Cobra MicroTalk CXT225 20-Mile 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Radio

Cobra MicroTalk CXT225 20-Mile 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Radio
  • 20 Mile Range, 22 Channels & 121 Privacy Codes
  • 10 Channel NOAA radio & Hands-free operation (VOX)
  • 8 Rechargeable AAA batteries, and a 2 port desk charger included
  • Maximum range extender and belt clip included for maximum efficiency and carrying ease
  • Lead-Free Packaging

We purchased these to use on a cruise we were taking. When they first arrived there were several things I was grateful for. They fit very nicely in your hand and are easy for kids and adults to use. The charging plug uses one outlet but charges both devices at the same time (which is huge on a cruise ship with limited outlets).

Trying them out around town and they worked great. I sure wasn't going 20 miles but had no trouble going a couple of miles in the suburbs. On the cruise ship I was surprised at just how well they worked. We were unable to go from the top deck to the very bottom deck but could get pretty close. It made the whole trip much easier with less planning.

They provide lots of functions with a wide variety of channels and we never had an issue. The lock feature was nice so the kids didn't accidentally change channels but you do need to remember to unlock it before you are able to turn it off.

Overall, a great value for the cost, if your looking for long distances you will need to spend more.

Buy Cobra MicroTalk CXT225 20-Mile 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Radio Now

First off, anyone who knows radios knows no radio of this size and output can achieve the range they claim in the city, mountains, or forested areas. If you are on a lake, you can expect very good range. Anywhere else, forget it. So, I didn't expect anything else from these.

These are my third pair of Cobras. I bought my first pair 8 years ago and they are still working well. I keep them for emergency communication for our neighborhood's disaster preparedness committee. In our last mock exercise we used them to coordinate neighbor safety checks up to a range of two miles. They worked quite well.

Cobra is a well made radio. My only dislikes in the 225's are:

#1the volume control button. I prefer the kind with a volume knob on the top to turn the volume up and down with a twist of a knob, like my first and third pair have, and these radios are a little small for my big hands. Other than that, they are as good as any other I have had.

#2Cobra has downsized the batteries from AA to AAA making battery change-outs more frequent than before.

#3The rechargeable batteries are useless, in my opinion, especially in the field where recharging is not an option. First, they take way too long to charge in-radio, and they die quickly. I use alkaline batteries exclusively. I buy a brick of batteries at Costco. Much better in my opinion. If you insist on rechargeables, then buy another set and a charger for them to keep on charge while you wear down the current set in less than 8 hrs (standby time).

#4Unlike some (much) more expensive hand held radios, you cannot use your Cobras while they are on the charger. That's too bad because these radios make excellent VOX operated "baby" monitors. Our ten year old granddaughter recently had back surgery requiring her to stay in bed upstairs for several days. The batteries always died overnight, so she had to wake up and send her little sister downstairs to get her mother or dad. Plugging them in renders them useless, so again we resorted to high quality alkalines.

I have been using this product for a while, and it is working fine, except for the range is no where near the 20 miles. I would say it works within 1 mile, and that's about it. Otherwise, it is a good product with no other problems.

I received these only yesterday, and tried them out right away. I'm impressed by their look and feel. They're very compact, the buttons are all rubber, and the screen is clear and easy to read, especially when its' display light is on. This radio is very easy to figure out. The mode/power and channel buttons are used to change almost all of the settings. When broadcasting, a volume setting of about 6 (out of 8 max) is loud enough to hear my broadcasts from other radios very well. The wx band has MUCH higher volume than communication bands. Do yourself a favor, and before switching to the weather band, TURN THE VOLUME DOWN. I almost broke my eardrums by leaving the volume on 8 while switching to wx.

After 10 seconds of no communication, these go into battery saver mode. The manual says they go 8 hrs on a full charge. I read 10 hours on a review posted by an owner. The only thing I don't like about these radios, is the fact that there is no battery life indicator. The only thing it has is a low battery level indicator. So until the included rechargeable AAA batteries hit that low power, you have no idea where they're at. The batteries take 15hrs to fully recharge.

