Bought this to charge a Samsung SCH-u340 prepaid phone in my vehicle. The item was received within the timeframe predicted for delivery.

I used it for the first time while traveling on vacation and it worked as expected. The charging time doesn't appear to be quite as fast as when using the household charger but it's certainly adequate. The construction of the unit is good and it should hold up well. It has a power led that verifies power is being applied to the unit. Overall I am quite pleased with it, it performs the task it was designed to do and I would recommend it to others who are looking for a low cost alternative to those being sold retail at Verizon etc.

The good: The battery is small and light. The less then optimal: The battery pack does not provide much extra power. Reviews for this product (on Amazon and elsewhere) report it provides about 70-75% additional battery life. In 2 uses of this with my iPhone 4S, it only provided 15%-20% increase in battery power. The 15% was after the battery pack had sat about a week after being charged. The 20% was after the battery pack had been just removed from the charger and said it was fully charged. While I like Griffin products and generally find them to be of better than average quality, I think this product is a bit too expensive for the additional power it provides.

This is the second griffin charger I have purchased. The first one was for my teenage daughter, who loves this device and carries it with her wherever her phone goes. The second was for my wife, who like my daughter, would find herself in an awkward place with a phone about to die. The backup battery charges from the car charger and is fairly small so it fits in a pocket or purse easily. It provides about a 40% charge, so don't expect a full charge. The 40% charge gives them both about 2 hours of phone service, so so far it fits the need very well without being bulky. Now my grown son wants one.

I bought one of these for my nightstand and use is for my alarm clock. The phone automatically switches to the dock view with time, weather, etc. You can charge and extra battery in the back, so I always have power ready to go if needed. I bring it with me when I go on vacation as I can't be without it.

It's a decent dock and works perfectly if you just want something to charge it. It has not speakers though so it's kind of pointless to use an alarm clock. I knew this going it before buying it even though I was planning on using it in more of an alarm clock fashion. It's odd though cause on the run there is a volume button. There is a spare battery charge station on it, granted that's only helpful if you have a spare battery, which I don't, but is handy cause the Samsung Charge does eat battery if you use 4G LTE all the time. To be honest I used it pretty frequently when I first got it just to charge my phone while on my desk. It's not completely worth it though because the lack of speakers. If you wants something that allows you to use your phone as a clock and charge the phone at the same time it's perfect. If you want to use it in some fashion for music it definitely falls short of that capability.

Like all components of the CTEK system the cig socket charger is quality built with o-ring seals in the electrical portion to keep it dry and a firm grip on the socket. That being said, there are some things to consider.

Keep in mind not all cigarette lighter sockets on cars are live 24/7 most imports tend to kill all outlets when the key is removed while american cars tend to leave the sockets live all the time. This makes it difficult to use this with EVERY car without leaving the key in the ignition which can in many cases draw more power from the battery than the charger puts in, thus depleating the battery charge. It's not a win-win scenario.

One alternative is to install a second always on cigarette lighter jack for this plug. If you are going that route I would suggest an alternative which works well with asian and german imports, again from ctek: CTEK 56-380 Comfort Indicator Panel this is an alternative if your jack is not live without the key turned. It occupies a blank spot on the dash and performs 2 functions red/yellow/green blinking leds 24/7 to indicate the battery's state of charge and a ctek input jack to acccept any of their chargers where normally there would be a set of clips, rings, or the -263 cig socket. Installed properly it looks like a factory install, provides an indication plainly visable, and a rubber covered location for inserting the ctek charger end. If you can't use this 56-263 easy connect cig socket plug, then the 56-380 is the optimal solution which fits perfectly into a din switch array on imports.

Both solutions get you the same result you have an inside car convenient way to charge your battery from 117 VAC without opening the hood [or the trunk/rear seat/ all the oddball places some cars (ahem bimmer) put their batteries]

Both methods are convenient, professional, well made, and part of a system that works well together to keep your car ready to start no matter what battery you use to start it. The -380 version adds the battery state indicator wihch is a nice bonus at the end of the day to be able to glance at the dash with the key removed and determine the immediate charge status while the -263 (this item) can be used with most any vehicle even riding mowers!

