Waterproof iPhone 4S Tough Case for RAM Motorcycle Mounts

IMHO, there are two very fixable but prominent design flaws that cost one star each. However, with a minimal amount of effort, you too can make this a 5-star product where the manufacturer fell short.

1. The internal rubber mold: It's not affixed to the inside of the case, so, if the phone isn't actually inside it, the mold can fall out very easily and fall somewhere on I-294 between Chicago and Route 137 or beyond. As a result, I can only hope to be able to purchase a replacement now but I must admit it doesn't look promising. I understand that the outer shell needs to be uniform so that one shell can fit many phone models, but c'mon BuyBits (or whomever the OEM is), is applying a tiny bit of adhesive too much to ask? (Apologies to BuyBits if they are not the OEM).

2. The color: Maybe black is the mandatory color choice for my friends who better fit the "biker" mold, but for us ADV'ers, the color choice creates a problem in high heat: On a mostly sunny, 80-85 degree day, it took about 45 minutes for SIRI to get heatstroke and pass out. Part of that problem is that there's heat generated from charging process, but I couldn't help but to wonder how much the case color compounded said problem so I tried an experiment: I applied yellow, retroreflective, flight helmet tape to the back of the case and tried it out on the next hot & sunny day. Sure enough, with the ambient temp hovering around 90, I charged it while cranking tunes via bluetooth, pissed off my GPS "guidance" gal, all while trying to find out where all those escort services SIRI said were "close to me" (a homage to the SIRI Auto-tune Song you need to find on youtube) and yet no matter what I tried, overheating simply didn't happen.

I will post pictures of the case with the tape as well as an update on my search for a replacement inner molding.

I loved the concept and may use it again. I got it to use as a GPS but never picked up a power cord for my iPhone. I really liked the fit and features.

I should have purchased the soft case from a USA vendor. I didn't even have a full trip in and this item failed. My phone didn't get damaged, but I noticed fogging inside of it, opened it ASAP and noticed it was wet. Towel dried, luckily no damage.
