Had this charger for a few months now and initially it worked great, but after some time I started having to wiggle the cord around to get the charge to attach. Its just a bit annoying at times, I probably wouldn't reorder.

I'm very disappointed with this product. The holder actually grips the phone quite well, and opens reasonably easily to release the phone. The issue is the holder mounts onto the windshield mount by simply sliding down 1/16 of an inch on 4 small slots. If the unit turns at all, the holder and phone fall completely off. I won't even try to use this in my car, it falls off the arm while I'm holding it.

Update as of 10-24. Have heard back from the seller, item should lock into place. They are shipping out a replacement (testing it locally first). I will update the review once I have the replacement mount.

Final update 11-6 product does lock in you really need to force it to get it to lock. Emily Littella time 'Never Mind'

It is handy to have stuck to window. Flexible portion came loose but glue fixed it. I use charger a lot and if there is pressure on inserted part, sometimes loses contact.

A very compact and lightweight converter to carry while travelling overseas. I have used it with my battery, cellphone and camcorder chargers. Also I have used it with my Shaver and toothbrush. I have owned it for two years and have used it on my trips to Europe and Asia. It has a thermal fuse which protects it from overheating. It is very reliable and has never failed on me.

Having gone through part of the reviews here, I guess some users might have misunderstood the application of this converter.

If you want to use your electronic devices operated with a rechargeable battery (such as your iPhone, cell phone, ipod, ipad, laptop, digital camera) in another country where the household power supply is at 220/240V, you don't need to bother, because nearly all these electronic products are designed today to be completed with a battery charger suitable for a voltage range from 100V to 240V; in other words, people travel around with these electronic items, so these items should work properly at any level of voltage anywhere in the world. Whatever you have and wish to use in a foreign country, just carefully check the marking on the battery charger about the voltage rating ... if the voltage rating is printed or embossed as "100-240V", then don't worry, simply connect the power plug to a socket to charge the battery after you get to the destination.

I also brought with me two laptop's, a cell phone and an SRL digital camera from China (at 220/240V) and have been using them here in the U.S. (at 110V) for almost half a year ... everything is okay as perfectly as they worked in China, because the battery chargers can work at any voltage from 100V to 240V.

However, if you want to use an ELECTRICAL item operated under alternating current (like a hair dryer, steam iron), you will need such a converter, so that your electrical item for 110V can be used at foreign voltage 220/240V. If you don't, your electrical item will get burned from voltage break-down. Some products sold in the U.S. are completed with a rechargeable battery (electrical toothbrushes, for example), but the voltage rating of the battery charger is subject to 110V, meaning that the battery can be charged at 110V only. So if you need to use such an electrical item outside the U.S. at 220/240V, such a converter will be necessary.

Apart from a voltage converter, you should also check if a plug adapter will be required before you travel to a foreign country, because there are quite many types of power plugs in the world. For example, if your laptop's battery charger has a U.S. type power plug, you cannot plug it directly into a wall socket in Australia or in the U.K., since the pins and the slots do not match.

I ordered this converter for my parents who are going to travel in China, as they'd like to bring a water flosser with them and that is absolutely an electrical item. I received this in a good condition, but couldn't find a better manual than the brief instruction on the box. The quality should be okay as it has adequate weight. Hope my parents would say yes to its quality after they use it.

Update on 04-28-11:

According to my parents, this converter does not work with a water flosser in China. It is too weak, and there is no water flush generated from the water flosser even at the 'HIGH' position of the converter.

It was a waste of money. I would not recommend this product, and hence reduced the rating to 1 star.

I've been using this model of travel converter for over 5 years, traveling all over the world. I have only a few 110V US items that I carry with me, the most important to me is an RCR123a battery charger. It has yet to fail me. I use just an adapter (not a converter) for my laptops and other items that have power supplies capable of handling 100-240 Volts at 50 or 60 Hz.

I paid $25 for mine, so the shipping charge doesn't seem terribly out of line. I would like to get it for less, of course.

I cannot deal with a bad hair day. Even while travelling I must carry my own hair dryer & hair straightner. This converter worked great for me while holidaying in Europe & Asia. Great product. We took this converter to Shanghai, China (May 2010) and it worked great. We stayed in a Chinese hotel, Motel 168, for 9 days and my wife used this converter constantly with her hairdryer. We also used it to charge up our Nintendo DS and an eBook reader. For the hairdryer we turned the switch to "Hi" and for the other electronics we turned it to "lo." Remember to do that or you might destroy some of your electronics if you have it set to "Hi."