I ordered the CTEK US 3300 for my Porsche 911. It's the same charger that Porsche gets $115 for because it says Porsche on it. I didn't know the CTEK US 3300 didn't come with a cigarette lighter adapter so I had to order this accessory but still saved approx. 50% over the Porsche brand charger. Originally I was going to use this in the car. However, I find I use it more at work and home with other FM radios and receivers. I have had not problems with static (other local station) and I do live in a large metropolitan area (Washington DC). I believe that the static issue a reviewer mentions is more of a receiver issue than the FM Transmitter.

The sound quality is not CD quality, but FM usually isn't. Overall I think its a great little product that actually looks like it belongs to the iPod and works in a car, home, office, hotel, etc.

I have used the iTrip for the past couple of years and while it works great in areas where the selected frequency is clear, it is virtually impossible to change the frequency on the fly when I drive into an area where there is interference... particularly if traffic is thick. The Airplay can be adjusted without interrupting play (as others can) but it also has 3 station presets which I have matched to 3 station presets on my car radio. When I encounter interference (such as when passing through cities on the interstate), I switch between the presets until I find a clear frequency. Why not a 5? The buttons feel cheap... if they hold up over time, it will be a 5.

I was very disappointed with this new model. Despite its cool specifications, including displaying the broadcast frequency on the nano screen, it didn't perform as well as the older model (designed for 1st-gen iPod nano). The signal was weak, there was a lot of static. Adjusting the broadcast antenna, and moving the unit around to different locations inside the car didn't help. The older model (which I still have, and which does work with the 2nd-gen nano) performs much better. By the way, both my cars (Honda Accord and Pilot) have their radio antennas embedded in the rear/rear-side windows which should help in-car reception with this type of product. It didn't help with the Airplay Boost (2nd-gen).

Performance inside my house (through various FM receivers) was similarly disappointing.

I returned the Airplay Boost for a refund (minus the restocking fee). In its place I bought the Griffin iTrip for Nano 2G which is awesome and far exceeds my expectations for about the same price.

This pretty much does exactly what it says it does. The sound quality isn't as good as I was hoping, but not bad. Plus, it fits on my IPOD without me having to take off the case! Yay!

I ordered this charger because I make trips along the east coast and my LG Decoy's battery runs at about 3 hours talk time now. So, I wanted to get something cheap without a long cord, and this seemed like the best/cheapest option. I ordered it, received it pretty quickly and immediately put it into good use. It worked great, charged my Decoy quickly and efficiently.

But then one day (about a month later), it just seemed to die. I thought it was just the cigarette (AC) socket so I tried with my secondary socket. It ended up blowing up the fuses for each socket, which I needed to get replaced. Be warned, if this thing malfunctions, be ready to pay for it.

I love this charger! It works awesome, and is definitely way less than going to the dealer. The only thing that I do not like is that the coil is a little short so that I can't really talk on the phone without pulling out of the socket. Just a minor inconvenience and nothing I would return it for!

I've gone through many cell phones and chargers in the past, I have to admit that I've been disappointed with the "mark-up" of vendor sold components (yeah, they are wrapped pretty but cost about $30). On my last few phones, I've selected the aftermarket version of the car chargers. They do just as well and if they get caught in the mechanics of the car seat (it can happen), you're only out a couple of dollars. Much nicer on the wallet and does the same job!

This charger works great with my 1st gen Nano. I listen to Audio books. I hear no high pitched hiss or any other extra sounds when the charger is plugged in.

I've purchased 2 of these chargers because they work quite effectively. They also come with an extra USB charging cable that works flawlessly with your iPhone 3G or 3GS. The main car charging unit has a female USB connector as well as a handy replacable fuse just in case you connect it to the wrong voltage or it just wears out.

