LG Decoy VX8610 Cell Phone Car Charger

I ordered this charger because I make trips along the east coast and my LG Decoy's battery runs at about 3 hours talk time now. So, I wanted to get something cheap without a long cord, and this seemed like the best/cheapest option. I ordered it, received it pretty quickly and immediately put it into good use. It worked great, charged my Decoy quickly and efficiently.

But then one day (about a month later), it just seemed to die. I thought it was just the cigarette (AC) socket so I tried with my secondary socket. It ended up blowing up the fuses for each socket, which I needed to get replaced. Be warned, if this thing malfunctions, be ready to pay for it.

I love this charger! It works awesome, and is definitely way less than going to the dealer. The only thing that I do not like is that the coil is a little short so that I can't really talk on the phone without pulling out of the socket. Just a minor inconvenience and nothing I would return it for!

I've gone through many cell phones and chargers in the past, I have to admit that I've been disappointed with the "mark-up" of vendor sold components (yeah, they are wrapped pretty but cost about $30). On my last few phones, I've selected the aftermarket version of the car chargers. They do just as well and if they get caught in the mechanics of the car seat (it can happen), you're only out a couple of dollars. Much nicer on the wallet and does the same job!

I normally charge my LG decoy in the cradle at home. It usually takes a few hours to charge. With this charger, my phone can go from completely dead to ¼ charged in 5 minutes.