I tested the range of these only slightly. I communicated to someone in my house while i walked approximately .4 of a mile on a winding road down a very steep hill , with tall trees, terrain, and apartment buildings as obstacles. In other words, in no way was it line of sight. My voice was clear for the person all the way on both frs and gmrs channels.

Finally, the length, including the antenna, is about 5.75 inches. The body alone is about 3.90 inches, and the width at its' widest point is 2.50 inches. I would definitely recommend these radios, as they are inexpensive, and surpass my expectations. I plan on using these for shopping trips with family, and while caravanning.

Edit after 1 week of use: I've upped my rating from 2 stars to 3. Read on for details...

As others have mentioned, these radios, like all other FRS radios, won't communicate further than 2-3 miles in hilly terrain when used in FRS mode (note that these radios do have a more powerful "GMRS" mode that will probably allow communication over greater distances, but which requires an FCC license to use!)

The rechargeable batteries (300 mAh each) included with these radios are pitifully weak they do not last a full day when the radio is used continuously. I have ordered a set of Eneloop Batteries (800 mAh each almost 3 TIMES the capacity of the originals!) to replace them, but suspect the radio's charger probably won't work with the eneloops, due to a sensor contact in the battery compartment to sense only the ORIGINAL batteries. I will update this review once I find out for sure.

Setting these radios up to work with other FRS radios is not as complex as I had originally thought, PROVIDED YOU READ THE MANUAL IN DETAIL! The trick is understanding that there are TWO DIFFERENT TYPES of privacy codes (CTCSS codes and DCS codes)! Setting up channel 11 to use digital code 27 is not enough; you have to be sure the 27 you've selected is the same privacy code TYPE used on your other radios!

The squelch on these units should be adjustable. Granted there's a way to manually disable the squelch, but it's clunky and a squelch adjustment would be much better.

I don't like the fact that the charger plugs into the headphone jack! So you cannot use/listen to these radios while they are charging!

----------

I have two pretty significant gripes with these radios for use on the FRS band that you'll definitely want to consider before you make your purchase. Note that I did NOT use the radios on the more powerful GMRS band.

I bought these radios to use while skiing with my parents and brothers families. We like to be able to ski separate trails, then hook up back at the bottom, and FRS radios are GREAT for this. Both brothers and my Dad already had various other FRS radios, so I bought these assuming they'd be easy to set up to the same channel and code as everyone else's. Bad assumption. The instructions are not super-clear, and there's a single "Mode" button that forces you to cycle through every setting just to make a change to the setting you're interested in. Add to that the fact that the instructions are very brief, and there's nothing explaining how to match these radios to other FRS radios and you can plan for this to take at least an hour and probably more time than that (if you're ever able to get them to talk to the other brand radios)!

After much frustration I finally managed to get them working with everyone else's. I then plugged the radios in and charged them overnight (about 12 hours). In the morning when I left to ski, my radio indicated a full charge. By 3 PM the radio was nearly dead. But not quite dead... I could still receive, but could not transmit; instead of transmitting, the radio double-beeped at me whenever I pressed the transmit key. As a result, I was unable to hook back up with my ride at the end of the day, and had to resort to paying $11 at the base lodge ski shop for 4 AAA Duracels with which I was able to connect back up and get a ride home.

One other annoyance is that when the radios are in "Locked" mode (which prevent accidentally changing the settings) you can't tune to the weather band you have to "unlock" the radio to listen to the weather.

I'm charging these radios again tonight, this time with them turned off (I think they were on while charging last night)... so we'll see if they last any longer... but until I find out for sure, I'm carrying my $11 spare Duracell AAA batteries with me...

Kudo Solar Case with HDMI for iPad2 / iPad3 - Pink

Kudo Solar Case with HDMI for iPad2 / iPad3 - PinkGot this for my wife, who loves anything solar.

It's heavy... And works well as an external battery.