You must be very careful when selecting a car charger for either your iPod Classic, iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle, iPod Touch, iPhone, iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS because each and every product has a slightly different voltage that is not necessarily compatible with every charging unit. I went through 3 chargers before I found this one and it performs flawlessly!

To ensure that the car charger is effectively charging your iPhone or iPod, pay attention to the charging icon in the upper righthand corner of the screen. If the icon shows a battery with a lightning symbol in it for longer than 5 minutes, you can be assured it's charging properly. However, if it shows a plug-in symbol within the charging icon either immediately after you try charging it or after a few minutes, you can be assured that it is NOT compatible nor is it charging your device.

The cord is a little on the "short" side meaning it's not as long as what you can get from the cell phone manufacturers. So as long as you don't plan on making any calls from your backseat, you should be ok.

I bought this because of the i-Phone in the family whose primary user tends to let it run down. Think of this as the can of gas you keep in the back of the truck. You might think that one can charge the unit and a phone at the same time by putting the phone on the unit while it is charging, but that appears not to be true. Seems to hold a charge well. This battery stops working pretty early. There were other reviews about it dying within the first week. I usually charge my phone on a regular basis so didn't need it too much within the first few weeks I got it. I've used it occasionally only for road trips. It started malfunctioning on the 2nd full cycle using it, where it blinked and died out completely. I thought it was the end of the battery, but tried a few more times to recharge it, which it then came back on. I used it a few more times on occasion. Right now I trying to recharge it from complete empty and it's showing no life whatsoever. I've used it between 7-11 times max on occasion. So in this case, you're getting what you pay for. Perhaps invest in a better battery or a car charger?

I bought the GPRV-155 solar charging kit and I am pleased that it came with everything that I needed to install it on my Travel Trailer including a 30 smp solar controller so I can add more panels if I want. The installation was fairly easy and it took me about 2 hours in my driveway. There is a good installation video of another Go Power! solar kit on You Tube that explains the installtion very well. Look up Fraserway Solar Installation. This panel has been charging at over 8 amps per hour on sunny days and still around 4 amps on overcast days. I have 2 batteries on my trailer and they would normally be empty after a couple of days dry camping, I am now able to stay our for a full week without running out of power! I would definitely recommend this solar kit to anyone that wants to stop worrying about running out of power while dry camping. The quality is really good and from what I have read about Carmanah they have been in the solar businiess for a long time so the 25 year warranty should be honored without question.

It's doing what its supposed to do; charging my phone in the car. But, it gets hot. I have never had it plugged in for more that 15 mminutes, so I dont know if it would actually get more hot

Ive seen these things go through years of systematic abuse. Dragged on pavement, slammed, dropped endless times on concrete, and fiercely cussed because they simply ran out of grease. I saw a fellow smash his toe, and out of pure rage, he went completely insane and threw one of these things into a solid block wall not 4 feet away. It survived, having already suffered at least 3 years of abuse by numerous other people. The plastic part surrounding the motor is vulnerable, i have seen them break. I finally bought one. I have no regrets or complaints. Nothing cheap looking, sounding, or acting about them. Very nice set in a rugged, attractive carrying case. Nothing you would want to put in your wife's stocking or buy your girlfriend on her birthday, but definitely a nice addition in the guys garage. These are exceptional grease guns and I do recomment one. I dont know much about the other brands but if its not a Lincoln, then I just don't care.

This tool makes greasing equipment so much more enjoyable! Even if you only use it for something such as a garden tractor, keeping one hand free to place the hose onto the grease fitting and one hand to run the gun is well worth while.

This is the second Lincoln PowerLuber I've owned. The first went along with the rest of my construction equipment when I sold my excavation business. I have a couple of tractors and hated having to hold the grease tip on the fitting with one hand while trying to pump the handle with the other. Not a problem now. Also, in cold weather, or with stubborn fittings, the gun puts out more pressure than lever or hand pump guns. I recommend it. The 12 volt unit works fine for residential or small farm use. The 18 volt is best if you own more than a couple of pieces of equipment.
