Peak PKC0AF 2.0 Amp 12V Automatic Semi Intelligent Float Battery Charger/Maintainer

Peak PKC0AF 2.0 Amp 12V Automatic Semi Intelligent Float Battery Charger/MaintainerWell thought out from A to Z. Comes with 3 styles of battery connector that unplug from the cord. One is on my boat, one on my lawn tractor and one on my spare battery. I rotate the charger between the 3 batteries and never have to disturb the connectors. It's tough, It's waterproof, It's Smart, It doesn't overcharge and I don't even have to think about it.

Calling this charger intelligent is kind of funny. This is just a standard automotive charger and does not work very well. My biggest concern with charger was the charger voltage which was always around 13.2V, and just not enough to recharge a 12V battery.

CTEK 56-380 Comfort Indicator Panel

CTEK 56-380 Comfort Indicator PanelIn my other reviews about the ctek chargers I explained WHY they are the best charger on the market today for lead acid 12 VDC batteries. This input jack does 3 things to help you get the most out of your ctek charger:

1 it mounts permanently into a space available on your console and gives you a 24x7 alert as to the state of your battery's charge note this is an EXACT FIT replacement for a factory din switch on many european or asian imports I installed it into an empty spot on my honda dash just by pushing in on it and the grippers held it in place simplest install all day long.

2 it hardwires directly to the battery avoiding the extra resistance from the car's fusebox (say if you used the cigarette lighter plug instead you'd be going through 2 fuses and a fusable link to the battery)

3 it is a dedicated port to plug in your ctek charger that you can locate conveniently anywhere you please in the vehicle, making the process of connecting up any one of the ctek chargers even easier.

Before I bought this I had to lift the hood (bonnet) and clip on the charger when I parked while waiting for my new battery to arrive via the pony express. Now I can just plug in the ctek and top off the charge any time. Admittedly if everything were functioning perfectly or you never had to store your car for a long period, this would not be needed, but we do not yet live in a perfect world, thus it makes life a tad bit easier.

Having used this with the ctek's optima battery setting (I also changed to an optima battery Optima Batteries 8012-021 D34 YellowTop Dual Purpose Battery so that I had some deep cycle capability on my honda) it has had a second value.

I installed an escort 9500ix radar detector at the same time Escort Passport 9500ix Radar/Laser Detector (Black). These perform better if their reference oscillator is kept at a constant temperature, so by plugging my car in at night I can keep the radar detector warm so that the next day it's database of nuisance frequencies is dead on and doesn't make any mistakes with police radar because it counts the wrong frequency as it warms up. This is true of all timebases from clocks to caesium beam frequency standards they work better when left on. The gps can also get updates about what satellites are not working well during the night so it is already running with live data when I drive out and not trying to acquire the 4 best satellites. Also if I forget to turn off the 110 VAC inverter in the car I won't have a dead battery from it draining the optima with the radar unit all night long.

I'm discovering many benefits to keeping your car plugged in, and this jack makes it exceptionally easy to do.

A very nice accompanyment to the CTEK charging system. I purchased one for each of my vehicles and even got one for my cab enclosed tractor. A good feeling always knowing the current status of your battery. My single complaint is that the length of the wire is too short by about a foot at the least. My first went into a 3/4 ton diesel (2 battery) pickup truck. I had to cut the line to thread it through the panel (firewall) separating the engine compartment and the passenger compartment. With the fuse in line, it was impossible to thread it through that space so I cut the line, threaded it through the firewall and was able to customize the install (create/cut into panelling) to the dashboard and very neatly mount the indicator panel.I did have to add at least an additional foot of cable/wire for this to work. Had to do the same for my Toyota Landcruiser. The included 5 feet of cabling is not sufficient for larger vehicles but may be OK for more compact cars..As well, most firewalls are essentially sealed which doesn't allow for the passage of the cable with the built in fuse so be prepared to cut your line and possibly add more length as I had to.. Works great once installed!! Very clean and high quality componentry..Highly recommended!