Had to "spank" the unit to re-charge. So, that works.

But we've yet to be successful having the unit charge

the battery from the solar PV array. If I can get the

PV array to work, then I'll revisit this review, and update...

Until then, it's just an expensive heavy external battery.

GTMax Black Home Travel Charger for Sandisk Sansa Clip Plus 4GB 8GB

GTMax Black Home Travel Charger for Sandisk Sansa Clip Plus 4GB 8GB
  • Brand new generic charger.

I have a Sandisk sansa clip+ MP3 player. Before I bought this AC charger I had to connect it to my PC's USB port to charge it and it took about 2 hours to fully charge. Now I can use this AC charger to charge the sansa clip+ instead of leaving the PC on until it's charged. The charger works as I expected and I am satisfied with it. It arrived in the regular mail about 6 days after I ordered it.

Buy GTMax Black Home Travel Charger for Sandisk Sansa Clip Plus 4GB 8GB Now

This cord works well, and it is well worth it to have a wall charger. Its protable, and easy to use. Its a charger that works for more than just my Sansa, it also works for other devices I have that have the same plug in. It is not of very sturdy construction though. I guess you get what you pay for. The charger I bought only lasted a few months before it broke. It has been held together with tape and glue. I finally have to by another one. Over all, its lasted about 6 months, but I did us it every day . . .

In response to the one star review, the problems described are not the charger cord, but the device. If the Sansa is ON and playing when turned off or when the battery dies, then when you turn it on or plug it in, it does automatically starts playing. You have to pause it before turning it off for it to be paused and not playing when you plug it in. I'll admit, this is frutrating, but only when I'm listening to audio books that will just keep on playing if I don't pay attention and check when I plug the thing it. But, as I said, its the device, not the charger that does this. Also, I have this cord, and it still charges when the screen goes dark. You have to leave it plugged in for a whlie, though. It does seem as if the battery life graphic on the Sansa Clip isn't accurate. It says its full or has charge left, when it doesn't. But again, this is the device and not the charger . . .

Used the charger for the first time yesterday for my Sansa Clip (which I LOVE!!!). Battery was getting low but not totally out. Took about 3 hours to fully charge. Bought the charger in case my computer crashes. Good item for the price. Arrived (as usual with Amazon) within a few days.

I bought this hoping to charge my sandisk sansa clip plus 4gb. Right out of the box, it didn't work. The return shipping would cost me more than the refund on the item. It is disappointing that I can't return the garbage that Amazon and it's seller has sent me. Completely conned.

Fits my 8GB Sansa Clip, but couldn't get it to work in my 4GB Sansa Clip. Had to purchase a specific one that fit the 4GB

OEM Original Rapid Car Vehicle Auto Plug in Battery Charger for Sprint Motorola ES400s - Debut i856

OEM Original Rapid Car Vehicle Auto Plug in Battery Charger for Sprint Motorola ES400s - Debut i856 - Motorola ATRIX 4G - US Cellular Motorola ELECTRIFY - Cell PhoneI have purchased this product for work in the past and it works well so when i need more, I just purchased the same item again.

I used a lot of various car charger and this one works great. I will buy it again.

I suppose this charger is fine for what it is, but it is advertised to fit "US Cellular Motorola ELECTRIFY" (which is the exact phone I have). I pulled it out while on vacation to use it, and it did NOT fit -the end to plug in the phone was the wrong shape! Thank goodness for Walmart, as I was able to go there and find a charger to fit my phone, but that means I totally wasted my money on this one!

UPG BATTERY REPL PX12072 F2 TERMINALS 12V 7.2AH

UPG BATTERY REPL PX12072 F2 TERMINALS 12V 7.2AHI bought this as a replacement for my Verizon box. The battery was easy to install and it made the beeping stop, so I assume it worked just fine. When I bought it I wasn't sure it was the correct replacement for the Verizon unit, so I'm glad that it was.

