The FCC finally steps into the 21st century allowing Uniden to use their home cordless phone technology for a CB wireless microphone.
What it does: allows you to listen to and talk on your CB radio remotely and wirelessly.
Base unit connects to radio. Handset has a rechargeable battery and can communicate with radio from quite a good distance.
Pros
you can move around the house or away from the car, pretty good distance and still use your radio
receive sound quality is decent, volume can go way up possibly trying to account for situations where there is a lot of background noise
transmit audio receives decent reports need to hear it for myself, sure its not studio sound but if you need this kind of mic, not an issue.
Cons
only good for use with Uniden radios (I believe the base draws power from one of the mic pins not all radios have powered mic pins, although if you could do a little re engineering you might be able to get it to work with other radios.
can't operate radio from microphone other than raising and lowering the receive volume and of course keying up and talking
Not a power mic; again, audio reports were good and if you need this feature, not an issue
I want to say at $75 a little pricey for a mic but for what it is, I guess its ok.
would be great if they added an earphone jack to the mic but it does not have one

I love the wireless aspect of this product, which is probably the only reason i could spend $90 on a new microphone. I wrote this review to answer some of the questions i had before i bought it for anyone else who might have the same questions...
1) This mic will "take over" all audio output for your CB radio. So far as i can tell, there is no way to NOT have the sounds from your CB come out of this mic. I thought maybe my external speaker would take over, but when the external speaker is plugged in with the wireless handset there is a horrible tone that is emitted from both the microphone handset and the external speaker... I had to unplug my external speaker to get it to stop. So if you buy this, make sure that's what you want!
2) The docking station does NOT charge the handset... you have to plug it in separately with the supplied charger. The charger can also be used to automatically turn off the handset when you turn off the car (otherwise the unit waits 2 minutes and then auto shuts-off... Also, It's not the same USB charger as your typical cell phone, it's a bit bigger and is actually a Mini USB connector (unlike your cell phone which is a Micro USB connector).
3) The microphone works great as the mic for you PA setting on your CB radio, and i've had no problems using my wireless mic with my CB radio's built in PA systems.
4) The volume is completely controlled by the hand unit once it's plugged in. Your volume knob doesn't change anything except for the PA volume... all volume is controlled my the buttons on the handset.
Overall, it's a great product. I just wish i could use my external speaker instead of the wireless speaker, or even both at the same time...
