Dewalt gives you 3 choices in drive size 1/4 , 3/8 (this one ) or 1/2". I chose 3/8 and had to look hard for it because I wanted to use my 3/8 sockets I already owned. I have a dewalt 1/2" impact wrench with 1/2" sockets that runs on 110 vac so this is my "tiny" solution for nuts. As for 1/4" drivers, I'm deferring that size to the small power screwdriver type low torque drivers.
I was surprised how hard it was to find a 3/8" drive my sockets are all 3/8 and this has the nice snap ring holder so it's a great system altogether. It comes in a black carry case with 2 batteries and charger, which I don't need another one. I would have bought the tool alone but at the time I could not find the tool with these features and no batteries, and I needed some new batteries anyhow.
The gearbox is great, as with all dewalt drivers. It's the right drive size for an 18v battery driven system.

Really nice, small impact wrench. Powerful enough for most jobs requiring bolts not larger than 1/2". If you need a wrench for larger bolts get the 1/2" drive model.Read Best Reviews of DEWALT DC823KA 18-Volt 3/8-Inch Impact Wrench Here
