This product is a very good spare source of power for my FPS unit. I really like the LED lights to indicate how much charge is left (and when it is fully charged). The item was delivered promptly, in good condition and I would buy from them again.

Edited/updated review: The item shipped IS NOT the same as pictured in the product listing. The cable does not have an outer jacket and consists of two very thin wires with light-weight insulation. After just 11 months of moderate-to-light use, the cable frayed and broke just where it enters the 12-volt power connector for the cigarette lighter socket. I don't believe this adapter is worth the money and would not purchase this product again.

I purchased one of these replacement power cords last October through Amazon. I was surprised to see how thin the cord was --not the same thinkness as the original Garmin cord. Despite this, I used the cord through the Winter only to have it break one morning due to the cold temperature. While I do live in New England, I still would not expect a car power cord to literally snap due to cold weather brittleness. I've never had this issue with any other mobile power cord. I attempted to contact the seller in February asking for a refund but never received any response. I ended up buying an original equipment Garmin power cord from ebay, which works fine. A bit more expensive but worth the little extra cost. Don't waste your money with this product or seller.

I ordered this in July for my Garmin c340 and it worked just as it was supposed to until this morning (in early Feb)when I went to plug it into the cigarette lighter, the cord had completely snapped off of the part that plugs in. I didn't notice any fraying previously, but I guess the wires had been fatiguing inside the insulation. I must say that I am disappointed in the durability of this product since it was well cared for and still only lasted a few months.

We were very unhappy with the quality of this garmin car charger. It worked intermittently for about two weeks then stopped working altogether.

I bought this cord as a replacement for the above GPS model. Since this is an older model, it was difficult to find the exact cord that it came with. This is the cord that fits exactly into the round opening on the GPS and plugs into the car AC adapter. The price was also within reason. Product was delivered quickly.

All Power America APG3004D 1,200-Watt 2-Stroke Gas Powered Portable Generator

This unit requires user mechanical and electrical skills to place it in an acceptable operating condition. It should not used 'as is' out of the box to provide power or charge batteries. The unit could damage connected AC devices and batteries due to poor or non existent quality control and assembly by the manufacturer. If you are looking for a 'start and go' generator then avoid this unit. If you don't mind some cleaning, adjustment, improving, modification, disassembly and reassembly then you can consider this unit worthy of your skills for a decent sale price. I inspected the unit for obvious mechanical problems and noted the 'room for improvement' issues before starting it. I used a break-in oil to gas mixture of 30:1 for the 2 stroke engine. The engine started easily on the third pull but was running rough and erratically after 15 minutes of operation. Disassembly of the carburetor revealed manufacturing debris and metal particles inside the passages, carburetor cleaner and compressed air solved those issues. Spark plug inspection showed fouling already, cleaned the plug and tested several more times, each time the plug fouled after running for 20 minutes or more. Replaced the plug with a Champion RN9YC (couldn't find a non-resistor plug) and the fouling issue stopped. So, cheap quality factory spark plug no good! Engine starts on the first pull now (after the choke pull) and runs smoothly. There is no screw adjustment on the carburetor for fuel/air mixture, an issue for rich air/fuel mixture fouling and piston carbonization if you live at high altitude (as I do). Put that on the to-do list to install a metering screw on the carburetor. Note: that spring loaded screw at the side and bottom of the carburetor is a bowl drain (grin :-p ). I tested the generator voltage outputs after getting the engine to run well and found 150 volts AC/ 30 volts DC, bad news for connected devices and batteries. The governor adjustment was set at 'good enough' allowing the engine to overspeed resulting in higher generator head voltage output. Hmmm, a test of patience at this point so far with this unit. I had to try different springs at various locations with the factory set holes on the governor arm to get good voltage output and engine RPM. The factory wiring routing and bundling for the generator head, spark plug, magneto, switches and voltage outlets was a joke, I dont think the wiring would have lasted for too long before shorting to the metallic parts from vibration and causing a disastrous problem. I installed grommets at the generator head case wiring hole (don't know or understand what the thinking was here, just a matter of time before the wires short to the case) and magneto wiring case hole, bundled and secured all the wires in a flexible sheath to prevent abrasion. The carburetor cover and air cleaner assembly is also noteworthy for having no screw stops to prevent overtightening and cracking the plastic, so I installed special oval head type inverted washers to prevent overtightening and provide plastic stress relief around the cover screw holes. The muffler was installed off center on the exhaust port due to bad welding positioning of the attachment bracket, fixed all that and stopped an intermittent exhaust leak and oil drip. Oh yes, I think a heat shield between the muffler and the gas tank would be good also (To-do list). Enough you say? Fortunately I have lots of patience and enjoy this type of work making a piece of equipment operate better than it came from the factory. The only thing I really dislike about this unit is having to remove and reinstall the gas tank constantly to get to anything underneath that needs servicing. I hope this review gives you some good insight about this unit.

