Garmin A/C Adapter for GPS II+, V, GPSMap 60C and 60CS (010-10255-00)

Garmin A/C Adapter for GPS II+, V, GPSMap 60C and 60CS
  • Allows You to Connect your GPS Unit to AC Power
  • Plugs Into Any Standard U.S. Based AC Power Receptacle
  • Saves on Batteries
  • Works with GPS V, GPS II Plus, GPSMAP 60C and GPSMAP 60CS
  • Plugs Into Any Standard US Outlet To Provide AC Power To GPS Unit
  • Garmin 010-10255-00 4-Pin AC Adapter
  • Pin AC Adapter
  • Works With GPS Units
  • Plugs Into Any Standard US Outlet

This item is listed on Amazon as an accessory for the 60CSx. I just got the 60CSx and was adding things to my wish list. I would have added this AC adapter except that the CSx comes with a USB cable for data transfer. The cable also powers the GPS. Since I can't imagine that I would ever have my GPS turned on in the house unless I am using it with my PC, there is absolutely no need for this A/C adapter as the USB is the power source.

I am really glad I did not order it when I ordered the GPS!

if you can help it. I ordered this product from Amazon and got it within a few days with no shipping charge. Garmin, on the other hand, still has not delivered my order for other accessories that was placed prior to this one. Stick with Amazon on Garmin GPS accessories if you can. Just a a word of advice.

The Post Office delivered the torn, empty envelope this item was shipped in. The Garmin A/C Adapter was lost in the mail. This is no fault of the shipper. I am leaving for FL today thus had no time to re-order in time to receive a new adapter before departure. I will order another adapter when I return from Florida in April 2011. I appreciate that the Post Office completed the delivery so at least I know what happened.

Works fine, but it would be better if it used the USB port. Then I could use this to charge my cell phone, and the Garmin.

Also would have given it 5 stars if it recharged the battery.

RoadPro 5027S 12V Smart Car Pot

RoadPro 5027S 12V Smart Car PotJust got this little 12v. pot for heating water, soup, etc. and didn't expect much since I had a recent bad experience with a 12v. coffee maker that, after waiting over an hour for something to happen, didn't work at all. Well, I was pleasantly surprised! This litle unit is well-made and has some very nice features, such as being able to remove the pot from the base for easy cleaning. I also like the fact that, as well as an "on" light, the pot lights up with a white light to let you know that it is seated correctly on the base. It also has a nice safety feature in that it will shut off if there's not enough water, so it won't "burn dry." Best thing, though, is that it really does work! It does take longer with 12v. units, but that's to be expected. However, in less than half an hour the water was bubbling merrily away! I am very pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend it.

I purchased this unit as my wife and I love the "coffee on the go" mode and figured to save a few bucks in the long run on the expensive Convenience Store drinks. So far, and that includes three vehicles, we have blown the fuse every time that we plug the RoadPro into the cigarette lighter. I am approaching half the cost of the unit in replaced fuses. I'm not saying that the unit will not work, in fact I believe that it will do what it claims if you can get the proper power to it. For many vehicles, it will require a heavier wire to be routed from the battery to a seperate 12 volt outlet. This takes the convenience away and adding new wiring to the vehicle adds cost to the use of the RoadPro.

Being an over-the-road driver I carried one of these for awhile in order to make coffee and hot cereal. It actually heats pretty well, and is a much better product than the previous one I had. However after about 3 months of 3-4 times a week use, it started to leak through the base and into the heating element. After that it quit completely. As this happened with 2 of these in a row, I tend to believe it's a design flaw. For occasional use, it's probably well worth it, but if you use it regularly, expect to replace it every couple of months.

What a treat to have hot tea or instant coffee on long road trips. Holds enough for 2 cups of your favorite brew. Takes about 15 minutes for hot water, 20 minutes to boil. Very handy.

Want RoadPro 5027S 12V Smart Car Pot Discount?

It takes around a half hour to heat water that is "cool to the touch" up to a temperature suitable for making tea, etc.

This really isn't the fault of the manufacturer. They are stuck making a product that can work on just about any car's accesory outlet (unfortunately some vehicles can't provide more than 10 Amps or so). I bought two of these gadgets and they consume around 8Amps (give or take a bit) or approximately 100watts. That sets how long it takes to heat water.

Otherwise, it is reasonably well built. The little bracket that comes with the car pot is a little cheesy, but everything else is fine.

