up much space. I have a computer speaker system setup so the saving grace of this system is that it has a headphone jack so I plug my speakers into the headphone jack and I have stereo quality pumping XM/CD's all day !! Problem Solved !!!

Wonderful product. Just about the best XM SkyFI accessory I have ever had. Extremely durable, and rugged construction. Not much on looks, but is just about the best product of it's type I have ever owned.

Unabashed plug: I am a blind person. I attend a school out here in Rancho Mirage called the Braille Institute. A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned XM radio to about 150 of my fellow students. Just this week, about 70 of them told me that they had got themselves a SkyFI radio, and told me that XM radio was the best thing ever to enter thier lives.

Maybe XM should hire me as a marketer... :)

Great system! Great sound! Very easy to use. I love the flip design and controls. Plays CDs very well and AM/FM sensitivity is great.

I have the earlier XM Delph boombox but was always yearning to hear CDs and FM stations at times. This solves the problem.

Thinking of getting another one.

Very much recommended.

Duracell DRPP300 Powerpack 300 Jump Starter and Emergency Power Source

Duracell DRPP300 Powerpack 300 Jump Starter and Emergency Power SourceThe following review is similar to another review I posted regarding the Duracell Powerpack 450. I have edited some portions that are relevant to this 300 model.

I have had similar powerpacks in the past that were made by Xantrex before Duracell bought them out. I have a Xantrex 400 unit purchased in 2006 that is at 50-65% capacity, but that was my fault as I kept it in a climate controlled environment but did not perform the 3 month charging intervals, hence battery degradation.

I bought this one to replace an old Xantrex 300 unit that I found died on me as I was preparing for hurricane Sandy. I primarily buy these for back up power for light and powering electronic devices like cell/smartphones. I have used it to jump start a car (mostly 4 cylinders) and the air compressor comes in handy to top off the PSI on car tires, and at one time to inflate a half flat tire with a slow leak. I was able to inflate it enough to get it to a tire repair shop safely. Expect long run times when using CFL light bulbs, shorter run times with incandescent. Having done my own bench tests for run times on CFL and incandescent light bulbs, here are the results: 60 watt CFL bulb ran for almost 8 hours. 100 watt CFL bulb ran for almost 5 hours. 40 watt incandescent bulb ran for 2 hours, 15 minutes. As you can see, it runs more efficiently with the use of CFL bulbs over incandescent. If you experience frequent power outages for long periods of times, you may want to invest in some CFL bulbs to switch in your lamps for longer run times. The Powerpack 450 will give you an hour or more of longer run times, but to be honest, the weight and size of that unit doesn't make it worth it for the few extra dollars.

This model is much lighter and more portable than it's Powerpack 450 brother which is much heavier. The overall width, however, is wider than one would expect on the 300. The pictures provided are somewhat deceiving.

Regular maintenance is KEY, I stress KEY to longevity. These are not really workhorses. In my opinion they are for light duty occasional usage. If you follow the recharging intervals as indicated, you will get years of use out of them.

Now, if you are to visit the Duracell website, they list too many restrictions as far as performance for jumping a car battery. The units are sensitive to extreme heat or cold temperatures which affect its performance. After reading this, I would not keep mine in the trunk of my car full time UNLESS I am going on a road trip and want the added security of having it with me "just in case." If you are looking for a dedicated battery jump starter to keep full time in your trunk, I'd look elsewhere for one that is able to withstand extreme heat or cold while not affecting performance. This one simply will not cut it for you. I recommend the Jump-N-Carry JNC300XL 900 Peak Amp Ultraportable 12-Volt Jump Starter with Light but there are others out there for you to choose from.

I'm very pleased with my unit!

...but the timespan in which it remains operational is far too short.

I have had mine for less than a year before it developed problems in charging the battery.

I now discover that there is no support for replacing the battery in the unit; Duracell makes it far too difficult to remove and replace the battery to make it worth the hassle.

The one component in here that is likeliest to break is the battery, and rather than making it easy to service as an end user, they tell people to throw the entire unit out and buy another one.

Wasteful and ridiculous.

Buy Duracell DRPP300 Powerpack 300 Jump Starter and Emergency Power Source Now

I've owned ten of these devices, starting back when they were marketed and sold using the Xantrex brand name. It works fine, but because it contains a lead acid battery, you must charge it once a month. After 2-3 years, however, the battery will die. The manufacturer offers no instructions on how to replace the battery, and so you either need to figure out how to replace it on your own (not easy) or dispose of this and buy a new one.

