I was initially not happy with this product since I could not get it to charge in my Garmin iQue M5, but once I figured out that it was a little small for the battery compartment and placed spacers in the right spot it started working great and continue to do so. I don't know how long it will last, but it was about half the price of the next comparable battery so I'm happy for now.

I had this inverter installed in my cargo van and just after a year it started giving me problems. I use it to mainly run an 800 watt microwave, laptop, and GPS. The inverter worked well then began to experience power loss. The unit remains on, but does does not give any continuous power output. Sometimes, the power output cycles on and off while still showing it is on at the switch. It is connected to a seperate high output battery of very good quality. I use it frequently, about 9 months out of the year. After 2 years now, I am still having problems with it. It is becoming frustrating not knowing if it will work or not. I haven't figured out any reason for it to act up. I am now looking for a new inverter. Maybe I just got a lemon. I expected more from a respectable name such as Tripp Lite.

A very reliable product! As long as you calculate the wattage of the appliances you plan to power off of this inverter and stay within a practical scope of its specifications you will not be disappointed.

I haven't had a chance to use this much, as I bought it as a backup for a power outage. I tested it using modified jumper cables and hooked up my sump pump. It worked as anticipated, so I am happy at this point. It was reasonably priced and shipped quickly (in time for an anticipated storm).

I think I am jinxed when it comes to cables for my iPod, iPad, or iPhone. Between my wife, kids, and myself, we actively use 5-6 Apple products and are constantly fighting over the few chargers that actually work.

The Apple ones seem to have a short life, maybe its the abuse they get at my home, maybe its the product, but they dont last long. Due to the cost of the Apple cords, I have tried many, many generic versions and they die faster or dont work at all. This one is the exception.

This cord is sturdy. It is much heavier and stiffer than the rest, including the Apple brand. The connections seem sturdier as well. It works on ALL of my iWhatevers, not just certain versions like some others do. It charges quickly, which isnt a problem I have had with any that actually work, but it felt worth mentioning. The cord is roughly the same length as the Apple supplied cords, I prefer them a bit longer, but as long as it WORKS I will live with a rather short cord.

Overall, as with all of the Belkin cords I have used, I have nothing but good things to say for this product. If you need a new or additional cable for an Apple product, this is the way to go.

I often use my iPad while tethered to the power outlet, that movement quickly shorted out the official Apple sync cable that came with my iPad. The Belkin cable is much thicker and just looks to be more sturdy, I have been using it now for longer than I had the Apple cable and it is preforming flawlessly. And it is half the price!

We plugged this directly into a computer and it has significant advantages over several over brands. Others had a problem with wires pulling away from the plug which caused the wires to fray. This has not been an issue with the Belkin model, making it worth the extra bucks since it is likely to last longer. I have faith that it will continue to perform well because it is heavier and sturdier than other models. It just looks and feels different but I will update that as we use it more often.

It was used to charge both an iPhone and an iPad and didn't interfere with the cases for the iPad and iPhone. We have a Gum Drop case on the iPad (love it) and an Otterbox on the iPhone (also love it).

So our experience has been absolutely superior to past brands. Recommended!

This cable is thicker and longer than the cable Apple supplied to use with the charger for my iPad 3. I now use this cable instead of the Apple cable because its extra length and added durability make it easier for me to use my iPad 3 while keeping it plugged in.

My iPad 3 is black (as is my iPhone 4S) and I like that this cable matches the color.

I attached it to my iPod 64GB and it immediately synced up with iTunes with no compatibility issues like I've experienced with other 3rd party products that claimed compatibility. Lastly I allowed my iPod to go completely dead and attached it to my computers USB 3.0 port to see how long it took to fully charge from empty. It took 38 minutes. I paid for the new model but received the old model in the new model box. Irregardless, it did not work as well as advertised. I only received and extra 3:30 hours of video power for my 5th gen IPOD. I returned it and bought the Energizer 'Energi To Go' for $20. Tiny plastic holder of 2 AA batteries that fits all Ipods. My IPOD played movies for 8 hours and since you can always carry around a couple of spare batteries, the Energizer can have you watching as long as you need. Much better product for a 3rd of the cost.