I bought this to replace a battery in a Verizon FIOS battery backup unit. Fit perfectly, very quick delivery. I'm a satisfied customer.

Buy UPG BATTERY REPL PX12072 F2 TERMINALS 12V 7.2AH Now

This battery seemed to be fairly priced. It was delivered in a timely manner and was easy to install in my Verizon FiOS Optical Network Terminal (ONT) as a backup power supply for digital voice phone service in case of power outage. The only negative experience is that battery lasted less than five months before weakening to point where alarm goes off every few minutes until battery is replaced. I recently discovered chargers for these batteries and will likely opt to give that a try before purchasing another battery. (Not sure why Verizon doesn't have some kind of trickle charger built into system since battery is not used until there is an outage.)

UPDATE: I wish I had better researched this before buying a replacement & disposing of original battery. Instead of buying a charger specifically for this battery, I removed it from the system and recharged it with my Schumacher battery charger on 2-amp Slow Charge setting (a gentle trickle charge for charging and maintaining small batteries). After returning to 100%, reinstalled and working fine. Will continue to monitor battery for its ability to hold charge & overall life.

This battery does not have F2 terminals. They are F1, and two small converters change the F1 to F2. One converted quickly and easily, the other took some work and pliers. I would have prefered a battery with F2 terminals as this one was described, as I specifically did NOT order a battery with converters. Be careful when you unwrap the package, the converters are small and just loose in the wrapping took a while to find the second one. But the battery fits and works well, just wish it was as described.

Mobile Warming Classic Softshell Men's Snow Snowmobile Jacket - Black / 2X-Large

Mobile Warming Classic Softshell Men's Snow Snowmobile Jacket - Black / 2X-LargeOk so I'm not bagging on warmth from an electric jacket, but you have 4 settings. Instead of incrementing slowly and managing the warmth responsibly, it's basically a warm to scalding hot jacket. Warm works most of the time so I am happy with it's use in some situations.

1. Walking around town on 25% setting and the temp outside being around 40 F. It's good! My face might be cold, but my core is nice and warm in a pleasant way. It does however take a while to feel like it's warmed up at the lowest setting. Give it 20 minutes just to get going. After that you should be good.

2. On the motorcycle with an outer layer (in my case a leather jacket) I can ride comfortably on 50% setting with the temp being around 45 F. You need gloves and good leg ware (and of course a helmet) and it's comfortable and you really feel like it'll handle anything...until it cools off more the next week. Once you go above 50% to the 75% it has the potential to burn your skin. This is through a shirt we're talking about. I haven't tried through a sweater. That may be what they are intending. I don't know. There are no instructions that come with it that would give guidelines. From my experience, during a 3 minute ride a 75% it's going to burn you and it's going to hurt for a couple days. Be careful.

If you want to deal on the lower range or play around with layers, then you may find this a good investment. I personally am a little disappointed that they don't go up more gradually with the temperature. I'll play around some more, but it doesn't have the diverse functionality I was anticipating.

Overall: It's good, but not great. It's definitely a risky purchase since you can't return it once the tags are off. This is still new technology, so I have hope they'll continue to improve. I think this is a good around town layer, so if you just want it for walking it's a recommend (I know it seems like I'm bagging on it a lot, but my main reason for buying was for the motorcycle) just be careful with the higher settings!

Thanks for reading.

RoadPro 12-Volt Portable Stove, Black

RoadPro 12-Volt Portable Stove, BlackIt really gets old eating fast food while out on the road.I'm a trucker and thats all they have in most travel centers. On Christmas my girlfriend got me this, and its the best gift I could have gotten. This is a tackle box stove, and its mainly a food warmer. This will get pretty hot also, and after plugged in for only 10 minutes the bottom plate has plenty of heat.I can pull into a rest area, throw some hot pockets or burritos in it.Then head down the road and then pull over and have lunch in about an hour. This stove saves me a whole lot of money as well,as i really don't have a need to eat out when I'm on the road.In the morning i can put some sausage biscuits in it and in 30 min. there piping hot.As for dinner i can warm up leftover pizza, lasagna, soups, or pretty much any frozen food and it comes out great. If theres any negative thing to this stove,I'm not sure what it would be.Its prefect for a someone running solo or a team.So if you want to eat healthier on the road or just to be able to bring some real good food with you, this would be the item to have.