I have been a user of C-TEK battery chargers of several different models for several years. I have never had a problem with any of there products. I had seen this product awhile back and finally got around to ordering one when I started my Amazon Prime account. I hardwired it into my vehicle and installed the little panel in an opening in my dash panel in my Chevy Express van. It is working as designed as I have a 3000 Watt Pure SineWave Inverter installed and it will drain the battery sometimes if I am using it without any charger or the engine running. The only thing I am not aware of is it blinks the colors. I was under the assumption that the status lights would be solid. The little manual does not state anything about this. I will contact C-TEK to find out.

I would not hesitate to purchase this item. It acts as a great little indicator of how your charge level is, plus you can just plug the charger right into the opening port on it, which has a rubber cover.

Sirius SR4000 Orbiter Receiver Satellite Radio

Sirius SR4000 Orbiter Receiver Satellite Radio
  • Easy-to-read 6-line LCD display automatically adjusts brightness to conditions
  • Displays channel name, number, category, artist, song title and time simultaneously
  • Satellite-updated real-time clock with alarm and sleep timer
  • Song-Seek/Program alert prompts you when your favorite song or programs are playing on another channel
  • Includes a full-function wireless remote control (requires 2 "AAA" batteries for operation, not included); Radio subscription sold separately

This is one of the older (to my knowledge) Sirius units. I've had mine 3+ years. They are bigger and clunkier than many of the new models, but to me with the larger display and button size it is far easier to use and preferable. I have 5 of these in my family and have not had trouble with any of them. Mine is used in my car on my daily commute and then taken into the office to be used all day in the compatible boombox. I've looked at the new ones and while they do appear a bit more slick and sophisticated, I've decided for now I'll keep what works very well for me. FYI In two of our cars, I have the unit hidden out of sight in the center console with the antenna on the rear deck inside the car and it works well if you make certain the antenna has a good view of the sky. To me the trade off of a possible very slight degradation of performance is more than offset by the convenience of a totally inside the vehicle installation.

Pico 6380pt 50amp Batt Cable Connector

Pico 6380pt 50amp Batt Cable ConnectorI purchased 10 of these connectors so that I could make various adapters and extension cords to go between our on-board RV battery charger and the portable solar panels, wind / gas generator(s), and truck hitch connector when parked some distance from the trailer. A few of these are for spares and / or future additions to the setup. To keep line loses to a minimum, I used 10 gauge wiring and spent a lot time looking for a robust connector. Even though the most DC current I can put through them with my setup is 16 amps, the durability, wire size, and polarized connection were the key features for buying these. The Pico 50 amp connector has provided this functionality perfectly! As a very large added benefit, they are non gender connectors, meaning ALL cable ends have one of these and I can interconnect any adapter / extension cord combination that I want without ever getting into two of the same gender ends not connecting together situation! When connecting two together, there is a strong 'snap' interaction between them, leaving no doubt that they are connected securely. It does take some effort to pull them apart, but then again, that's exactly what I needed / wanted. So far these are holding up great in a RV-ing / camping environment. They have been rained on, stepped on, buried in dirt / mud, and connected / disconnected multiple times with no signs of wear. I highly recommend these! I ordered them Amazon, and they were delivered within a few days, Amazon rocks! BTW: the 10ga wiring I used is a 25 foot, heavy duty 10/3, 115VAC extension cord from the local hardware store that I cut the ends off of and re-terminated the bulk of the cable with the Pico connectors. That provides a durable, weather proof, flexible cable that is bright yellow to help prevent tripping over (and avoids being left behind because you didn't see it laying on the ground), and it was cheaper then buying 10/2 wire at $2+ per foot.

I haven't had a chance to use this yet, so I don't have any feedback on its use. However, I did want to be sure all you potential buyers read through the description more carefully than I did. Even though the description contains the word "Set," the set they refer to are the two metal contacts a set of contacts not a set of connectors. If you want to connect your wires to anything, you'll need to order TWO of these.

Buy Pico 6380pt 50amp Batt Cable Connector Now

These things are super cool. They're built so that there's no male/female part, and as long as you put the positive wire in the hole that says "plus", they'll work. The retention mechanism for the connectors is firm, but you can disassemble afterwards if you need to do so. The connectors have holes drilled through the middle so you can bolt one side down to whatever, which would be handy in several situations.