Swiss Gear USB Charger for iPod

Swiss Gear USB Charger for iPodAlthough listed as an item simply for iPods, this gadget will work with many USB compatible items. Rather than buying wall chargers for all your MP3s, PDAs, cameras, etc, using this little gadget will fill all your needs. Simply plug the USB cord connected to your MP3 player right into the Swiss Gear Charger & then plug the charger into the wall. So simple anyone can use it! The charger is designed for optimum mobility by allowing the plug in blades to fold into the charger, all of which can be stowed away in a small space (such as a purse or valise). Never suffer through another day of dead batteries again!

I use this for when I am at work. It is lightweight and takes lots of abuse. Well worth the money and would buy again.

Originally I thought this contained a battery. The illustration does not show the electric socket prongs. Hope this review will keep someone else from making the same mistake. The foldaway design makes it neater and less lethal to carry in your pocket.

Goal Zero 11004 Sherpa 50 Silver Portable Recharger

Goal Zero 11004 Sherpa 50 Silver Portable RechargerI purchased the Sherpa 50 to charge my iPhone and iPad 3 while camping. When fully charged it will charge up the iPad once from a near fully depleted iPad battery, or give 2 charges from 50%, in my experience (YMMV)

The Goal Zero system uses their own connectors which work nicely between their batteries, chargers, and solar panels. Since I already own the Sunlinq 12w and 25w panels, I needed to splice my own connectors to make these work together. I bought the Goal Zero 6' 8mm input cable extension and spliced a connector for the Sunlinq. I was able to charge the Sherpa 50 in about 4 hours from 60% to a full charge while the Sunlink 25w panel was in full sun. It would be easier (and maybe quicker) to use the Goal Zero panels, but I already own the Sunlinq.

Overall I am very pleased with the Sherpa 50; this is a well made high quality unit. My only criticism, is that the 8mm extension cord did not fit the Sherpa. I contacted customer service and they responded the next day, acknowledging the problem and recommending a fix (shave 1/8" off of the plastic connector barrel), which worked perfectly.

No doubt the "50" refers to 50 watt hours, since I will be using the GZ 27M Solar Panel almost every day on my trips I expect charging to take little time and stay charged. I thought of getting the larger one, but I figure if I felt inclined, I'll get another one of these instead of depending on ONE battery. Good quality, if a little pricy, but I expect it to last a LONG time! Can't wait 'til they put out a rubber sleeve to fit it (the one they have right now WON'T fit this one).

I use this on all my trips. When I am not using it with the solar panels, I plug it into my car adapter. Ironically my nexus 7 doesn't charge well with a car adapter, but charges fine with this bad boy.

Fuse Solar Charger

Fuse Solar Charger Color: Charcoal PanelsI purchased the Fuse Solar Charger just under a month ago, and so far I'm impressed with the quality and thoughtfulness of this product. It is ruggedly constructed and comes well stocked with a good capacity battery and with several of the most popular power adapters. At the time of my initial review I've only tested this by charging the battery and by directly charging my cell phone in controlled settings, I have not taken this hiking yet.

That being said here is what I can tell you about the battery and about hooking directly to the solar panel. My test device to charge was my Palm Pre, which has the "Govnah" application installed. This application monitors temperature, processor, memory, battery, load, etc. The most important feature for these tests being the ability to monitor battery input and output. Based on some simple tests I've done it appears that the Battery does not charge my phone quite as quickly as the Solar Panel directly. I noticed the battery was only sending out about 300mA 500mA to my phone whereas the Solar Panel (in direct sunlight) was sending about 600mA. I suspect this has something to do with the battery on my phone being higher capacity, and I noticed the more charge left in the battery the more the power from the battery charger dropped (50% battery 400mA, 70% battery 300mA). Ultimately each method has a downside. When using the battery it is consistent, but slowly charges with less power as your device is charged, and secondly when charging with the Solar Panel it only reaches its full potential in direct sunlight. The less direct the light, the less charge you get, or none at all.

Overall this is great gear, and in my opinion the stats that the manufacturer has listed do not over or understate the product. The charge times for the battery seem to be pretty accurate (in direct sunlight!), and as stated using the panel directly in optimal conditions can give you quick charging results as well. A couple of final notes I want to mention. One, I suggest purchasing a good USB battery charging kit (See Sanyo Eneloop 2-AA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries with USB Charger). They work mostly the same as if you have them hooked up to your computer, and it makes for a great portable charger for your camera batteries. Lastly, you can easily remove the battery from its sleeve in the Solar Panel bag. It is very slim and lightweight, which is great in particular for women with a purse, but just a tad too bulky for a pocket. It has the ability to charge most phones fully 1 to 2 times before needing recharged, and can save you in a pinch.

I just got three of these which I plan to use in Peace Corps service in Kenya. I haven't yet used the solar panels to charge with because I have been testing the batteries using USB and AC power. I will update my review once I've used the panels, too. I just wanted to at least give some information on this product for anyone who is curious.