UPDATE 4/11I need to to let people know i am still enjoying my stove.I'm able to pull over put my food in my stove, and about an hour later its done.I was getting burned out on hotpockets,so found other great things to cook.miniature pizzas for 45 min.(butches pizza) work great in this, you might need to trim it though.Chicken wings for 60 min.(walgreens premade)work great in this too,and a nice treat for me.campbells chucky soups for 60-90 min. using loaf pans lined with foil, our great to have as well.I like the clam chowder & chicken gumbo sausage soups.BBQ sandwiches work great in this too,i buy lloyds premade pork for 45 min.,and a package of buns and i'm set for the week.Mozzarella sticks & cheddar poppers for 45 min.our a nice treat as well. This stove really saves me a whole lot of money and being a long distance trucker,it gives me a chance to have something decent when i'm gone.

I want o start by saying the image shown doesn't really look like the Roadpro I got, the one pictured looks cheaply made and flimsy. The one I got looks much better built. Also there are no tins, not a big deal as I had some already (and I recommend getting some they will be handy)

That said this thing is awesome! I pre-made a few breakfast burritos to heat up while we were out in the Mts on a day trip. I got out my little stove to give it a try, grabbed my burrito out of the ice chest and about 10mins later had a hot meal and I do mean hot! This thing definitely lives up to the 300 degrees.

Two things to note:

1. The bottom of the stove gets fairly warm. I only had it on for 15-20mins at a time so I can't say how hot it would get but it was hot enough I took notice.

2. I felt the need to flip my burritos as it heated more on the bottom than the top. Stacking two to three didn't work well either. There was plenty of room but the ones on top didn't get hot, they might have got a little warmer but not much.

Buy RoadPro 12-Volt Portable Stove, Black Now

I work for the Fire Department Emergency Medical Services and always find it very difficult to have lunch since we are not given a lunch break. So, now I can just heat up my food while working and have a nice hot home made meal as soon as I have a chance instead of waiting for take out fast food. Trust me that now in this difficult times 911 is very busy and sometimes we dont even make it to a fast food restaurant. So its also a very smart way to save money for those of us working on the road.

Read Best Reviews of RoadPro 12-Volt Portable Stove, Black Here

It was so nice to have a hot meal on the outing. Beware, it draws a little over 12 amps and most car accessories are fused at 6 or 8 amps (at least the ones I've seen). I custom built my Accessory line and made it heavy duty for a 20 amp service so I was OK from the start. The unit says it runs at 144 Watts, and my ammeter agreed (12V X 12A =144W). Definately use the foil trays and consider using extra foil in those trays to cover whatever you have in them to keep it from spilling if the stove gets knocked around at all.

The items in the bottom of the tray were scorched (hot dogs) the first time I used the stove, and they were really hot after about 1/2 hour or so. The second day I added some water into the bottom of the stove (under the tray) and it was perfect...no scorching, and still really hot. I can hardly wait to try it again and come up with different things to heat up.

Jawbone PRIME JBT02 Bluetooth Headset - Retail Packaging - Red

Jawbone PRIME JBT02 Bluetooth Headset - Retail Packaging - RedThere's not much to say. It's a bluetooth headset. It does what it should. But if you're looking for a scarlet/red product as described, don't purchase it -it's actually magenta/hot pink. Major disappointment, as this was the reason I purchased it.

Back around 2004 I was given a Jabra bluetooth headset as part of a conference goodies bag. In late 2009 I bought my wife and me Jawbone Prime headsets. They're terrible! I went back to the older Jabra I received free--it has much better audio quality, both in and out, than the Jawbone. Jawbones claim to cancel noise better than other headsets; don't believe it. The Jawbone is marketing hype and status without substance.