I used these to handle the power connections for a sub box which I occasionally need to move from one car to another, or to remove for more luggage space. They work great for that, and handle plenty of power for a moderately sized amplifier. The same company makes some larger connectors if you need more current capacity.

The only drawback I saw was that these are kinda hard to crimp if you don't have a heavy duty battery cable crimp tool (the kind that you usually have to hit with a hammer). I soldered the connectors onto the end of some wire instead; note that it takes a pretty healthy soldering gun (not some puny soldering iron) to heat these up. You can fit 8 gauge wire into the terminals really well; I think 10-12 gauge would actually be a little small / loose.

The only reason for the 4 stars is that the plastic seems a little thin and my not last all that long. I only use the connector about two times a month so hopefully it will last. The price was great and the shipping was very quick.

6V 4.5AH SLA Battery replaces cp0660 gp645 lcr6v4p hk-3fm4.5I purchased this lead battery to replace the battery in my high beam flashlight. It appears to hold a good charge pretty well. Belkin F8Z446 Micro Auto Charger with Charge Sync Cable for iPhone and iPod

Belkin F8Z446 Micro Auto Charger with Charge Sync Cable for iPhone and iPodLooks great. Charges just like it promises. But like a couple other reviewers wrote, it causes some radio interference in my car when it's plugged in. For two days, I was convinced that my favorite FM station had closed down and gone off the air. But after a little fumbling around, it turned out it was this charger ... plug it in, no FM reception; unplug, good reception; plug it back in, no reception. I'll probably keep this as a backup, but for now I'm using my old, bulkier charger

Pros-

It is tiny, simple and does the job. I snapped it out of the box and been using it all the time. I love the Sync Cable. I will add it to my travel pack list.

Cons-

It is tiny, darkand easy to forget or misplace. It is so small that is difficult to label! The name tag label I made for it is bigger than the Micro USB Charger unit. My old one was so large it stood out, I never had to look for it! I am going to have to give myself a reminder when traveling to pull it out of the Rental Car.

USES: Why I'd buy it I used it on my first edition iPhone and the latest one, it works reliably. I tried the sync cable to connect my iPhones to my G4, and did Syncing. It is interchangeable with my Apple sync cable.

The USB Auto Charger fits snug, flush in my lighter on my Ford Explorer. This looks so much a part of the car I forget it is there. I am pleased. It charges just as fast as the Apple charger that came with my iPhones. It replaces 2 cables and one charger that is 8x it's size. Sometimes accessories for charging don't fit or work well when the weather goes sour. This thing works, rain or shine. Highly recommended.

I was using a lower current USB car charger on my iPhone and couldn't figure out why after a couple hours of driving and using the TomTom GPS app, that the iPhone was discharging faster then it could charge. After researching it online, I discovered that I need a higher rating charger [1A]. This micro charger from Belkin is affordable and fits nicely into the cigarette power plug. I now just leave it plugged in at all times. So lessson? Not all USB car chargers are the same!

I have a Toyota 4 Runner and the micro charger protrudes out slightly but have zero problems charging my iPhone 3Gs. Highly recommended.

Viair 00073 70P Heavy Duty Portable Compressor

Viair 00073 70P Heavy Duty Portable CompressorThis is an excellent 12 Volt compressor for light to medium duty inflation jobs. It's small and packs neatly inside the included bag. I keep mine in the trunk for roadside emergencies or even just the occasional pressure adjustment. It also makes light work of inflating bicycle and lawn equipment tires.

I also own a Craftsman, Campbell Hausfeld, & a Superflow HV35 from Q Industries(see the review). I have tested all the units on time to inflate a 215-70R14 from zero to 32lbs. In terms of speed to inflate the Viair 70p and Superflow HV35 blow away the lesser units from Craftsman and C.H.

It takes 15+ minutes to inflate with either of the lesser models. The 70p can handle the task in around 4.5 minutes where the HV35 was closer to 4 minutes flat. In addition to the speed advantages both higher end units do their job in a much smoother and quieter manner.

The 70p's advantages over the HV35 are: Build quality, lower sound output and lower running temperatures. It also seems to draw less current making it less likely to blow your accessory port fuse.