This product helped me keep using my ipod for another year after the battery died on it. It also allowed me to plug my ipod into a wall, charge it and the battery and keep it using it. The casing is a little tricky the first couple of times but isn't really a problem after that, and I kind of like the way it fits on the ipod, no danger of falling off of it. I would recommend this product to anyone with an ipod or mp3 player. The only drawback I would put on this product is that you have to take it out of it's case to connect it to a computer, but that's relatively minor.

This car charger is retractable for the first couple day, but after those couple days it just goes bad. It is not a retractable charger anymore. It is also really short in length. This was not a good buy at all.

I really like the compact design of the charger, however it is not practical for charging an HTC incredible. The incredible, with no apps running, no talking, no GPS, nor screen power was using power at an equal rate to the phone. I was able to use this charger for my Jawbone Icon series bluetooth headset, however it only charged the Jawbone about 25% in 4 hours. Not very practical either. I ended up using a power inverter with a normal wall plug successfully with the same car outlet.

This little charger is just perfect! No wires to have to untangle or to take up space. It is just one little plug that fits about anywhere in my car. The only thing that I can find wrong with it is that when you retract it, the cord doesn't go all the way into the housing by itself--you have to help it along when there's like 6 inches of cord sticking out of the reel. But that's really nothing too big or anything.

The reason I purchase this USB charger kit was because I was hoping I could also use it to charge my ipod if need be. However whenever I added the Apple USB cable, it wouldn't charge any of my Ipods. I have used this in a pint a couple of times, to present videos from my phone. It has always be a secondary solution and has gotten me out of tight spots so I am thankful for that. The only complaint that I would have is just that the image can be hard to see if you have anything other light at all.

Found this today while out @ Fry's for $4.99 so I took a chance. Since my needs are minimal (occasional iPod 5G use in non-iPod integrated vehicles) I thought it might be nice to get one with dual USB ports, just in case.

After taking it out to the parking lot I recall how a number of these chargers don't always work in every car. So I plugged it into my '04 TSX 12V power port and low and behold it lite up, so far so good.

Since my car has dual 12V ports (with flip-up protective covers)and because the charger is not a flush mount (sticks out more than an inch) it appears somewhat awkward and prevents the covers from closing. Next I relocated it to the power port inside the center console storage compartment (below armrest). As soon as I did the device began to flicker. After removing and reinserting it, it failed completely.

Only after closer inspection did I notice the center pin was dislodged and fully retracted (should be spring loaded and fully extended). I grabbed my receipt, product and packaging and immediately returned it (all within 15 minutes of purchasing it). Rather then exchanging it, I decided to wait and reassess my options.

I post this as a heads up to anyone contemplating this model (also branded under other names)...

BTW, I'm not completely heartless so I gave it 2 stars instead of one primarily because of:

Dual USB ports with 2.1 Amp (max on top port)

Integral and accessible fuse

Subtle illumination

Bottom line, I don't expect much of electronics (other then work reliably for a reasonable time) but if a device fails within the first half hour... time to start over. It's also the best way I know to send a message to companies regarding inferior merchandise quality.

I really enjoyed this project right up until it broke. It's not too long, so you can fit it into a tight space. It also puts out a lot of power, nonstop.

The trouble is, if you pull it out and put it back in too many times, the shell starts to crack, and the fuse falls out. Replacement fuses are very hard to find. Eventually the tip fell out and the whole thing split apart. My wife's unit, however, is still going strong because she leaves it in.

When plugged in and turned on, it works ok. But there is a serious voltage spike when you first power this up. Apparently no filtering is used at all. Messed up my phone. So only add/remove devices AFTER it is plugged in and powered.

And that big bright blue light...what a waste of energy! This thing is BRIGHT. In the dark it lights the whole car. So even when nothing is plugged in, it's still drawing alot of power. Annoying and unnecessary.

I ordered this product from Amazon and received it the day before Hurricane Irene arrived at my summer home in CT (well, TS Irene, by the time she crossed Long Island Sound). We were without power for 5 days, and I used this product to keep my DSL modem & laptop powered so I could work (yes, the landphone and DSL kept on working, even as cell service was disrupted for 2 days).

