This pair of little radios did exactly what I was looking for, and with included batteries and charger in the price were the best value I could find.

I didn't test the radios for the full 27mile range, but they worked perfect within a mile or so while camping. Reception is clear, and never ran into any issues with them not communicating. Battery life was very good.

Purchased this product but in actuality received a product with less features, when i mailed the seller i was given the worst run around ever for weeks. Finally, i grew tired of it and contacted amazon. Amazon jumped on their case and got me helped within the day.

I had previously posted a negative review about my experience along with email correspondences as proof. They immediately asked me if would remove my review since they were now helping me. In an attempt to retain some leverage I told them I would not delete the review until i received a return shipping label and was credited back on my american express. Now in my opinion, dishonesty deserves dishonesty, i had no intention of deleting the proof of their bad business ethic.

Got these as a Christmas gift for my little brothers needless to say they opened them and threw away all the packaging and when they actually got to use them they didn't work! I have just fired up this Controller. I followed the connection sequence and the start-up procedure, and everything turned out perfect, I am currently only feeding in 200 watts of panel power , but I will be adding another 150 watts soon. I love the fact that it can handle up to 150 volts of panel input, so hooking the panels in series allows for much smaller losses through the wiring and more current into the batteries for quicker battery recovery time. Nice construction and clean step through start-up make this unit A+ for me.

Did some research and wanted to go with a 24v solar pv setup on the roof (520 watts total), but still have a 12v battery bank. You'll need an MPPT controller for this, and the Tracer by SainSonic 30amp controller works great. I have it hooked up to 2x175ah AGM batteries, and it keeps them charged and ready. It's interesting too how it takes a 24 volt input from the solar panels (actually closer to 34 volts in the direct sun), and down converts to a 14.5 volt charge and increases the amperage from about 10 amps from the panels to over 20 amps feeding the batteries. Makes for a quick recharge for my battery bank. I recommend getting the plug-in digital meter so you'll have some idea what's going on with your system.

We purchased this item from Amazon in 12/12. It was set up and running by the end of the year. All associated components (solar panels, batteries, wiring, etc.) were new. At first it worked as expected. After a couple months it started to take a day off" sometimes. It then would work again. We contacted customer support and they agreed to work with us. The next problem that then started was that the battery charge indicator light would be blinking green (full batteries), but no power was available. A battery voltage check showed about 12v instead of the 14.4v cutoff for charging (the point at which the light should blink). Any attempt at introducing a load, no matter how small would blow out the fuse in the battery circuit, but never the fuse in the load circuit (10A). After many attempts on their part to try to make it my fault, they agreed that it was a faulty controller, but that since more than 3 months had passed by then, return shipping was my problem. They promise to refund my purchase amount within 5 days of receipt of the controller. If there is any further problem with the return, you will read about it here. It worked ok when it worked, but customer service could not answer ANY questions put to them (such as determining the rating for the fuse in the BATTERY circuit). It has a 30A solar input limit so I used a 30A fuse (the instructions call for a fuse, but don't give a clue as to it's amp rating). They couldn't say if that was right, wrong, or even seemed to understand that I was following THEIR own directions. 3-4 stars for operation (when it works), 3 stars for prompt (but uninformed)customer service, and 1 star for me paying to return it. **** Our money was refunded within 5 business days as promised. Once again, the customer service was prompt and courteous, but not helpful other than just having us send it back.

UPDATE: It's been hardly 2 months since I am using this device in my small car and I already have loose contact problems. The wire is a little too thin and scary but its fine if you handle with care. I had a similar one for my Nokia (another brand) that also had a same size wire but still lasts (over 2yrs now).

If I was able to give it a zero star rating I would. It looks cool, it glows blue.....that's what attracted me to it. But it never makes good contact in the cigarette lighter or the other two power outlets I have in my truck. I'm constantly having to unplug and replug it. Any time you pull the retractable cord out it loses power and you have to unplug and replug it. I tried it in my other car and had the same problem, so it is not the vehicle's power outlet. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! You will be buying a huge frustration and a safety hazard while driving.

I wanted to get this product for my iPod touch so that I don't have to turn on a computer every time my iPod needs to be charged. I was going to pay $20 separately for a wall charger and car charger at a store, until I found this on Amazon. As is described, the wall plug and the car adapter have USB docks in them. iPods aren't the only things that these things can recharge, though. I plugged in my phone via USB and it worked as I expected. This is a nice feature because it will save me from having to buy a new car adapter for every new phone I get, so long as I have a USB cable for said phone, that is. It'll even recharge my Xbox 360 wireless controller! Sometimes I need to recharge my Xbox 360 controller but the Xbox 360 is annoyingly loud, turned on, when you're not using it. Such a pleasant capability!