I purchased this as a lightweight hiking nut to replace my heavier compass, especially since it is only for backup if my Garmin ever dies on me while in the wilderness. The construction quality is great and it seems to be very accurate. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating was that the lanyard was not long enough after tying a knot in the end to allow it to go over my head so I could wear it around my neck. The lanyard is very thin and lightweight which help keep the total weight down to just 9 grams! Do no forget to melt the ends of the nylon lanyard to avoid fraying over time since this may weaken the already thin lanyard. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to keep pack weight down but wants an accurate compass.

These are great UHF Radios. Downside it is not 5 watts it is 3 watts. Real range is 1 to 2 miles in an urban setting. In open country it would do 3-5 miles. But the plus side is these will do GMRS, go get your GMRS license. ($80 for a family for 5 years)

Their are towers/repeaters that make your little radio talk any where from 15 to 45 miles.

These have a kenwood feel to them, very solid & light weight. For less than $25 a radio, you can not go wrong with these.

Not that we want a radio to be lost or broken. Things happen sometimes, why be out $500 on an HT that you can replace for $25.

These will be used with a repeater at a church campground. We need a lot of radios for very little. Buy the usb programming cable.

I bought this to assemble my own car emergency kit. It's the only item with the length and gauge I wanted. Quality control is not great, since 2 of the clamps were missing the glow in the dark "Polarity labels", but other than that it does what it's supposed to do. No complaints.

I purchased this item on February 10th and received it by the 13th or 14th. At first it worked wonderfully. I charged the item fully and it synced up with my phone for calling and bluetooth media play. Then the battery life got shorter and shorter so i would have to charge it constantly then one day it wouldn't even turn on when the "on" was selected by the switch. Now to even have it on, I have to keep the switch in the "off" position and plug it in to a power source. Luckily for the company that sells it, it broke down in just enough time for me not to be able to return it. Thanks a lot! Don't buy this item, its rubbish!

Exide MC-31 MEGACYCLE AGM-200 Sealed Maintenance Free (AGM) Marine Battery

Received this Deep Cycle battery 2 weeks ago from Amazon. The manufacture's production date was 11/2011 and the manufacture's ship date (to Amazon?) was 12/2011 so the battery was received factory fresh. It arrive with a full charge per my multi-meter at 12.8 volts. It has 840 cranking amps at 32 degrees and 700 cranking amps at 0 degrees. It is a 100 amp hour battery with a 200 minute reserve capacity.

This battery was installed in a diesel pusher motor home as the "house" battery, which is used to power the lights, heat, water pump etc. when you are not connected to utility power or running the generator.

It is heavy (at about 72 pounds) but since it is a sealed AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) battery we won't have to remove it every 6 months and check the water level in it as you do regular lead acid batteries.

We also use a NOCO Genius G7200 charger (also sold through Amazon) to keep it charged since it is a "smart" charger and will not over charge the battery. We no longer use the coach's built in 12 volt converter/charger to keep the batteries charged since it will over charge the batteries and shorten their life.

Even though we have only had the battery 2 weeks, I would recommend it for 3 reasons:

1. PRICE! When shopping around for a group 31 AGM battery, our local battery store (Batteries Plus) wanted $325.00 for theirs. (To be fair, their AGM battery was a hybird with 1000+ cranking amps it is across between a deep cycle battery and a starting battery.) Other places online wanted $250.00 or more and around $50.00 shipping!

2. Exide has been making batteries for over 120 years so I think they will be around to honor their 2 year replacement warranty.

3. As an AGM battery there little maintenance (Just wipe it off every now and then). I have had an AGM battery in our full size truck for 7 years with no problems to report. Our other vehicles have had to have their batteries replaces every 2 to 3 years. The heat in Texas is hard on a battery... (From now on when we replace the batteries in our vehicles, they too will be AGM batteries.)

We plan on purchasing 2 more of these batteries when our existing engine starting batteries need to be replaced in the coach.

I bought this battery for my travel trailer and it passed the test on a recent 10-day trip to Yellowstone park. I had plenty of power for the whole trip without having to recharge. There was not a hint of fading power on the whole trip. My previous battery, which is only a year old, did not last this long on week-long trips. I'm happy.