The supplied battery took about 10 hours of full sunlight to charge, and was depleted in about 7 hours, so I called the company also in CT, I was surprised to learn and found it can be used to charge a larger deep-cycle battery although of course the charging time would be much longer. So I bought a fully-charged marine deep cycle battery and ran the computer & network off that, while recharging the smaller battery to use in the evening to run my TV and satellite box. Between that and my stock of batteries and lanterns, battery fans, wind-up radio etc., I was able to relax while my neighbors drove miles looking for open gas stations to replenish their thirsty generators.

After we got power back, I used the solar panel to charge the marine battery back up over the course of a couple of days. I love this convenient little kit, and will look into buying a spare battery like the supplied one, which would enable continuous portable use.

I run my laptop off the 300 watt Inverter and am able to be outdoors and have my portable power kit with me. We can even run our new LED T.V. off of it, This is awesome! If you have the phone, you need the charger. It seems to work fine: I have been using both the wall and phone chargers for about a month. The only complaints I have about it is that the home charger makes a very faint high pitched whine when it's plugged in, and as with most chargers, there's no convenient way to manage the cord when it's stored. Otherwise it would get 5 stars.

When using the car charger, I used to leave the charger plugged into the outlet, even when I had unplugged the phone. Do not do this. It blew the fuse to my assessories. Now, I cannot plug it into that outlet without it blowing the fuse. I have left chargers plugged into outlets in different cars, including my current one, and never had this happen. I don't know if it is just this charger or what, but I just unplug the charger (wall or car) when I unplug the phone.

My TuneJuice has *maybe* a 10-minute effect on my iPhone (when I can measure any effect at all), and I've tried at least four sets of alkalines and several passes with rechargeables. In fact, I tried so many combinations that it was too late to return the thing to our Apple Store.

For what it's worth, I accidentally bought a battery extender from Ryobi (thinking it was their flashlight they look a lot alike)... I think it was $20, but you also need a battery ($12) and charger too, but the Ryobi has not only given me excellent results (hours, without running low) but even charged up my iPhone. (And btw: the Ryobi flashlight, which I did end up getting, is by far the best LED flashlight I've ever seen -lights up the fence across the street.)

I bought this product (from BestBuy) to charge my iPhone 4 with rechargeable NiMH AA batteries. It included 3 non-rechargeable alkaline batteries that worked fine out of the box. I only tried them for a minute or two to test that the unit worked. I tested with several sets of fully charged NiMH rechargeable batteries and was unable to get the iPhone to begin charging. Rechargeable batteries put out a lower voltage than conventional alkaline batteries.

I ended up returning it, and getting the Tekkeon TekCharge MP1550 (on Amazon) instead: Tekkeon TekCharge MP1550 and am very happy with it.

It's great, good size, handy, portable and lightweight. I think it's a great product but I think that it really doesn't work well with the iPhone. It takes 4 AAA batteries but they get used up very quickly and doesn't charge as much in comparison to when I used it to charge my iPod. It lasts a long time for my iPod and nearly charges the battery to full. I suggest you don't buy it to charge an iPhone but it works well with other products.

Uniden Bearcat 500 Channel Alpha Numeric Hand Held Radio Scanner with CTCSS & DCS

I have a GRE PSR-310 scanner that I like, a lot. However this Bearcat came with a programming cable and free programming software is available from Uniden, Sure it's missing the 800MHZ band, trunking and stores fewer channels, but for the price this thing can't be beat, sensitivity is on par with the GRE and volume and sound quality is ALMOST as good, however this Uniden is less than half the size, and much, much lighter, yet feels a tad more solid than the GRE.

I know I'm comparing apples and oranges here, but again, for the price, you'll be hard pressed to find a better scanner. I slightly prefer GRE's "Object Oriented Scanning" due to the flexibility it affords frequency setups, but I'll find myself using this Uniden a lot more because of the form factor and the included programming software/cable.

Now I have to go spend another $60 on a cable and software on the GRE so I can program the thing via my PC.

Uniden, you have spoiled me.

I'm a little stunned by the bad reviews. I couldn't disagree more. This is a great scanner. For the roughly 100 bucks, you really get a lot.

It's handheld, which means it travels nicely. It's great for road trips and can keep you in the loop on weather, accidents, and umm, "other" police activities. It scans CB, FRS/GMRS/MURS and HAM bands which covers pretty much all of the individual use bands. The first two (CB, FRS/GMRS/MURS) are pretty useful on trips too.