With it's sturdy construction, smooth, quiet, & cool operation, I have little doubt that this compressor will be there when I need it. For the $40 price tag it is a hight value per dollar when compared to lesser makes.

I cannot believe how good this thing is!

I've spent some time doing research and happy i got this particular item

I have BMW with 19 inch sport wheels and low profile tires

This compressor is a part of my road side emergency kit

I have tire plugger and jack in addition to compressor as whole setup to fix my tire if i catch screw or nail while on the road

I have not had any issues in that regard yet, but i did use the comressor to inflate my tire.

It was a bit under spec, so i had to add some air

This little beast did the job within less than 30 second

Yes, not minutes, seconds!

It went from 34psi to 38psi in just a matter of seconds

It was done without any sweat either

Very little noise, very little vibration

Key things i like (also main reasons i bought it):

1. very small/compact compressor

2. powerfull enough to inflate even sport tires

3. super fast

4. built quality is very good

5. inflates other stuff (beach toys, sport equipment)

Buy Viair 00073 70P Heavy Duty Portable Compressor Now

Great little compressor and built very well. Used this at the track to add air to the tires, the fastest cig lighter air compressor I ever used. I had many 20, 25 dollars air compressor and they all break within a year. The size is comparable to the other cheaper compressor not too big, which is nice. The pressure gauge on the compressor is good enough to help you fill your flat tire, just read it when the compressor is off.

updateAlmost 3 years later, still runs like a champ. I don't really know what to say anymore cause its still working great. Would buy an other one if I lose it, cause this thing is not gonna break.

Read Best Reviews of Viair 00073 70P Heavy Duty Portable Compressor Here

I bought this to use on a motorcycle. The pump's size is remarkably small for its output and the carrying case makes it perfect to carry on a motorcycle. However, the built-in gauge for the pump shows 50 pounds when the tires only have 40. That's far too inaccurate to be safe. I compared the pump's built-in gauge against a digital pressure gauge (which is accurate to 0.5 psi) and against the motorcycle's onboard internal gauge (accurate to within 1 psi). Both the external and internal digital readings were identical, but 10 pounds under the pump's readings. A 25% error bar is intolerable.

The pump itself worked well until about 18 months later when it started making noise and about a week later it died. I have another cheaper machine by another brand that I kept in my car which lasted 10 years. The failure of this Viair pump so soon after I bought it makes the rating much lower.

Want Viair 00073 70P Heavy Duty Portable Compressor Discount?

This pump measures up to what everyone has been saying about it. Great quality, compact size, VERY quiet for an air compressor, and it works fast, too. I like the carrying bag. I give it four stars because the cigarette lighter plug is designed for deep cigarette lighter outlets. I have a '94 Nissan Altima, and no matter what, the plug keeps popping out of the outlet. I have to either ask someone to hold the plug in while I use the pump or wedge a clip by my ashtray to keep it in. I really like the pump, so I'm going to keep it and shop for some kind of adapter. One more thing is that it would be nice if the bag had some kind of pocket to hold tip adapters (for pumping up sports balls, etc.... I don't really want to those to rattle around loose in the bag).

Added comment 6/2/09 -One reviewer mentioned that the screw-on attachment causes some air pressure to be lost from the tire after you fill it up. Although this attachment is very secure, I agree that it's a setback. However, I found the perfect solution: the Topeak Pressure-Rite Anit-Air Loss Connector. This thing is AWESOME. I got it for my bike tires, and it works great on car tires, too, which have identical valves. I highly recommend both the air pump and the pressure-rite adapter.

Also, in response to a couple of reviews, the gauge on my compressor works great.

Added comment 7/14/10 -Some people seem to be having trouble using the Topeak Pressure-Rite adapter with the Viair 70P because the threading on the adapter and the pump don't seem to match very well. Mine seems to work fine, although you do need to be a little careful when screwing it on. After attaching the Pressure-Rite adapter to the pump, I don't even bother removing it. It could be that the threading on one is metric and the other English, in which case a screw adapter would be ideal. I haven't checked the actual threading sizes, but I'll post an update if I find out. Also, it could be that not every individual product is the same, and some people could have better luck than others.