Retractable Rapid Car Charger With IC Chip for LG Versa VX9600

Retractable Rapid Car Charger With IC Chip for LG Versa VX9600At first when I saw the price I was a bit skeptical on buying it but seeing how I bought a case for my sister from the company too I figured I might as well buy this car charger. It works, functions nicely and is retractable. It hasn't broken down on me or anything so this is more than a steal. I mean just look at the price. I'm happy that I bought this and it is way cheaper than going to the store.

This charger does just what it is supposed to do. I like the retractable cord feature and it stays plugged in even while talking on the phone. My previous charger never had a great connection and would constantly fall out of place if I happened to be talking on the phone while using it. I'd recommend this charger especially when you consider the savings!

When I first found this, I was a total skeptic. After looking at the price, I figured I could spare the 30 cents. I've never seen a retractable charger before, but it is awesome! I can slip it in my purse and not have coils wrapping around everything, its great.

I love the retractable feature... and for the price it worked well....but it lasted less then a year (spring function on inside broke and got lodged). I didnt even use it very often, only emergency charges. I guess you do get what you pay for. Company doesn't warranty past 30 days. For the price I may purchase again.. might last until Im up for a phone update..

Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate Charger

Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate ChargerThere are so many sketchy sellers selling phone chargers out there, that it can be a bit scary. The problem is that if the charger is poorly made, the output of the charger can be out of spec and can, in some cases, fry the phone you connect to it.

For that reason, when it comes to phone chargers, you should stick to name brands. (They are all made in China, but the name brand ones are usually subject to stricter QA).

When I found this charger on Amazon, SOLD BY AMAZON, I jumped on it. It's a MICRO USB car charger, made for Motorola and sold under the Motorola name, in retail packaging. The rated output is 4.75-5.25V and 950mA.

This charger should work fine with most any phone that uses the MICRO USB connector. The key number to pay attention to is the second one, the rated amperage. This is the MAXIMUM amount of current that the phone can request from the charger. A typical USB port on a PC provides as little as 100mA, and few provide more than 500mA. So this charger should charge your phone faster than when it's connected to a PC. A few phones out now can use up to 1000mA. But that just means they CAN use that amount. If 950mA is provided, they'll still charge, just a bit more slowly.

Note that the amperage (second number) merely tells you how much the charger CAN supply, if requested. The phone itself is responsible for asking for the current. That is to say, if this charger can provide 950mA, but your phone can only use 300mA--no problem. Your phone asks for 300mA and the charger provides all of what is requested. If, on the other hand, your phone can use 1000mA, this charger will provide all it can, which is 950mA--a wee bit less than the max asked for. That's also not a problem; it just means your phone will charge a little bit (not much in this case) more slowly. The rated voltage for this charger is presented in a range of 4.75-5.25V. The "ideal" voltage for a USB charger of any type if 5V. And most chargers for home use are rated right at 5V. But car chargers work in a noisier environment and thus you have the range. This is where a cheapo charger can really do damage, as some of them are poorly regulated and can provide voltages that are WAY out of spec. Again, when you can get a name brand charger from a seller you can trust (Amazon) for such a reasonable price, it's very foolish to consider the cheapo no-names.

This is an excellent quality name brand travel micro USB charger at a price that beats the no-name junk from third party sellers. What's not to like?

BE SURE TO ORDER IT FROM AMAZON AND NOT ONE OF THE THIRD PARTY SELLERS, as some of those have been known to make mistakes with respect to what they ship relative to the listing. I can confirm that Amazon is shipping the P513 /89143N charger, as pictured.

I use my Droid Incredible as my primary GPS car navigator, so I needed a car charger that could keep up with the power needs of Google Maps with the GPS running. The Belkin USB adapter says it puts out 1A, but my Incredible showed that is was only getting a trickle-charge (500 mA) from it, because the Belkin charger does not implement the latest USB charger standard (short the data pins for a fast charge).