Received this item fine, the All Power America APG3004D 1,200 watt 2 stroke gas powered generator. I could not start this, husband had a lot of trouble getting it to start. Once it started it ran very rough, we let it run for a time and tried to turn on a simple fan would not start. Husband is very good with mechanics and turned it off, looked it over and gave it another try. Fan still would not run. Called the company All-Power and they said I could return it no problem. I had to send an email with proof of purchase. First email I sent was not good enough, the proof had to be an attachment not a copy. Resent email and got confirmation it was ok that I would get a return authorization within 8-10 business days. Day eight I called and the rep was rude and told me that since I didn't purchase directly through them (bought at Amazon) that it would take however long it took, she repeated 8-10 business days. Day 11, still no response and called, again I had to leave a message 3 days later and I still have not received ANY communications from AP. I have turned this over to the BBB and Amazon to help. I will highly recommend that you NOT purchase anything from All-Power, check out the BBB before you do I did not and would not have if I had read the past problems others have had. although the cord powers up the garmin nuvi just fine the insertion point to the nuvi looks like an adapter that is straight out. when you plug into this and then put the nuvi on the dashboard the weight of the adapter pulling on it has bent the adapter almost 90 degrees. Would NOT buy this again. Would look for one that is bent 90 degrees at insertion already. This will probably break in a month or so. Certainly not the same one that came with the orginal product.

This thing does what it is advertised to do. It will charge your phone in your car. As a pizza delivery driver, I use my LG Optimus slider primarily for the Navigation feature. That tends to drain the battery on it pretty quick, and I can't have my phone die before the end of my shift. So I bought this thing for a solution but a few weeks later it's kinda broken. The cord that is connected to the micro USB bit that goes into the phone has separated and now it will only charge my phone if I hold in certain positions. My purpose for buying a solar charger is to charge my cell phone while I'm hiking/walking a 500 mile trail in Spain this Fall. Before I purchased the Mercury 4S charger, I tried a different solar charger because it was a little cheaper the reviews were pretty good.

The first solar charger I tried was theOpteka BP-SC4000 Ultra Thin Solar Powered High Capacity (4000mAh) Backup Battery and Charger for the Apple iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4 & 4S, iPad 1 & 2, iPod Touch 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, & 5G. Following very spare directions I charged the unit by computer via USB. It charged full in a few hours and I hooked it to my phone (a moderately priced smart phone)that was about 40% charged before I began. The Opteka unit charged my phone to 100% in about 2-3 hours. So far so good. The power left in the Opteka was diminished by half. (There were only 2 bars lit out of 4, meaning it had about half its charging capacity left.)

I tried to recharge the Opteka to 4 bars multiple times in direct full sunlight. I must have had it in full sun for 20+ hours and could only get the battery charged to 3 bars, out of 4. I sent it back.

The instructions specified that it should be left out in full sun for about 4 hours for a full charge. I laid it in full sun, per instructions, and a small green LED light lit up on the battery pack. With the Mercury 4S completely charged, I was able to recharge my phone in about 2 hours...and 2 days later, using the charge that was left, "fueled" my phone back up to 100% again. After the second phone recharge, the LED light on the Mercury 4S was red, which meant it was out of power. I placed it in full sun for 3-4 hours the next day, picked it up, and noticed that the tiny light was green and the battery was full again. And again, I was able to recharge my phone, twice.

I highly recommend this product on simply one attribute. Using only 4 hours solar exposure, this battery charger is full and ready to charge my phone, two times.

First off, let me say that this company has it right with sourcing great materials. Like using high grade mono crystalline solar panels and then having a nice non scratch/anti reflective coating.(this is a huge help when getting it to pick up even low levels of light)

Then it has a 2000 maH lithium ion battery on board that can charge my phone (which has a 1000mah battery) in the same time it takes a wall outlet. The time it normally takes from the wall is around an hour or so give or take 30 min.

For portability, it is the size of a 7" tablet or a paperback novel, so it is the smallest and most powerful charger to date for its size . This is due to using efficient materials and a methodology of keeping it simple.

User note: It has a lithium ion battery on board. So when it is a 100F out you need to cover the battery so it will not swell and blow up, or just fold the flap behind the panels.

If there is no sunlight, you still have the ability to charge the on board battery using a nokia charger that has a very thin barrel type connection. There is a rubber seal that peels off the usb and charger port to ensure it is protected from the elements. It is not water proof(submerge it in water), but it is water resistant(a light rain) and this is an awesome feature.