Keep in mind that the two products are made by different companies and were not specifically designed to be used together. However, I've been using them regularly to fill my bike and car tires for over a year now. When I screw the adapter onto the tire valve before turning the pump on, the pump will show zero pressure (note that this is with the adapter attached). When I turn the pump on, the pressure climbs quickly to the current pressure of the tire and then stabilizes. Then it climbs as the tire is being filled. The pressure that is displayed while it's filling is a little higher than the actual pressure. After I turn the pump off, I wait for the pressure to go down slightly to know what the actual pressure is.

When I unscrew the adapter from the tire valve, I can hear air leaking out. HOWEVER, this air does NOT appear to be coming from the tire, but it seems to be excess air coming out of the pump. I know this because when I check the tire pressure, it's what I expect it to be. Also, if I remove the adapter quickly enough, I can still hear air coming out even though the adapter is completely removed from the tire (which means that it's coming from the pump and not the tire). Like I said, I regularly use this to fill bike tires up to 100-120 psi. I go on numerous rides that are 50+ miles at 16+ mph. After learning how to use the pump properly (after just 1 or 2 tries), the only flat I ever got was when I was going through gravel in a bike lane. If there was a lot of air leaking out when I removed the adapter from the tire, the tire pressure would go down significantly, the tire itself would feel squishy and not rock solid, and I would get a lot more flats. This adapter is pretty much the only reason that I'm even capable of using the Viair 70P with bike tires because otherwise the screw-on attachment (without the adapter) would leak too much air when I removed it due to the high pressure in the tires. For car tires, though, it's probably not that big of a deal because they're only about 30 psi instead of 120 psi.

So in summary, the Topeak Pressure-Rite adapter is great addition to the Viair 70P, but it might take a little bit of getting used to.

Also, for the deep cigarette outlet issue, I found this adapter which works pretty well: Multi-Use Vehicle Charger with Dual USB Ports and Dual 12 Volt Sockets Magnadyne

BlueAnt S4 True Handsfree Speakerphone & Wireless Bluetooth 2.1

BlueAnt S4 True Handsfree Speakerphone & Wireless Bluetooth 2.1I just bought a second Blue Ant for my work van I've had one in my car for about 8 months and don't know what I did without it! The sound isn't the best for listening to my music, but that's what stereos and iPhone adapters are for.

I wouod recommend this to anyone, especially for the safety aspect. If you are in an accident and can't reach your phone, all you'd need to do is say "Blue Ant speak to me" and tell your phone to call someone. It's the best product for people who are conscious about not holding a cell phone while they drive.

Works well and would recommend it to friends or others. As this was my first experiance with this type of hands free device, except for the ones that you put in your ear,I would say it met my expectations. I have read other people's reviews on this same item so I did have some expectations. My only real complaint would be that it I have to ask the device to connect to my phone's voice commands every time I want to call someone or just to dial a number. My expectations were higher on that operation. I was thoroughly expecting to say call such and such and it would connect, not so. Besides that one item I am pleased with all other aspects. When I do purchase down the road I will look for one, if available, that will do the phone command right from the get go as a in ear piece does.

Buy BlueAnt S4 True Handsfree Speakerphone & Wireless Bluetooth 2.1 Now

Although I had a friend advise me against buying device, I ordered a Blueant S4 Bluetooth device because I was convinced that it was the best. The main advantage of the Blueant was its true hands free advantage, via the Blueant key words, "Blueant, Speak to me!" Pairing of the device was easy, speaking to it was not. I can only imagine those who may have seen me driving around yelling, "Blueant, Speak to me!" over and over.

I decided to contact Amazon by phone to make arrangements to return the item. While on the phone with Amazon I explained the Blueant would not respond to the key phrase for hands free, uttering to the Amazon agent, "Blueant, Speak to me!" As the Blueant was sitting on the couch next to me it said, "say a command". Back in the box it went.

The key phrase works 5% of the time, yes I tried both re-pairing and resetting the Blueant device, but it was a no go.

Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate Charger

Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate ChargerThere are so many sketchy sellers selling phone chargers out there, that it can be a bit scary. The problem is that if the charger is poorly made, the output of the charger can be out of spec and can, in some cases, fry the phone you connect to it.