Initial impressions:

* very well made/designed

* solar panels are very sensitive (if the red indicator light is anything to go by)

* lightweight

* the product images and description lists these as coming with nine connectors, but all three of mine only included four.

* the batteries themselves are very light

I looked at the Solio chargers, too, but opted for this system because:

* It's more versatile:

Voltaic batteries can be charged using the solar panels OR using a USB connection on a computer OR USB connection directly into a wall socket

can strap to a bag, a bike, a roof, anywhere you can clip the straps

* It's more outdoorsy:

waterproof solar panels (Solio's panels aren't...)

* Easy to use:

USB connection right on the battery (Solio requires an adapter for this even though most devices now can use USB)

I've used full-charged batteries to power:

* BlackBerry (takes half a battery to fully power)

* iPod touch (most recent generation; takes half a battery to fully power)

* Kindle 3 6" (haven't yet tested how long it takes to charge...)

The negatives:

* the panels are waterproof, but can be scratched...take care

* the batteries have a power on switch that gets clicked constantly if you have them floating about loose in a backpack

UPDATE (January 2012):

So...I'm back from Kenya and, as it turned out, I almost never needed to resort to charging the battery packs using solar energy alone. So, I don't having any news there.

I can say that while traveling, the little battery packs were *marvelous* to have. I took at least one with me everywhere I went so that I could recharge my phone, my iPod, and my Kindle if I couldn't find an outlet to plug into. Even when I could find an outlet, I still mostly charged everything using the batteries so that I could prevent exposing my electronics to power surges.

In the future, I'll just bring all three of my battery packs for travel. I'll only bring one of the pairs of solar panels, leaving the other two at home.

It worked fine until last summer. I live in the south so yes, it can get pretty hot, but you would think that a solar charger would hold up better. The battery pack apparently melted and became so warped that it no longer fits together. It is now useless unless I want to buy another battery pack.

I also agree that more detailed instructions should have been provided.

Power Bright XC180 Cup Inverter, 180-watt 12V DC cigarette lighter to 120V AC to power laptop noteb

Power Bright XC180 Cup Inverter, 180-watt 12V DC cigarette lighter to 120V AC to power laptop notebook & more w/ 3 USB ports 2.1A shared compatible with iPad & moreI saw this Inverter on "I want that" show on DIY network, Googled it, found it on Amazon for $35, Now "I got that" and "I love that"

I had to leave a feedback on this product. This inverter is really cool looking. It's really tiny, it fits in your cup holder and has 3 USB ports, I only realized that there was three ports when I received it, the two other ports are located at the back of the inverter.

I love knowing that I will never run out of battery on the go! Now I can charge my laptop, cell phone and ipad all at the same time!! Oh wait there is still one USB left :)

I can't tell you how many times I wished I had something like this on the 4 hour drive to Orlando. The four ports are very useful and allow me to charge my computer, iPad, and iPhone all at once. It's portable and fits well in my cup holder. Fast shipping, good value, great product.

Buy Power Bright XC180 Cup Inverter, 180-watt 12V DC cigarette lighter to 120V AC to power laptop noteb Now

The inverter no taller than a pack of gum and has no trouble fitting in the cup holders of both of my cars.

It comes with two cables that each can power the inverter, a cigarette adapter and a cable that can be hooked onto a 12 volt car battery. The latter isn't as useful to me in particular but still convenient to have around.

I used it twice today 30 minutes at a time to charge my iphone and went up 20% in battery life in that time span. It worked very well without overheating at all. I haven't tried using all 3 USB ports and 1 AC ports at one time but i'm sure this thing can handle it

I'll update this review in the future if i do.

Aluratek APB04F Dual USB 10000mAh External Battery Pack for Charging of Tablets Smartphones eReader

Aluratek APB04F Dual USB 10000mAh External Battery Pack for Charging of Tablets Smartphones eReaders and Other Mobile Devices
  • 10000mAh Lithium Ion Rechargeable Battery
  • Dual USB Charging Ports 2.1 Amp
  • LED Charge Status Indicators
  • Rapid Charging Technology Built In
  • Sleek Design

Now that we're seeing the beginnings of the first true 4G mobile networks, smartphones and tablets are becoming an increasingly integral part of many people's daily lives. Whereas it's pretty commonplace to sit down somewhere with your laptop plugged in while you work, modern tablets and smartphones allow us to do our computing and gaming on-the-go. Even with the advances in battery technology and power-saving LED displays, it's tough for the average user to make it through a full day on their mobile device without running out of juice.