It's rechargeable, and uses standard AA Ni-MH batteries (included) and you can recharge the batteries right in the scanner from a USB port. You can charge while it's on. Also, just in case it matters, you can run it directly from the USB port without any batteries installed at all! Of course, in a pinch you can always use regular non-rechargeable AA batteries which are pretty much the most common batteries in America. There's a switch inside the battery compartment to tell the scanner what kind of batteries you have so that it won't try to recharge regular batteries. (I know, too much time on batteries but I can't help it. A scanner's no good if you can't turn it on!)

There are some nice storage features for storing "found" stations and you can program them in manually too, if you know the frequency. You can name all the stations as well. Additionally, there's are banks of per-programmed frequencies for different uses (fire, police, CB, etc.) to allow you to get started right away. (If you're looking for frequencies just google "scanner frequencies" and the city or area you live in. Pretty simple...)

But really, it's connecting to the PC that has me won over. *All* of the settings can be accessed through the PC software available from the website. (The website also includes the *manual* , drivers, and firmware updates. The software isn't all that sexy to be sure, but it's plenty functional! It's a lot easier to use than typing into the scanner itself. It allows you to save different configurations in separate files so you can have, for instance, a file for Topeka, and another one for Miami. Again, a really nice feature if you're on the road and have a laptop.

Cons:

You can't actually control the scanning itself from the computer. Not a big deal but the function might be kinda cool. My biggest complaint is that there is not a standing battery indicator. You only get notification when the batteries get low, but you have no idea when that might be. It's just a minor annoyance... maybe it'll get fixed in a firmware update?

Overall, totally useful.

This is my first radio scanner and I'm very satisfied. Living at about 80 meters above sea level near the South Coast of the island of Curacao I'm receiving loud and clear communication from the North coast (Punto Fijo and Coro and enviroment)of Venezuela. Distance is approximately 120 km.

My Nuvi 760 really never worked quite right, even when new. After purchase, I noticed complaints online regarding the battery and its rather poor capacity. What concerned me most was that the battery pack would get VERY hot during charging (which Garmin considers normal) and then would only last fifteen minutes before low battery shut down. My GPS was not the subject of the recent Garmin battery recall, so that was not an option.

I wanted to update the maps because I really do like the GPS, so I had a decision to make: Trash it and get a new one, or attempt to replace the battery, test it and then update the maps if successful.

I went online to Amazon and found this kit for $20.00 or so and thought, well, I'll try it and if it doesn't work, I'm only out $20.00 and I saved the cost of a map update. I ordered the kit and received it in two days, which I consider quite fast.

I opened the kit and found the shim tool, two screwdrivers, a CD and the battery pack itself. I put the CD in my DVD player and watched the installation video. Then I got to work and opened the case. Everything went just like they said in the video. Screws came out, case opened, battery came out, replaced the battery, snapped the case back together and installed the screws. Really easy. But my experience may not be typical, as I used to work on aviation electronics, so my easy may not be your easy.....

I plugged it in and it has worked flawlessly ever since. It no longer gets hot while charging and goes at least five hours before low battery shutdown.

I am very happy with this product and would definitely recommend it to everyone who wants to replace the battery in their Garmin Nuvi. It is very inexpensive, high quality, and you get to keep the tools. At least I think you do. No one has called asking for them back......

Even if you have never worked on electronics before, take a whack at it. Just be patient and follow the instructions. It's only $20.00 and you just might save your favorite GPS.

I was so distraught to have my Garmin GPS constantly going off due to a "low battery". It was relatively new to us, and loved it when we took road trips a few times a year. However when checking with Garmin, they said the battery could not be replaced and we needed to buy a new one. I felt this was ridiculous.

After some research I came upon this Battery Replacement Kit. I was a bit skeptical but after reading the reviews and knowing it had a Guarantee, I ordered the kit. It came very promptly and was installed in just a few minutes after watching the installation CD. As others had said, you do need some double sided tape to hold the battery in place. I had read that when I purchased, so I had some on hand. In replacing the battery, we did not lose any of the previously entered information, such as settings, locations, and favorite places.

I would highly recommend this purchase if your unit is failing. Now I have the tools, and if I need another battery in the future, I will order the battery alone, which is very inexpensive. Also, if you have friends with with a Garmin, you can loan them your tools and they can just order the battery.