For that reason, when it comes to phone chargers, you should stick to name brands. (They are all made in China, but the name brand ones are usually subject to stricter QA).

When I found this charger on Amazon, SOLD BY AMAZON, I jumped on it. It's a MICRO USB car charger, made for Motorola and sold under the Motorola name, in retail packaging. The rated output is 4.75-5.25V and 950mA.

This charger should work fine with most any phone that uses the MICRO USB connector. The key number to pay attention to is the second one, the rated amperage. This is the MAXIMUM amount of current that the phone can request from the charger. A typical USB port on a PC provides as little as 100mA, and few provide more than 500mA. So this charger should charge your phone faster than when it's connected to a PC. A few phones out now can use up to 1000mA. But that just means they CAN use that amount. If 950mA is provided, they'll still charge, just a bit more slowly.

Note that the amperage (second number) merely tells you how much the charger CAN supply, if requested. The phone itself is responsible for asking for the current. That is to say, if this charger can provide 950mA, but your phone can only use 300mA--no problem. Your phone asks for 300mA and the charger provides all of what is requested. If, on the other hand, your phone can use 1000mA, this charger will provide all it can, which is 950mA--a wee bit less than the max asked for. That's also not a problem; it just means your phone will charge a little bit (not much in this case) more slowly. The rated voltage for this charger is presented in a range of 4.75-5.25V. The "ideal" voltage for a USB charger of any type if 5V. And most chargers for home use are rated right at 5V. But car chargers work in a noisier environment and thus you have the range. This is where a cheapo charger can really do damage, as some of them are poorly regulated and can provide voltages that are WAY out of spec. Again, when you can get a name brand charger from a seller you can trust (Amazon) for such a reasonable price, it's very foolish to consider the cheapo no-names.

This is an excellent quality name brand travel micro USB charger at a price that beats the no-name junk from third party sellers. What's not to like?

BE SURE TO ORDER IT FROM AMAZON AND NOT ONE OF THE THIRD PARTY SELLERS, as some of those have been known to make mistakes with respect to what they ship relative to the listing. I can confirm that Amazon is shipping the P513 /89143N charger, as pictured.

I use my Droid Incredible as my primary GPS car navigator, so I needed a car charger that could keep up with the power needs of Google Maps with the GPS running. The Belkin USB adapter says it puts out 1A, but my Incredible showed that is was only getting a trickle-charge (500 mA) from it, because the Belkin charger does not implement the latest USB charger standard (short the data pins for a fast charge).

This charger shows up as an AC charger on my Incredible, and it is able to charge my phone even while I am using it for GPS navigation. Recommended for any newer phone that uses a micro-USB connector.

The version of this charger shipped to me is a knock-off. There is no Motorola sticker, the micro-USB connector end is a snap-together part, rather than overmolded like the real version. The PVC cable overmold is mis-shaped, the contact springs are weak and the fit and finish of the plastic parts are low quality. So, it is just a car charger, right? Maybe. But what if the electronics are sub-standard also? What if the PVC overmold is contaminated as well? I am going to return this item and not plug it into Wife's phone.

First things first: IF (and that's IF) you get the genuine OEM Motorola charger listed here, the SPN5400/P513/89143N, it works great with modern smart phones like the Motorola Droid, The Incredible, The Google Nexus One, etc. Basically, if your phone has a micro USB connector (and almost all of the newer generation smart phones do), then this is the charger for you.

That said: Not every seller is selling the right item. There are lots of reports of people getting the wrong charger (I've had this happen myself). Your best bet: Amazon, who not only IS selling the correct charger, but has the best price, when you factor in shipping, provided you qualify for free shipping from Amazon (either with Prime, or if your order is > $25).

The Amazon-as-seller listing for this charger can be found here, at least at the time of this review. Search through the sellers to find Amazon. Their price, if you get free shipping from Amazon, is the cheapest, or close to it. And you are guaranteed of getting the correct item, brand new, retail.

OK, that said, here's the rest of my review:

There are so many sketchy sellers selling phone chargers out there, that it can be a bit scary.

One last note: This charger is alternatively sold as the P513, the 89143N OR the SPN5400. These numbers all refer to the same charger. A different product number is assigned depending on the channel through which the charger has been sold. But they are all the same.

