Scorpio SR-i900R Motorcycle Alarm - New

Although there are some unwritten details about this alarm and it takes some getting used to, it is a very well made alarm. One neat feature that is not obvious in the manual is if the alarm is triggered and the remote is within 10 feet, the icons will flash to show a trigger, but the alarm will not go off. It "knows" you are there and the vehicle is safe. The perimeter feature and internal back-up battery (in case someone accesses the alarm and disconnects the power source) are also two nice perks. The perimeter feature will warn away someone in the vicinity, and will go off if the intruder doesn't leave. Even though it says to charge the remote daily, you probably could go at least 3 weeks without charging it. The effective range of the alarm in a city is about a quarter mile. This is my first experience with a paging alarm, and it is highly recommended if you want this type of alarm for your bike.

I made the mistake of ordering this product directly thru the company rather than amazon.com. They consist of 4 employees and when you ask to speak with the owner about the rude and obnoxious behavior of the employees they pass you around the circle telling you he is out of the county. When I originally called the company to request additional information, the young man who answered the call (sales support and tech support is the same person) was rude, obnoxious and short on his answers. At times he took deep breaths and laughed at my questions ... classy company. None the less I ordered the product because of the good reviews. What I received was a plastic and very fragile unit. During the install the cover over the speaker broke and the custom connector kit did not fit as advertised. Don't waste your money on their custom wiring kit, just use the wiring kit that comes with the alarm. After I completed the install, some of the features worked while others do not. I'm extremely technically oriented (have an electrical engineering degree) and to say the product was low quality would be right on. Pick another company that is not in financial trouble and you will be much better off. I'm wishing I had gone with the Gorilla system, would have saved money and been much more satisfied. Oh by the way, unless you return any product (defective or not) within 14 days or ordering it they will not provide an RMA. Another reason to only do business with amazon.com ... and not the vendor directly.

I found the installation instructions easy to follow, & this alarm works just as advertised, the sensitivity is easy to adjust, I reccomend this to anyone looking for an alarm that don't go off when the squirells or cats run over the seat of the bike. I am very happy I decided to get this one.

I did have my I900 installed professionally and it works great It took a little time to adjust the perimeter alarm but once I got that taken care of it works great I have had it only about 3 weeks the the long term review is still out.