This charger shows up as an AC charger on my Incredible, and it is able to charge my phone even while I am using it for GPS navigation. Recommended for any newer phone that uses a micro-USB connector.

The version of this charger shipped to me is a knock-off. There is no Motorola sticker, the micro-USB connector end is a snap-together part, rather than overmolded like the real version. The PVC cable overmold is mis-shaped, the contact springs are weak and the fit and finish of the plastic parts are low quality. So, it is just a car charger, right? Maybe. But what if the electronics are sub-standard also? What if the PVC overmold is contaminated as well? I am going to return this item and not plug it into Wife's phone.

First things first: IF (and that's IF) you get the genuine OEM Motorola charger listed here, the SPN5400/P513/89143N, it works great with modern smart phones like the Motorola Droid, The Incredible, The Google Nexus One, etc. Basically, if your phone has a micro USB connector (and almost all of the newer generation smart phones do), then this is the charger for you.

That said: Not every seller is selling the right item. There are lots of reports of people getting the wrong charger (I've had this happen myself). Your best bet: Amazon, who not only IS selling the correct charger, but has the best price, when you factor in shipping, provided you qualify for free shipping from Amazon (either with Prime, or if your order is > $25).

The Amazon-as-seller listing for this charger can be found here, at least at the time of this review. Search through the sellers to find Amazon. Their price, if you get free shipping from Amazon, is the cheapest, or close to it. And you are guaranteed of getting the correct item, brand new, retail.

OK, that said, here's the rest of my review:

One last note: This charger is alternatively sold as the P513, the 89143N OR the SPN5400. These numbers all refer to the same charger. A different product number is assigned depending on the channel through which the charger has been sold. But they are all the same.

This charger is so much better value than the overprice charger Verizon sells for the Droid. It's a standard micro USB port on the Droid and this charger charges the phone flawlessly. Nice blue light, very well made, professional look, great price.

GTMax Metalic Silver 2-Port Dual USB Car Charger Adapter - 2A 10W output For Smartphone, GPS, MP3 P

GTMax Metalic Silver 2-Port Dual USB Car Charger Adapter - 2A 10W output For Smartphone, GPS, MP3 Player, Cellphone and moreThis is a pretty simple item, a small two usb DC adapter with a small red LED to let you know when it's drawing power. Unlike some of the competition it does not come with cables or anything else, just the adapter in a plastic bag. One of the outlets is 2.1 amps, the other is 1 amp, so you can charge two items at the same time such as a cell phone and a tablet. What I like about this item is that it is much smaller in size than others I have used with two usb outs so it doesn't take up much room in your glovebox and will not take up a lot of space around your cigarette lighter plug. I also appreciate the low cost. My experience with DC adapters is that they tend to die after a year or so anyhow. Although I would rather pay more and have one that lasts since I can't seem to find one I would rather get an inexpensive unit knowing that I will probably have to replace it on a daily basis.

Update: this unit would only recharge my cellphone ( a Nexus GSM ) using the 2 amp outlet and would only charge my Samsung Tab 7 Plus, Asus Transformer or iPad 3 in trickle mode when they were turned off, making it absolutely worthless. The brand I had purchased from Amazon before could charge my phone and the Tab at the same time while they were on, but it burned out after two months. Maybe it's just impossible to find one of these that will charge both at the same time and last a while. Anyway, I am returning this and trying yet another brand maybe my luck will change.

Worked great on first usage, but when I tried to use it a second time it made a whining noise and then smelled burnt. It was at this point that I figured the fuse had popped, but when I opened up the unit there was no fuse! From the look of the inside they never intended to put a fuse in it which is stupid. Do not buy!

For Navigon 2100 2120 5100 MAX GPS Portable Travel USB Plug-in 12V Car Charger

For Navigon 2100 2120 5100 MAX GPS Portable Travel USB Plug-in 12V Car ChargerThis is basically a cell phone charger for phones with a mini usb connector. It did not charge the Navigon nor was I able to use the GPS while it was plugged in to this charger. Connecting the charger to the unit makes the GPS think it connected to a computer and would not operate for direction. Do not buy if you are looking to replace the power cord for a Navigon!