This charger is so much better value than the overprice charger Verizon sells for the Droid. It's a standard micro USB port on the Droid and this charger charges the phone flawlessly. Nice blue light, very well made, professional look, great price.

GSI Super Quality Desktop 3-In-1 Rapid Charger/Cradle/Data-Sync Docking Station For LG Optimus Star

GSI Super Quality Desktop 3-In-1 Rapid Charger/Cradle/Data-Sync Docking Station For LG Optimus Star, Speed 2X P990 Droid Cell Phone - Plus Slot For Extra Battery Charge - Powered By USB Or By Included AC Wall AdapterThis is not a very beautiful item but it does the job. Two independent cables for charge your phone/sync with the PC and the other is an AC power adapter for recharge the battery itself, just if you have any extra battery installed. Im still waiting for the second battery so i haven't tried doing the two functions at the same time. But according to the manufacturer it is possible without troubles.

One thing that i dont like is the charging led color, it has two, one blue and the other is green. The green is OK but the blue is too strong. I just put something there for dont see this blue light at night when the cellphone is charging.

iHome IB967B Charging Station for E-readers, Kindle, Blackberries, Ipods and Iphones

iHome IB967B Charging Station for E-readers, Kindle, Blackberries, Ipods and Iphones
  • Dual universal wells charge iPhones and iPods
  • Syncs iPods/iPhones with iTunes
  • Expandable rest area fits and charges (via USB ports) most eBook readers, including Sony Reader, Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, etc.
  • Charges BlackBerries via dual USB ports, Quick charge circuits cut iPhone/iPod charging time in half
  • Dual universal wells charge iPhones and iPods^Syncs iPods/iPhones with iTunes

This idea is great. I only have two concerns, but a good design and execution make it an overall positive device.

Pros: it's very handy to have a place to charge all of your devices in one spot. There are a number of adapters included for different iPods/iPhones, as well as cable adapters.

Cons: The main "body" is made of plastic and it's not extremely thick or sturdy. I have some concerns that it might break if abused. Also, the places where the cables are supposed to be wound and held underneath are not the most well-designed aspect of the charging station. They work fine, but when you have the cables wrapped around the pegs, they tend to stick out a little bit and prevent the station from laying flat on the counter/table/etc.

iHome IB967B Charging Station for E-readers, Blackberries, Ipods and IphonesThe station looks and works as advertised but the picture is deceptive when it comes to the E-reader size. My Kindle is the small 2nd generation, it doesn't fit on the station as shown. it does charge everything as advertised and connects directly to the computer to sync your ipods.

I bought this charger station because we have three iPhones and an iPod in the house as well as a Kindle. The rapid charger dock takes less than an hour to charge my phone completely. The station is super easy to set up, plus I didn't have to remove my hard case to charge the phone. My son's otterbox means he can't use the two docks, but he can keep his cover on and still charge with one of the extra two charge ports.

The charging station arrived quickly, and I have absolutely nothing negative to say about it. Just wish I had gotten it sooner!

Want iHome IB967B Charging Station for E-readers, Kindle, Blackberries, Ipods and Iphones Discount?

We purchased this item as a gift for someone who has an Iphone 4S, BT headset and Kindle Fire they wanted to charge. This unit does not have the juice to charge the fire even with it being the only device hooked up. It's not a bad dock, but as others have pointed out its rather cheap both in looks and quality of materials. If you only need it to charge low power devices this unit may work out.

NoteWe also found that this unit did not have enough juice to power two 4s's side by side and a BT via Micro USB ... it simply would not charge the 2nd 4s until we unplugged the first one.

This docking station is nice, but there are some features (or lack of features) you should be aware of.

1. There are only two USB ports available for additional devices (such as your blackberry or kindle)

2. The base is flimsy plastic and doesn't expand enough to fit a kindle. (the Sony reader shown in the picture is smaller).

If you have a couple of iPods and some other devices that can charge via USB, then this is a good product for you. If you're looking for something to charge devices other than iPods, then you should keep shopping.