Enter devices like this -at 5000mAh, it's got enough power to completely charge most smartphones 2-3 times. Even running 4G and watching streaming videos on your phone, you can comfortably be away from the charger for a couple days without having to worry. It'll also give you about a 75% boost on your tablet battery (iPad 2 battery is just shy of 7000 mAh).

This device is fairly portable -a little bulkier than a kit-kat bar -and should fit easily into your purse or backpack... I wouldn't really want to carry it in my pocket, but I guess it'd fit fair easily into a zippered jacket pocket or something. Once you add in the necessary cable, though, it can start getting sorta bulky.

Speaking of bulk, one thing that sorta bugged me about this device was the proprietary charging cable. So many devices nowadays are mini-USB. It's nice having a standard plug. Why, then, do you have to use some weird DC adapter to charge this portable battery? It already comes with a mini-USB cable for use with smartphones and such -just let it charge with that! Since this device must be charged using the proprietary USB-to-DC plug, if you happen to lose it, you're done. Sorta sucks. For this reason (and for the added portability) I'd prefer to stick with a smaller charger like the Belkin F8M158tt Power Pack 1000. Sure, it doesn't have quite the same capacity, but how often are you really going to be needing several days' worth of portable charge on your smartphone in between opportunities to plug it into a wall outlet or USB port?

Anyway, this is a decent device. It comes with a whole range of adapters that allow you to plug it into your smartphone, normal phone iPad / iPod, etc. It's got great capacity but suffers from being a bit bulkier than lower-capacity battery units and a proprietary charge cable. While this could be a good workhorse for iPad users, I'm thinking of these types of devices as being primarily used to extend the life of smartphones for folks on-the-go. As such, this is just a little too bulky to be practical for my daily use. I'd give it a higher rating but the DC charge cable bugs me.

Buy Aluratek APB04F Dual USB 10000mAh External Battery Pack for Charging of Tablets Smartphones eReader Now

You can read all the specific details pertaining to this device in all the other reviews. I just wanted to correct the misconception that it will only charge via a computer USB port. This is not true. I used my HP Touchpad charger and it worked perfectly. This battery pack requires a charger capable of 1.3 amps. The iPhone charger only is .5amps (I believe). Any aftermarket charger that provides a higher current should work fine.

Only reason I am not making this a 5 star item is for the slight bulkiness of the pack. At the discounted price it can not be beat.

My first review of this product would have been an enthusiastic 5 star recommendation; however, having had it for a few months I have found a massive drawback a faulty USB cable. I contacted the company to see if they would send me a new one, and indeed they would if I paid 10 dollars for the cable and 9.95 in shipping. Needless to say I was not amendable to doing that.

When I originally received this item, I didn't use it right off as I never found that I was able to drain my Samsung Infuse cell phone or IPod touch 4th gen completely of batteries and find myself no where near a charger. I kept it in my purse just in case, and I did find myself needing it when I traveled extensively in November for both business and pleasure. First I found myself taking many pictures, and sending those pictures to Facebook, draining my cell of battery when I visited Walt Disney World. I was very lucky to have had this to charge my cell while we took a break for lunch or dinner. Secondly, when I traveled to Denver on business from Boston, I found I had forgotten to charge my IPod before I left. Having this in my purse was a Godsend for the 5 hour flight! After these experiences I became diligent about keeping the external battery pack charged, just in case.

Unfortunately, the USB cable (and its' attachments to charge my cell and Ipod) went dead in January as I was on the road for business again. I was unimpressed by the lack of customer service and how long it took them to get back to me only to tell me that I would have to shell out 20 dollars for a replacement cable. My work around for this is inconvenient, but it works I carry an IPod and USB mini cable with the battery to be able to use it to charge when needed. This is unwieldy, but again it works. The battery still works fabulously, so I will rate this at 3 stars for that, but be aware of the 0 star customer service and usb cable.

Want Aluratek APB04F Dual USB 10000mAh External Battery Pack for Charging of Tablets Smartphones eReader Discount?

This is a rechargeable battery that you charge up using your computer's USB port. Once it is charged, then you can plug any number of electronic devices into this battery, using the USB port in the battery, to run or charge your device from it. I've used this to charge up my 2nd generation iTouch iPod(r), my iPad2(r), and my Blackberry(r) Tour phone. (Obviously not all at the same time; just one at a time, grin).