Added 1/13/13 I bought a motor home and no longer use this on a trailer. I am now using it as a battery for my Minn-Kota 50 lb thrust troling motor on my 2 boats. I can also hook up my fish finder to it and have plenty of power for both. It works as a back-up for the motor home though I haven't had to use it yet.

I purchased two of the Exide MC-31 batteries from Amazon which were delivered in May, 2011. They were very well packaged and in excellent condition. After unpacking and inspecting the batteries, I was surprised to see that the manufacture date was May of 2010. The batteries had been in storage without charging for a full 12 months. The open circuit voltage indicated only about 75% charge, indicating that some plate sulphation must certainly have taken place by this time reducing the battery life and capacity. When I contacted Amazon their representative directed me to deal with the manufacturer. (Catch 22) The manufacturer did not supply the batteries to me directly and they were not actually defective (just old). I put the batteries into service and just hope their service life has not been shortened dramatically. When they were shipped to Amazon is not known, but selling lead acid batteries that are already a year old sounds like a huge oversite on Amazon's part. If you are considering the purchase of one of these batteries, I would suggest you contact Amazon first and inquire as to the date of manufacture.

I was a bit worried about ordering a battery from Amazon especially after the poor review and date problem listed below but, our travel trailer battery was dead and after checking local prices (whew!) decided to give this a try.

After reading all the reviews, opted for this one and then noticed, WarehouseDeals had one available for a few bucks less. Since batteries can't be returned in general, I figured the less spent, the less risk and opted to give it a go.

When the battery arrived, my initial reaction was "uh-oh" because it was dusty and dirty. No grease or anything but lots of dust...I think there was even a shoe-print on it! I dreaded the worst thinking this thing must have been sitting around the warehouse for ages. No so! I cleaned it off a bit and saw the date being the SAME month as shipped! Wow I can't even get batteries that new locally. In fact, I can't come anywhere near this price on this battery (or similar ones) locally...the next best price was about $100 more than what I paid.

Hooked it up to see the charge...was at 92%. Charged the remainder. Works like a charm! Couldn't be more pleased by this purchase. Great battery, great price, great delivery, very fresh! Oh it was dirty as all get-out but I saved about $100 so still very pleased!

Not sure why the production date of the battery I got was 12 months ago .. but it was fully charged and came packaged well enough. Since it shipped for free with Prime .. I'd hate to know what it would have cost with regular shipping cost considering its weight.

Sunforce 50032 15 Watt Solar Battery Charger

I purchased 6 of these for a backup system for my home. Two Northern units and 4 Sunforce units all 15 watt. ( these are the exact same units btw, northern's are cheaper). With two inverters, a 2500 watt, and a 300 watt pure sinewave for computers and such. Hooked through a 7 amp charge controller to a pair of 110 amp hour deep cells in parallel for a total of 220 amp hr's.

I first hooked two panels up to see how they did, they worked well in very low light but couldn't ever get the batteries to "full" on the controller. I then hooked up a third panel and that gave enough to bring the batteries to full after a full day. With six panels hooked up, it will bring the batteries to "full" in a very few hours from a 30% drained condition.

These units are less then optimally placed and rarely get full sun, but do very well even without that. Two panels in full sun may very well have been able to bring the batteries to "full" but location is a problem for me. One other product of note is the P3 international "Kill A Watt" electrical useage meter. Doing a survey of electrical useage in my house to get ready for this project was an eye opener to say the least.

Great panels, at a good price, that do what you pay for...all you can ask for.

No problems with delivery (of two panels). Worked right out of the box, getting great wattage out of it. Only nit is I would have preferred a seperate power cable, vs. attached.

Mounting holes made it easy to build a PVC stand.

Haven't found another panel with these specs at this price.

Got mine undamaged from northerntool for $92.40 (with shipping and tax). A quick DVM reading (laid out flat on ground in full sun at 2PM June 19th 2007 in Minnesota): 21 volts and 0.8 amps = 16.8 watts. Now $92.40 for 16.8 watts works out to $5.50/watt, which is a very competitive price these days (note that they only warranty up to 80% of rated output). I plan to use this to drive a 12V fountain pump. According to the specsheet, "Yes, this panel is fully weatherproofed." Nevertheless, I wish it came with a plastic hail guard, as the glass feels delicate. Looks like the same product as the Sunforce 50032.