I've now decided that it is simply better to buy separate components.

The Jump-N-Carry JNC300XL 900 Peak Amp Ultraportable 12-Volt Jump Starter with Light is a jump starter that also contains a lead acid battery. But, unlike with Duracell, this product's battery is user replaceable.

The Slime 40022 12-Volt Digital Tire Inflator will connect to your car's cigarette lighter (or the Jump-N-Carry cigarette lighter output) and inflate your tires. You can even set your desired pressure and it will stop when it reaches that pressure.

And there are a plethora of inverters available that will plug into either to give you 120 Volts.

The nice thing about buying separate components is that they are each lighter and less bulky than this product as well.

Don't get me wrongit is nice to have everything in a single package. And if Duracell allowed the user to replace batteries, I would have given this a very high rating. But, making a product like this disposable is unnecessary and wasteful.

My former power pack finally died after several years of use. This power pack is very similar to my former pack, but it is better organized. The jump cables and air hose are very cleverly permanently attached to the pack rather than being in a separate package(of which I have misplaced from my older pack). There will be no misplacing of the parts to this pack. I use the pack when we go camping. I have a few items that need 120 power to run. The power pack holds enough power to run and/or recharge these items while we are camping. This item is compact enough and light enough to be really handy. I also like having emergency jump start and air compression if needed when out in the boonies. I never needed to use the emergency features in the past, but if you don't have it you need it! I would rather have it and not need it.

Great while it works, which in my case was not for very long. The unit refused to charge after about a year. I did not recharge it after every use, and i used it primarily to jumpstart cars .. possibly my fault that it is now non functional ...

I purchased this cell phone charger to keep in the car as I travel. My phone charges fully and quickly. Amazon's $1.99 price tag was much more reasonable than Walmart's $14.56 for the same product. I find this charger works just as well as the more expensive ones. I was skeptical of Amazon's low price, but this product is of high quality and I have not had any problems with it. I highly recommend this item.

Perfect Fit Handlebar Bike Mount For iphone 4 / 3G / 3Gs,

Perfect Fit Handlebar Bike Mount For iphone 4 / 3G / 3Gs,I road bike alot and thought it would be a great way to have my phone and bike app at my finger tips.... But the way to attach to the bar was far to limited and small. Once I found a place to attach it, it was great for a whole week when it fell apart... the ring to tighten it down broke and so it's a waste of money.

Ignoring the warnings of other reviews, I purchased this device and only got around to using this week. I mounted it properly and it seemed to fit snug and secure.

I mounted it on my road bike. About five miles into a smooth ride I hit a small bump. The phone FLEW off bike, crashing down on the pavement. The velocity of the impact was more than my iPhone could withstand and was DESTROYED. The bracket was still on the phone it had separated into two pieces. Half staying on the bike the rest taking an express trip to the pavement with my iPhone.

Amazon should NOT be selling this defective and dangerous item. Shame on them. The $15 device will now cost me hundreds of dollars to recoup.

This was purchased from Amazon. The seller is AKRON. I will NEVER do business with them again and suggest you move with caution if you do. At least in this instance they are knowingly selling defective products and so is Amazon. Amazon should be ashamed. Read the other reviews. Don't make my mistake. This is JUNK.

You have been warned. Very poor product. Poorly designed. Poorly engineered. Poorly built.

Since I can't give negative stars, I will give this one.

This mount broke on the 2nd use. The plastic mount if not strong enough to hold on a bike. The mounting options are very limited because it fits only on a 1" tube. It will not fit over handle bar tape on a road bike.

I'm just glad that it broke while I was installing it indoors rather than at 20 mph on the road.

I bought one of these for my iPhone 3Gs. It doesn't seem that secure. I see in the manual it says not to use it on bumpy roads. So what kind of product is this?

From the manual "To insure that your device is secured to the pedestal, Arkon Resources, Inc. recomends using a strap to secure your device when using with Arkon cradles, universal cradles, or other products. This pedestal is not designed for off-road use or bumpy roads. If not secured properly, your device may fly off and become damaged."