When you charge this from your computer, it has 3 blue lights that will light up as it becomes fully charged (1 blue light means it's about 1/3 charged up, 2 lights is 2/3rds). It comes with all the cables to charge the battery from your USB port, and to then charge or run your devices. It does not come with a AC adapter to charge your battery from a wall plug, and it does not come with a 12 volt adapter to charge the battery from your car's 12 volt accessory port (cigarette lighter). To charge/run your device, select the right cable with the right connector for your device, plug it into your device and into the battery, and then there is a button on the batter to push to turn the charging on. While you are running/charging off the battery, the blue lights will tell you about how much battery you have left: 3 lights, full; 2 lights, 2/3rds; 1 light, 1/3rd. I don't have a good way to tell you how many hours this battery will run before you needs to recharge it again, but my experience has been really good. It's not like I have to charge it up each day. I don't use it more than about once a week in an emergency when one of my devices needs a charge. High recommended! The battery is small enough to fit in most pockets, less than 3 inches x 4 inches and about 3/4 inches thick.

I bought this product reading some of the good reviews and for the price it should have worked too. The first charge went well although it ran out of power just after charging my smartphone only once. That was not a good sign. The next time I tried to charge my cellphone with it, it kept switching off and would need to be turned ON multiple times manually. I give it two stars because of its looks and light-weight design. May be it was my bad luck but i returned it asap.

Kensington Mini Battery Extender and Charger for iPod and iPhone 1G, 3G, 4G (Black)

Kensington Mini Battery Extender and Charger for iPod and iPhone 1G, 3G, 4G
  • NOTE: This item is model number K33459US; it is the same product as Kensington's K33442US but featuring new reduced packaging
  • Compatibility: iPod nano 1G, 2G, 3G; iPod classic 4G, 5G, 5.5G, 6G; iPod touch; iPhone
  • Power and charge your iPhone or iPod--extends play time up to 30 hours of music or 6 hours of video (on iPod nano 3G) or 3 hours of talk (on iPhone)
  • Includes retractable USB charging cable, and it's small enough to keep connected to your iPhone or iPod
  • High-capacity, rechargeable Lithium-Ion polymer battery pack for increased energy efficiency

This little battery pack just isn't worth the trouble. It is certainly small, and maybe if you need just a little boost to your battery it might work for you, but I am getting no where near the stated time, or amount of charge. So from a auxiliary battery point of view, it doesn't cut it. Secondly, because it's a little heavy (certainly heavier than Apple engineers envisioned anything that hangs off the dock connector being) it really wiggles around, does not stay put, and on top of that also loosens up the dock connector itself.

Buy Kensington Mini Battery Extender and Charger for iPod and iPhone 1G, 3G, 4G (Black) Now

I bought this charger couple days ago and I must say I love it. Let me first say that the main feature is the size this charger is very small and requires no additional cables for charging the iPhone and thus is very portable. If you are somebody why needs to add additional battery power every day then don't buy this, but if you are like me and you need extra power once a long while because u flying or staying in friend's house overnight, then this is great product.

I was able to charge iPhone 3GS with 20% battery power left back to 80% in 1 hour and to 95% in less than 2 hours. If you turn the iPhone off (if u flying for example) and then start charging it, you might get even faster charging time.

There are few gotchas you should be aware of.

1. if you use a case with your iPhone, the charger might not work. I was lucky and the charger fits and works with mine, but it's not really securely attached. I have to remove the case if I want really good grip. This is of course not an issue of the charger and I really don't care that much simply because I don't use this charger every single day.

2. The cable which charges the charger is USB-to-MINIUSB has issues first it's only charging cable and not datacable (no idea why) and thus you cannot use for other things (I hate to carry 20 different cables when I travel). The second I really don't get why this cable exists in the first place. Why the charge cannot use existing iPhone charging cable instead or at least have an option to use either miniusb or iphone cables?

I think this is a great small battery pack for the iPhone. Charges via USB with a mini USB part that goes into the battery pack (you can plug this into the wall if you have a USB charger to AC charger). Small and easy to travel with for those who are on the go. I also have a Casemate Fuel which charges similaly but is a battery and holster. The Casemate is lighter and works well but I got this as times I do not want to have a holster. With both, I would not have to charge the iPhone for a long day or two. Got this at BestBuy for $20, on sale. The Casemate Fuel cost me about $59 a year ago. Both are great, but I would have bought this only if it had been available when I bought the Casemate Fuel as it is smaller.

This battery is useful for charging your iPod when you are almost out of battery juice, and there is no AC power avaliable.

But you CANNOT use the headphone jack (example: for talking over Skype) while this external battery is connected to your iPod Touch. Kensington should have designed a shape that would accommodate the use of headphone/microphone.