I was looking for Navigon 2100 car charger. I ordered this item because It is clearly mentioned that it should be use for Navigon 2100 GPS but when I connect this charger to my GPS, GPS went to Computer mode that means I can charge my GPS but cannot use it. There is no use of this GPS car charger if I can't use it while driving my car. What a waste product. Never ever buy it.

Schumacher XC6 SpeedCharge 6 Amp Battery Charger

Schumacher XC6 SpeedCharge 6 Amp Battery ChargerPicked one of these up last weekend as I had a rather large dead car battery in a vehicle that hadn't been driven in a few months.

The manual covers several different models but shouldn't confuse most anyone.

A red light comes on at the battery connection symbol to show you have it connected correctly

A yellow charging (lightning bolt) light comes on once you select a charge rate (turtle/rabbit symbols).

A green battery level light comes on once the battery is fully charged. It won't light up until it is finished charging.

I let the battery charge overnight and it indicated a full charge the next day. Battery has been working fine in vehicle for a week since charging.

It has a built-in fan that kicks on while charging. Not loud, but does make audible sound.

I picked this model due to good reviews of the Schumacher brand, and the fact that it has temperature sensor and will go to a trickle charge when the battery is full thanks to the microprocessor control. I certainly didn't want to boil out what was probably still a good battery with an old style "dumb" charger. Automatically desulfates the battery which is good too.

I hope to get many years of occasional use out of the device.

I'd recommend it.

All my battery chargers were lent to son-in-laws who never returned them. This time I was glad. I lucked out and got this one for $21 at Walmart. Supposedly if you put the clips on the wrong terminal nothing will happen or it you touch the clips together. Well I am not brave or stupid enough to try it so I do not know.

If the clips are on the right post you will get an idiot light telling you so. It is only when the clips are on properly that it will start supply juice to the battery. The charger does the usual charge and shut off when done or maintain the battery. You can select between different batteries by pushing the button. I charged a lawn tractor battery. It shows red when it is dead, and green when it is good to go. It is pretty idiot proof for this idiot.

I've been using this product for about 6 months and it has performed each time I used it. I do quite a bit of fishing and the batteries I use need to be recharged as close as possible after their use to keep them in peak shape. The charger has 2 modes, a slow and a fast charge. I use both modes and each perform as I need them to. I would recommend this product to those RV'ers, boaters and the like.

Early AM two coughs and no start. That night after two great Jake's Wayback cheeseburgers, went to buy battery at 10pm at an open Walmart, lowest was over $80 dollars.

Saw this Schumacher XC6 on the shelf there for under $30.00, and they have a 90 day return policy.

In the morning, saturday, connected it to my battery. My neighbor does lots of work on his car, and told me I could safely leave the battery fully connected to the regular wires in the car, while charger is attached. It's the original battery on the 1993 BMW that has 230,000 miles on it already. The manual of the charger said it would take 3 to 4 hours on the speediest setting, which I used since I figured I might have to have the car towed to mechanic, or such. Checked it after just 90 minutes. Wow, all done!

Everything was just fine, the charger lights showed power on, and that the battery was ALREADY done charging, with the green done indicator. I unplugged all, put the key in and turned the ignition. The battery cranked loud and fast and the car started up beautifully.

Don't think twice, buy it, enjoy it. This thing is cool. Thank you Schumacher for making this great, and affordable. Thank you Walmart for stocking it and staying open late. Walmart owners give almost nothing in charity compared to great owners like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates, and Mayor Bloomberg who works for $1 a year and gives millions and millions to worthy charities. Walmart owners should wake up and give back to the US.

Go to your library for DVD: WAL-MART: The High Cost of Low Price , buy it on Amazon)

That's it. The XC6 is truely a great car battery recharging charger.