It has eye loops on each corner to strap this to a backpack or whatever you want to make your mobile charging platform. It is very light, robust and is half the price of similar brunton and sunlinq products(who use the lowest grade materials ie amorphous or polycrystalline solar panels). Mono-crystalline is the absolute best. Then there is nasa stuff, which is gallium Nitride, but me and you can not afford that stuff.

There is a charge indicator led on the battery pack to show the user if the battery is below 80%(Solid red LED will show) or above 80%(Solid green LED will show).

To ensure maximum life expectancy, the user should charge this manually using the nokia style charger for at least four hours. I did it over night as i do not want to sit and wait for it to be done. Then go ahead and use it as you would normally. This is not vital but will ensure you get a good base charge.

I live in Arizona so the charging results may vary slightly. As for performance, I made sure the device was completely dead by charging my phone and other usb devices. It took under 2 hours to fully charge the battery(from red led to green led)

My quick checklist:

1) High efficiency mono crystalline solar panels CHECK!

2) 2000maH battery ( twice the size of my phones current battery) CHECK!

3) Materials and workmanship is of the best CHECK!

4) If there is no sunlight, there is a backup method of charging CHECK!

5) It actually charges the on board battery and the external usb device at the same time(while exposed to the sun) CHECK! (Note: do not have your phone out in direct sunlight as it will ruin it if it is a 100F out and above)

This will fit into a purse or a glove box to ensure that you will always have a usb reserve to keep your vital electronics up and running and having to no longer rely on the wall plug(a wall wart).

Another main reason I chose this product is that I had purchased their larger 10W panel setup and love it. It is the bigger version of this and has no battery on board, two usb ports and is three times this size. To sum it up, the main reason I love this device is that this tool actually does what it supposed to and then some!. I would recommend this to family and friends and I feel that every dollar was well spent, even in this economy.

Very Important:

1) To ensure a quicker charge, make sure the solar panels are exposed to direct sunlight. For example: if the sun is directly above you at noon, lay the panel flat on the ground. This is perpendicular to the sun and means the best charging conditions.

2) Make sure it does not get exposed to anything hotter than 140F as the lithium battery will explode, just like your phone.

3)Wipe off the panels lightly to get the dust off before you fold it up again to further eliminate scratches.

4) Buy the bestek usb cable kit for like $6 on here to ensure you have all the right connections to charge this device or charge any device off this.

The product is firm, feels weather-proof, durable, and very rugged. Definitely ideal for camping or hiking, and even has a rubber plug for the USB port.

When I got this, it was much smaller and slimmer than I expected, and I said....hmm...probably won't work so well.

Your first time charging it, just charge the panel's battery, a good long time. I left mine all day in a sunny window. The green light came on, meaning a full charge. I fully charged a drained ipod touch, no problem. Today I plugged the ipod into to panel (it goes via the battery's USB), the battery light was red...as in not fully charged, the battery pack IS attached to the panel, keep in mind, so I don't know what part of the charging was from the sun and what part from the battery, but it charged it fully as quickly as a wall charger. Very impressed! My Goal Zero Guide 10 Plus is not compatible with my Ipod, via the panel itself, but their guide 10 battery pack is.... and I love that little charging kit (7 watt), but I thought to try this cheaper smaller one for fun. What's great about the Instapark, it is so tiny, I can throw it in my bag, and take it anywhere, it weighs next to nothing.

I have Instapark's Mars 100 solar panel kit too, which rapidly charges my Stanley Power Stations I use for power outs. They make a good product. Customer service, I have always gotten through right away and the tech people talk to you at length and know their products well. I'll be getting a few of these little 4 watt chargers as gifts, they are way way cool. Mine will likely live in the car's glove box, just in case of whatever, since I have the Goal Zero for home use. The little Instapark charges up super fast on the dashboard. Don't expect it to do a lot, just charge little things. It charged my cell phone, bluetooth, all pretty fast. It's adorable and cute and works! Reasonably priced and good quality.

As soon as I took this charger out of the bag it arrived in, it fell apart. Very poor construction. On the end that plugs into the car there is a metal tip and two plastic rings that are supposed to retain the metal tip. These rings just fell off and the small metal tip shot across the room when I pulled it out of the bag (the metal tip has a spring behind it to make sure it makes good electrical contact when plugged in). My recommendation don't buy it spend a few extra dollars to get someting that has at a least a little bit of quality to it and lasts more than 1 minute.

This power supply works well and is small in size. It does not have the fold out pins like some do that give trouble. The connector is very small and seems like it would be easy to break by plugging the wrong way. Having a obvious visual mark on the Garmin and the ps plug would help to get this plugged in the right way.