If you HAVE TO use your iPod's headphone jack WHILE it is being charged by a portable battery, you will need something like this:

Music Power 0900-72 Encore Dual Port USB AC Charger with Rechargeable Extended Battery

It is not a one-piece design like the Kensington, but because of that, it is more flexible (It's a general purpose portable/AC 2-port USB charger) and will allow me to continue my Skype session without interruption. In other words, I can CHARGE my iPod Touch and USE my headphone/microphone at the same time. Not only that, there is no issue with having to remove iPod Touch's protective case if you have one, or having to maintain a certain angled contact between the battery and the iPod for positive charging to take place. For me, this is a much better and more practical solution to extending the use of my iPod Touch. And it is also cheaper than the Kensington, plus you will most likely be able to use this battery on future versions of iPod and things that rely on USB power. I highly recommend it (Music Power 0900-72 Encore).

Update (7/7/2011):

Music Power 0900-72 Encore Dual Port USB AC Charger with Rechargeable Extended Battery is no longer being sold.

Now I recommend the following, which is also very versatile and cheaper.

Just search "Battery USB Emergency Charger for iPhone iPod" on Ebay, and you will find a portable USB battery charger for less than $4 post paid. It uses two AA rechargeable batteries (not included) and includes a flash light function. It doesn't last as long as Music Power, but then you won't have to buy a proprietary battery.

Everydaysource Compatible With Samsung© Galaxy S III / S3 - USB (Micro 5-pin) Retractable Car Char

Everydaysource Compatible With Samsung© Galaxy S III / S3 - USB Retractable Car Charger , BlackI bought 2 of these, one for my Samsung Galaxy S3, and one for my wife's LG Optimus Black. Don't get me wrong, the product is pretty cool, and the cable being retractable is a great feature, as you don't have wires all around your car. But a problem I found is that when I'm using it with my Galaxy S3, the battery drain is faster than the charging. This means that the amperage output of the charger is not enough to keep up with the normal discharge when using the phone as a GPS, or even to check Facebook in a parking lot or in the red lights.

I read some forums which say that this phone needs a charger with a 1 Amp output to be able to get charged while using it in the car. I did some research on this charger, and could not find the output it's generating. I even contacted the manufacturer , to ask them about this product, but didn't get a reply.

So, the charger works very well on smaller phones which don't require a high amperage to get charged, but the Galaxy S3 just drains the battery too fast when in use, so this charger is not good for it.

This charger is so compact that it's easy for me to put it in my purse and have it handy in my car or my husband's car. It was a good price and arrived quicker than the company promised. I'm happy with every aspect of this transaction.

This was a great purchase. We have gone through about 4 "cheap" chargers for our Samsung Galaxy S3, but finally found this one. The retractable cord is perfect and very useful. It has the perfect amount of give and seems like it will stand up to daily use. Great product and we would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a well priced charger.

Pulse Tech Xtreme Charge Quick Battery Tester 100X822

Pulse Tech Xtreme Charge Quick Battery Tester 100X822Great, easy to use. I have purchased three one for the motorcycle, one for the lawn mower and one for the autos.

I saw this reviewed in a magazine and found it offered on Amazon with free shipping. It is worth every penny. It is very easy to use and also very accurate. It tests the condition of your battery AND alternator. It is compact and travels anywhere well. No do-it-yourself person should be without this cool tool. Really.

I bought this to keep with me on some of my long distance motorcycle trips. It packs well (small) and is a handy tool to keep in my tool roll...

Convenient Battery tester for a quick check of your car battery. With the engine off, connect the charger with the red electrode to the + terminal and the black electrode to the terminal. It gives a good indication of the reserve amount of your battery. Most of the time is shows 75% (or more); this is an indicator that the battery is in good shape. If it is 50%, it could indicate that the battery is starting to experience problems. A 50% reading can be misleading, as a battery at 70% can also give this reading. Also, AGM batteries have given me lower readings than the true capacity of the battery. If it is at 25%, one should get the battery checked or check the charging system.

With the engine on, it will test the alternator with either a red or green light on the top.

There are two issues I have. The first one is the cord for the black(-) electrode is very short. For conventional batteries, it works well. Some batteries are in the trunk and have connectors separated by long distances, and an additional extension (like alligator clip wires) is needed.

The second issue is the indicators shows only 100,75,50,25%. It needs more levels. A battery at 97% and one at 76% will result in only the 75% light being lit. A battery at 70% may only trip the 50% light. So, take several measurements.

Overall, it is worth having for a quick test of the battery and alternator.

I bought this pocket tester for my Honda CB 750 Nighthawk which I ride almost every day. I also purchased the Pulse Tech MBT-1 and the E-Z Red compact battery hydrometer. All three gave me the same results of 100% on the battery in service and 75% on the spare. This is the cheapest insurance policy money can buy.

I think this review would be the easiest to write:

1.Looks great. I think it has a great modern design.