SuperTooth Buddy Bluetooth Visor Speakerphone Car kit-Black

SuperTooth Buddy Bluetooth Visor Speakerphone Car kit-BlackSUMMARY:

=============

This is a simple device and easy to use, but sometimes the Bluetooth stays connected through-out the house, while my truck is in the driveway. This is the main reason I give this 4-stars. Charging port is under the device and if you are running low, it is hard to keep it mounted while stuffing the charging cord in between the device and the sun-visor. That is a minor reason why I also give it 4-stars. [See Update at bottom, recently lowered to 3-stars]

What's in the box:

====================

1. SuperTooth Buddy bluetooth device

2. Car charger that uses mini-USB

3. Magnetic clip that allows you to use the device with the sun-visor closed or open

What I like about this:

========================

1. Simple to setup and use; it gets the job done!

2. I press the green button and I can do voice-dialing the same way as I do with just my phone.

3. Seems like a pretty good battery charge, seeing how I never turn it off... probably 2-3 weeks worth, but I do not make lenghty calls in my car

4. Good price

5. Good volume, nice and loud

6. Callers report my voice sounds clear, though they can tell I'm on a speakerphone

7. Seems to work well in this Texas heat, which probably exceeds 120degrees inside the car in July/August, my Motorola T-325 did not. [See Update!!]

What I don't like about this:

=============================

1. No caller id, it only rings or you have to look at your phone display for $20 more, the Jabra Cruiser2 and Motorola T-325 announces the caller's name!

2. Bluetooth signal is almost too strong. I've parked my car in the driveway and sometimes it stays connected. I kid you not, but I take aluminum foil and just wrap it around my phone when I come home and usually the bluetooth signal drops and it disconnects.

Why don't I just turn off bluetooth on my phone?? Well, more times than not, every time I turn off Bluetooth on the phone, I forget to turn it back on and usually it is when I am driving and the phone is not easily accessible. You don't want to go around digging for your phone, that's why you get a Bluetooth speakerphone like this :).

Why don't I just turn off the actual device?? Well, more times than not, every time I turn off the device, I forget to turn it on, and usually it's when someone calls me and only my phone rings, etc. At this point it is too late to turn it on and hope it pairs in time AND answer the call.

So my aluminum foil method is silly but it works. Just wrap it for a few minutes when you come home and it seems to stay disconnected. The next time you get in your car, it will auto-pair.

3. One time with my phone in a backpack in the back seat, it took almost 10 minutes after I went over a speed bump before it auto-paired. *Most* of the times, it pairs within a minute of getting to my car. I'll strike this as a freak occurrence and update this review later if it reoccurs.

4. You have to hold the power button for a full 10 seconds before it turns off, but then again, I rarely turn it off, for reasons mentioned above

5. The charging port is on the bottom of the device, not on the side, this makes it very difficult to charge while mounted on the sun visor or on the clip.

How does it compare to other devices I've used?

================================================

1. I've owned two of the Motorola T-325 and that device has *EVERY* feature I have ever wanted, from caller-id-NAME-announce, auto on/off, automatic low battery warning, long battery life, easy to charge while mounted on the sun-visor, wonderful wonderful device BUT POOR RELIABILITY. One flat out broke and the second one seems to overheat in Texas, it will connect and disconnect 10 times while driving. Both occurred outside the warranty period. If the Motorola T-325 was more reliable I'd still be using it. Motorola has a newer version called the Roadster, but I'm seeing the same reliability issues in the reviews.

How does it compare to other devices I've researched?

=======================================================

1. For about $20 more, the Jabra Cruiser2 seems to match the Motorola T-325 that I used to love, but the Cruiser2 does not have perfect reviews and no auto on/off. The Cruiser2 does do caller-id-NAME-announce though. If the reviews were more consistently better, I would've considered the Cruiser2.

2. The Motorola Roadster is a little more, but I am hesitant because of my T-325 reliability issues also, a lot of 1-star reviews...

3. The Jabra Freeway is brand new, but 3 times the price! If the Jabra Freeway drops in price by 60% I would consider it it also has caller-id-NAME-announce, auto on/off, etc. Does not have exactly perfect reviews.

So until the next perfect device comes out with really good reviews, I decided to save money and get the SuperTooth Buddy. In the pursuit of hands-free, it gets the job done, minus some of the nice frills of more expensive units out there.

[Update 9-6-2011]

I have now returned my SuperTooth Buddy for several reasons:

A. The first time I needed to charge it, I charged it for several hours until the "halo" light turned green. The next day I used it fine. The second day, it would not turn on at all. I charged it up again and it seemed to work fine for a few days....