The product wouldn't fit my nuvi product. I had a nuvi2595 LMT model . According to a website I visited the 2460 LMT was supposed to fit most all nuvi models including the 2595 model .I called the seller and they informed me I needed a different charger and asked me to send it back . Which I did and they credited me a refund. The sellers were very helpful in telling me which model would fit and refunded my purchase price.

The lock goes on and works, but could easily be defeated by a screwdriver or any stiff key. This will keep honest people honest but would net deter a thief for more than 30 seconds. Having said that, I didn't expect high security and what this lock is is exactly what I expected. Short of a hasp & padlock I don't think you'll find anything better.

I purchased this battery to replace the 12 year old one in my APC Back-UPS 650 surge protector/battery backup unit. It is a direct (right to the brand name and specs) replacement. The only thing I had to do was bend the terminals up just a bit more for the connectors to fit and transfer the clear tab from the positive terminal of my old battery to the new one, not a problem at all just a note for others. The clear plastic tab is held on by 2-faced tape and probably is just an extra safety device from APC. I've seen many other `unknown' name replacement batteries but didn't want to gamble the safety of my computers and other electronics for the sake of a few dollars. This battery is the one you need as a -directreplacement for any APC unit's requiring a replacement battery with a part number of either `RBC3' or `Battery Cartridge #3. This is the -SAMEmanufactured battery you will get from the backup unit manufacturer except you will get it on Amazon.com for less than half the manufacturers price delivered.

I made sure my order screen said `Ships from and sold by Amazon.com' and even with the free shipping option, I had no problem receiving the correct battery.

A point of interest: These batteries are pretty much automotive batteries and are suppose to last 3-6 years under typical situations. How my original one lasted 12 years is anyone's guess but I do *NOT* recommend you try to get that much time from one. Mine was so badly expanded it was difficult to remove from the unit for replacement. Also, I have viewed a few photos of ones that expanded to the point of rupture beyond that recommended time frame. Get your battery replacement from Amazon.com and you'll save enough over buying from the manufacturer that you'll be able to replace them on time. Enjoy!

As far as recycling the old battery, you should be able to do so for free. I searched for `battery recycling' and found that most of the auto-parts stores in and around my town take these at no cost for proper recycling. Please, do the right thing.

I used this in my Verizon FiOS battery backup system. Fit properly and after an easy five minute install, it's up and running again. Unplugged the FiOS unit to test it and it seems to work fine.

Definitely recommended when you get that "Replace Battery" light on your FiOS battery backup unit.

I used this battery in a home made waterproof stereo system to carry around with me to the beach and other water activities during the summer. Its really compact and it lasts forever! I've played this thing literally all day long and never ran it down. We bought this to mount on our rv to keep the battery topped off. The mounting hardware is inadequate and there are no instructions for mounting. If you want to mount it to your RV, you will want to buy additional mounting hardware. The cord is not 11 feet long. It is only 7 feet long -not long enough to run from the roof to the battery bank in most rv's! If you need more length, guess you have to buy more parts if there are cords available or make one yourself. The panel arrived in flimsy packaging that was torn and crushed on two ends. Cost to return it to Amazon is about $29. We purchased it for $105 one day and then Amazon reduced the price by $15. Very disappointed in the product. Wish we had purchased a panel from a different manufacturer. Not happy with product and not very happy with Amazon today.

I puchased of two these kits and one additional panel to maintain my deep cycle batteries on my trailer. One came in a damaged box but was still usable. The 3 in 1 connector to enable hooking multiple panels together is almost impossible to locate from any source, including Nature Power, so I made up my own. The included charge controllers were inconsistant at best. one "kicks in" at 11.6 volts and off at 13.1 v. Another is on at 12.6 off at 13.4.Neither would begin charging at 13v and off at 14.2 as advertised. They don't provide the optimum charge rate for the my batteries but, they help.

The panels are small enough to allow mounting in confined roof areas with the included mounting kits.

The solar charge controller I was worried might be cheap, as soon as I got it (which took a while, everything else arrived Monday and this arrived thursday) I noticed the size was much smaller then how big I thought it would be, it fits inside your palm. I opened it to see what kind of circuitry is inside of it and I have definately seen cheaper made components so decided to give a go and tested the mA before and after the controller, it did seem to cut into the amount of power produced by the solar panel by at least 50 mA if not more, but the peace of mind that this controller gives is DEFINATELY worth the 12 bucks I spent.

Alligator clips are excellent

Would buy it again if I was building a setup like this again.

My RV battery kept discharging when attached to a 7 watt solar panel that I had bought. I had read somewhere that you didn't need a controller if your solar panel was less than 15 watts. I found that this was not so. So I bought this device (I actually bought two, one as a spare) and hooked it up to my solar panel.