EZOPower 2-Port 15W 3.1A Output Car Charger Adapter - Black

EZOPower 2-Port 15W 3.1A Output Car Charger Adapter - Blackthis product was a bust, i used it for 5 days and it stopped working, it was a good fit for what i needed it for but for only 5 days and then nothing so i would tell people to pass on this one its not worth it . There are better products out there.

By now these devices should be a commodity -the main difference being the price and service. However, this car charger is recommended for it's small size and performance. It protrudes about 1/8th inch from the face of the socket yet is easy to remove when needed. I usually leave it plugged in all the time and connect to it as needed. Charges my iPad and iPhone 5 w/o issues.

Compatible DC 12v Car Charger for HTC ADR6200 (Droid Eris)

Compatible DC 12v Car Charger for HTC ADR6200This car charger worked well for approximately 30 days. One day I plugged it in and my phone did not start charging. I unplugged the charger and noticed a rattling sound from inside. I haven't taken it apart yet, but I'm assuming that a piece inside came loose rendering the charger worthless. I'm planning on buying a new charger, but will look at other brands as I have no faith in this product anymore.

Sunforce 50033 15-Watt Solar Charging Kit

Sunforce 50033 15-Watt Solar Charging KitI am extremely pleased with the performance of this solar panel. We have one installed in a small cabin style 12-volt system intended only to charge personal electronics at a remote location. Just add a deep cycle battery and a DC to AC 120 power inverter, such as the Cobra CPI 480 400-Watt 12-Volt DC to 120-Volt AC Power Inverter with 5-Volt USB Output. It is great!

One WARNING for those new to such systems like we were. The charge controller that comes with this kit is just fine, but it is only for *MAINTAINING* a 12 volt battery. If that is your purpose, buy *this* kit.

But, if you want to add an inverter so that you can have AC, USB (and we even added a 12 volt car socket which is the most efficient), then buy the same panel *without* the charge controller and wiring kit. What you need is a charge controller like the Kintrex SPC0601 7 Amp 100 Watt 12 Volt Solar Power Charge Controller, and various connectors of course. The Sunforce controller only has connections for the solar panel and the battery. The Kintrex adds a load connector for power output which isolates the charge controller and gives you usable power output to your inverter. If you try to parallel the battery connection to your devices like I naively did, you risk overcharging your battery. (I vented a little hydrogen and oxygen, but did not do it long enough to ruin my battery.)

I will definitely be buying more of these panels for other projects. Once you understand the fairly simple wiring you can easily create a great low power system for a cabin. (Next, we will build a 60 or 90 watt system...)

HiI bought this set-up to keep my Motorhome charged when not using it. It is only 15 watts so can barely keep the battery up to charge if I am actually using any lights or other stuff but it will keep up with the draw of the refridgerator and minimal stuff. My only beef is the controller wires could have all been pre-terminated with connectors rather than having me do that. This was bought as a kit so it would have been nice if there was a connector on the input side of the controller that mated witht he connector on teh solar panel and a different style connector on the output that would be compatible with the cigarette-lighter adapter, etc. In other wordsall set up to just plug in and go.

Once I soldered and shrinkwrapped the new connectors on I'm pretty happy with it. Not everyone has the ability to properly terminate the wires.

Thanks

I purchased this combo for off grid minimal lighting needs with high hopes. Package arrived dented, but contents appeared OK. Open circuit voltage on solar panel OK at 22v. However, max power output on sunny day was 1.6w (130mA@ 12.3v). This was on a day that my conventional 2.7kW system was producing 1.8kW. My plan is to return and try again, but purchasers should definitely check output.

This product has worked out well for me.

As I haven't isolated my truck battery its charging both truck and camper.

The vehicle has been unpluged from my 115V house access all summer.

I will say that it is a slow charge.

Update;

I have a 2nd unit installed in a Vanagon camper.

Works great and keeps all my batteries charged up.

You can see this installed at;

I was originally pleased with this purchase until, after about four months of use, the panel simply stopped working. There was no apparent damage and I carefully checked every connection for continuity. When I contacted customer service they replied by asking about the settings on my multimeter. I explained the situation to them but received no further response. I know how difficult it can be to troubleshoot a technical problem over the phone or by email but they didn't even try. It seemed like a good product at first but now it only functions as an overpriced door stop.