B. With my phone in the cupholder, it did not auto-pair for another 10 minutes, this has now occurred 3 times. Sure, I can turn the unit on/off and or toggle my bluetooth and make it pair, but I shouldn't have to, it should automatically pair when in range. For battery-savings, perhaps *MY* phone defaults to checking every 10 minutes if it doesn't find a device for a long while, or it could be the SuperTooth, who knows, but other devices like the T-325 (and BlueAnt S4 and Jabra Freeway) automatically turns itself off and on, so this was never an issue before.

C. I decided to return it when it wouldn't turn on again 2 more times. The second time it happened, it worked on the way home after a short trip doing errands. The third time, I got a little Sherlock idea, and put the device on the a/c vent to cool it off (even though it was not too hot to touch). After just a couple of minutes, the device then turned on and auto-paired and worked fine since. So my assumption is that if it gets too hot in your car, that the device won't power on. (You can test if it is on by hitting the "Up" volume button, when it reaches max volume level, you should always hear a beep, regardless of being paired. Holding down the power button should also beep on/off, too. In my cases, the device would never turn on or beep, etc.)

Final Parting Summary:

=======================

With the 30-day warranty period almost over, I decided I needed to return it ASAP given the reliability issues I've seen related to Texas Heat so far. Too much finagling involved to make it work; things should just work out of the box. I still think 3-stars is fair because those of you in a much milder climate, might have great luck with this. When it works (and turns on) it is a pretty decent no frills bluetooth speakerphone, especially for the price. Like another review mentions, if you're sitting on your couch one day and go to use your phone and hear nothing, it is probably because the bluetooth is still connected in your car! hehehe. This is probably why the other manufacturers added *motion-sensing* auto on/off...

I bought the Supertooth Buddy for my Mother in law, as I needed something easy to set up, and operate without too many bells and whistles, and the Supertooth Buddy is it! Personally I am getting tired of the technical "arms race" with electronic devices. The Buddy does it's job well without having to jump through hoops. I read the manual, explained it to my wife, and she set it up for her Mother, no problems! To me that is the true test, as my wife isn't a gear head. If she can set it up, and my Mother in law can work it, then it passes the test. It is plenty loud enough for conversations, and the magnetic visor clip allows the Buddy to be swapped from one side of the visor to the other in an instant if one needs to change the visor position. A great bluetooth device for those of us who just want something simple that works. It comes with a car charger and USB to Mini USB cable to charge the unit. It does not come with a home charger, though one can use the USB cable to charge it using your USB port on your computer. Standby time is 1000 hours, so the lack of a home charger shouldn't be an issue.

Was doubtful when I ordered this item as most of the other hands free car kits I have used were more expensive. I was very surprised that this speakerphone is hands down the best I've used so far. It beats my Motorola, Jabra and LG in sound quality (both incoming and outgoing) and is very easy to set up and use. My other speakerphones all died after only a few months in the Texas heat. So far, so good on this model. Not a bunch of extras on this unit, but I really just wanted a hands free that I could understand the conversation clearly and that I didn't sound like I was talking in a coffee can. This is the unit. If you are looking for a good basic hands free speakerphone with excellent sound quality and ease of use, this is it.

Want SuperTooth Buddy Bluetooth Visor Speakerphone Car kit-Black Discount?

I was fed up using bluetooth headsets with my iPhone. Everytime I seemed to want to use it, they were either not paired properly, battery dead or the person on the other end could not hear me properly.

So, I was looking for a hands free car kit. A full integrated one for my Audi A4 was about $400+. Too much.

So after some investigating, I came across this alternative.

What I really like about it, is that it just works. I charged it up using a USB mains adapter, 3 weeks ago, I paired it up with my iPhone (that took about 1 minute) and then clipped it onto my visor. I have not had to charge it since.

Whenever I walk up to the car, it beeps to say that it is speaking with my iPhone. From then on, it just works. Sound is clear in both directions. I just leave my Bluetooth on my iPhone 4 on. I know that when I step into my car, then it will automatically be working.

I had been looking for dual band handheld radios for a few weeks when I ran into this deal and immediately ended my search. Two for $76 delivered in only a few days cannot be beat anywhere on this planet. Even buying direct from China in bulk you won't find a better deal. I don't see how they can do it but they do.