2.Fells very durable

3.Does the job perfectly

4.The USB connector is a great bonus.

5.Comes with a great carrying little bag.

I recommend this product if you're on the go and want to have an adapter with class.

I've been able to replace all my different adapters for Europe, Asia and Middle East with just this one. It's a little pricey but well worth the money.

I cannot bear to be without my USB charger/adapter when I leave for any trips. Even if it's a domestic trip, the travel adapter, along with USB attachments for conversion, are incredibly useful so that I don't have to pack a ton of extra chargers in my luggage. For instance, I can charge my phone and camera at the same time and not have to worry about bringing their separate chargers, just need the adapters so that they fit the USB on these chargers. I bought this on the plane, where it was certainly more expensive than it is here on Amazon so I would highly suggsest planning ahead to have this on you through an online order before your next trip. That way you can also save some money without having to buy at the duty free shops!

Want Skross World Travel Adapter 2 with Dual USB Charger. Swiss Designed For Safety and Quality. Charge Discount?

I have a large bag full of plug adapters one trip Philippines, next Australia and Papua New Guinea, off to the UK, then Europe. What a pain! But this Skross adapter travels with me and it does the job nearly everywhere (I still need a grounded US three pin to two US blade adapter but I do not use grounded US three pin cords when I am mobile.) To boot, I add the end cap and now I have two USB 5 volt power sources, ideal for my Samsung mobile, Kindle, etc. All in one small bundle all pins extensible / retractable. What a great idea!

Updated in June 2013: I don't use this any longer, because I ow prefer the relatively newly available dual USB adapter one can also plug A/C power plugs into without having to disassemble the unit and make a choice of what to use Tripshell WORLD TRAVEL ADAPTER Built-in Dual USB Chargerb by elago design for $24.99 here on Amazon.

Bought one of each this model and one of the standard models without USB from Shoreline Warehouse, nice product, great customer service.

Why spend the extra money for the same product.

Would not hesitate to buy from them again.

Sunlinq Portable Solar Panel Charger 6.5W 12V

Sunlinq Portable Solar Panel Charger 6.5W 12VBought this, plugged in my iPod and as long as the iPod was powered off, while in the strong sun, it provided trickle charge. When i tried to charge with power on it would not charge at all and the battery was drained. Not what I expected.

Update: I tried recharging my laptop and it works but power must be off. I was also able to charge my iPad but only with power off.

I guess this will work on most gadgets as long as the power is off. I am curious whether I should get a voltage regulator. I don't know if my gadgets or the Sunlinq will stop trying to charge once the batteries are 100%. For now I will just watch carefully.

Item arrived rapidly and I have charged numerous items including Garmin 410, Ipod, battery packs and cell phone and this Solar Panel is amazing. Charges rapidly and without any problems at all. Item is made of strong materials and should hold up very well when backpacking. Wish I had discovered this long before now.

Well designed and very robust, made for rough environments.

The universal 12V output, with the provided female car plug, is compatible with virtually any device: all you need is a car charger for your phone (not included). As mentioned in the documentation, it works with the iridium 9575 extreme.

Included adapters: alligator clips, universal female and male cigarette lighter sockets, extension cable etc.

Samsung Intercept Moment 2 M910 Cell Phone Rapid Car Charger

Samsung Intercept Moment 2 M910 Cell Phone Rapid Car ChargerItem works as advertised, but two things I noticed:

1-plastic housing that goes in cigarette lighter is somewhat flimsy and has already starting cracking on my unit. Don't rough house with this charger, treat it gently.

2-charging cuts on & off when USB connector is jostled forcefully. Not a big headache if you play nice but I thought you should know.

For the low price of the item you can/should overlook these two observations.

The charger stays put in cigarette lighter and on the phone USB connector. The coiled cord is flexible enough that you can handle the phone without either end pulling out of its intended location.

I got one in April by June it was no longer working. First day I plugged it in it had a burnt odor. It worked good for the short amount of time it did work. No warranty info came with it.

Buy Samsung Intercept Moment 2 M910 Cell Phone Rapid Car Charger Now

1) Charger is NOT ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURE, SAMSUNG... Although listing does not state OEM, It is misleading as it DOES state Samsung Intercept M910 charger leading one to believe it is OEM.

2) Charger did not come with any statement of warranty.

3) Although charger seems to work adequately, the cord is very flimsy, and the plugs are cheaply made (look as if not handled very easily could fall apart... time will tell.

Tripp Lite APS2424 Inverter / Charger 2400W 24V DC to 120V AC 14A / 55A Hardwire

Tripp Lite APS2424 Inverter / Charger 2400W 24V DC to 120V AC 14A / 55A HardwireI just purchased the APS2424 after a fantastic phone call with their technical support team.