It arrived quickly and in perfect condition. It produced the rated open circuit voltage and short circuit current in full sunshine per the specifications. It was a good buy, very good for maintaining a battery, but you must use a charge controller. You need several along with a charge controller if you intend to produce enough power for useful work. I use 5 (similar) together with a 100 amp/hour marine battery to power my laptop. I'd like to add a few more! Great for the hobbyist who wants to play with solar without a large expense, also useful for low power off grid applications. It has been outside during several large rainstorms and had no problems.

all things considered this flashlight is well worth it..far less cost at amazon than retail..the charge lasts..the light is bright enough..all radios work well..i would definitely recommend it as an emergency and even everyday use.

The red Snap-On crank LED flashlight is roughly twice the size of a conventional cylindrical flashlight of the same proportions. It feels solid, nothing jiggles, the crank feels tight and solid. The LEDs are, as usual, slightly wimpy. It doesn't produce a bright beam of light. In a total blackout, it will do its job. The radio works fine. I chose this item because of the Snap-On name. I expect it to last quite a while. We'll see.

Works as it should; seems sturdy enough, the NOAA is a waste as space on it because, it's not available everywhere, no real complaints, flashlight works good, radio works good and last I have not tried to charge anything as of yet but it's worth the $34.

I really like the flat, non-tangling USB cable included with the two adapters. During a recent power failure here, I used the car adapter and cable to recharge 2 iPads, and this handled that fine. I've used the wall adapter a few times; just wish it had 2 USB ports instead of one. But at this price, one can't have everything...

The cable alone is worth the cost. I hope to find micro-mini flat USB cables in the near future that will work as well.

The flat sync cable is nice so you dont get the tangled wire mess but the two chargers i thought look and feel cheap. also all 3 peices are a different shade of green. Not that its a big deal they still work but just something i noticed. Also the charger does not lock into your ipod/iphone/ipad so if you pick it up while its charging the cable falls out. Also the picture description shows a stylis and something else but these two items do not come with it. So either the picture is off or i got ripped off.

The main reason I purchased this package was for the zune speaker. Be for warned, it looks a lot larger in the picture and turned out to be only about 2 inches. The sound quality was suprisingly good for such a small speaker, but after usuing it once, it wouldn't turn on the next day, wouldn't take a charge, and flat out broke. Don't waste your money or time!

The screen protector and cases fit very nicely. The arm band and the belt clip are great for the job as well. The charger is a major major con!!!! at least my charger makes the on-screen options useless. When the charger is plugged in you can't change anything, for instance you can't even change the song because there is no response. The speaker is loud, but can get energy pops, it is not getting the proper wattage and not enough air to create the correct sounds, but for what it is I was very pleased with the speaker. I have not used the car charger, but I assume it will have similar issues to that of the wall charger.

Ive seen these things go through years of systematic abuse. Dragged on pavement, slammed, dropped endless times on concrete, and fiercely cussed because they simply ran out of grease. I saw a fellow smash his toe, and out of pure rage, he went completely insane and threw one of these things into a solid block wall not 4 feet away. It survived, having already suffered at least 3 years of abuse by numerous other people. The plastic part surrounding the motor is vulnerable, i have seen them break. I finally bought one. I have no regrets or complaints. Nothing cheap looking, sounding, or acting about them. Very nice set in a rugged, attractive carrying case. Nothing you would want to put in your wife's stocking or buy your girlfriend on her birthday, but definitely a nice addition in the guys garage. These are exceptional grease guns and I do recomment one. I dont know much about the other brands but if its not a Lincoln, then I just don't care.

This tool makes greasing equipment so much more enjoyable! Even if you only use it for something such as a garden tractor, keeping one hand free to place the hose onto the grease fitting and one hand to run the gun is well worth while.

This is the second Lincoln PowerLuber I've owned. The first went along with the rest of my construction equipment when I sold my excavation business. I have a couple of tractors and hated having to hold the grease tip on the fitting with one hand while trying to pump the handle with the other. Not a problem now. Also, in cold weather, or with stubborn fittings, the gun puts out more pressure than lever or hand pump guns. I recommend it. The 12 volt unit works fine for residential or small farm use. The 18 volt is best if you own more than a couple of pieces of equipment.

