Solarrific Solar Rechargeable Battery Charger

I received my SOLAR CHARGER with great expectations, with a load of AAA, AA, C, D & 9 volt recharg. batteries. Over the next few weeks I used the sun to SLOWLY charge all the batteries. I found that the RED charge light & the GREEN full charge light worked some of the time & when it did this feature was very useful. When the indicator light appeared, I guessed when the battery was ready. I attached a charging cord to it which I had left over from another application & it seemed to work better, but still it was slow. If you were out away from electric service or if the world collapsed and nobody has electric service this charger would be worth it's weight in food (that's because gold would also be worthless) I also augmented my rechargeable battery collection with a plug in recharger model which is very fast.

UPDATE: It's been hardly 2 months since I am using this device in my small car and I already have loose contact problems. It fits fine in the socket but in the last couple of weeks I have been experiencing problems. Slight touch while driving and it stops charging the phone. This is despite me not removing it from the socket often. I guess the circumference of this device is not good to prevent such problems. Not recommending product anymore. Reducing the rating also.

The wire is a little too thin and scary but its fine if you handle with care. I had a similar one for my Nokia (another brand) that also had a same size wire but still lasts (over 2yrs now).

Would definitely recommend this product. The USB option at the end of device is definitely a plus given the price I bought this one for.

If I was able to give it a zero star rating I would. It looks cool, it glows blue.....that's what attracted me to it. But it never makes good contact in the cigarette lighter or the other two power outlets I have in my truck. I'm constantly having to unplug and replug it. Any time you pull the retractable cord out it loses power and you have to unplug and replug it. I tried it in my other car and had the same problem, so it is not the vehicle's power outlet. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! You will be buying a huge frustration and a safety hazard while driving.

BlackBerry 12V/24V Automotive Charger

This product appears to be a genuine original equipment Blackberry car charger. It has the Blackberry name and logo on it. The plate on the bottom of the cigarette lighter plug of the unit states that the electric output is 5 volts, 500mA (500 milliamperes or .5 ampere). The plate on the wall charger packaged with a new Blackberry 8800 states that the wall charger output is 5 volts, .75 ampere. Thus, it appears that the car charger produces two thirds the electrical charge produced by the wall charger (.5 vs. .75 amp.)

This car charger is used with a Blackberry 8800 and has performed admirably and without any problems. It costs a fraction of the price charged by AT&T ($29.99), apparently for the same product.

This works great with my wife's Blackberry Pearl. Now that she has Bluetooth in her car, she really needed a way to keep the phone charged while on the road. This does the job as expected.

I have been using my Blackberry Curve for almost 2 years and only 3 times have I been able to run the battery to empty in one day. This battery lasts forever! The specs alone look very good compared to the optima batteries. It's got the same versatility as the optima batteries whether you want to lay it on the side or straight up. For the size, they should be able to output a little more CCA but if you're using it for an audio system or a lowrider this type of battery would work great. If you have a lot of space in the trunk, there are a few other options if you want to go bigger. I think they look great for your show car too! So i have a 2002 Gmc Sonoma i have air ride suspension on the truck so with 8 valves, 2 vi air compressors, and my Kicker sound system the Optima red top just could not hang with my truck. This product works well unlike others that seem to fail after a few uses. The blue lighted rim is a really neet feature becsuse it helps you find the adapter in the dark. If you need two USB power sources out of your car's cig-adapter, I recommend this one.

Waste of time and money since this car charger isn't compatable with the Navigon 6310 as stated. This car charger adapter fits into the Navigon, however the Navigon screen is blank. I have now ordered the Navigon car charger through the Navigon website. I guess you get what you pay for in this case. PS the issue isn't with the Navigon GPS since my old charger still works. The old cord has a short in it and needs to be held in a certain position in order for it to work properly. At least I can use the old cord for the time being, but this Duragadget is useless with the Navigon. I'm hoping to get a refund.

it serves the purpose, but the cord isnt long enough to reach from where i want my gps to hang from my windshield, so it not in my veiw while driving. i wished i knew how long it was before i purchased it. now i'll have to purchase a charger again and dang spend more money for longer charging cord. not to happy on length.

This product I installed myself. I used a rubber grommet in my dash to fill the drill hole I made to get the cable through. It looks very professional. I have had no problems yet. My only concern is the gauge of wire used. It appears to be around a 22ga. wire setup and I would have preferred at least 18 if not 16 gauge wire. Time will tell if it holds up, but so far so good. The next best setup I found online was around $30.

I bought this for use on my Harley with my TomTom XL and the fit was so so. It said it would fit, and it did with a little tweak. I had to use a Dremel tool and sand the rubber/plastic connector end to make it fit easily into my TomTom. Other than that it has been great.

Shipped on time, opened it up, installed it in about 2 minutes on my Ninja 650 and it works with no problems at all with my tom tom and with my DroidX using a mini usb to micro usb converter I got a radioshack.

No prob. the install was easy and works like a charm. The only thing they sould do is make the line to the battery about 6 inches longer for extra leway in routing the line.

Good:

-Small

-my understanding is that you can get wall and car chargers that work with the same variety of tips

Bad:

-seems like the plug that plugs into the tip could break easily. It hasn't broken, but I feel like I have to be very careful with it. I lay it carefully on a flat service and don't move it when I'm using it to charge. I don't put it in my pocket. I don't store it with the tip attached. I have to keep the tip and device in a ziplock bag since I'd lose the tip. Iit just makes it awkward.

I like it, but it would be amazing if there was a cover that was big enough to cover the end with the tip attached. The shape of a deoderant cover would work great since this has that oval shape. If there was something like that included, it would be a definate buy. It's still a definate buy if you need something for camping or whatever.

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand it allows you to charge devices with 2 AA batteries. On the other hand it is very ridged and feels like it could break at any moment. If they would have included a short cord on the end rather than the hard plastic tip that the "tips" go on this would be MUCH better. Look at the pictures and realize that the tip plugs into the unit and the phone, ipod, etc plugs into the tip. Basically you have to set your device down while this is charging it because otherwise it feels clunky. It does do what I needed it to do though...now I wish the extra tips weren't so overpriced.

I did NOT like this charger and ended up throwing everything that came with it out! I bought a $20 charger kit at Target which I thought was too much so I found this on amazon for everything that came with it with my Target purchase, so I was going to return my Target charger purchase to get my $20 back but I realized when I had this charger in my phone, my phone (is a touch-tone phone with a touch tone screen) it didn't work, I couldn't access anything. I was very annoyed and glad I only paid $5 total for this so I guess the saying goes for this charger kit, "you get what you pay for."

Bought this with hopes of using it as a charger for my phone/ipad; however, I have yet to get it to charge anything thus far. Contrary to the previous review, this cell does not work unless it is used in maximal/ideal light conditions, such as the hot Arizona sun (where I live). I sincerely doubt it will work in any low light environment, such as an overcast day etc. The only time I've been able to get this thing to register any kind of measurable power has been in direct sunlight when placed on the windshield of my car (I suspect the heating of the cell via the hot windshield is the primary contributor to this). Also, the wires connecting this cell to phones etc. are low quality, especially considering the price of this thing. I do not reccomend it at all. Spend less and get a polySi cell.

I have seen a lot of solar products on the market that claim to charge cell phones. Unfortunately most of them rob your phone of power, not charge it. The Nomad was able to charge my phone almost as quickly as plugging it into the wall. It came with the most popular tips for all of my devices including the iphone. the great part was that it even worked in low light situations. I would recommend this product because of how well it works. It doesn,t need perfect sun to work, and it will charge everything. A+