These radios are very high quality and the newest model with the latest features. You can't go wrong here and it appears likely we will need them in the near future if you want to communicate outside of your own neighborhood. It is highly likely cell, land line and internet communications will be cut during martial law, leaving ham radio as the only means of communication. Get ready to batten down the hatches, these radios could save your life.

Want 2 × BaoFeng UV-5RE Plus(UV-5R Plus) Dual-Band 136-174/400-480 MHz FM Ham Two-way Radio, Improved S Discount?

Initially I purchased one, being skeptical about the product because of the low price. This little gem is absolutely awesome! It can monitor two bands. I have a Yaesu that cost 10x this gem and it doesn't have dual band or dual channel monitoring. So I bought two more; one for backup and one for my daughter.

Durability is also a feature. While I wouldn't advise dropping one of these gems just for the sake of dropping it, I did accidently drop it...twice. No harm.

Size matters. This little guy is smaller than my iPhone (sans antenna) but it does the job of any much more expensive radio I have in my "arsenal."

The ear piece: Works extremely well. I quit using the speaker/mic and use the earpiece exclusively.

I bought a longer antenna, which I strongly recommend. The OEM antenna is adequate, but an after market antenna I bought is 15.5 inches long and I am told puts out a stronger signal on simplex. The one I picked up is a RETECH RHA-771. Got it on eBay because Amazon didn't have one to sell :(

Pros: Compact size. Has several features more expensive radios don't have. Durable.

Cons: Manual programming is tough but do-able. GET THE CABLE! OEM antenna is weak

Bottom line: For 40 bucks you can't go wrong!

The two new 2013 version radios I purchased are great. The came with an improved 6 1/4 " antenna, (looks like a Motorola clone) ear bud/mic unit, battery, strap and charger. I found them easy to program by the keyboard and the voice aknowledgements are a big help. Both units seem to perform well. Handy little units so small they would be great for a gal who would like to keep one in her purse. The Manual could use some minor improvements however all the information you need is there. I have not attempted to use the earbud/mic yet and may not try it as the basic HT package meets my needs.

Schumacher IPD-1800 Instant Power Jump-Starter with Docking Station

Schumacher IPD-1800 Instant Power Jump-Starter with Docking StationThe reasons that I bought this charger is because it has a docking stations which can be used to charge and store the unit when not in use. After the charging is completed, the docking station will enter a "floating charge" mode to prevent overcharging. Some other charger need to be monitored carefully since overcharging can damage the battery. With this unit, I can just leave it and forget it... Also, this unit is small enough that my wife can use it to jumpstart her minivan. Some other multifunction charger are so heavy, you'd have to be a weightlifter to carry the thing.

** UPDATE ** I originally wrote the glowing review below. This was a great product, while it lasted. Unfortunately, about 1 week after the 1-year warranty period ran out, the unit stopped accepting a charge. That is, I could not charge it either using the cradle or directly from the wall adapter. I called Schumacher and they could not offer me any help. A shame, but I can no longer recommend this device and I will be looking for a replacement.

UPDATE: I paid $88 for this when I purchased it in February, 2008. I see the price has increased, so I just wanted to note this difference so you take my comment about 'heck of a deal for the price' and 'comparison shopping' in the appropriate context. I am still very pleased with the unit but wanted to make clear that I am no longer completely certain that it's the best deal on the market. I have not recently done any comparison shopping to figure out if other units prices have changed.

Original review: Let me begin by saying that this is a sturdy, well-built piece of machinery. It also clearly can get the job done, period. My V6 Toyota Land Cruiser had a _completely_ flat battery, with a totally crudded-over positive terminal. I hooked this puppy up, and my engine ROARED back to life within 10 seconds of the connection being made. I haven't ever heard my engine start like that before, even when jumped from other jumper packs. Now, to comment on some other aspects of this equipment: It comes with a charging cradle, but you don't need to use it, because the AC adapter that plugs in to the cradle can also be plugged directly in to the jumper pack itself. So you can just stash the AC adapter in the car with the jumper pack, for mobile use. Also, this _can_ be used to power small appliances, but you'll need a cigarette-lighter adapter, because this doesn't have a regular outlet, only a cigarette-lighter outlet. Anyway, this is a heck of a deal for the price. I did a lot of comparison shopping to get the best value, and I'm very, very pleased.