Aside from the wall plug and car adapter, the USB data cable works just as well for syncing iPods as the one that comes with them. The fact that the cord is retractable is very convenient because it eliminates any tangling of other cords and it's easy to just slip in your pocket in case you're planning on recharging your iPod somewhere like at school. It isn't as long as the one that came with my iPod, but it certainly is nice to have because sometimes I need to recharge my iPod with my MacBook, but have a hard time bringing that long messy cord that comes with the iPod.

All in all, the wall plug, the car adapter, and the retractable USB data cables defeat messiness and will save you money on extra junk that you think you may need. It's a must own for ANYONE who needs to charge a device via USB. Did I mention that it'll even recharge Xbox 360 or PS3 wireless controllers? Whether it's an iPod, a phone, a game controller, or whatever that needs to be recharged via USB, I highly recommend this product to anyone.

From what I've experienced, the other reviewers are correct: this product is either not designed to charge an iPhone 3G from a wall outlet (the most likely case since the Firewire pinouts were removed for the 3G), or else has such quality control problems that only a minority of wall units sold (judging from the reviews) actually work. The presentation on my iPhone is that the status icon on the top of the iPhone switches to the charging icon, and the full screen image with the green battery bar graph appears. But the unit doesn't really charge. And when you try to "slide to unlock" when connected to the wall charger, the arrow button never slides, and you cannot get to the Home screen (or the Enter Passcode screen if you have a passcode).

There are several online reports to the effect that several generic third-party iPod/iPhone chargers no longer work with the iPhone 3G. That seems to be true here, despite the claims to 3G-compatibilty.

The USB cable should work fine, though you can purchase it very cheaply by itself. I've not tried the car charger, and honestly wasn't in a big hurry to do so since I've traditionally had bad experiences with such devices (although I must admit that today's rechargeable batteries are much more resilient than the NiCads and lead acid gel contraptions that us greybeards started out with in the 1980s).

So your experience may be better, and it's not a major purchase, but since it's claimed that this is iPhone 3G compatible, I'm giving it one star and suggesting you look elsewhere.

It is not clear, either from the Amazon listing, or from the non-existent instructions included with this item, that the Garmin has to be connected to the CRADLE in order to charge. When I saw that the connections were incompatible I got angry and arranged to return this charger to Amazon. But, when I calmed down, I went to my car and removed the cradle and the charger works perfectly. This whole episode could have been avoided with proper WRITTEN instructions (which did not come with the charger, and/or a specific statement in the product listing). Anyway you look at it, this is just poor communication.

I agree with the previous customer. It is a necessity if your working with programming the GPS at home. However, it should have been included with my Garmin Nuvi 780. Buying it standalone is more expensive then it's worth.

This gave me the opportunity to use my Garmin in the hotel room. I was able to find locations before I set out on the road without running down my battery and while keeping an optimum charge. One down fall is that you have to have the windshield mount accessory in order for it to plug into your Garmin.

I decided to give this a try even though i was worried on why the price was so low. I had a amazon gift card, so it ended up being free so it was worth the gamble. Used this to connect the high-pressure receptacle on my pop-up camper to my Coleman LXE Grill. This is the type of grill that normally uses the small 1 lb propane canisters. Essentially it runs from the camper to the regulator on the grill. Good flame adjustment and easy to light once the line pressurizes (might take a few seconds for the gas to actually reach the burners when first hooking it up).

Works as expected. Might get a slightly longer hose if/when I need to replace this one.

This worked for about 6 months in three different cars. However, from the beginning the charger would get hot and would even smell like melting plastic. After about 6 months, it started losing the connection with the car lighter/charger port. It would work only if it was turned at a particular angle, then if it was at a particular angle and you jiggled it just right. Then it would stop after 4 minutes. Finally it gave up. I suspect the springs or some other physical failure. I switched to a Motorola charger which has worked fine for a month. I liked this charger's small size and retractable cable, but it did not last long.

Hard to review a charger, it works it charges the batteries for my wench from my truck so I don't have to go back home. Awesome concept glad it does it's job!!

I needed an alternative charger for my Blackberry since my last desktop charger died. I did not want keep bringing the only one from home into the office. Half the time I would leave it there. So I decided to go with this in expensive charger and boy I am NOT disappointed. It charges my Blackberry fairly quick and I can leave it plugged into my computer. I do have anextra battery and look forward to trying that out as well.