I had been considering installing this unit in our Wood-Fired Pizza Truck (BasicKneadsPizza.com). We had purchased a nice generator, but after installing one on another truck, I wasn't blown away, even the quiestest Honda 3000 still stinks like a traffic jam.

James from Tripp-Lite's technical support line picked up quickly and gave me a free refresher course on physics; 36v input means 3 batteries in series, 24v=2 batteries. To double the capacity, a second bank in parallel would cost ~1/3 less with the 24v APS2424.

Not to mention the Auto-Transfer switch, and load sensor, this unit is basically going to be my prep table's personal assistant.

Our truck is going to rock this unit and two batteries in series. I am going to return an $80 transfer switch, sell a Parallax converter/charger for $100 and a Honda Eu3000is for $1200.

Generator system= ~$1600, noisy, stinky, needs gas and oil changes, huge amount of work to install.

Inverter system= ~$850, silent, maintenence free.

Sold.

I purchased this inverter for loads that have heavy inductive startup motors. Refrigerator, well pump, etc which are powered off my solar battery system. Works perfectly where an Aims 5000 watt unit failed repeatedly. Handles startup currents from inductive loads perfectly as long as you are in the rated overload capacity. Workmanship is excellent. Instructions are detailed. Well worth the extra cost in quality and ruggedness. Very happy with unit.

This was an easy install, plenty of power and good assortment of options.

I chose the 24V unit to lower the current draw requirement on the batteries.

With a couple of good AGM batteries it's a sweet backup for lights and most consumer electronics.

I connected the unit to a External Generator panel on my house for emergency backup power since power outages lasting more than 5 hours are extremely rare. (We are near a substation.)

My only complaint is not about the unit, it is about the documentation.

PWM Sine Wave does not describe the output wave form properly for most people. Searching for PWM Sine Wave often yields Pulse With Modulation generated Sine Wave which is a common way to produce "Pure Sine Wave". Searching for the definition of PWM Sine Wave yielded anything but the type of wave form this product produces.

The output of this Inverter is a "Modified Square Wave" in that it has a very short rise and fall time that approximates an alternating current and is compatible with most household electronics. There are advantages to this waveform, first and foremost the output is simple to generate so the product will be very reliable/rugged. Apparently there has been a shift in terminology over the years to "Pure Sine Wave" as apposed to just plain "Sine Wave", even "Modified Sine Wave" most of us knew was a square wave.

My only issue is that I have a medical device that needs to have "Pure Sine Wave" to properly drive the heater in the device. SCR controllers (AKA Dimmers) have a hard time with square waves and the output is unpredictable. If I had known it was not a "Pure Sine Wave" I would not have purchased this product.

No, I am not going to return it. I'll use it as a backup to the much more troublesome sine wave unit that I only need for my refrigerator and medical device.

I just bought this to replace a POS made by Power bright. This thing is three times the size, yet the same power output. It make a humming noise when on. But thats all I can say so far as the bad. The great part, it is built like a tank...made to last. It works great. I run my barn lights, my well pump, and some times a fan. All work well with this unit.

Ok, so I went ahead taking a gamble buying this cheap case (mine came with charger too, for 1 Cent!!) and it PAID OFF! Its thin but strong, and the arm band stretches even after months of use! Is comfortable, stable, and I do yard work, RUN, work out, and even shovel with this thing on my arm! Be careful putting the arm band through the belt loop on the rubber case and you will be fine. Love it, I am buying another as a spare before they run out.

Bought three of them, one for daughter, one for my wife and one for me. Two of the three had issues with constantly freezing up, had to remove back cover (PIA tiny screws) to remove battery to reset. The one I purchased for myself finally would not turn on, would light like it wanted to turn on, then go dark and cycle the process all over again. I finally gave up on it and now use my cell phone Mp3. Product lasted about 7 months before failure. Only used it occasionally in the gym on the stairmaster. Never dropped or abused. My wife uses hers at the gym as well and her's has been trouble free (one out of three is a poor percentage rate). I'd never buy another one. This is the third Sandisk Mp3 product I've purchased (the first two models I purchased lasted approximately one year and I thought this product was more refined). This is the last Sandisk Mp3 player I'll ever purchase.

I ordered this with the AC adapter, but only the AC adapter arrived. I waited a couple of days in case it was coming separately, but when it didn't arrive, I notified the seller via Amazon email. The response was prompt: "Sorry, I'll send it right out". I had it in 2 days. The world is not perfect, everybody slips up now and then. It's how you handle the slip that counts. I highly recommend this seller and would buy from them again without hesitation.