Baofeng 2013 Newest Dual Band VHF and UHF 5W Walkie Talkie Baofeng UV-B5

The UV-B5 not just another UV-5R variant housed in a different case. This radio is a completely new design focused on overcoming some of the many flaws inherent in the UV-5R. To begin with, the 'B5 feels more like a commercial radio and less like a toy. The front end on the UV-B5 is superior to the '5R. The squelch tail elimination feature for example is a great feature usually found only in more expensive commercial radios. The UV-B5 comes with a much better antenna than the one included with the '5R. Oh, and that silly LED flashlight option is gone replaced with a convenient knob to change channels.

I'm able to program the radio flawlessly with the latest version of CHIRP. The program still doesn't have an 'Advanced' settings tab but having the ability to program all the channels through software eliminates 99% of the work and allows me to easily share the .img file with others. CHIRP even includes some generic files that allow you to program your radio to be a Marine Band only HT or a FRS/GMRS only radio or a combination of both plus your own manually entered frequencies. For ease of interoperability, I programmed mine so that the first 22 channels are standard FRS/GMRS frequencies.

I recommend ordering the following accessories:

1. Programming cable

2. Spare battery (sadly, unlike the '5R, no 3800ma optional battery is available for this unit)

3. External speaker/mic

4. BNC adapter to use radio with a 1/4 ground plane mag mount antenna in the car

One final note: Don't expect this radio to have the same specs as a commercial HT or even a Japanese Ham-class dual bander. However, for what it is a sub $50, no-frills dual-bander, it's certainly a bargain.

I've been an Amateur Radio Operator for many years, and have more radios than I'll ever need. But when I see these Baofeng radios for under $50, I can't help myself. I already own the popular Baofeng UV-5R, and the new UV-B5 is even better. The UV-B5 feels more like a quality radio than the UV-5R. Most of the features are similar. The UV-B5 has slightly less channels (99), but has a channel knob instead of the LED flashlight. Programming is a little easier, but like the UV-5R, you'll want to buy the optional programming cable. Using the software from Baofeng, you can also expand the UHF RX frequency range to 520MHZ. The latest daily builds of CHIRP also work, but not the advanced settings or programming above 470MHZ (as of June, 2013). The UV-B5's operating manual is light years better than the operating manual that comes with the UV-5R, and also has a much better antenna.

Performance wise, the UV-B5 is on par with my radios costing 3 times more. Transmit and receive are both excellent. Build quality is a step below the more expensive Japanese radios, and the scan speed is slower, but that should be expected from a dual-band radio costing under $50. Audio is excellent, and plenty loud from the small speaker. The 2000mAh battery lasts a long time. Unfortunately, the battery and charger are not compatible with the UV-5R. The programming cable is.

This is just a great, cheap, dual-band radio.

Beware, there is nothing that I found so far that can program this radio through software and doing so manually is a severe pain in the butt. Doable, but take a weekend to do so :). The radio delivers. I made a test call on 146.52 and had a station come back ~10miles away full quieting.

The thing i like about this radio over the UV-5R is the second dial to control moving through freqs and channels. On the UV5R you have to use the up and down arrows on the keypad, this radio has a dial for it. Its something basic, but for $43 you really cant split hairs.

This is a very good handy talkie at a bargain price. It is sturdy, has plenty of options and features and has a VFO knob instead of the light other BAOFENG'S have... I like that. To compare this product to one's priced twice or four times as much is unfair. I would not recommend it as a primary station or for beginners, unless you have/get an exterior antenna; since, the rubber ducky offers limited simplex coverage (about 1 or 2 miles). It does, however, hit my local repeaters just fine with its rubber ducky, but squelch may need to be set to zero in order to receive, depending on signal strength. Overall a good product at a great price with normal limitations due to its low power. Four stars because there's always room for improvement.... LOL

First, I should say I am not using this as my main radio, but the UV-B5 is good for backup and other purposes.

So, why is it not my primary HT? It lacks features, some of which a person would expect on a traditional name-brand handheld. For example, I could find no way to make it do automatic repeater frequency-shifts. I measured power output at 4 watts (less than the 5w specified). The time it takes to quit transmitting after the key is released seems long. This could be a problem for some digital mode operations. It does have VOX, which would have been nice for digital ops, but the release time is quite long (designed for voice).

There is a UV-5B group on Yahoo. You might want to check that out for more pros and cons.

In summary, if you need a functional backup radio for a relatively low price, the UV-B5 is worthy of consideration. (I gave it an extra star for the low price.)