I purchased this unit based on all the positive reviews, but unfortunately, I cannot say the same. I guess I must have received a defective unit. The main battery would not charge through the dock and the LED's on the dock were not in synch, as it showed full charge whether the main unit was attached or not, even before charging. The battery charged fine on its own and I concluded that either the dock itself or the battery contacts must be faulty. I could have done without the dock, but the idea of unprotected contacts being bare makes no sense. What made me decide to return it however was the unpleasant experience with Schumacher. After 3 days of calling, each time I was given the run around and they had no records of my issue (Like I was calling for the first time). Finally they decided I had to ship the entire unit (at my cost) so they can "test it". So much for customer service and warranty on a brand new unit out of the box. I decided to return it to Amazon and they paid for the return shipping. The 3 stars is a balance of 1-2 stars for the product, 0star for Schumacher, and 5+ stars for Amazon.

I use this as an alternate 12V power source to power a 12V

air compressor and it is a great product! It can power a

Spot Light(15 watts/12V) for 12 hours. So it doesn't have a problem at all when I blow up tires, floats etc.

I am very impressed with this product as far as it's dependability and ease of use. I had a problem with a battery drain on my vehicle in which the battery would be dead every morning when I would go to start it. I used this product every day for a few weeks to jump off the car until we could find the source of the drain. It worked flawlessly every time I needed it. I had always been scared to jump start a battery, but with this product, it is so easy I didn't have any worries. I could even throw it in the trunk and take it with me when I thought I might need it.

I have had it about 6 months now and I love it! The peace of mind is well worth it!

BoxWave HTC Desire HD Desktop Cradle (With Spare Battery Charger)

BoxWave HTC Desire HD Desktop CradleGreat charger. Performs as advertized. The only negative is it puts out a ton of light. For those who prefer a dark bedroom this might not be a welcome addition to the room

I ATTEMPTED TO BUY THIS BATTERY CHARGER WITH SPARE BATTERY AND RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM BOXWAVE THAT IT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE, INSTEAD I ENDED UP WITH THE DESKTOP CRADLE WITHOUT THE SPARE BATTERY WHICH THEY HAVE PLENTY IN STOCK. TO BAD BECAUSE ITS A GOOD CHARGER.

Motorola EM330 Cell Phone Car Charger

Motorola EM330 Cell Phone Car ChargerThis is not the high quality charger. I suppose, being that it's made in China, it probably has lead paint I'll wager. It does it's job I guess. I give it a so-so rating

GTMax Metalic Black 2-Port USB Car Charger Adapter 2A + Wrist Strap Lanyard

GTMax Metalic Black 2-Port USB Car Charger Adapter 2A + Wrist Strap LanyardThe product states 2A and 1A, each for the ports, but when you have both ports charging, you get only 1.3A and 0.8A.

I have the DROID Bionic, which is notorious for sucking down huge amounts of battery power to do just about anything. Using the 2.1A slot on this charger I can use navigation, play music, and actually have the charge on my battery increase. Typically I use my phone to play music through my car's speakers for my commute home (30-45 min), in that time I can usually go from ~50% up to ~75-80% on the extended battery (normal battery will be full charge in that time). All of the other chargers that I have used w/ this phone will barely keep up w/ the demand of just using navigation, and I would end up "charging" the phone just to stay at the same battery level (or just below).

I have not had any issues that the other reviewers have experienced. I don't know if I lucked out and got one from a good batch, but I am very pleased w/ my purchase.

Product was received quickly and appeared to be a decent item. I bought this for a small road trip so I could charge 2 cell phones at once (HTC Evo and HTC Arrive). The charger took some finagling to keep the led light on so I knew it was getting power, but didn't have any problems with staying on once in place. After just over 2hrs of driving, both phones had less power than when I departed, despite the appearance of charging the entire time. I was the driver and didn't use my phone at all and had the screen off, so I don't know what the cause was, but my Sprint charger doesn't do this at all...

Does not work for my Asus TF300. Plug it in, the red light comes on, doesn't charge the tablet. Tried in 2 different vehicles with a total of 4 power outlets. Also, tried plugging the USB cable into both ports on this adapter. Cannot recommend.

It has two different ports with different amp ratings. I am not sure what was the amp rating that my lumia 900 needed. I tried charging my phone from both ports for a decent drive lasting over 30 minutes (redmond to rattle snake lake). On one port it didn't charge at all. On the other one charging only lasted for some time.

I bought other car charger form AT&T which worked pretty well for me(charge lasts much longer).
